Chapter 2: The Fire

Meanwhile, trees fell and men come forward as they were starting to tire out cutting down trees however the Big Boss as among them as he stood behind one logger man.

"Why have you all stopped?" Big Boss asked his minions.

"Too much to cut down? What about the animals? They'll be in our way?" Logging Foreman asked.

Big Boss has an idea in his mind. He brought some matches and lit them before throwing them to the ground.

"I will make it easier for y'all. Wipe out those tree huggers and all those pigeons they're looking for." Big Boss ordered.

"Are you sure about that? It will make us monsters?" Logging Foreman told his boss.

"Yeah, I don't think this is a good idea. Wiping out macaws is wrong." The logging man said.

"You signed up for this company." Big Boss said.

It took a couple of minutes to find Linda and Tulio's camp site where Blu landed. All without the tribe criticize him including Eduardo.

I should never have expected more from a human's pet.

Those words were still in his head. He knew he was better than being a pet, he was a companion to Linda as he remembered. Being all the years with Linda. To him she was family. He loved Linda with all of his heart. If it wasn't for her, he wouldn't have been in Minnesota and meet Jewel. Meeting Jewel was so special to him. He miss Minnesota enjoying the comforts of the bookstore.

He heard someone in the bushes as he turned his head to see if it could be Linda or Tulio. He would rather be with his human friends than Jewel's tribe.

"Linda? Linda?" Blu called out.

Suddenly, out of the bushes it was Roberto.

"I knew it, I knew it. Eduardo was right! Traitor!" Roberto shouted.

"Roberto, you don't understand." Blu said.

"What I don't understand you traitor. Siding with humans?" Roberto retorted as he came up to Blu.

"I am not a traitor." Blu said.

"Yes you are, you will be banished from our tribe you traitor and don't come back. You should live in your own tribe of humans." Roberto said.

"Listen, I am sick and tired of you when I first saw you. You been getting on my nerves when you were dancing with Jewel, flirting with her, and you sing to her. Yesterday you and Eduardo been in my throat because I am a pet. I am not a pet, I am a companion. The reason why I was raised by humans in the first place, I was taken by my home by poachers when I was a little kid. I never knew my parents." Blu told Roberto. Roberto is so shocked, he feel guilty on accusing Blu.

"Blu, I am so sorry. My intention was not to steal Jewel from you. I see you are a good guy, good father, and good husband. I just want to be friends with you and your family." Roberto said.

"How do you hate humans so much?" Blu asked Roberto.

"Oh, humans are bad. They lure you in, they trapped you, and destroy your mind. Polly want a cracker? Polly want a cracker? No! Enough crackers! I hate crackers!" Roberto said.

"The worse part, I got a ring and named me Polly." Roberto show the ring to Blu as the ring named Polly with a heart around the O.

"Roberto, please listen to me. There are more humans that want to help with nature. Not all humans are bad." Blu said.

Roberto looked at Blu as he put his leg down.

"I can't trust them. I am afraid of humans." Roberto panic.

Suddenly both birds perked up as Blu and Roberto looked around their surroundings. Roberto is so scared. Blu hear screams and cries of other birds and animals as then it was obvious what was ahead of them moving terribly fast at a rate. It was smoke and fire sweeping across the jungle coming right at the camp and towards the tribe's sanctuary, he immediately flew down to Roberto as he could see his reaction.

Roberto was frozen as he couldn't open his wings up as he too could sense the fire was near as the smoke was growing larger and larger in the sky, growing into a thick black.

"Come on, Roberto!" Blu called out to him.

"It's them. It's them! It's them!" Roberto panicked as he started convulsing around awkwardly as then Blu caught him up in his talons off the ground if that could wake him up however still did no good.

"Roberto, get out of there." Blu said as he pull Roberto out of the way.

"Fire! Fire! Fire! I hate forest fires. Not again! Not again! No more crackers!" Roberto kept screaming as he tried to fly away and he was scared of the fire. Immediately Blu landed on a tree a safe distance away from the fire as he knocked Roberto against one branch that put him out of his daze before being grabbed by the hook of his beak by Blu.

"Snap out of it! Look, I have to find my friends. You fly back and warn the others and get them out of the fire's way. You got it?" He commanded Roberto, He couldn't believe he was ordering Jewel's childhood friend or her former love interest to even do the job.

"Yeah. I got it." Roberto responded in a daze before Blu yelled again.

"Okay. Go!" Blu ordered.

"Okay!" Roberto flew off in a hurry as Blu then headed off to at least know where Linda and Tulio were and immediately call the authorities.

"Humans, humans!" Roberto still yelled out; this bird hopefully couldn't be the death to his own kind.

There is a fire in the Amazon guys. Will Blu save the day?
