Before I start this story, two things:
1) This story is going to be a sequel story to my "Plucky & Shirley Breakup" story. I recommend reading that before reading this so things will make more sense.
2) I would like to credit CartoonLovingFeline because the way this story goes came around as a result of roleplaying me and him did in DMs.
That being said, enjoy the story.
Plucky, after having recently ended his relationship with Shirley the Loon, who has now entered a relationship with Furrball of all people, stormed into the ACME Aces park and sat on a bench.
"That... that... loon!" He growled to himself, still mad after the breakup. "She was always resentful of me and hits me around the clock, and now she has a new relationship with Furrball of all people! Furrball! Why Furrball I ask!"
As Plucky wondered why, another thought came to his head: the others at ACME Loo. What if word gets out about his and Shirley's breakup? What if they, especially Babs and Fifi, blame him for the breakup? What if a war breaks out a school which results in Babs and/or Fifi hating him and hitting him more than Shirley ever did?
"I won't have it!" He exclaimed, scaring away nearby birds in the process. "I'll find a new girlfriend! One who isn't always resentful of me! One who can actually tolerate me! One who isn't Shirley! It's just a question of who."
Plucky wondered to himself who he could date instead of Shirley. Fifi? Nope, too smelly for him. Babs? Unlikely given that she's close to Buster and also tends to be resentful of him. Sweetie? Nah, she's too obnoxious. Mary Melody? No way, she's a human. Elmyra? Absolutely never in a gazillion years! (Note, I also credit OwenOgletree for this list of girl ideas.)
"Ooh, look at the ducky-head!" Came Elmyra's voice.
Plucky saw the aforementioned girl run towards him, her arms stretched out. Before she could grab him, Plucky threw Elmyra into a tree, which resulted in a wasp nest falling onto her head.
"Owie!" Elmyra yelled as the wasps starting stinging her. "Bad waspy-heads!"
Elmyra ran off as the wasps chased her, continuing to sting her.
Now that she was gone, Plucky resumed thinking. He considered his dream girl from Spring Break, but then he remembered what happened involving her and Hamton. Suddenly, he remembered that mallard girl he met when he was a double agent for that football game against Perfecto Prep.
"Margot!" He said. "Surely she'll be able to tolerate me and be a better girlfriend for me than Shirl! Perfecto Prep, here I come!"
Plucky took off to Perfecto Prep.
Later that day, Plucky arrived at Perfecto Prep. He hid near the building and crawled under the windows, looking to find her. Eventually, he managed to hear her yelling. She was arguing with her boyfriend, Danforth.
"You haven't done anything romantic with me for three weeks!" She yelled.
"Keep up this attitude, and it's gonna be four weeks!" Scoffed Danforth.
"I bet Plucky would be romantic with me!" Said Margot.
"Then go date him!" Danforth yelled.
"Oh? You think I should?" Margot asked in a voice that said "try me!"
"Yeah, unless he wants his bottom lip bitten during make outs!" Danforth replied.
"What?!" Margot asked, sounding outraged. "You told me you liked that!"
"Nobody likes that!" Danforth yelled.
"Ugh, you're such a jerk!" Margot scoffed.
"Oh shut up, Maggot Mallard!" Danforth shouted.
Plucky subtly moved his head upwards to watch the two Perfecto Prep students argue.
"I'm not your property, Danforth!" Margot yelled. "I am my own woman!"
"Bah!" Scoffed Danforth. "Come on Margot, you're nothing without me and you know it! If it weren't for me, you wouldn't of made it on the cheer team! Matter of fact, you probably would've ended up poor and homeless, or worse, an ACME Loo student!"
Margot was visibly outraged. Her hands shook and her feathers began to poof out from fury.
"Nothing you say?!" She asked with heat in her voice. "NOTHING?!"
Just then, she slapped Danforth so hard, he was knocked backwards and bumped into a wall. The slap could be heard throughout the entire building!
"We're done!" She yelled, turning her back to him and walking off.
As Danforth picked himself off the floor and huffed with anger, Plucky walked to the next window to see Margot entering the room. She was still visibly enraged but was clearly trying to cool off. She went to her mirror to apply mascara to her eyelashes.
