Part 19: Four Flames in the Rift

Neptune & Nepgear – The Trickster Sisters

As the corrupted guardians surged forward, a molten wyvern swooped in, mouth glowing with plasma.

"Alright, Nep Jr.," Neptune grinned, flipping her sword up. "Time to show 'em what a little sister act looks like!"

Nepgear nodded, already charging her beam saber. "I'll keep its flight path locked— take the opening when I mark it!"

The two moved as one— Neptune zipping between chunks of floating debris with acrobatic flair while Nepgear provided precise suppressing fire from above, each shot timed to push the wyvern into an increasingly tight a flash, Nepgear's visor blinked green. "Now!"

Neptune dove in a corkscrew motion, spinning her blade midair. "Neptune Break!"

The wyvern screeched as a spiraling shockwave exploded from her impact, flinging it into the crater wall.

"Boom!" Neptune posed. "One less dragon-snake-dino-thing!"

Nepgear giggled. "Three more on the left."

"Dang. No break time?"

"None!"

Noire & Uni – Precision and Pressure

On the eastern ridge, the Lastation sisters moved like a machine. Dozens of mechanical sentries opened fire, launching barrages of synchronized plasma. Noire's sword glowed crimson as she deflected a hail of projectiles in rapid succession. "Focus fire left flank!"

Uni, already perched on a hovering fragment of rock, aimed her custom rifle. "Target acquired. Flare Core— firing!" A massive blast engulfed three of the constructs, scattering their twisted armor into molten pieces. She shifted instantly, charging a second shot. "Your move, sis!"

"Cover me!" Noire dashed through the gap, slicing clean through another guardian before spinning midair to deliver a shield bash into one that tried to flank her.

"You've been practicing," she smirked.

"I never stop," Uni replied, flipping a fresh clip into her rifle.

The two back-to-back now, their energy wings flared in sync, lighting the rift in blue and red.

Blanc, Rom & Ram – The Fury of Ice

Near the center, Blanc fought like a living storm. Her warhammer crackled with raw divine energy, each swing leaving shockwaves that shattered the ground. Rom and Ram were flanking her— Rom creating walls of ice to control movement while Ram blitzed in and out, dual blades spinning like drills. A construct made of corrupted crystal tried to impale Rom from behind— but Blanc moved like lightning, intercepting the strike and snapping the spear in two with a howl of rage.

"You don't. Touch. My sisters!"

Ram launched upward and came crashing down with a fiery cry: "RAM STAMPEDE!" Ice and fire erupted across the battlefield. Rom's magic exploded outward in a frost nova, locking several enemies in place.

"Blanc!" Rom called. "Now!"

White Heart's eyes glowed white-hot. She leapt high into the air, hammer raised. "White Apocalypse!" The crater trembled as she brought it down, wiping out a dozen enemies in a single blow.

Vert – The Lone Radiance

Vert stood alone near the vortex edge— yet she seemed untouchable. An entire wave of winged constructs descended upon her, but with every elegant motion, she weaved through them like a dancer. Her spear extended with blinding light, and each strike pierced through armor and circuitry with divine precision. "You poor souls," she whispered, spinning as a wind barrier flared out around her. "Forced into this form… twisted by someone else's hunger."

A massive beast— half machine, half corrupted plant— lunged from below. Vert didn't move. She simply raised her palm. "Heaven's Spiral— release." From the sky, lances of holy light rained down in perfect formation, impaling the monstrosity in one coordinated strike. She exhaled, glowing like a beacon. "That's one less burden on this world." The battlefield was clearing. The final wave was falling.

As the last corrupted guardian collapsed into dust, all eight sisters floated toward the fragment's containment sphere. It pulsed weakly now… but it was clear: this was the fifth and final piece. Neptune extended her hand. "We've come too far to lose now." They all placed their hands on the prism, one by one. With a harmonic flash, the fifth fragment pulsed— then vanished into the same containment system as the others.
