Remnant of Titans

Searching for Problems

It took a little while but the rest of the group finally regained consciousness and from there they were given the explanation from Cyborg and Blue Beetle about what happened so far, including the strange beasts that attacked them.

But then there was the issue of Bumblebee not being able to use her electric stings and she really didn't want to try shrinking since she can't fly for a while. Starfire kept trying to manifest her star bolts through her hands and eyes and flight was just as successful… not at all. She was still plenty strong, but even her insane strength was far below her normal, even on her off days.

Raven attempted to heal her leg, to at least make the pain more manageable, but that didn't work. Nor did Beast Boy when he tried to shapeshift, finding himself stuck in his normal human form.

"Oh come on! What happened to us?!" The green teenager whines as he keeps trying to shift, only going so far as moving his body onto all fours out of habit.

"I don't know, BB, but it seems all of my tech works just fine… aside from the lack of usual connections like satellites."

Robin used his good arm to retrieve a few of his weapons from his utility belt and give them a quick test, finding them in working order. Likewise, Speedy checked his bow and quiver, both of them were functioning as designed.

"So, those of us with tech are fine… so long we don't run out of power or ammunition. But those with powers can't use them at all." Robin states the facts bluntly. "We have no idea where we are and apparently there are monsters that attack on sight. Did I miss anything?"

Raven raised an eyebrow from where she sat. "Besides our injuries?"

"And there may be civilization around, but I haven't been able to crack the encryption yet to make sense of the signals I'm picking up." Cyborg clarified.

"That's as good a start as any, figure out where the signal is strongest yet?" Bee asks as she helps Raven to her feet.

"West." Beetle replies simply, pointing in the general direction.

After quickly fashioning a crutch for Raven to help her move on her own, along with a few simple spears that Beetle made the tips of for Starfire, Raven, and Beast Boy. Bumblebee still had her weapons but they were limited without her 'sting'.

"Honestly, I'm mostly worried about finding power." Cyborg says after a few minutes of walking. "I'll be alright for a few days but if we have to fight, it's gonna drain my batteries that much faster."

"Well…." Beast Boy walked a little closer to Cyborg with a grin. "Think of it this way, now you are the strongest one here."

The man in question grinned, happy to hold that title again, even if for a little while until Starfire gets her powers back. Sure, he could throw a car but Star had been able to kick one a block away ever since they had met. "Ha, I'll take that."

"Raven, are you sure that you do not require assistance?" Starfire asks her hobbling friend.

The normally dour girl looked up to the taller woman, knowing that she is older than she appears but she was still a close friend. "I'll be fine, I just don't want to be a burden when I can still walk."

"If you insist." The alien girl gave her a smile and kept walking by her side, showing that she was willing to help while allowing her friend to do as she wished.

"You're handling this pretty well so far." Robin complimented Beetle as they followed him towards their destination where hopefully civilization awaits them.

"Eh, to be honest… I'm still pretty freaked out about this situation but since I got the Scarab on my back and having to deal with the crazy stuff that came with it, a nature walk like this seems pretty tame." He admits. "But I'd probably be worse if you guys weren't here with me."

"Still, you are doing pretty well for being so new to all of this. I remember how tough it was when I first started the hero business."

"Right, you were with Bats in Gotham for a couple years."

"Yeah, and when I decided to go solo I wound up running into these guys and teaming up."

"Lucky break for you there, especially with your la companera." He couldn't help himself from teasing a bit. "How's that going, by the way?"

"We've… been doing pretty good so far. Any arguments have been over minor things… though I have been taking things a bit slower than she'd like but she does understand why."

"I guess that makes sense, alien culture and all. Gives me some hope for the future."

"How so?"

"Hey, it's not like I don't notice the looks that girls give me when the suit is off. But I guess that if there's gonna be any hope for me having my own la companera it will need to be with someone who's in our line of work. They'd be used to strange and dangerous things so the Scarab shouldn't be an issue for them."

"Huh… that's certainly one way to look at things." Robin gave the young man credit. "Good luck with that when the time comes."

"You saw that bright light this morning too, right?" Yang asks her friends.

"Way out here in the middle of nowhere, probably a meteor." Weiss dismisses the blonde.

"A meteor?! You don't want to see it?" Ruby got into her friend's face to shout. "I know I want to see it!""

The heiress pushed the girl away. "Please, it's just a rock."

"A rock that fell from space!" The younger girl insisted.

"We're on a mission, we have no time for wandering the woods for a rock!" Weiss counters.

"We are heading in that direction anyway, we might see it." Blake, the fourth member of the team comments, not really caring if they found it or not.

"Seems like you are overruled, Ice Queen." Yang grins at the girl before wandering ahead to expand their search capability.

Giving Weiss a cheeky grin, Ruby walked off after her sister but stayed apart to cover more ground.

