'Thought'

A skeletal blonde man, known as Toshinori Yagi has been on the beach for a while, originally planning to clean it up. Community service was always a great part of heroism, though sooner or later picking up trash might be the only heroic exploit he would be capable of. But It still helped pass the time for the weakening hero as Nezu finalized a solid plan for him to start teaching at U.A the next school year. Reason being he needed to find a successor soon to at least secure the Quirk's safety. His injury only made it possible for him to go out for three hours a day now, and One For All was slowly becoming incompatible with his weakened form.

'Times like this I wished I could talk to Nana.'

Toshinori sighs, as he thought about his old master, and how he wished he could talk to them about the difficulties of passing the torch, of finding someone they could entrust the future to.

'Maybe I should talk to my old sidekick again, he did mention about finding someone who can be worthy enough-'

Before Toshinori could continue to be in deep thought about his situation, or just start cleaning up the beach, he suddenly stopped himself when he heard someone crying.

"Huh?"

Toshinori decided to walk towards the source of sniffling, whether it be because of his hero side wanting to help, or just out of pure curiosity and worry.

'What is a young girl doing here?'

Though when Toshinori did find the source of the sobbing, he was surprised to see a young girl here, with brown eyes, which still leaked tears, brown hair with red clips, and held a kitchen knife in her hand, this was enough to make him more worried and concerned.

"Um, hi little girl, what are you doing here?..."

Toshinori carefully walked up to her, not wanting to frighten her, which he did as she quickly looked at him with a scared look and aimed her knife at him.

"T-Training..."

But after seeing that he wasn't a thug or a bad person, she was able to calm down quickly and put down her knife.

"... Training for what exactly?..."

Once Toshinori has gained her trust somewhat, he decided to continue to ask questions and understand what she was training for.

"F-For U.A..."

Though what she said definitely peaked Yagi's interest and surprised him.

"Oh? Do you plan to be a Hero?"

Toshinori's thoughts immediately went to the idea of him finding a possible successor, though he shook his head and focused, not wanting to jump into conclusion just yet.

"Y-Yes..."

the blonde skeleton couldn't help but be more interested in the girl before him, though he stopped himself when he just realized something.

"... But why are you crying?"

Toshinori just remembered why he was here in the first place, which was to figure out why she was crying in the first place.

"B-Because I'm scared to go to U.A..."

And what she answered was definitely something he wasn't expecting to hear.

"Why?"

Toshinori's curiosity got the better of him, he did understand the idea of being nervous and slightly scared of becoming a Hero, but he noticed that she seemed terrified, which was just confusing him even more so.

"... B-Because I don't have a Quirk..."

However, once she said her reasoning, he couldn't help but go wide eyes a bit, clearly wasn't prepared to process what she just said.

"I, um, hm... Then why not just stop and call it quits-"

Usually Toshinori doesn't like the idea of crushing someone's hopes and dreams, but seeing how this crying child was scared at the mere thought of entering U.A, it was probably for the best to tell her straight before it was too late.

"I-I CAN'T DO THAT! I NEED TO BECOME A HERO!"

But much to his shock, he was met with a loud outburst from the sad and scared little girl, which definitely startled him.

"B-But why though? If you're too scared and Quirkless to become one?"

As Toshinori was trying to understand why the little girl wanted to become a Hero so badly, he was just met with a hesitant expression.

"... It's a secret..."

She spoke softly, looking down and wore a very defeated expression, which just adds on to Yagi confusion, though, as he took a closer look at her, he couldn't help but notice something.

'She's very determined, despite her fears.'

Toshinori just realized that, even though she presented herself as meek and frightened, she was pretty defiance and refused to give up on her goals.

'I can see it, through her tears, are the eyes of someone doing everything she can to become a Hero.'

At first glance, most would only see her crying sad eyes, but for someone like Toshinori, who was experienced in what he does, he saw past that and more.

'Not to mention, her body is honesty already fit and strong, despite being someone who is very young and Quirkless, she must've been training for a very long time for U.A.'

Toshinori could recognize when someone worked hard in what they do, like how he saw it on the young girl, despite her age and meek personality, he has to admit that she had a strong body, literal and metaphorically.

"... Are you serious about becoming a Hero?"

After noticing everything that the young girl has offered and accomplished, Toshinori decided to ask one more thing, before he makes any last minute decision.

"I have to become one, no matter what..."

And once she answers so quickly and without hesitation, it was enough to help the blonde skeleton make his final choice.

"Hehehe-HAH!"

Toshinori started to chuckle, much to her confusion, but before she could ask why, she was immediately startled at the sight of the thin man becoming larger and buffer, as her boney frown turned into a very bright and confident smile.

"W-W-WHA- WHO ARE YOU?!"

She stood up and back in extreme fear, aiming her knife at him again.

'She wants to be a Hero, yet doesn't know who the No.1 Pro is?'

Toshinori, or also known as All Might, was confused by her reaction and not recognizing who he was, but he just shook it head and ignored that for now.

"I AM HERE! To help you become a Hero!"

Once All Might said those words, the fear and confusion on her face, was now just simple confusion.

"W-What?"

Was all she could say in this situation, aiming her knife down again as she begins to listen to what he had to say.

"What is your name young lady?"

"K-Kobeni Higashiyama?..."

After All Might was able to get to know the name of the person before him, who was now known as Kobeni Higashiyama, he was able to make his offer to her.

"Kobeni, while I do not quite understand your motivation, I admire your determination and passion, so much so that I wish to help you become a Hero."

