Harry GOT CH 3 update
He spent the next 10 months growing his investments, studying magic, working on his general education, training to fight with axe, sword (Blackfyre), bow, and throwing dagger. His different groups grew as well. He now had 70 Witchers, 50 Phoenix Knights, 30 Alchemists, 30 Red Priests, and 10 Mages (scholars). His trusted advisors included Mel, Thoros, Bronn, and Marwyn.
Harry was ready to go forth once again into the unknown, and he knew exactly where to go. Using ancient records and the glass candles, he made a plan and route he was going to take. It took him months, but he finally got his father's blessing to leave for his trip. He would greatly miss his family, as he was very close to all of them, and it would be a long trip.
His first stop was Storm's End to visit his uncle Renly and try to discover the resting place of the first Storm King, Gods Grief. He had read about him in certain ancient texts that detailed the legends. Using the glass candles and his blood ties to the last Durrandon daughter—whom Orys Baratheon wed to start his house—he was able to see through some of the protections of the entrance to the tomb.
The trip was very quick, and they arrived during a mild storm that the enchanted ship had no problem with. Harry, Marwyn, Mel, Utred, Violet, and Arthur all piled into a skiff and headed into a very small cave at the base of the cliff far below Storm's End. The cave was small, and torches were lit, and thus began a long and winding trip. If the skiff wasn't hardened, it would have already sunk.
They finally reached the end after 6 hours, and the water disappeared beneath the rocks. There was a small landing that began stairs that headed up. They put the skiff on the landing. They walked for 3 hours up stairs, through tunnels. There were a few traps, but they weren't effective as time seemed to wear them all down.
They finally arrived at a chamber. There were markings on the wall. It seemed to be a puzzle written in the runes of the First Men. They spent another 2 hours figuring out the clue, and Marwyn drew the writings into his journal. The answer was to channel magic into the lightning bolt depicted. He did so, and the wall clicked open and, with great difficulty, was pushed open.
The tomb was not what he expected. There were hundreds of stone caskets all around a large circular cave on shelves carved out of the walls. There was treasure as well—old weapons and many other trinkets, mostly destroyed by time. The group walked up to a large curved stone wall, 20 ft tall and 30 ft wide in a semicircle, with large statues of mermaids on either side, all made out of an oily black stone reeking of ancient magic.
In front of the black wall was a hammer (Thor's Mjolnir). The writing on the ancient wall was unlike anything any of them had seen before and seemed to faintly pulse with a kind of glow. They wandered around while Marwyn wrote down the writing in his journal along with descriptions of everything. It all pointed to the hammer, half buried in the stone-like altar in the middle of the room.
Harry approached, grabbed the hammer, and lightning arced up his arm in a feeling of power. He pulled the hammer out of the stone. The writing on the black wall glowed bright and then disappeared. It was quiet, and just when they all began to relax, they heard the sound of stone falling to the floor.
They all turned, and to the side they saw the stone slab that was the lid on one of the caskets on the floor, and a dry black webbed hand grabbed the side. A creature sat up, terrifying everyone. Then they heard it—lid after lid slid off and hit the floor, and more of the dead zombie half-fish, half-human-like creatures were getting out and coming towards them.
Thoros lit his sword with wildfire, lighting up the room. Violet fired an arrow into one of the creatures, who didn't even seem to notice. Harry drew Blackfyre and almost dropped it in shock, as the veins of red in the blade were glowing. Utred swung his sword and cut the head off one, which seemed to work.
The creatures seemed to be coming more quickly as they gained their bearings. He stabbed one with Blackfyre and smashed one with the hammer. Both weapons killed the creatures very well, so he threw Blackfyre to Violet and drew his axe. That seemed to be the trigger, as the fight began in earnest as the monsters all ran at them.
The fight was intense, and they were losing. He tried hard to focus the immense power he felt from the hammer, but it was wild and seemed to fight his control. Using wind, he blasted about 30 back, giving them time to recoup and eliminate the rest, but it left him magically exhausted. He collapsed to his knees as his men formed around him.
Then the 30 were once again upon him, and they fought hard, being scratched, cut, and bitten, but still they fought. Utred, Hadrian, and Marwyn were pretty much down and out, with Bronn now using his and Utred's sword, Violet using Blackfyre, Mel tending to Hadrian, and Arthur standing over them.