"Really?!" Weiss stomps her foot to vent her frustration, though that was in part because Blake left her behind silently, taking a position on Ruby's other side. That left the heiress to hurry up to join the rest of her team, though she moved to Yang's left for the search.

A few hours later, with nothing to show besides a few dead Grimm in their wake, they regrouped to find a place to take a break.

"There's a clearing up ahead!" Weiss points out as she could see the bright sunlight through the trees.

"Great, I'm starving!" Yang grins as she adjusts the small pack on her back that contains their supplies, including their lunches.

Weiss ran ahead to scout if the clearing really was clear of dangers like Grimm and bandits as the others followed at a more sedate pace. "Eeep!"

"Weiss!" Ruby heard the girls scream and sprinted after her teammate thinking that there was an attack of some sort… only to find that Weiss had fallen into a hole in the ground. And she began to giggle at the sight.

Blake and Yang came shortly after and while the latter openly laughed, the former gave the girl in the hole a smug grin.

"For someone who didn't want to go looking for things, you certainly found it!" Yang boasted pointing at the crater.

Weiss indignantly climbed out of the crater to scowl at the taller girl but even through her anger she noticed that there were two other craters. "Look at this." She pointed her fingers as she noticed a pattern in both holes, showing that they are vaguely human shaped.

One crater was obviously bigger and deeper than the others while another was both shallower and smaller. Yet all three had the same appearance of being formed around people in different positions.

It could be dismissed as simply being how the meteors hit the ground, given the roots of trees and rocks in the ground that could be seen… but then Ruby found what looked to be footprints in the upturned dirt and in the grass.

"Were these people?" The girl asks aloud, hoping that her sister and friends could help her find a conclusion.

"Possibly." Yang states as she examines the grass near a shady tree away from the craters. In the grass, there were impressions of seven people, including what looked like blood lower in the form of one of the impressions. She also noticed that they varied in size but were of adult height for people.

Blake found what looked to be an eighth person, at least their impression that showed that they had been sitting for a while, though the large footprints that matched the vast majority of the ones by the craters indicated that whoever made them seemed to have cared for the others.

Weiss spotted footprints leading away from the clearing, with roughly eight sets grouped together. At the same time Ruby was examining a tree that had some of its bark removed, as well as some of the wood beneath. What got her curious was that it didn't come from any sort of weapon that she was familiar with, looking somewhat like a bomb had caused it yet there were no blast marks or scorches nor debris. Although there were the obvious signs of Grimm in the area- dug up dirt from claws, their tracks, scuffs in the back of trees and ground… those she and the others were far more experienced in seeing after their own encounters.

"The tracks are heading west!" Blake calls out, having followed them for a short distance from the scene of the fight. One of the more distinctive tracks was one where whoever made it was using a crutch of some sort, judging by the single footprint and hole that was left behind. The others were of different sizes from absolutely massive to small with heels. One even had… a paw pattern in the sole of their shoes, going by the step in a patch of dirt.

With Blake in the lead to track their quarry, the four girls set out to find whoever made the craters. Thankfully, whoever they were tracking made no signs of trying to conceal their path, finding some wood shavings not far into the search and plenty of bent and broken branches in the foliage. Plus there was more evidence that they were fighting Grimm on occasion, slowing down the group so Team RWBY could catch up to them faster.

"Hey, I'm really starting to get used to this thing!" Beast Boy boasts as he pulls his spear out of another 'werewolf', letting it turn to smoke and ashes.

"You mean besides 'The pointy end faces the target'?" Raven quips dryly from behind him.

"Still, that's the last of this bunch." Speedy drops down from a branch and retrieves his arrows. The archer had managed to craft some arrows of his own as they walked so he wouldn't use up his already limited supply of trick arrows. While they were far from what he'd prefer, they did the job well enough that he could compensate for their irregularities.

"I almost feel… sad for these creatures." Starfire comments as she watches her latest foe dissolve.

"What do you mean, Star?" Robin had to ask as he stowed his staff away on his belt.

"What I mean is that no creature should be so mindless." She looks away to where a river flowed. "It is as if they have no purpose but to destroy."

"They haven't been trying to destroy the forest." Her boyfriend points out. "Think that they are some sort of guardian spirits or something like that?"

Raven hobbled over to stand with them by the waters edge. "I highly doubt that, Robin." She didn't need to see him to know he was looking at her with a raised eyebrow. "Even without my powers, I can tell that there is not much to these creatures we've been fighting. They are primal instincts given form… any purpose they may have is unknown even to them, from what I can tell so far. We'll likely learn more about them the more we fight them."

"You… do not think that every one of them will attack us?" Starfire asks with an odd blend of fear and hope. Fear that there is no choice but to kill any of these creatures that they encounter but leaving a small sliver of hope that there could be more to them.