"She and Danforth just broke up?" Plucky asked himself. "That's perfect! It's just like me and Shirley! Perhaps if I talk to her, she could become my new girlfriend. But how to approach her."
"You know I can hear you, right?" Margot asked.
Plucky saw that Margot was now standing at the other side of the window, glaring at him. Plucky was just about to scream in surprise when she swiftly grabbed his beak shut.
"What are you doing here, ACME geek?" She asked, trying to whisper.
All Plucky could do was mumble since Margot was still holding his beak. Margot let go of his beak.
"I saw you just broke up with Danforth." He said. "I figured you could do with a new man."
Margot was just about to slap Plucky into next week when she stopped herself.
"Perhaps he could be a better man for me than Danforth." She thought to herself.
She leant over and whispered into his ear.
"Meet me at the park at midnight." She whispered. "Come alone."
As Plucky nodded, Danforth suddenly came into the room. Margot swifly pushed Plucky's head down.
"Who were you talking to?" Danforth demanded.
"None of your business." Margot replied, pushing Plucky into a ball and rolling him away like he was a bowling ball.
Later at midnight, Plucky was sitting on the same park bench he sat at earlier, waiting for Margot. He was so tired that he fell asleep fifteen minutes before Margot replied.
"Hey, wake up." She said, gently shaking him.
Plucky turned over to her, still sleeping.
"Of course I'll marry you." He said, sleepily.
"What in the actual-" Margot asked, before she noticed some of Danforth's cronies walking through the park.
She immediately tackled Plucky into a nearby bush as the cronies walked past. The impact of the tackle woke Plucky up.
"I do!" Plucky yelled, as he woke up.
Margot immediately grabbed Plucky's beak again to stop him yelling.
"Why were you spying on me?" Margot asked before she released Plucky's beak.
"I recently had a nasty breakup with my ex girlfriend who is now dating Furrball." Plucky explained. I figured you would make a better girlfriend since you're the only suitable girl that came to mind."
Margot considered Plucky's words. Given her breakup with Danforth, she figured that her dating Plucky would spite him to his core.
"Why don't you show me to your place?" Margot asked. "And on the way, you can tell me about the various adventures you had with the rest of those ACME Losers."
"You got yourself a deal." Plucky smiled.
Plucky took Margot to his home in the swamp. On the way, Plucky told Margot about the various adventures he had with his classmates, most notably when he, Buster, Babs, and Hamton went to that island to find treasure.
"So in the end, we never got to keep the treasure." Plucky said.
Margot was interested and amazed with the stories and the atmosphere of Plucky's house, especially the sparkling swamp water and the twinkling stars above them.
"You think this island still has treasure?" Margot asked.
"Since it got destroyed by the volcano erupting, unlikely." Plucky replied.
"You know we live in a toon world, right?" Margot asked. "Surely it would be restored and have treasure."
"Point taken." Plucky replied. "But what about the treasure? When me and my pals tried to take it home, we had to throw it overboard."
"Don't worry about that." Margot replied. "Our ships are very deluxe. We once took home an entire cave worth of treasure."
"Very impressive." Plucky replied. "But aren't you worried about Danforth?"
Margot laughed.
"Ha! I'm not worried about him." She said, confidently. "Come to think of it, I wonder how things are going for him."
(Back at Perfecto Prep, Danforth received enraging news.)
"What do you mean our cheerleading team quit?!" He demanded.
"Margot's charisma encouraged the team." Explained one of the Perfecto goons. "But because she's gone, they lost the will and motivation."
"What about Rhubella?" Asked Danforth. "Surely she motivates them too!"
"Not exactly." Rhubella said, walking into the room. "My demands and how I order them to perform the right way also drove them away. Tell me, Danforth, what happened between you and Margot? Surely you had something to do with it since you're her boyfriend!"
"She got mad at me and left me for no reason." Lied Danforth. "I don't know where she is."
"Fortunately we have those microchips in case of kidnappings." Said Rhubella. "It says that she's somewhere in the ocean."
The next day, Plucky and Margot were at the same island where the treasure and green-eyed monster was before. They travelled there with a deluxe boat that Margot stole from Perfecto Prep.