When All Might mentioned the desire to help Higashiyama, she couldn't help but go wide eyes in surprise.

"Y-You want to help me?"

Kobeni didn't understand why a stranger she just met would want to help someone like her.

"Yes, I will do everything I can to not only help you become a Hero, but be No.1 as well!"

All Might inspiration smile was so bright that it was starting to blind the young girl.

"... I-I'm fine with just being average..."

Kobeni shyly said, even though she has the desire to become a hero, she had no reason to be more than that.

"Huh, humble I see, just what I like to see in a soon to be Pro, now, will you accept my offer to train you?"

All Might was surprised by her simple goals, but he was still supportive none the less, as he gave the offer of a life time to the one he deems worthy enough to receive it.

"Y-Yes please, I need all the help I can get."

Which Kobeni took without a second thought, which made Toshinori laugh at her eagerness, as he then reached for a string of hair and offered it to her.

"Great! Now then, eat my hair and we can get started right away!~"

There was a moment of silence between the two, as All Might continues to hold out the hair string to an instantly disgusted and worried Kobeni, as she then reached for her phone and started to call someone.

"Police, a buff man is trying to make me eat his hair."

"NO, WAIT, I CAN EXPLAIN-"

It took a lot calming down and convincing, but soon once all was situated and explained, it all made sense, though it didn't make anything any less awkward for Kobeni and All Might.

'I-I still don't understand why I had to eat his hair...'

Anyway, after all was said and done, Kobeni was currently seen walking home, she wore a slightly sickly face, as she held her stomach, no doubt aching from having to eat the hair.

'But besides that, he's been very helpful, he might be the first person to ever help me in, well, anything.'

But despite that awkward and strange moment with All Might, Kobeni couldn't help but feel more relieved and relaxed when around him, both thankful and glad to finally have some support in her life, even if it came from a stranger.

'But I hope it's enough to get into U.A...'

However, Kobeni still had doubts about the whole thing, but she decided to just worry about that later. Wishing to rest after a long day of training, she sighs as she opens the door to her home and walks in.

"Kobeni dear, just in time!~"

However when Higashiyama walked in, she was met with a very strange sight, a sight that involved her Father.

"U-Um, what is this?..."

Kobeni couldn't help but be suddenly worried as she noticed all the random items and objects that were placed behind her Father.

"Well, I heard you were worried about becoming a Hero without super powers."

Father quickly stood next to his daughter and held her close to his side, all buddy buddy like, which made her very uncomfortable.

"So I decided to help out and give you one, of course I expect you to repay me later."

The daughter was still confused about what her Father was talking about, but after getting a closer look at what he had set up, she instantly went eyes wide in horror.

"D-Dad! Devil Summoning I-Is Illegal! Only Devil Hunters A-Are Allowed To Make Contracts!"

What Kobeni saw and realized was that her own father had just set up a "Devil Summoning Ritual", which was made specifically for her to use, much to her disbelief that her own dad would even consider such a thing in the first place.

"I mean, if you don't want to have the power and become a Hero, we can always go with the other way you can make money for your brother."

Unfortunately, instead of making the Father see reason, he instead reminded his daughter of her options, if she chose to refuse to do as she was told.

"N-No! A-Anything But That!"

Which honestly brought Kobeni more fear than actually summoning a Devil, her submission earned her a pet on the head from her Father.

"Be sure to clean up the mess when you're done, I'll be back soon, going to celebrate your brother's good grades again."

After all was said and done, the Father left his daughter behind to complete the ritual. He went away to do something more fun and safe without her, which just made her frown deeply at this.

'I wish they cared for me like they do for my brother...'

Kobeni wipes away her tears that threatened to come out, before focusing on the ritual before her, which involves some candles, demonic drawings and writing, and a door at the center of the entire summoning circle.

"P-Please don't be a super evil Devil..."

Kobeni whimpers in fear, but had no choice but to continue, grabbing the knife tightly and shakingly holding it over her hand, clearly hesitating, but was able to continue, cutting her hand, which made her wince in pain, and once her palm was starting to bleed, she kneels down before the door in the floor and used her bloody fist to knock on it.

"H-Hello, I... I wish to make a Contract with you..."

When Kobeni knocked on the door, more and more fear filled her heart and mind, as she had no idea what kind of Devil she would summon. It could be something as evil as the "Torture Devil" or as scary as the "Monster Devil". She could barely stomach the idea, though before she could have a panic attack and probably call it quits with the summoning, she saw the door suddenly open and dropped something right in front of her, which definitely startled her at first, until she got a good look at what she was seeing.

'A-A girl?...'

Kobeni immediately became doubtful and wondered if she made a mistake in her summoning, even more so when this "Woman?" started to stand up to her feet and revealed herself more to Higashiyama, allowing her to see how she looks like, that being someone with pale white skin, with messy white hair to match, and her eyes, which were honestly the most odd thing about them, being swirling and blue, though it's hard to really consider those scary when they are covered with tears, everything that she was seeing almost convinced her that she failed in actually summoning a Devil… That was until she introduced herself and reignited her fears.

"I-I'm the Famine Devil, w-why did you summon me?..."

And with that, all the main characters have been introduced, next chapter is when the story can actually begin, I have plans but I'm open to suggestions ~

(BTW I'll include Death Devil later, for now, I'm just waiting to see what she's all about in the Chainsaw Man manga, but don't worry I planned to include her soon)