"Star, given that every time we've seen them, they've attacked on sight, I doubt that we will have much choice but to put them down for our own survival." Robin tells her with finality in his tone but also a hint of regret. He wasn't one to enjoy an enemy being killed and usually tried not to go that far but there were exceptions made at times, certain exceptional enemies that are too dangerous to allow to be free and would not stay imprisoned, for one. The other exception would be for when given no choice in the matter, though with how often that would be some sort of creature transformed and controlled by someone else, he saw it more as an act of mercy to put them out of their misery.

"Precisely, at least for now." Raven agreed. "These seem similar to various spirits and demons I've dealt with before, your survival should always remain the top priority."

"Hey guys! We found food!" Beast Boy interrupted their discussion from a nearby bush.

Apparently the others had found some fruits that both Cyborg and Beetle were able to verify that they were safe to eat. Both boys and Bee immediately dug into the surprisingly delicious berries while Speedy stuck to sitting in the branches overhead to watch for more werewolves. With a shrug, the three walked over to the bush and helped themselves to the ripened berries.

Eventually, Speedy came down and joined Beast Boy at another bush to help clear that of ripened fruit.

"Well, that was cleaner than hunting." Raven comments, though she knew that they'd likely have to resort to doing so for more nutrition. They had seen plenty of other animals that resembled birds, rabbits, and rodents scurrying through the forest as they trekked.

"Hey, Rae… you got a little…" Beast Boy pointed at his face and circled his mouth, causing the girl to wipe her own lips with a finger to find dark purple juice against her normal ashen grey skin. She cleaned her face quickly with her arm, the juice blending in well with the dark blue, nearly black, sleeve.

"That certainly helped." Robin garnered the attention of the team but he looked up towards the sky and found that it was getting darker. "But we should set up camp for the night while we can still see. And I really don't want to give those werewolves an easy meal so we'll need some sort of defense put up and a watch rotation."

Beast Boy and Raven got a fire going, with a small spark provided by Beetle once the green teen had collected enough wood for Raven's satisfaction. Meanwhile, Cyborg, Starfire, and Bumblebee got to work erecting a wall of sorts of branches bent and woven around other trees and bushes. It wasn't as if it would really stop the werewolves from getting through but it would slow them down and give the team time to prepare. Assisting in the defense, Beetle, Robin, and Speedy sharpened some stakes and used them to help hold the wall as needed as well as others outside to dissuade any of the monsters from approaching and a few more inside served as an extra layer of defense should they jump the wall, which would result in very painful landings.

With a snack of more berries and water filtered by Beetle, the team laid themselves down for some sleep. Speedy and Bumblebee took the first watch, climbing into the trees to watch over the campsite.

Silence reigned for a while, plenty long enough for the others to drift to sleep.

"Hey, do… Do you think we'll ever get back?" Bee asks quietly.

Speedy thought about it for a few moments. "You want my honest opinion?"

"I'm normally pretty blunt with you, I can take it right back." She crossed her arms and leaned back against the trunk, still being careful with her broken wing.

"Ha, that you are." The archer smiled. These sorts of back and forths were something they had gotten used to over the years since their team was formed. They knew each other's strengths and one thing that always seemed to come up was how similar the two of them were with their independence and preferences for not holding back with their thoughts. "But honestly… trying to make that portal thing ourselves is something that I doubt we'll ever do, even with Cyborg and Beetle's tech skills. And that's assuming that whatever civilization that this place has even has tech to work with.

As for the others from back home looking for us… odds are pretty slim. Who knows how long it will take for them to figure out that machine and find out wherever we are." He looked over to see Bee looking at him with wide eyes. "Hey, it's not that I doubt that the others will try to figure out what happened to us, I'm just being realistic about the capability of doing it."

"So pretty much, 'don't get your hopes up'?"

"I'm all for being pleasantly surprised if they find us at any point. I'm just figuring that it won't be anytime soon."

Bee curled up on her branch, hugging her knees to her chest. "I hate it that we're thinking the same thing." She took a moment to rub her eyes before tears could be seen. "And I'm pretty sure all of them are thinking it too."

"Maybe so, but we've been around long enough in the hero biz that we should never let situations hold us back. We'll adapt and survive."

"Hehe, giving me a bit of tough love, aren't you?"

"Whatever I can do to help."

Things remained quiet as they changed shifts, letting Robin and Starfire take their watch time so Bee and Speedy could get some sleep.

Not far away, four girls had made their own camp and settled in for the night, though they didn't go through such extensive precautions, just having one of them remaining awake on watch in shifts. Of course, they had their ration bars for dinner, none of them particularly savoring the taste but it gave them plenty of nutrition for whatever they needed to do.

"You gotta admit that it's weird that it's actually people instead of a meteor." Yang says as she stoked the fire.

