Survivor's: Ancient Voices starts playing

As the music begins, various shots of Crios Cath from above are time-lapsed and shown through the screen, notably the highlands, the forest, the bog, the lower fields, the desert, and underground.

Finalists

The camera shows five figures of red, blue, green, yellow, and gray, all warring at each other, carrying symbols of flags. It then pans over the entirety of Crios Cath, showing all the biomes the island has to offer.

Angelo is hauling sandstone in one shot, and harmoniously playing a violin in a second shot.

Frag is putting in effort to freehand climb up a cliff in one shot, and drumming on a large rock while smiling in a second shot.

Setsuna is shown curiously looking at a trap in the ground in one shot, and calmly firing an arrow from a bow in a second shot.

Shameterranean

A white figure, holding a druidic artifact, is seen falling down into what appears to be some kind of underworld, before the camera zooms in so only the underworld image is on the top half of the screen. Meanwhile, the bottom half of the screen pans over the Shameterranean caverns, before showing the remaining players trapped there, in alphabetical order, at the moment of their elimination and doing various tasks.

The camera zooms out to reveal that all the figures and underworld were part of the same picture, the season logo connecting them like a belt.

Location: Nialasach Docks

Contestant(s): Angelo, Frag, Setsuna

Watching: All Eliminated Contestants

"FINAL 3!" Chris announced as the players converged on the Nialasach Docks. "AND ELIMINATED CONTESTANTS!" He cheered as the eliminated players of the season made their way out of what looked to be small Cumhachtach style cabins. "Are you prepared for your FINAL CHALLENGE?!"

Cheers erupted from the crowd and contestants. Chris grinned.

"Much like in the very first renaissance finale, your challenge begins with shipbuilding. But instead of pirate vessels, you'll be constructing viking longships!"

"But the vikings weren't celtic." Frag pointed out.

"That's right, Frag." Chris nodded. "Which is why they felt no qualms about raiding Crios Cath too, while they were exploring the seas. Just like in ancient times, your primary objective this challenge is not to assimilate a rising empire, but to destroy it and replace it with your very own. For now though, you and a group of chosen supporters will be tasked with building longships at villages just like this one along the coast of your original clan's territory. Angelo, because your original clan didn't have a coastline, we're sending you to the Glas Woods in Mealltach territory. The last person to complete their longship and have it set out, carrying themselves and their crew, will be eliminated, placing third."

"That certainly is reminiscent of the renaissance's first season." Angelo nodded. "But what about afterwards?"

"Afterwards," Chris grinned. "The players that finished their longships and were able to set sail will head towards each other's villages, which will be guarded by defending supporters whom you'll fight your way past as you raid the village enough to raise your own clan's flag. When that happens, the finalists will be given a Final Druidic Artifact to rush inwards, towards the Tine Noafa Bonfire Pit, where you must place your artifact on the Final True Resting Place. The first finalist to do this will have fully conquered the island and earned the title of King or Queen of Crios Cath, along with the cool million dollars that goes along with it!"

"So now we choose our teams to help us build the ships?" Setsuna asked.

Chris nodded. "You each get four people to choose among those who already support you to win. The rest will either choose to defend your village from pillagers or simply give you emotional support cheering from the sidelines."

"I know who I want with me." Frag announced.

"Same here." Angelo nodded.

"I have my own choices made too." Setsuna smiled. "How does the choosing work?"

"Well, as last challenge's immunity winner, I'll give first dibs to Frag, then Setsuna, then Angelo."

"Alright then…" Frag looked over at gave a warm smile. "Avi, Bryan, Stan, and of course Carol. How'd you like to join me for one final challenge?"

Carol, of course, excitedly joined Frag's mat, while the rest of his choices seemed not unopposed, just surprised. They'd all been out of the game for quite a long time after all, before the merge had ever even hit.

"Are you sure you want us?" Avi asked.

