Lucas: Of all places to move to, why choose Tree Hill?

Amy: Didn't want to but my dad had a list of cities for us to move to and according to him, Tree Hill is the best place for me.

Haley: Amy, it's not the same. Lucas has changed, he's not that person anymore.

Amy: I'm not the same either, fell in love with this guy, Colin, he fell in a coma, he later woke up, when he was in surgery, he died. So, yeah, I broke the pact.

Lucas: Same here, in fact, my current girlfriend, Brooke, the niece of Detective Paul Davis over there, is pregnant with my child. But, she is giving me sour looks right now because she thinks I love her best friend, Peyton. Paul knows about the whole mess, and he's trying to keep it from blowing up in our faces. I was worried because of the pact, I am relieved now. Yes, I'm dating the niece of a cop. He has men working for him, so he might know what's going on without seeing it.

That night at the Davis house, Lucas, Brooke, Paul and Marcus are present.

Lucas: My dad didn't want me, okay? Not just that he didn't want to claim me, he didn't want me to be born, I always thought that when I started a family I'd be, older, and settled, and I'd be-.

Brooke: In love?

Lucas: Yeah. But so did my mom.

Brooke: Lucas-.

Lucas: No, this whole thing scares the hell out of me, okay? But whatever you decide to do, I'll be there. And if you're not ready, then you're not ready, but if you want to have this baby, then so do I. And whatever it takes for me to be a good father, I'll be there. Always. I promise you. I won't let you down. (She starts crying) Hey.

Brooke: I lied.

Lucas: What?

Brooke: I'm not pregnant.

Lucas: But I saw the test.

Brooke: I know. Then when the doctor called he said I wasn't pregnant, he said that can happen.

Paul: So, you lied about being pregnant?

Lucas: Okay, no, no, no. I was standing right there when he called.

Brooke: And you had just called me a slut.

Lucas: So you lied to me to punish me?! How could you do that?

Brooke: How could you cheat on me with my best friend?!

Paul: He didn't cheat on you with Peyton, almost did, not did, there's a difference between almost did and did. I'm gonna be forwarding this to 2 of my men, Tony Lewis and Richard Williams.

Marcus: That's because this was all a lie?! You had us worried sick and you weren't even pregnant?!

Brooke: I was not, in fact, Lucas, we are over!

Paul: Forwarding this to Amy as well.

Brooke: Uncle Paul, that will make everything worse.

Lucas: Brooke, Amy was never my girlfriend, and she didn't deserve to be dragged into this. And now your uncle will be forwarding this mess to her whether you like it or not.

Paul: I'm not done there. Brooke, that was a big lie and it could have had huge consequences. You're lucky you're not pregnant. And Lucas is right, whether you like it or not, I'm telling Amy. Now, Brooke, due to the pregnancy lie, I'm setting a curfew, no staying out past midnight unless you notify me or the Inspector.

Brooke: I figured you would say that. Surprised the punishment isn't bigger.

Paul: It will be bigger if you pull another stunt like this.

Lucas: Brooke, I'm gonna go.

Brooke: To Peyton?

Lucas: No, to Amy, I want to see the look on her face when Paul calls her and tells her everything. Unlike you, she will have the decency to be shocked. (leaves with Marcus)

Outside

Marcus: Amy will indeed be shocked, Lucas. This whole situation is a minefield.

At Amy's house

Amy: So, Paul's forwarding a message to 3 people and I'm one of them?

Marcus: Yes, he is. And it's going to be explosive.

Lucas: Don't know how you'll feel about this. (her phone rings) There's the message.

Amy: (picks up phone) Detective.

Paul: (on the phone) Ms. Abbott, earlier today, Lucas told you that my niece Brooke Davis was pregnant with his child. Well, she lied to all of us. She's not pregnant. She did it to manipulate Lucas for almost sleeping with her best friend. Because of that, I set her a curfew. She won't be staying out past midnight without notifying me or the Inspector. Also, Brooke broke up with Lucas. He figured that was coming.

Lucas: She didn't want me to be part of the supposed baby's life. So, she faked the whole pregnancy because of my actions and broke my heart.

Paul: (on the phone) Told Brooke that whether she likes it or not, I'm informing you about the situation. I hope it doesn't cause any more issues than it already has.

Amy: No trouble, Detective. In fact, it clears up a lot of things. Thank you for letting me know. (hangs up)

Lucas: You heard everything right, told me she was pregnant, told me she would take herself to the doctor, and then told me she didn't want me to be part of the baby's life. It was all a lie to get back at me. And then I was reminded about you and the pact, then Brooke told me she wasn't pregnant. Paul was right to set the curfew, she's been acting out of control. She was not the one who grew up with me.