"Think it was someone's semblance that did it?" Weiss asks as she was familiar with many as her own gave her a far greater range than most.

"Oh! Like a teleporting type?" Ruby bounced where she sat.

"Maybe." Weiss admits as it was the most likely scenario to explain things so far.

Blake walked out of the shadows and sat down. "The area is clear, at least for now." She had done a patrol around the camp given that she was the best equipped for such scouting and would have a watch shift in the middle of the night for the same reason.

Ruby turned to her teammate. "Blake, you're sure you can follow the tracks tomorrow?"

Amber eyes rolled in their sockets. "Yes, I can. Not only are they not trying to hide their tracks at all but one of them is so big that they make deep footprints and another seems injured, so the group is moving slowly."

"So you think we'll catch up to them soon?"

"I doubt that they are that far ahead of us, they just had a good head start."

"Alright, get some sleep you two." Yang tells them firmly, putting her foot down as the team's Big Sister.

Thankfully, neither of them gave her any trouble though Weiss was slow to sleep as she thought about what they may find and how they had gotten into that predicament. At least she had called back to Professor Goodwitch to keep her updated on their weekend mission. The blonde woman had reminded her to exercise caution and to be notified of the results.

Sleep came slowly for the girl but at least Yang had first watch tonight.

Beast Boy was on point again this morning, his hearing being better than anyone else's on the team except Cyborg and Beetle when they devoted their systems to audio pickup. He was able to identify another werewolf before it could attack from behind some bushes, allowing Speedy to take it out with a shot to the neck.

But that victory didn't last long when a few minutes later they ran into something much, much larger. In fact, what they found was so massive that it looked like it could easily eat a werewolf.

"Umm… guys?" BB asks worriedly, glancing at his simple spear and doing the math, concluding that his weapon would be far from adequate.

"Is… that a snake?" Beetle asks as he watches the beast rise up to a third story level. But like the werewolves, it was mostly black but the belly scales were white. The skull-like mask on its face bore some red designs, almost as if they had been painted on. When it hissed at the group, it showed that its mouth was full of needle-like teeth, the smaller ones being the length of their arms while the fangs were as long as most of them are tall.

Movement to their right caught their attention as a matching snake rose up, though with white scales instead of black.

"Two snakes!" Starfire pointed at the white one.

Speedy took to a tree quickly and found something he wasn't sure if it was a good or bad thing. "It's just one! But with two heads!"

"What?" Was the collective response to that information. Granted, it was quite a reasonable reaction, one that prompted both Cyborg and Beetle to prep their long range weapons.

"Let's get this thing done quickly, my batteries are running low." The former declares, clenching his remaining fist.

"How low are you?" Robin asks with concern for his friend.

"Thirty five percent but I just paused the decryption programs to save power for the fight."

"That low? Alright, you hang back and help Raven, the rest of us will keep its attention."

If Cyborg wanted to argue, it died on his tongue as he could see his point. He had to conserve as much power as he could and the small backup battery within him could only provide another ten percent of his full charge. His sonic cannon could become rather draining quickly and a good chunk of his power had already been used trying to break the encryption of the signals he'd been picking up with little success.

"Alright, but I'll keep you posted on anything I notice." He relented.

"Hmph! Wouldn't have it any other way if you weren't next to me in a fight." Robin smirks. The smile faded as he double checked his inventory and had the harsh reminder that he was very limited in his options.

The black giant snake let out a roaring hiss, snapping attention to itself just as the white half darted at the group as fast as it could… which turned out to be like that of a train at full steam.

Cyborg picked up Raven and ran to the side as Speedy stood his ground while the others scattered. The archer firing the sharpened stakes as his arrows directly into the open fanged mouth, though only by the third stake did the snake seem to realize that trying to bite him like that was a bad idea, thus closing its jaws just before slamming its face into the ground with all of the care of an overturning truck.

Speedy smirked at his handiwork… until the snake kept plowing right at him without slowing down at all. With a grunt, the archer dove out of the way but not without twisting midair to fire another stake into the back of the mask where it met the scales, digging deep within the weak spot.

The snake stopped after creating a massive trench, though mostly because it ran out of body to push with. The white head reared up as it pulled itself back away from the archer and shook its head, shaking the stake loose.

"Oh boy." Speedy mutters as he watches the snake shrug off what he had hoped would be an end to the fight. That was only worsened when it coughed up the first few stakes with a bit of black smoke but otherwise seems fine but annoyed.

"So… got any other plans?" Beast Boy asks from nearby, holding his spear ready despite knowing that it would likely be near useless against this creature. Still, he hadn't been in the hero business for about a decade without developing the mindset of 'I'd rather go down fighting than surrender'.

"Go for the eyes." Was the simple answer as the white snake slithered closer in preparation to strike.