"We'll be sailing under the Cumhachtach flag." Frag reasoned. "There's no one I'd rather sail with then a crew of my fellow Cumhachtach clan members, free of evils. Stan, you're raw strength will lift us. Avi, the light of your humor will give us morale, and Bryan you know how much we went through together in the early game, so now it's time to close it out. And of course…" Frag turned toward Carol as his other choices joined him on the mat after the brief pep talk. "Every captain needs a first mate he can trust implicitly."

"As if you even needed to ask!" Carol laughed.

Setsuna was up next.

"First…I choose King. I can't not choose King."

"That's what I wanted to hear!" King strode up to Setsuna's mat. "You've come a long way, ja? Let's reach that finish together as allies and friends!"

"I also want to choose Morgana."

"And if the spirits will it, so shall it be." Morgana walked forwards.

"Next…Indigo." Setsuna chose.

"But he screwed our whole clan over!" King protested as Indigo shyly joined the mat.

"Yeah…he fell really badly." Setsuna agreed. "So I want to give him a chance to rise up."

"I appreciate it." Indigo smiled.

"Finally…" Setsuna pointed. "Franchesca. I want Ffydd to rise from its ashes, and we cannot do it without Gamata's blessing."

"And bless you he and his winds shall!" Franchesca proudly stepped up.

"I was kind of hoping to be part of the main crew." Ani shrugged. "But I guess I'll hold down your village as a defender until further notice."

"Thank you." Setsuna said. "And know that you'd have been chosen as well if there was room. I was just going in reverse elimination order."

Finally, it was Angelo's turn to choose.

"Rose, of course. And as for the rest of my crew…Ryuji, Gazella, and Maggie. Let us follow the lead of my fellow finalists and bring Alltud back into the forefront!"

There was no need for any reassurances from Angelo's choices.

"Where are you going?" Ryuji noticed Axel leaving.

"The Mealltach village." Axel responded. "I'm going to defend."

"Ah, then make room for us over there too." Jarri smiled as she briefly looked back to Roxanne and Molly who nodded.

"If the crew formation is all done," Chris noticed "then let's get on with this challenge! It's time to build some longships!"

Challenge: Conquest of the Raiders (Pt 1)

Rules: Throughout their time eliminated, the eliminated contestants have been building various villages among the rocky coastline of Crios Cath. During this phase of the two part Finale challenge, the contestants and crews chosen from their supporters must construct longships meant to ferry them to their opponent's village location. The last contestant to finish their ship will place 3rd.

Angelo's Crew: Rose, Gazella, Maggie, Ryuji

Frag's Crew: Avi, Bryan, Stan, Carol

Setsuna's Crew: Franchesca, Indigo, King, Morgana

FINALE PROCEED!

Location: Cailleach Coast

Finalist & Team: Setsuna, Franchesca, Indigo, King, Morgana

Potential Village Defender(s): Ani

"You guys have got this!" Ani offered encouragement from the costal swamp villages that had been constructed.

"First thing is first." Setsuna nodded to her team as they all prepared to start moving planks and constructing the ship. "We need to sit down and draw up a production outline."

"A what?" Indio tilted his head.

"Setsuna, I get that you want to be proper about this…" King smiled. "But surely it'd be faster to just get to building, ja?"

"We'll be more effective if we have a plan and follow through with it." Setsuna determined. "I think the main reason we usually did so poorly in challenges was because we were never operating under a unified plan."

"She's the captain, so we might as well draw up an outline for the production of the ship." Morgana suggested.

"Gamata has never needed directions." Franchesca crossed her arms. "But if His wind has seen fit to guide Setsuna to a captain's position, then I would be a fool to gainsay Him. Let's get to blueprinting."

Switch Location: Nialasach Docks on the Neart Highland Coast

Finalist & Team: Frag, Avi, Bryan, Carol, Stan

Potential Village Defender(s): Jeremy, Tiberius

"...Why?" Jeremy asked Tiberius as he noticed the man standing among the village.

"This is the strength village." Tiberius snorted in response. "My sole concern is not allowing it to crumble under those idiots like the clan itself did."

"It crumbled under you though, right?" Jeremy remembered.

"Shove it." Tiberius pouted and proceeded to ignore Jeremy.

