Location: The Old World Scar – Outer Crater Perimeter

The land here looked nothing like Gamindustri. The sky above was a swirling canvas of purple and black, flickering with unstable lightning. The ground was cracked and dead, as if scorched by an event too massive for time to heal. Craters miles wide littered the zone, remnants of a cataclysm long buried by history. At the edge of one such crater hovered the group— CPUs and Candidates alike, eyes fixed on the gaping abyss below. Vert floated a little higher, scanning the edges with her prism. "There's energy here— deeper than anything I've sensed so far."

Nepgear adjusted her visor. "There's dimensional drift, but it's not spreading naturally. Something is tethering it."

Noire's eyes narrowed. "Or someone."

Histoire's voice echoed through their comms. "My scans confirm an anomaly at the center of the crater. It is… folding space around itself, like a cloaked star. I believe that is where the fifth fragment rests."

"Then we don't waste time," Blanc said.

Rom and Ram hovered beside her, both fully in sync now. "We'll cover you," Ram grinned. "No more getting knocked out."

The group descended into the crater, spiraling down through jagged spires of obsidian and remnants of structures long erased from memory. The deeper they went, the less the world obeyed its own rules— gravity twisted, colors bled into one another, and sound echoed in reverse. Finally, at the crater's heart… they saw it. A floating core of energy, locked inside an inverted sphere of fractured glass and dark crystal. The fifth fragment, pulsing faintly like a dying heartbeat. But it was not alone. Dozens of corrupted guardians stood around it— beasts of molten metal, fallen constructs, and even twisted remnants of what looked like lost nation tech, all shaped into nightmare forms.

Vert exhaled softly. "Of course it's never easy."

Nepgear nodded. "We'll need to synchronize. Candidates and CPUs— together."

The group formed into pairs— each CPU standing with her little sister. Energy flared as the battlefield lit up with a rainbow of combat light. Neptune & Nepgear. Noire & Uni. Blanc, Rom & Ram. Vert, standing alone— but radiant. The monsters turned. The first one roared. And the final battle for the fifth fragment began.