Amy: Damn right she's not the one who grew up with you. I can't believe she'd pull a stunt like that. It's just... so cruel. We did address the pact earlier, we both broke it, me with Colin, you with Brooke. But, when I found out that this was the town we were moving to, stuff I thought I had buried in the past was just waiting to be dug up again.

Marcus: I'm clearly interrupting a moment, so I'm gonna go outside. (exits)

Lucas: We'll wait until tomorrow to figure out if we still have feelings for each other. But, I'll tell you this, I have missed you.

Amy: The feeling is mutual.

The following day, Lucas is talking to Marcus and Haley.

Marcus: Right now, if Lucas is worried to face anyone, it's Paul. He is Brooke's uncle and he's not one to mess with. Plus, you get answers regarding you and Amy.

Lucas: I've been looking back at my times with her, and I know what I feel. I need to talk to Paul about this. Maybe he can help me figure out what to do next.

Haley: Absolutely not, Brooke will be there. She's not going to take this well. If you face Paul, you need to do it somewhere where Brooke won't see you.

Lucas: That's not gonna be easy, Haley. Paul's house is basically Brooke's second home. He also has a cabin, he's not there unless something big goes down. Track him and Brooke down, I need to see him, I said Brooke because I need to know if she's at the same place.

Marcus: Got it.

Lucas is in his car driving when a phone rings.

Lucas: (picks up) Go ahead.

Marcus: (on phone) Paul is at his cabin, but he's not alone. It's not Brooke that's with him, though. She's out with friends.

Lucas: Good, I'll head to the cabin now. Thanks. (hangs up)

At the cabin

Paul: Lucas, I understand you were afraid to see me. But why the cloak and dagger routine?

Lucas: As you know, yesterday, I spoke to Amy, we said that today we will know if we still have feelings for each other, and we said we missed each other.

Paul: You gotta be careful, Peyton might still be in love with you, but the question is, do you still love Amy?

Lucas: (sighs) It's complicated, Paul. I mean, I do love Brooke, but she dumped me, and now there's this whole mess with the pregnancy scare. And when I saw Amy, it was like... it felt like I was seeing a part of my past that I never truly let go of. And you just reminded me of Peyton too.

Paul: Lucas, this is George Venturi, his family moved from London, Ontario, Canada, yet another place that the Army decided to take over. He has 3 kids, 2 sons, Derek, who is around your age, and Edwin, who's a couple of years younger, and a daughter, Marti. She's so young. He married Nora McDonald 2 weeks ago, she has 2 daughters of her own, Lizzie and someone else who's around your age, Casey. And I got a new guy because of London, Chuck Montgomery and one from Everwood, Bill Thompson.

Lucas: Expanding your group, nice to know.

Later, Lucas is talking to Haley and Marcus

Marcus: You and Amy spoke?

Lucas: Yes, we talked. It was... intense. We admitted we still have feelings, but with everything that's happened, I'm not sure how to navigate this. Told her about London.

Marcus: That's a new storm passing by, blended family with 2 parents, 5 kids, 2 of which are around the same age as you, Haley, Brooke and Amy. Derek and Casey are going to be a handful, especially since you and Derek have history.

Lucas: Derek's not the one I have history with of the new people from London, it's Casey. She's Nora's daughter, right?

Marcus: Nora's your mom's best friend, so you're going to be around them a lot. Especially Casey. She's the one you need to watch out for.

Haley: Yeah, Casey's a bit... complicated. But she's family now, and we have to find a way to get along. Also, Nathan and I are having a party, and Lucas, it would be nice if you came.

Lucas: I'll be there.

Marcus: Paul and I will be security there, so police presence will be subtle but effective. But, remember, we're there to celebrate, not stir up drama.

Haley: Both Peyton and Amy are going to be there.

At the Davis house, Paul and Marcus are talking.

Paul: Sir, our duties at the party will be strictly professional, but I can't ignore the potential drama between Lucas, Brooke, Peyton, and Amy. It's like a soap opera waiting to unfold. And now, Casey, oh boy. Lucas is picking Derek up, Brooke is not invited apparently.

Marcus: Your men ready?

Paul: Oh, yeah, they're ready. More security, the better.

Marcus: Lucas spoke to Peyton, they agree that they shouldn't have to avoid each other at all.

Paul: Good for them, I guess. Brooke's not invited, huh? That'll be interesting.

At Amy's house, she answers the door.

Woman: Amy Abbott?

Amy: Yeah?

Woman: I'm Casey, you and I need to talk.
