Chapter 3: Training For The War

The war had been declared between the blue macaws and buffon macaws. Blu, Jewel, their kids, and the rest of their friends made it back to the Blue macaw tribe territory.

The meeting is happening in the small area they had their victory party when celebrating their victory against the humans and saving their home from the loggers. Blu plan this meeting and he told every blue macaw to come to the meeting. Blu, Jewel, Roberto, Banjo, Grace, and Stevon all stood on stage while the blue macaws sit in rows together.

Blu knows he did not like being on stage and he is quite nervous. He is doing the meeting for his kind. Stevon wants to do a speech about the war against the buffon macaws. Blu cleared his throat as everyone was silence. "Okay everyone, as you know that our former leader of our clan Eduardo has been kidnapped and attacked but me and my team track down his attacker."

"Who was it?" A blue macaw in the crowd asked, raising his voice so Blu can hear him.

"It was the leader of the buffon macaws. His name is Malcolm." Blu answered.

Another blue macaw raised his wing up for permission to speak. "Why did he attacked Eduardo?"

"Malcolm told us that he and Eduardo were once friends but he is upset with Eduardo because he blame him for the loss of his daughter named Gretchen. Stevon, it's your turn to speak." Blu said as he turned to Stevon.

"Hello everyone like Blu said Malcolm was the one who attacked Eduardo and the worst part is he challenge us to a war." Stevon declared, and this cause every single blue macaw to gasped in shock and panic.

The crowd began to panic at the fear of going to war with the Buffon macaws. This is bad for them. They are not ready for the war against the buffon macaws.

Blu calm them down but they calm down. He was relieved that the blue macaws calm down. Roberto stepped in and he has a speech. "Look everyone. We didn't expect this to happen, the buffon macaws started a war, it was their idea. We can't run on our problems, we have to fight and survive. Right Blu?"

"Yeah, we have to fight together." Blu smiled. "Now according to the war, the war will happen at the Pit Of Doom."

The blue macaws started to panic again, Stevon tried to calm them down but they are still panicking.

"Everyone please calm down, I have something to say." Stevon raised his voice so the blue macaws can listen on what he has to say. The blue macaws stop panicking.

"Listen up everyone, Stevon have something to say." Roberto said.

"Thank you." Stevon said to Roberto.

"You're welcome." Roberto said.

"Look, I know you are all scared of the war against the buffon macaws. I admit it, the war is going is going to be very challenging for us all but I care about my tribe especially my adoptive father Eduardo. I went on this adventure with Blu, Jewel, their friends and family to track down Eduardo's attacker. I did it because I want to help my friends find Eduardo's attacker who did this to him. It's time to prepare for the war and we are going to win." Stevon told everyone.

The blue macaws cheered so loudly. Stevon is amazed when everyone listens to his speech. Blu, Jewel, Banjo, Grace, Roberto, and Stevon saw Eduardo and Mimi. His right wing, his right talon, and his entire body were still wrapped in leaves and vines to help him heal up faster.

Eduardo can still walk but he is using the wooden crutch in order for him to walk.

Jewel is relieved that she sees her father is walking. She ran to greet him. She hugged him carefully. "Daddy, you are okay."

"I am fine sweetie." Eduardo said as he hugged his daughter. He saw his son-in-law Blu went to him. "Blu, we are going to win the war with the buffon macaws. Thank you for finding my attacker. Malcolm was my former friend now arch-nemesis." Eduardo said.

Blu smiled at his father-in-law, "Of course, anything for my family and I will do it. Stevon helps us too along with my family and friends."

"Thank you too son." Eduardo thanked his new adoptive son.

"You're welcome dad." Stevon said.

"Dad, the buffon macaws started this war. It was not Blu, he didn't start it." Jewel said.

"I know he didn't honey, I have trust in Blu. Your friend with the bottle-cap named Nico told me along with his friends Pedro, Lillian, and Sofia. They explained to me what happened." Eduardo said.

"Okay daddy." Jewel said.

"I decide to train Stevon so he can be ready for the war against the buffon macaws." Eduardo said.

"Really dad, are you sure I will be ready to fight the buffon macaws?" Stevon asked.

"Of course Stevon, you are still new to the tribe. I will train you good." Eduardo said.

"Okay dad." Stevon believed his adoptive father.

"Do you want to learn how to fight enemies?" Eduardo said.

"Yeah." Stevon said.

"Then I will help you." Eduardo said.

"Okay." Stevon said.

Eduardo help Stevon gain strength and confidence to win the war with his tribe. Eduardo decides to train him.

Stevon facing forward as he tried to push himself up from the ground to do push-ups. "I got this."

"Come on, more push-ups!" Eduardo demanded. "I want at least one hundred push-ups before we move on."

Stevon did one hundred push-ups.

After his push-ups, it was now time for the next part of Stevon's training and it was time to learn how to defend himself. Blu, Jewel, Banjo, and Grace with other blue macaws standing on the trees watching Stevon train for the war.

"Okay Stevon, for this exercise. You got to learn how to defend yourself." Eduardo said. "Your opponent will be Roberto."

Stevon looked directly at Roberto. Roberto wave his wings and Stevon waved at him back. "Okay I will do this."