"Go get 'em, you guys!" Jeremy called out ot Frag and his team.

"Hell yeah!" Frag and the others rose fists in solidarity to Jeremy before huddling among themselves.

"Alright you guys." Frag grinned. "We're building from the base upwards so let's get started on those bottom planks. If anyone has any immediate questions during the workload, listen to our resident engineer." He cocked his head toward Bryan. "Other than that we're full speed ahead constructing this ship. It doesn't have to be flawless, just has to be seaworthy. Break!"

"Woo!" Avi, Bryan, Carol, and Stan all shouted as they busily got to work carrying planks and nails.

"You guys really are strong!" Carol noted Bryan and Stan both managing to haul multiple planks by themselves while she and Avi worked together to transport theirs.

"Of course we are!" Stan grinned. "We weren't put on this clan for nothing!"

"And don't worry if you feel like you and Avi aren't contributing by not being as strong." Bryan encouraged. "You're both way faster than we are so you'll be entrusted with a lot of the nailwork connecting planks together."

"Thanks, but I promise we won't feel like we aren't contributing because we're ready to work our asses off!" Avi laughed as Carol joined in with a nod.

"Couldn't have said it better myself!"

Switch Location: Glas Woods Coast

Finalist & Team: Angelo, Gazella, Maggie, Rose, Ryuji

Potential Village Defender(s): Axel, Jarri, Molly, Roxanne

"I wasn't aware Angelo had so much Mealltach sway." Axel noted the high amount of Mealltach women present to defend the village should Angelo become a finalist.

"Well he was like…basically always on the border and Rose loved talking to him." Molly shrugged. "Figure if a Mealltach can't win, then we ought to support an honorary member at least."

"Yeah, Angelo might be a real prince who wants to make Rose a real queen-to-be." Jarri laughed. "But to us it's more like Rose is the Queen and Angelo gets to be her consort."

"Go kick some butt you guys!" Roxanne shouted to Angelo and his crew.

"We've got a lot of support!" Rose beamed proudly at the amount of defenders present.

"Which is good." Angelo nodded. "Though I'd hoped we'd have even more. It seems like most of the cast doesn't quite care one way or the other which of the three of us win."

"Well, look at it this way." Ryuji offered. "It means we aren't going to be dealing with any saboteurs this challenge because so much of the cast is fine with any outcome."

"But I still think an Alltud win is the best outcome." Gazella laughed. "Are we gonna build this ship or just stand around talking?"

"Right!" Maggie piped up. "About that, I have some ideas!"

"We'll you heard her!" Angelo grinned. "We're all ears, Maggie!"

Switch Locations (Cailleach Coast)

"That's it, you guys are doing so well!" Ani could hardly believe his eyes as Ffydd had gone from doing nothing but talking and drawing up blueprints to powering through their ship construction by following their outline to the letter.

Switch Locations (Neart Coast)

"Don't lose heart you guys!" Jeremy called out encouragement as it seemed like the initial sprinting pace of Frag and his crew had slowed a bit. "Just keep building and don't break your inertia!"

Switch Locations (Glas Coast)

"Ayo Maggie!" Jarri called out happily. "Look at her, guiding them all through the shipbuilding, it's going so smoothly!"

"I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we're in the lead compared to the others at this rate." Molly agreed.

Switch Locations (Skies Above)

"And the longships are being built neck and neck to each other right now!" Chris announced. "After a super slow start, Setsuna and her crew have practically caught up to the other finalists, but they're both still in the lead! How long can they keep it up though? After all, it doesn't seem like Setsuna's team shows any signs of slowing their pace down!"

A brief montage of united shipbuilding from each clan follows.

Gazella and Rose working together to hammer some planks together.

Carol and Bryan figuring out the best way to create a mast pole.

King and Indigo working together to create a sail with Ffydd's logo.

Ryuji and Maggie hauling a cannon onto the ship together.

Stan letting Avi stand on his shoulders in order to hoist the sail bearing the Cumhachtach stag skull.

Franchesca and Morgana on opposite ends of the longship, designing the head and rudder respectively.

