Part 1

Dave flirted with JJ and she flirted right back, which pleased him

Jennifer or JJ as she preferred to be known was aware of his interest, but since he was a very strong Alpha and she was an Omega, well, she knew she could display her interest in him, even flirt a little, but she couldn't ask him for a date as it just wasn't done.

Some Alphas got rather pissed off if an Omega was so bold to ask them out, so it was the rule, that it was always the Alpha that asked out the Omega.

Of course, in his case he was also immortal and had been around for a very long time. He wasn't even entirely sure how he had become immortal as his memories were not clear. All he knew was that he had woken up one day, to find himself not where he expected to be in the village where he had been born, in his own bed, along with his wife.

He had found his way back to his village eventually only to find that it had been totally destroyed to where it was really no more than ruins. He had cried like he hadn't done in many years at the loss of his family, his friends and the people he had known all his life. He mourned for his wife and his children and made sure they were buried properly, before digging a mass grave for everyone else.

He really didn't remember how he had become immortal and he often agonized about why he had been spared when his family was no more. Several hundred years later he had discovered Mary in Spain, as they had met briefly and it was clear that she was pregnant. Dave had watched, but Mary had seemed very happy with her husband, but unfortunately, she died during childbirth, but that often happened back so long ago, so while Dave had been sad he had understood that sometimes bad things just happened as the medical technology back then, was very primitive compared to today and twins were especially dangerous for a woman to have, even for their kind, though they were more likely to come through it okay then a human.

Of course, Jennifer was well aware that he had been subtly courting her for the last several weeks and she had responded appropriately, but now, it was time to up the ante.

"Can I take you out to dinner?" Dave asked JJ as soon as she had served him his drink.

"Took you long enough to ask," JJ said immediately. "It seems like I've been waiting forever. I'll be happy to go to dinner with you."

Dave kissed the back of her hand like the true gentleman that he had been raised to be, causing Jennifer to blush a very pretty red in happiness and embarrassment.

"I was wondering what was taking you so long to ask me out as it was obvious you were interested," JJ said.

"All things in good time, my lady," Dave said gallantly. "Put on something fancy, as I'm going to take you to a very exclusive place."

"I don't really own anything that fancy," JJ protested mildly.

"Well, we'll just have to change that," Dave said mysteriously.

Dave got her address and told her that an appropriate outfit and accessories would be delivered in time for their date.

Normally, JJ would have protested as she could shop for her own clothes but she also knew she didn't really have time to go shopping before her date tonight and since she had been waiting for what seemed like forever for Dave to ask her out, she didn't make that big a deal out of it. Besides, it wasn't like she could afford a $500 gown on her salary, not to mention all the accessories that went along with such a dress, so she was grateful for Dave's thoughtfulness.

She thanked him with a kiss on the cheek that caused him to beam at her happily.

"I'll meet you at your apartment at 7 o'clock," Dave said. "Appropriate attire will be delivered within the next couple of hours."

"I had better get home then," JJ said. "It's a good thing my shift is finished."

If Dave had his way he is mate wouldn't have to work in this place much longer, but that could wait awhile. Of course, if Jennifer really loved her job that he wouldn't protest if she kept it, but he had the impression that it was only a job so she could put food on the table.

"Why don't I escort you home, my lady?" Dave offered gallantly. Dave knew that Jennifer didn't own a car, she hadn't been able to afford one, so she always took the bus or the subway whenever she needed to go. That too would change once they were actually together.

"That sounds just fine, kind sir," Jennifer said smiling and trying not to blush as that was the effect that David Rossi had on her.

"My lady?" Dave asked cordially offering JJ his arm like a true gentleman.

JJ took it without hesitation and Dave escorted his mate out the entrance of the restaurant where she worked