"How are we gonna find more treasure?" Plucky asked.
"I have a deluxe treasure finder." Margot smiled, pulling out the device.
"Awesome!" Plucky smiled.
As Margot activated the device which went to look for treasure, Plucky began to speak meaningfully to Margot.
"You know, I'm glad me and Shirl broke up because I got to spend this time with you." He said. "You've been more tolerant of me than Shirley has ever been. Not to mention you're a cool gal. I don't see why that Danforth jerk treated you like that."
Margot stopped dead in her tracks. She never expected this kind of sincerity from anyone, let alone Plucky, an ACME Loo student. Danforth never treated her with this amount of kindness at all.
"R- really?" She asked.
"You betcha." Plucky replied with a smile.
Margot smiled back at him. She leaned in, held both sides of his beak, and moved her face closer to his. Plucky's heart pounded in his chest. Before anything could happen with them, Margot's microchip began to beep.
"Oh no." She said. "The microchip!"
She looked at the waters and saw Rhubella, along with two Perfecto cronies, approaching the island via jetskis.
"If they see you here, we're both done for!" Margot explained.
She quickly took Plucky's arm and took him into a secret room inside the boat.
"I'll hold them off and prevent them from finding you." She said to him. "Until then..."
She leaned in, kissed Plucky on the cheek, and swiftly left the room. Plucky held his cheek.
"If there was ever a time I felt like I was in Heaven, this would be that time." He said, before fainting.
Margot changed into her swimsuit and was sunbathing as Rhubella and the cronies arrived on the island.
"Enjoying yourself?" Rhubella asked.
"Relax Ruby, I was just getting away from it all." Margot replied, removing her sunglasses. "Besides, I heard there was treasure here."
"Treasure, huh?" Rhubella asked, sounding intrigued. "Say, what did happen between you and Danforth? He said he walked out on you for no reason, but I'm not sure I believed him."
Margot explained to Rhubella the events that occured between her and Danforth leading up to their break up.
"He treated me like his property." Margot said. "So I dumped him."
"I knew it." Rhubella said. "Also, since this island has treasure, it could make for an awesome resort."
"Word of advice: there's a volcano here." Margot informed.
"A volcano?" Rhubella asked. "That will be a problem. But we'll find a way around it."
Later that day, Plucky and Margot were on their way back to ACME Acres with the treasure they found.
"Plucky, let me say that I enjoyed this time with you." Said Margot. "You're pretty cool and you treat me like a woman unlike Danforth. I'm glad I dumped that jerk because I got to have this fun time with you."
"And I gotta say that you're a cool gal." Plucky replied. "You haven't been annoyed with every action I take nor did you throw me into a wall whenever I said something you didn't like. I'm glad me and Shirl broke up now. Furrball can keep her. You're the only woman for me."
Margot actually blushed at Plucky's words. She snapped her fingers and a spa appeared on the boat. The two of them were relaxing in the jacuzzi.
"I wonder what we're gonna do with all this treasure." Said Plucky.
"We'll find a use for it." Margot replied. "You know, I'm thinking of leaving Perfecto Prep and attending ACME Loo so we can be closer to each other. If Roderick is treating Rhubella as badly as Danforth was treating me, if not worse, I'll convince her to do the same."
"Aren't you worried that Danforth and his pals will get all cheesed off, or my classmates being resentful and distrustful of you?" Plucky asked.
"I'll be fine regarding Danforth." Margot replied. "As for your classmates, I'm sure they'll warm up to me eventually."
"I already warmed up to ya." Plucky smiled.
Margot smiled back.
"You know, you're honest and reassuring." Margot replied. "I like that in a man."
"Oh you do?" Smiled Plucky, shifting closer to Margot.
"Yeah." Margot replied, shifting closer to Plucky.
"Yeah?" Asked Plucky, shifting even closer closer to Margot.
"Yeah." Margot replied, shifting even closer to Plucky.
The two of them stared romantically at one-another for a while before they started making out in the jacuzzi. The boat they were on sailed into the sunset as the screen irised out a heart onto them.