Another minute and the fighting ceased as Violet cut the last one down. Forty-five minutes later, everyone but Marwyn was awake and sitting against the curved wall. They put it to their back so they wouldn't be flanked. Everyone was resting, bandaged up, and completely exhausted.
Hadrian was very disappointed in his performance, although they were vastly outnumbered and none of them died. They searched the large cave after another bit of rest, finding more treasure, weapons, and a chest emanating large amounts of magic.
They finally found another tunnel. As they neared the surface, they realized the tunnel had collapsed. They spent another 6 hours clearing a small tunnel Violet could climb through, which let her out on a cliff shelf with a fairly steep hike down to the water. It was mid-afternoon, and the storm had passed.
She got the Pearl's attention and got 10 Witchers to go and help clear the tunnel. Although they were a decent distance from Storm's End and shielded from sight, they moved quickly, gathering a crew of 30 with trunks, sacks, and barrels. The treasure, creatures, and trunk were all gathered, and the entrance collapsed and hidden once again.
He rested on his ship for 2 days, then visited Renly at Storm's End. He spent a week there visiting the castle and spending time with his uncle. He found no other magics there, but Storm's End was an impressive castle. He secured a small manse, warehouse, and a dock on the water while he was there to create another branch of Avalon.
Once back on the ship, he gave the order to head straight east at maximum speed. Two days later, Fawkes came and had a burning day with the hammer and axe, creating a new weapon he called Stormbreaker (Thor's from MCU, but with a shorter handle, white blade, silver hammer, and stone handle with dragonglass inlays).
He, along with 30 Witchers, 40 PK, 5 Mages, 20 crew, 5 Red Priests, Hadrian, Mel, Thoros, Bronn, and Marwyn, rested and studied/catalogued the things from the cave. The zombie fish men were studied, and he figured they were an ancient race. They had some small amount of magic lingering in their bones. Unfortunately, they were not compatible with the Earth or Lightning Stone.
He still needed to find some magic ingredients for him to create a race for each stone he possessed. They figured out what the chest was when gold started disappearing from around the ship and appearing in the chest. It was the mythical treasure chest of the Storm God. It did not have an elemental stone, so it was the equivalent to Melisandre's necklace, but for the Earth Stone.
The legend was it was used to steal from the ocean by dragging it behind the ship, and the chest magically collects treasure nearby. You can set what treasure you want by putting a small sample in the chest, locking it, and dragging it behind your ship, and it will collect nearby stuff. It can be used for anything, really—even fishing.
Hadrian immediately put gold, silver, copper, and Marwyn's Valyrian steel link, then chained it to the large rear anchor reel and tossed it behind the ship. They were just passing Tyrosh when they reeled the chest back in, and to their surprise, it was full of gold, silver, and copper—no steel though.
He pulled out all the stuff except the samples and added gemstones from the Storm Tomb, removing the copper. They went north, emptying the chest twice a day—usually half to three-quarters full of gold and silver, with some jewelry and even a long Valyrian steel dagger. It didn't take long to arrive at their destination, which was Braavos.
They landed and paid for the use of the dock. He had Marwyn and his Mages go and restock the ship full of supplies, looking for books and maps as well. He sent Thoros and Mel to the Red God temple to herald their arrival and enlist their help. He made his way to his destination—the Iron Bank.
Once inside, he met with a manager when they learned he was the prince that had been corresponding with them for years. He asked about opening an account with them separate from the Iron Throne. They were intrigued and agreed. He told them he brought some treasure he wanted minted at the Iron Bank and invested. He also enlisted their help to sell the gems and jewels he had—except for samples, of course.
He stayed in Braavos for 2 weeks, packing his ship full of goods and leaving 140,000 dragons in the Iron Bank along with a chest of select items he kept from the Storm Tomb. He had the priests at the Red Temple start locating magic tomes, maps, and information on supernatural or magical locations.
He also showed up and gave a speech about the Long Night, showing a teenage Fawkes to the devout crowd. He gave them several thousand dragons to recruit the poor to their religion. He visited many of the temples, feeling the huge amount of magic emanating from them. He decided to steer clear until he was stronger.
He did feel something strange when he was in the Iron Bank—magic coming from behind a huge vault door. He would have to look into what it could be.