A lot of women watched Dave go rather envying JJ's closeness to a man they coveted for themselves.

~~~Dave and JJ~~~
"This is marvelous, Dave," JJ sincerely complimented her date. "How in the world did you get us into somewhere so it's exclusive on such short notice?"
"I'm well known around here," Dave shrugged casually.
When he didn't say was that most everybody knew he had money to burn and when he asked for a reservation he got one, as people knew he was generous to a fault and gave large tips. All he had to do was call for a reservation and a spot would be made for him and whoever he was bringing.
JJ said nothing, but it was clear that she knew what he meant, but that didn't surprise Dave at all as his mate was a very intelligent lady. She also knew better than to mention what she had figured out, at least in public and definitely not before they got to know each other much better. It would be considered the height of rudeness to do so. An Omega being rude to an Alpha could be dangerous unless they knew each other very well.
"This dress you had delivered is absolutely gorgeous and so are the accessories," JJ said instead.
The dress was blue the exact same color as her eyes and she was wearing a sapphire necklace and bracelet that were probably worth a fortune if they were real and not costume jewelry. Somehow, JJ suspected, that they were the real deal as Dave didn't seem the type to go for fake when it came to jewelry at least. From what she had heard he could afford the real thing.
"You're welcome," Dave said smiling.
"I'm going to hate to give it back though it's so pretty," JJ sighed, as there was no way that she could keep the lovely gown that Dave had delivered to her apartment, as she couldn't afford to pay for it unfortunately. Besides, where would she wear it? There was no guarantees that a serious relationship would develop between her and Dave, as this was only the first date after all. That's not to say that she hadn't been strongly attracted to David Rossi from the very beginning, but just because she was didn't necessarily mean anything would come of their dating. This could be a onetime thing or they could date for the next few weeks, but then decide they just weren't suitable. Of course, JJ could not help but secretly hope that their relationship worked out. She had no idea that she was going to get her wish or that she was going to learn some things that shocked her to her core.
"Oh? Didn't I tell you, it's yours to keep," Dave said causally.
"I couldn't do that," JJ protested automatically. "It's too much and where would I wear it?"
"Oh, we'll be going a lot of places like that so you don't have to worry," Dave smiled at her. "Soon, you'll have a whole wardrobe of fancy outfits."
JJ knew that there was no point of arguing so instead she kissed Dave quite thoroughly as the song they were dancing to ended.
"Well, I'm just going to have to do other things for you if I'm going to get kissed like that," Dave grinned goofily.
"What did you expect when you're being so generous?" JJ asked smiling. "I've never owned anything so fancy in my life and the jewelry is spectacular."
"You're quite welcome," Dave said, as he and JJ took their seat at their table since dinner had arrived.
Dave had talked JJ into trying lobster for the first time in her life since she couldn't usually afford it and the minute the first bite hit her mouth she knew she was in love. The meat was nice and succulent and practically melted in her mouth as she chewed and swallowed.
"This is really good," JJ said once she had swallowed.
"I'm glad you're enjoying it," Dave said having watched JJ's astonishment at the taste and then the enjoyment that crossed her face as she took her first bite and swallowed.
"I don't think enjoyment quite covers it," JJ smiled, as she and Dave sat across from each other.
The restaurant Dave had chosen was exclusive and the atmosphere was very romantic, which was why she had been so astonished that Dave had managed to get them in such short notice. The service had so far been exceptional and also far more polite then the places she could afford to go. The server, a handsome male who looked a little younger than Dave, had come back to their table much more often than happened in the types of restaurants she could afford to frequent.
JJ knew that she was going to treasure this experience for the rest of her life if things didn't work out between her and Dave. After all, it was clear that Dave could have anybody he wanted, so why would he want her? She was moderately pretty, but not gorgeous and Dave could have a whole platoon of gorgeous women if he wanted them. JJ would think that he'd marry somebody with at least some money to their name just so somebody who didn't have any wouldn't rob him blind if they divorced. She supposed that was what prenup agreements were for though and if Dave was smart he would take one out before he married anyone, just as a precaution.
"I guess that just means we'll have to come back so you can try some of the other items on the menu," said Dave causally.
What Dave was implying thrilled JJ deep inside. Dave seemed to be implying that he wanted other dates with her and nothing would make her happier and not just because she would get to go to more places like this, but because she had been attracted Dave from the very first time she had met him. She and Dave had been flirting on near a constant basis over the last several weeks, so JJ had suspected from the beginning that Dave would want more than one date with her, but it was still nice to hear it confirmed. The way she saw it you didn't flirt with someone every day for weeks unless you wanted something far more serious than a single date.
"That sounds really nice," JJ said trying to act normally. "I'm looking forward to the next date."