"Got it… and don't forget the tongue." It was debatable if the snake was anything like those on earth but given the way it was flicking its tongue, it seemed to act close enough to be a valid point.

Over with the Black snake, its range seemed to be limited by however the white half wanted to move but it had enough reach and control that it commanded a large area from which it could attack.

Seeing the one with a cape shouting "Titans go!" didn't bother it in the slightest though the number of opponents it had gave it some indecision on which to attack first.

Robin dashed in while extending his staff, Starfire and Bumblebee by his sides with their spears. The snake stuck with its mouth open, the trio splitting up with the girls diving to the side and Robin leapt overhead to let it bite nothing but air before the young man came back down and slammed his weapon right between the snake's eyes. Likewise, both women turned and jabbed their spears into the neck… only for the wood to break upon impact.

At the very least, the spearheads managed to lodge themselves into the scales.

Blue Beetle had taken to the air with his wings and scanned the snake for weaknesses, identifying the eyes and the inside of the mouth as obvious spots to hit. The scales are thick and strong, making it clear that it wouldn't be easy to get through its hide.

Giving a shrug to his doubts, the armor on his arms shifting to become blades. Then he dove, aiming for where the black and white scales met in the middle of the body. And with both heads distracted, neither could defend against his assault.

With a crash that blew dust off the beast and compressed the soil under its body, along with twin hissing roars of pain, Beetle had hit his target.

When the dust settled, his blades had indeed punched through the scales but not very deep, especially when taking into account just how large the snake is- as thick in the middle as Beetle is tall times two.

At the same time, he found himself with a new problem: he was the sole focus of both heads and neither of them were happy.

He barely had time to yank his arms free before a set of jaws but into the air where he had just been, his wings lifting him to safety just in time. "Huh?" Scarab alerted him to a danger just before the white head rammed him from behind, sending the young man to hit the ground hard and tumble to a stop.

"Aw man! They're getting their butts kicked out there!" Cyborg shouts as he watches from the sidelines. "And snakes can't even kick!"

Raven hated feeling useless but with her powers gone and leg wounded she had little choice but to stay out of the fight. "Go. I'll be fine over here in the trees out of sight."

"Are you sure?" Ever since they had formed the Titans, Cyborg had taken the role of Big Brother for the group, and it was a role that he took seriously. He was the one who tried to keep the peace whenever arguments broke out in the tower, helped to keep them fed and supplied, as well as keeping them healthy. So right now being asked to leave his injured friend behind pulled at his sense of duties.

Raven saw the conflict in him easily. "I'll be fine, really. Especially if you can beat it fast or at least keep it over there."

"Hmmm… alright, but only because you're convincing." He points at her with his large hand, getting a smirk on her face in return. With that resolved, he turned and ran for the fight, wondering if Robin was getting his other arm broken or just making the other one worse than merely broken.

By the time Cyborg had joined the fight, Bumblebee and Starfire had resorted to trying to be as distracting as possible to confuse the snake, throwing sticks, rocks, and clumps of dirt at it.

"Go away you klodhoppimugus innamf!" Starfire yelled as she threw a rock and struck the eye of the snake.

However, her phrase was something that made the others pause… aside from Cyborg.

"Wait, what was that?" Bee asks with a mud ball in hand.

Cyborg ran by. "Trust me, you don't want to know." Having learned his friend's native language while he was on Tamaran, he had access to a litany of different insults. That one… he'd rather not translate though it did surprise him that Star could have a foul mouth when she wanted to.

"Yo! I'm looking to get a new snake skin belt!" Cyborg yelled as his right hand shifted to his sonic cannon and fired at the giant serpent. The blast struck true against the scales just under the black heads chin and pushed it backwards.

Then the head moved back to where it started and focused directly on the new target.

HHHHHSDSSSSSS!

Cyborg dropped his arm upon seeing how little damage he had really done- mostly superficial and broke a few scales but little beyond making it angry at him. "Uh-oh."

The large man barely dove out of the path of the fangs in time. Still, he felt at least one of the teeth hit his foot but he didn't worry about the metal appendage so long as it worked.

An arrow flew by at the momentarily stopped head, exploding upon contact. But when the snake cleared the best damage that was done turned out to be that the snake was now blind on that side and a few scales were blasted off. Otherwise, the mask was scorched with a few minor cracks where the arrow hit.

Speedy was not happy about that. "That's not good, that's the best I could do unless I can get my last arrow in its mouth!"

Lucky for him, the white head was distracted by Beetle as he flew around and was hitting the snake with his white noise cannon, though with minimal damage. However he was unaware that he had brought the fight towards Raven.

"No! Not now!" Raven felt fear flow through her similar to when Slade had tried to use her to summon her father, Trigon. And with her leg and her powers unable to be accessed, she had no way to fight back.

