"Wake up, wake up Shade, it's your first day, remember." Shade heard an excited Toni say.
"Toni, not a morning cub, remember. I'm up, I'm up." Shade told her getting up
She was making her bed, packing her backpack only Toni noticed Shade was cuddling Lil Shade making Toni realise that like moving into the house, her first day of school might be stressful giving her an idea telling her to put Lil Shade in her backpack so she could hug her, if kindergarten got too stressful seeing her do this.
"Thanks Toni, as you're pretty smart. Kindergarten helps that, I guess." Shade told her sniffling.
"Toni, Shade breakfast. P,us it's Shade's first day." Maddie called seeing Toni super speed downstairs and Shade teleport only Sonic and Shadow noticed she'd been crying. "I'm fine dads, Toni was helping like the big sis she is." Shaxe told them. "Hey, we tell you that it's okay to feel your feelings and it involves today." Sonic told her making her nod.
"That makes sense. Toni help Shade out on her first day, okay." Shadow told her making Toni nod.
"Lil Shade's probably going with her, as Toni takes Lil Toni with her." Tom said softly.
After breakfast, Sonic and Shadow were taking both Toni and Shade to kindergarten only the teacher was curious about Shade, noticing she looked more like Shadow and introverted seeing Toni lead her twin sister to the cubbies encouragingly but felt her dads hug them but give Toni power bumps before Toni ran off to put her things away with Shade softly and slowly following her.
"Don't worry Shads, Shade will be okay. Toni's got her back." Sonic reassured Shadow.
Shade then joined Toni and the other kids on the rug for the morning meeting, only Shade was quiet, as Toni was hyper and wiggling around but felt Shade squeeze her paw gently like their dads when she was like this at home which was helping Toni calm down a lil impressing their teacher as Shade smiled shyly.
Toni was curious seeing they were decorating their cubby tags to show themselves which she saw Shade smiling drawing herself and Shadow flying making her impressed. "Maybe you can draw you and daddy racing." Shade suggested majing her eyes widen in awe. " Yeah." Toni cheered making Shade cover her ears with her paws making Toni realise she was being loud. "Am I being a donut hole l8ke Poppa tells daddy sometimes." Toni asked.
"No, just a lil loud but use your quiet voice like at home, okay." Shade told her giving her a thumbs up.
"That's good." Toni said drawing her and their dads hug them racing like Shade said.
"I hope Shade's having a good first day. Even if Toni's with her." Shadow mumbled as Sonic nodded.
"She'll tell you when we pick them up. But it's sweet you care about them." Sonic told him.
It was lunchtime and they were home but Shadow was havibg mini burritos while Sonic was having mini chilli dogs only Shadow was concerned for Shade remembering how anxious she'd been when he and Sonic had dropped her and Toni off at school but had been quiet all morning even using coffee as a coping mechanism which Sonic had gotten knowing he'd used the coffee scented reed infuser in their room while meditating by it as Knuckles had taught them to meditate along with Toni and Shade
Later that afternoon they saw Maddie return with Toni and Shadebut Shadow was asleep deciding not to wake him huggingvboth their cubs noticing Toni happy but Shade quiet saying it was fine making him sense something had happened.
