Episode 12: "Veil of Shadows"
[Tony, Edyn, Strag, and Spencer emerge from the Earth portal, stepping into the Moonlands.]
Tony: [cheerfully] Man, it feels good to be back! And we actually fixed Earth!
Spencer: Don't forget, Tony—the freeze spell won't last forever. But at least Agram will be weakened.
[Suddenly, Orwin rushes up to them, visibly distressed.]
Edyn: Orwin? What's wrong?
Orwin: The Underneath has been attacked!
Strag: [shocked] What?! That's not possible...
[Cut to the Final Hyren soaring over the Moonlands, carrying Tony, Edyn, and Strag.]
Tony: Don't worry, Strag. Maybe it's just one of Agram's scare tactics.
Strag: [serious] My family could be in danger, Tony. I have to see for myself.
[They arrive at The Underneath and land near Strag's old home. Strag bolts off.]
Strag: Mom?! Mom, where are you?!
Strag's Mother: [from inside] I'm in the bedroom, sweetie!
[Strag rushes in, relieved but worried.]
Strag: Are you okay? What happened?
Strag's Mother: I don't know who it was... I just remember explosions. I had to shield the house.
Strag: You shouldn't be using magic in your condition.
Strag's Mother: I'm feeling a little better, actually.
[A deep voice cuts through the tension.]
Strum: Why are you back?
[Strag turns to see his father standing in the doorway.]
[Meanwhile, Tony and Edyn trek through the Underneath tunnels.]
Tony: You think Chur could've done this?
Edyn: Probably not. He's likely stuck in Arderial's cloud barrier.
[A whisper catches their attention.]
Whisper: Psssst! Tony, Edyn!
[They turn, spotting Inara motioning from the shadows.]
Tony: Inara? What's going on?
Inara: I don't know who attacked... but they were once a resident here. They want revenge.
Edyn: Then we'll help.
Inara: [coldly] At least some of the Final Dreamers are still trying...
Tony: Strag is here—he's with his parents.
Inara: [hurt] He still left when his mom was sick...
[Back at Strag's house, Strag and his father sit in the kitchen.]
Strum: I thought you made it clear you never wanted to come back.
Strag: I came because of the attack. I am an Underneathian.
Strum: Then why do you keep leaving? Even when your mother is ill?
Strag: Because Agram threatens all realms. I had to protect them—not just us.
Strag: And instead of supporting me, you push me away.
Strum: [softening] Son... sometimes it's hard watching you risk everything. We just miss you.
[Strag's mother enters.]
Strag's Mother: Strum, this isn't helping. Strag has other people he cares about too.
Strum: [sighs] You're right. I just... I don't want to lose him—to Agram or his duties.
[Meanwhile, Tony, Edyn, and Inara enter the Underneath Arena.]
Tony: I hope Strag's okay.
Edyn: He'll figure it out.
Inara: He should've figured it out before leaving me alone.
Edyn: You have to forgive him. He'd hate himself if you never spoke again.
?: Awwww, people still care about Strag! How pathetic!
[They turn around in shock.]
All: TRYGAR?!
Trygar: That's right. I'm back!
Tony: You attacked the Underneath?
Trygar: With help from an old friend.
[Ashio steps out from the shadows.]
Edyn & Tony: ASHIO?!
Ashio: Yep. Trygar freed me, and now we're tearing this realm apart!
Edyn: Not if we can help it!
Tony & Edyn: WITH THIS ANAMITE, I IMAGINE—
Edyn: Ugger!
Tony: Furok!
Inara: WITH THIS ANAMITE, I IMAGINE—Trygash!
Trygar: Scary... not!
Trygar: WITH THIS ANAMITE, I IMAGINE—Shadow Trogovo!
Ashio: And Shadow Vulbor!
[The battle begins.]
Tony: Furok, Energy Blast!
Edyn: Ugger, Root Reach!
Inara: Trygash, Shapeshift Whiplash Attack!
[All attacks hit but do nothing. Ashio laughs.]
Ashio: That's all you've got?
Tony: Not even close. Ready, Edyn?
Edyn: Ready!
[Tony and Edyn fuse into their Dream Armor.]
Inara: [awestruck] Wow...
Trygash: Your puny armor is useless!
[Dark shadows engulf Trygar and Ashio.]
Edyn: What's happening to them?
Tony: No way... Dream Armor? But dark?
Trygar: This is true power! Shadow Trogovo, attack!
[Shadow Trogovo strikes, sending Furok and Ugger flying.]
Furok: Oof! That... that hurt!
Ugger: I can't... move...
[Tony and Edyn's armor fades. They collapse.]
Tony: No! Not again!
Edyn: We're not strong enough...
Ashio: Now... it's her turn.
Ashio: Shadow Vulbor, Blinding Oil Slick!
[The attack barrels toward Inara.]
?: Freep and Primroot, Shell Guard!
[The shield blocks the attack. They all turn.]
Tony: Strag!
Edyn: You made it!
Inara: [coldly] And who said I needed help?
Strag: Inara... I know I let you down. But I'm not leaving again—not till this is over.
Inara: [sighs] Fine. Let's do it.
[Tony and Edyn open a portal.]
Tony: Good luck, you two.
Edyn: For The Underneath... and for your friendship.
[They step through the portal back to Naroom.]
Tony: Think they'll be okay?
Edyn: For their sake... I hope so.