Unknowingly, that fear caught the attention of the white head which shrugged off Beetle's blasts of sound and charged straight for the injured woman.

"Raven, look out!" Beast Boy yelled as he ran towards her in a full sprint, his own fear for his friend garnering the attention of the black head which slammed its way through Cyborg as it raced to its other half and blindsided Beetle with an arch of its body, sending him careening through the air.

Off to the side of the clearing, four girls arrived to see what was going on. But at least each of them were armed and running for the snake.

The white head reared back with its mouth open, fangs glistening in the sunlight. Then it struck just as Beast Boy hurled himself in its path.

Raven flinched and shielded herself as best she could from an inevitable death, but even through her closed eyes she noticed a bright flash.

The battle seemed to pause as Beast Boy was in the snake's mouth, yet the jaws couldn't close on him fully while they were at the same time. The reason being revealed to all as the head pulled back to show everyone that the snake had bitten on a giant turtle… a turtle that was green and see-through with Beast Boy in its center.

"Huh?" The green boy was surprised by the development and as he looked around, so did the turtle around him. When he moved his limbs, so did the turtle. "Well… this is different."

"Beast Boy?" Raven looked up at the young man who was willing to sacrifice himself for her and apparently unlocked some sort of new power in the process.

The four newcomers paid the new development no mind, seeing it more as an opportunity to strike themselves.

The one in white lifted her hand with two fingers extended, a couple of white glyphs with snowflake designs forming in midair upon which the girl with a red cloak and huge scythe ran up to hook her blade on the snakes neck and spun around, cutting through the scales to leave a spiraling wound that leaked black mist. A wound that was soon pelted by spears of ice from the girl in white.

At the same time, the other two joined in by the black-haired girl throwing a kusarigama that dug into the scales of the black head and she swung herself around the snake by the ribbon attached to the weapon. The second time around, the blonde girl grabbed her ankles to be taken for a ride that threw her up to the head. The girl fired shotguns from her gauntlets right into its open mouth that lit up the orifice with flames.

The turtle was released as the snake gasped in pain, letting Beast Boy to fall to the ground, 'hidden' within his shell. But shortly after he hit the ground, the turtle vanished and dropped the young man to the grass. Looking up, he saw the cloaked girl turn into a red streak that darted back up to the top of the white head and reformed with her scythe in hand.

At ground level, the girl in white plunged her sword into the snake's side and within moments ice began forming over and within the monster, freezing it in place.

As the snake was being immobilized, the scythe girl slammed the tip of her blade into the top of the snake's mouth… through the mask. From there she ran forward and let her weight pull on the shaft, forcing the blade to lift back and up into where the brain would be. Once it stopped moving, the girl pulled a trigger and with a BANG, a bullet ripped through the lower jaw while the blade of the scythe sliced through the skull from the inside.

Deftly, the girl in white created a few more glyphs for the cloaked one to hop down to ground level.

At the same time the other pair were finishing up their own side of the snake with the black-haired girl shooting bullets from her kusarigama into the remaining eye to blind it while the blonde was thrown high above by the ribbon. Said blonde came rocketing down, adjusting her flight with shots from her gauntlets until delivering a full force punch with a shot upon impact that crushed the skull of the black head.

The Titans could only watch in amazement of how these strangers took down such a large monster so easily, and a little bit of disgusted awe with how brutal the finishing blows were. Brutal but very effective.

The black and blonde girls rode the smoking body down to the ground, the latter grinning widely at her handiwork. "Oh yeah! Another one down!"

"You do realize that there were two heads?" The girl in white admonished the blonde.

"Well yeah, but I didn't see you making the finishing blow like me and Ruby!" The blonde counters proudly.

The snake finished vanishing into smoke and ash after a few minutes thanks to its sheer size but it was only then did the four girls seem to remember that there were others who they had rescued.

"Oh! Sorry, are you guys okay?" The cloaked one asks, who the blonde referred to as Ruby.

"Umm… yeah…" Robin answered as he stowed his staff on his belt again, though doing so reminded him of his broken arm. "Mostly."

"You guys were having quite a bit of trouble with that King Taijitu." The blonde tells them bluntly.

"A King… what now?" Bumblebee asks for clarification.

"A King Taijitu." The blonde tells her again but her eyes noticed the makeshift spear in Raven's hand and the one dropped nearby by Beast Boy. "Oh wow, you guys are either pretty brave or pretty stupid to go hunting Grimm with such bad weapons."

"Grimm? Is that what those creatures are called?" Cyborg wanted to know.

"Yeah… I'm gonna have to go with stupid if you guys don't know what you are fighting."

"Yang!" Ruby shouts and elbows the blonde in the ribs for the comment.

"Umm…" Starfire raised her hand and drew attention to herself. "I believe that the introductions are required?"