"Good, because it will be many more dates and if all goes well we'll start court in a few weeks," Dave said making his intentions plain. "Of course, if you aren't interested in courting in two or three weeks then I'm not going to force you."
"Let's get to know each other better, before we start talking about courting, since that is so much more serious than just a few dates," JJ suggested. "I'm not against it or anything, I just don't want to rush anything. Rushing just means you might make a bad mistake."
"Which is only sensible," Dave said smiling.
JJ relaxed and saw that Dave didn't take offense at what she had said, like some Alphas would have. It only made sense to get to know each other better when you only dated for a few weeks before you started the much more serious courting, but some Alphas would've taken offense at an Omega making such a suggestion, no matter how politely it was worded.
The two finished their dinner as they talked.
"So, one more twirl around the dance floor before I take you home, my lady?" Dave asked with a charming grin.
"Sounds delightful," JJ smiled, as she took Dave's offered arm.
"Of course, if you want dessert just let me know and I'll be happy to get us some," Dave said, as he and JJ took another twirl around the dance floor. "Their chocolate cheesecake is supposed to be spectacular. At least that's what I've heard."
"Oh! Tempting!" JJ moaned dramatically. "Maybe next time, because I'm too full to even consider desert at the moment. That lobster was really good and the salad is one of the best I've had in a restaurant."
"Whatever you wish, my lady," Dave said smiling.
The two danced closely together and Dave was very tempted to rush things, but knew if he did he would likely lose Jennifer completely so he would take things slowly. The fact that he was immortal and had no idea how he had become so would create disbelief since it was so fantastic. He and JJ needed to get to know each other much better, particularly her before he revealed what he was. Dave was hoping that if they dated for a while that she wouldn't reject him once he revealed his big secret. He wasn't entirely sure how she would react because it wasn't like he had ever actually met Jennifer's incarnations other than briefly.
Dave was well aware how hard something as fantastic as immortality was to believe and it wasn't like he could explain how he became immortal because he didn't know. All he really remembered was waking up, over a mile away from his village. By the time he had gotten back to the village it was in ruins and everybody was dead. He had wandered around to various places for several decades after digging several mass graves, though he didn't really remember much of that time either. He figured he was in shock for a long time.
Eventually though, he had snapped out of it and wondered the world picking up various skills as he went along and making friends as well. He realized several decades later that he hadn't aged from the time he had woken up. He had still looked exactly the same as he had 30 years before, when he had finally looked at himself in the mirror. He knew he should look far older than he did, as he should have been nearly 70 or dead, yet he still looked exactly the same as he had three decades ago.
Dave had tried to think back to what had happened when he had woken up so many years ago, but his memories were blurred at best. He wasn't sure if he had some kind of high fever or if there was some other cause for his wonky memories, but as much as he tried he couldn't really remember anything like how he had ended out over a mile from the village. He did have dreams occasionally, but they made absolutely no sense. He saw a man leaning over him one with blonde hair and kind, intelligent eyes. The man had said something, but what Dave hadn't a clue, as he had been to out of it to pay attention. Dave wasn't even sure that what he vaguely remembered was real or if perhaps it had been the shock. He believed that he had drank something that tasted nasty, that had a cooppery taste to it. He seemed to have a nasty taste in his mouth for days afterwards come to think of it.
"So shall I pay the check and take you home?" Dave asked solicitously once the song had ended.
"I hate for this evening to end, but I have to work tomorrow unfortunately," JJ sighed.
"I'll pick you up after work tomorrow if you want," Dave offered. "It'll save you from having to ride the bus after it gets dark."
Dave's concern for her welfare was very touching, so she accepted graciously. Besides, it wasn't like spending time with the man she had a crush on since the first time she'd met him would be a hardship. Dave was right the bus could be dangerous once it got dark, as it was easier to murder someone quietly without anybody noticing, though why anyone would want to murder someone like her was beyond her understanding. Still, it was nice to have someone care for her welfare, other than her brother.
"Okay," JJ agreed with a smile, as Dave paid the check, with a large tip added before escorting her out to his car.
"Good," Dave said smiling slightly glad to see that Jennifer was willing to let him pick her up from work and that she didn't see it as him trying to curtail her freedom, something he'd never do.
Dave drove up to her apartment house and got out of the car to open her door for her. "I'll see you after you get off work and if you aren't too tired perhaps, we can go to a late movie or something, have dinner beforehand."
"Sounds really good. I'll look forward to seeing you," JJ smiled, as she kissed his cheek. "Not every day has to be really fancy, Dave, though every once in a while I won't complain."
Dave watched smiling, as she disappeared into her apartment house before he drove away thinking that the first date had gone very well. Still, he was going to take her advice and not do anything fancy all the time, though that didn't mean he wasn't going to spoil her.