"Okay Stevon, pretend Roberto is your enemy. He plans to destroy you." Eduardo said.

Stevon did Front Kicks, Side Kicks, Round Kicks, and Punches against Roberto. Kicks are effective strikes. Stevon is doing good on fighting Roberto.

"Excellent job Stevon." Eduardo praised him for his fighting skills.

"Any questions, Stevon?" Eduardo asked.

"Yes, I do." Stevon said.

"Sure, you can ask me anything." Eduardo said.

"Did you do all this before you was the leader of the tribe?" Stevon asked him. He is preparing the war for his new friends, his adoptive father, and the rest of his kind.

"Of course I did." Eduardo answered. "My father taught me, and then his father, his father, his father, then his father. Then I give the leader of the tribe position to Blu. I train Blu in order for him to become the leader of the tribe."

"I see. Do you think I will become the leader of the tribe in the future?" Stevon asked his adoptive father.

"It is up to Blu. Blu will decide who will be the next tribe leader after him." Eduardo said.

"Now, let's do set ups." Eduardo said.

"How many set ups I have to do?" Stevon asked.

"Do ninety setups." Eduardo answered. "You can do it, Stevon. You been very focus on your training. Think about the things you love like your new friends, your girlfriend Layla, and Daisy who died." Eduardo said.

"You're right Eduardo." Stevon said.

Stevon did ninety push-ups.

The next training Stevon is with Daniel and Hudson stood in the middle of the area of the lily pad. Daniel raised his wings and now it is his turn to train Stevon. "Okay Stevon, now I am going to teach you wrestling moves. I want you to charge at me. My assistant Hudson will tell us to begin."

"Begin." Hudson ordered.

Stevon charged towards Daniel was fast. He punched Daniel's belly.

"You did good. Let's do this again." Daniel said.

"Ready, set, go." Hudson said.

Stevon charged at Daniel again. Hudson is very impressed.

After a full day of training, the sun had set and Stevon finally needed to rest after his long day of training with his adopted father. He and Eduardo went back to Blu and Jewel's tree hollow.

"Ohh, what a day." Stevon said as he was breathing.

"Stevon, how was training with Eduardo?" Blu asked.

"Training was excellent, I was focused but it did took a lot of work but I did it." Stevon said.

"Stevon, I know you're in pain but I am proud of you for doing all this. If the blue macaws were injured and can't fight anymore. It will be up to you to save everyone." Jewel admitted with a smile.

"Me. I did it for all of you and the rest of our kind." Stevon said.

Layla went the hollow to see her boyfriend.

"Hey Stevon, how was training? Did Eduardo train you well?" Layla smiled as she asked her boyfriend.

"Yes Eduardo trained me well. He was a good coach. I listen to all of his instructions." Stevon told Layla.

Layla smiled at her boyfriend.

"Stevon, you passed all your training." Eduardo proud of him. "The tribe will fight too, if the tribe gets injured and hurt when they can't fight anymore. You have to save everyone and I know you can do this. If you were able to defend our home from evil people who tried to destroy our home then I believe you can beat Malcolm and the buffon macaws."

Mimi is next to her younger brother and looked towards her new nephew. "I believe in you, too Stevon."

The seven teenage kids stepped up and all stood in front of their uncle. Tiago, Max, and Junior stood on the left, Carla and Crystal stood in the middle, and Bia and Belle stood on the left. The teenage kids spoke to their uncle together, giving him support for the war. "We believe in you too, Uncle Stevon."

The last one to say something to Stevon was Layla. She smiled taking one of Stevon's wings in her own. "Stevon, I know when I first met you, you are the bravest guy I ever known. When you made a speech to us and the tribe about your knowledge of humans and how we should defend our home. You lead the tribe against those bad humans. In the future, I see I have an alpha in my life someone to take charge, someone will take care of me, and my future children. You will protect me from bad birds and bad humans."

Stevon raised a smile across his beak after hearing the speeches from his girlfriend and his family. They were right and he can do it. He loves that his girlfriend and family giving him support. "You are right Layla and you guys are right too. I love you all. You all more than my friends, you all my family."

Blu, Jewel, Bia, Carla, Tiago, Belle, Crystal, Junior, Max, Eduardo, Mimi, and Layla smiled at Stevon's words.

"You need to get rest for Friday, Stevon." Eduardo said.

Meanwhile at the Buffon Macaw Tribe territory. Malcolm is trying to think of a new evil plan.

"Malcolm, is everything okay?" Selena asked her mate.

"Yes everything is fine and I am trying to think of a new plan. I want to win this war and defeat those blue macaws once and for all especially Eduardo. I am glad that Eduardo is injured." Malcolm told his mate.

"What's the plan boss?" The other buffon macaw asked.

"The plan is I will send my minions to capture two blue macaws." Malcolm explained his plan.

"Which one boss?" The female buffon macaw asked.

"I want you to capture two blue macaws named Jewel and Grace tonight when everyone is asleep and bring them to me." Malcolm said.

"Yes boss." The buffon macaws said respectfully to their boss.

A day of training for Stevon has been built into a warrior. Eduardo's training will be enough for Stevon to defeat the leader of the buffon macaws, Malcolm and his clan if the Blue Macaw Tribe was injured.