Eyebrows were raised at her odd phrasing, though at the same time, some of that was also for how the other group was dressed.

"Oh, umm… okay. I'm the leader of Team RWBY, Ruby Rose." The cloaked girl informs them, obviously a bit uncomfortable with being put on the spot but pushing through it out of a sense of duty. The girl wears a black blouse with a red stringed corset, a black skirt with red fluff underneath, black stockings, and black boots with red laces and soles. Most notable parts of her attire are the belt that her weapon clipped onto the back of that was lined with spare bullets and a rose buckle while sporting a red cloak over her shoulders. It was a bit odd that her eyes are silver in color.

"Weiss Schnee." The next girl spoke. She wore a white short dress that faded to a light blue near the bottom where there were a few intricate details worked into the cloth. She wears a matching jacket, though short in the back and the sleeves ended with bell cuffs. Interestingly, the inner lining is a vibrant red for the body and collar of the jacket. Her legs were bare aside from the nearly knee high white boots on her feet with wedge heels, blue soles, and the inner lining is red like her jacket. Oddly, she wore a fancy and expensive looking tiara on her head at the base of her off center ponytail that contained her long white hair. Though maybe that was to help draw some attention away from her light blue eyes where the left one has a scar running over it. One thing that caught attention was the rapier that she stuck in the sash that served as her belt, mostly due to the odd guard on the sword.

"Blake Belladonna." The black-haired girl says. She wears a black bow in her hair and a short white shirt that exposes her stomach over which she has a black sleeveless vest with tails. She has white shorts and black stockings that fade to purple just above her black boots. Ribbons and a detached sleeve adorned her arms with a matching black scarf around her neck. Her sword(s?) were held to her back by a metal plate across her shoulders.

"And I'm Yang Xiao Long!" The blonde introduced herself proudly. Her long blonde hair was untamed and stood out from the brown jacket she wears over her yellow tube top, both of which left her stomach open. Her black shorts were made a bit better by the addition of twin half skirts, one a translucent white material under pleated brown leather. Tall brown boots nearly reached her knees where an orange sock could be seen under a purple bandana that is tied around the limb. She also boasted an orange scarf around her neck and her golden gauntlets had somehow been converted into bracelets.

"Okay, hold up." Cyborg paused the conversation. "This team name of yours… is an anagram?" Next to him, Beast Boy silently pointed at each girl in turn and did the 'math', finding that his friend was right.

"It's a school tradition for the Headmaster's to do so upon team formation." Weiss curtly and proudly informed the young man.

"School? Headmaster?" Beast Boy questions apprehensively.

"Whoa, you guys really did come from the middle of nowhere, huh?" Yang comments with a smirk, trying to keep things light.

"Coming here out of nowhere is one way to put it." Raven replied dryly.

Blake raised an eyebrow at how she said that, matching her own usual jabs at things.

"Oh! But let us introduce ourselves!" Starfire's energy pushed away any hostility and tension. "I am Koriand'r of the planet Tamaran. But you can call me Starfire as that is the best human translation of my native language."

RWBY stared at the tall woman, confused by what she had said. "What?"

Standing easily taller than the others around her aside from Cyborg and notably taller than Yang, the tallest of her own team, Starfire stood out most due to her orange skin and green eyes. And by green eyes, everything was green, not just her irises. Beyond that, she has long dark red hair and lacked eyebrows but had a pair of dots above her eyes where eyebrows would be that matched her hair. She wears a silver gorget, matching bracers on her forearms, and bracelets on her upper arms. A purple short and tight top kept her decent while lacking sleeves and exposed her midriff. A purple skirt fit snugly over her hips with a hint of matching shorts beneath that, held up with a silver belt. Her boots reached above her knees, purple like the rest of her outfit aside from the silver cuff on her thighs and soles that looked to be of silvery metal.

"Star is… an alien." Robin tried to clarify.

"Oh please." Weiss dismissed the claim. "We can't even travel in space, why would aliens come to Remnant?"

"I think we're going to need a lot more explanations by the time this is settled." Robin sighs and receives plenty of nods in return as things would need to be learned from both sides.

"And what about you, 'Caped Mystery Man'?" Yang asks.

"My name is Robin." He has black, spiky hair swept back away from his eyes which are concealed by a black domino mask. The rest of his outfit was rather odd as he wears a red armored vest over a green short sleeve shirt, green tights, and black boots with steel toes and heels. He has a short cape, black on the outside and yellow inside while on his left chest he has a yellow R set on a black circle. Completing the look, he wears green elbow-length gloves and a yellow utility

belt on his waist.

"Really, just Robin?" Yang asks. While she could get behind his build, his choice of attire seemed to be a mess.

Starfire gave her boyfriend a gentle push with her elbow. "I believe we can go by our real names here."

He thought it over briefly. Considering that the only advantage that his team had was that nobody here knew their pasts while their disadvantages were numerous, he relented. "Dick Greyson."

"The name's Victor Stone, but most know me as Cyborg." The mostly mechanical man jabs a thumb at his chest. Standing head and shoulders above everyone but Starfire, he was huge. And that didn't include his very broad shoulders and barrel chest. Large portions of his body are covered in a smooth white metal, mostly his lower legs, shoulders, back, and the underside of his forearms. Black parts were at his joints, especially around his stomach, and seemed to be rather flexible but durable. Accenting that, grey parts formed a collar, a plate over his chest, several nodes on his arms and shoulders, as well as other small strips. Notably, the faintly glowing blue parts through a sort of transparent armor were on both shoulders, forearms, and the left side of his head. Speaking of which, most of his head is metallic including one eye having been replaced by a red sensor of sorts.

The shortest of the group stepped up next. "I'm Beast Boy but my real name is Garfield Logan." He is a spry young man with short messy hair and is wearing what looks to be a bodysuit of some sort that is black in the limbs and sides but a deep purple down the main body. He wears grey gloves on his hands and purple shoes on his feet and a silver belt around his waist. Though the most notable thing about him is that is green everywhere from hair to skin to eyes, along with pointed ears and short fangs in his mouth.

The girl with insect wings spoke up. "Heya, the name's Karen Beecher but I tend to go by Bumblebee." She is decently tall and her Afro ponytails made her seem taller. Her clothes aren't fancy being little more than a black and yellow striped sleeveless turtleneck shirt that left her stomach exposed, black pants with a wide yellow belt that uses a buckle shaped like a B and black boots on her feet. Her only accessories are a pair of yellow bracers and a pair of metallic B's hanging from her belt. But it was the wings that really caught attention, even if one was broken for the moment.

"Jaime Reyes." The next teen introduced himself, retracting his helmet to reveal his tanned face and black hair. The rest of the armor on him is insectoid in appearance, which included a pair of legs or antennae that rose up next to his head as well as another pair that wrapped around his ribs. The biggest thing that was noticeable was the fact that the armor is blue with black areas creating designs across his chest and over his limbs. The armor retracted further, seemingly folding upon itself onto his back to reveal the man inside wearing a simple white t-shirt, blue jeans, and sneakers. "But when the armor is up, you're free to call me Blue Beetle.

"Most call me Speedy but you girls can call me Roy Harper." The archer told them. He is primarily dressed in red, essentially a sleeveless bodysuit that has matching fingerless gloves. The rest of his outfit is golden yellow, from his nearly knee high boots to his utility belt, to his bow and quiver, including the strap over his chest that held said quiver. On his left pectoral, there is a stylized S outlined in the yellow to distinguish it from the red of his suit. The only thing that didn't match the rest of his outfit is the black domino mask over his eyes, though that seemed to be somewhat offset by his short red hair.

"Raven." The last newcomer told them her name. Wearing a black leotard with sleeves that reached her hands and covered her palms, dark blue wristbands and similarly colored cloth shoes. Her accessories are limited to a loose belt of red orbs with golden links and a dark blue cloak. But what caught attention about her, besides the injury to her leg that required her to use a crutch, was that her skin is an ashen grey. Even her chin length purplish-blue hair was of little interest compared to that, though considering that Ruby's hair is black with red tips and Weiss has white hair so young… hair color seems to be a minor issue. But the young woman did notice how Yang flinched slightly at the name. "If… that bothers you, you can call me Rachel Roth."

"Oh-oh! Sorry about that. Here, let me take a look at your leg while we wait." Yang apologizes, recognizes that giving her name seemed to be a rather uncomfortable thing for her. Raven relented, feeling grateful for the chance to sit down again.

Weiss turned around to look around the clearing and the damage that was done to it by the battle. From the pouch on her waist, she drew a device that resembled a cell phone but without a screen. That particular quirk was solved when it was pulled sideways to reveal a holographic screen from which the girl selected an icon before holding the device up to her ear. "Yes, Professor Goodwitch, we're fine. But we do have a need for an early pickup… eight people and some of them are injured. Yes, we'll wait here at the clearing."

With that conversation done, she turned around to face the group. "Our ride will be coming but they are about an hour out. So we'll have some time to relax for a bit."

AN: At long last, the team of Titans have met up with Team RWBY! Plus, with introductions, between them, are out of the way and a ride to get them all to safety, the Titans will soon find out where they really are and what is going on. Perhaps they may begin learning more about what Grimm are and how to fight them soon.

Updates for this story will likely be monthly as I'll be bouncing back and forth with writing chapters for RWBY: The Issues Series. I had hoped to get this done yesterday but life combined with poor estimation abilities on chapter length pushed it back a day. Maybe we'll all get lucky and the next chapters for both series will come easier and thus faster.