A split screen of Angelo, Frag, and Setsuna all pointing and working and ordering their teams while their potential defenders cheer them on in the background.

Soon, however…

There was a dynamic shift.

"A ship has entered the water!" Chris called from a megaphone as the contestants on the coastline of that ship cheered in applause. "The first member of our final two is…

… ANGELO FURALAAS!"

Friendly cheers from all the eliminated contestants who weren't defenders or crew members erupted.

Switch Locations (Cailleach Coast)

"Uh-oh!" King worried. "We need to get this ship in the water and fast!"

"Draw on whatever reserves of energy you have, but don't stray from the plan!" Setsuna called out as the remade Ffydd clan began to triple-time it.

Switch Locations (Neart Coast)

"Quick, we gotta move move move, people!" Frag called out as he and his crew put in their 210%.

"Our ship is at near 100% percent completion!" Byran noted. "Let's get this thing to sea ASAP!"

Shift Location (Cailleach Coast)

"Done!" Franchesca and Morgana called to Setsuna as all of Ffydd sans the defender Ani rushed to push their ship into the water.

Shift Location (Neart Coast)

"Done!" Avi and Stan called to Frag as he, Bryan, and Carol all joined them towards pushing their own ship into the water.

Shift Location (Skies Above)

"It's neck and neck!" Chris announced. "As both of our remaining finalists rush to join Angelo in the final two!"

Both ships on their coasts made nearly identical progress towards their shores.

At any point it seemed like it could spell victory for either player.

Until.

Finally.

A second ship made the water.

It was incredibly close too, as the third place ship was complete, seaworthy, and entered the water on its own very soon after.

Only losing out by just a second or two.

Still, it was clear enough that Chris could tell from his helicopter.

"And joining Angelo in the final two…" Chris called through his megaphone while both crews looked up, hopeful and desperate from their coastlines. "...Is….

… … … … … SETSUNA LEVINE!" Chris shouted out as Ffydd fell into a fit of victorious laughter, cheering, and applause! "ANGELO AND SETSUNA ARE OUR FINAL TWO! FRAG, IT WAS A GREAT RUN, BUT THE ISLAND OF CRIOS CATH HAS SPOKEN!"

Location: All Over

Contestants: Angelo, Setsuna

Placing 3rd: Frag

Setsuna boarded her ship. The reflections of King, Indigo, Morgana, and Franchesca came into her eyes.

Angelo boarded his ship on his side of the island. Rose, Gazella, Maggie, and Ryuji smiled as he stepped on the deck.

Franchesca was first to greet Setsuna on the boat. The winds blew through her robes. "Gamata sees the light in you." She nodded. "He always has."

Setsuna nodded. "Thank you for shedding some of Gamata's light on me."

Gazella shook hands with Angelo. "Congrats on making the final 2!"

"I appreciate it coming from someone I sent down." Angelo chuckled.

"No hard feelings." Gazella smiled.

"It was noble of you to hand the Druidic Artefact to Jeremy." Angelo smiled at her. "I was wrong about you."

Setsuna approached Morgana next. Morgana bowed her head. "Your victory will be in the hands of yourself and the spirits of Crios Cath." She smirked. "That's us. Don't forget that."

Setsuna giggled. "I won't."

Angelo and Ryuji exchanged a handshake as well, but more casual. Ryuji chuckled. "Out of everyone of Alltud, I had a feeling you'd be able to make it the farthest."

Angelo chuckled. "Thank you, Ryuji. And I heard what had happened in the Shameterranean. That was brave of you."

Setsuna nodded at Indigo, causing him to blush. He bowed his head out of respect and little shame. "I- I-"

Setsuna frowned. "The answer is no, I will not be your girlfriend. Before you start thinking about getting one of those, focus on bettering yourself. I know it can be hard, trust me, I've been through a huge emotional gauntlet myself, but you need to become someone that can already be happy and productive before you look for a partner to share it with. As the de facto Queen of the newly reformed Ffydd, and one that will never hand it off to you, I hope you take this advice to heart."

Indigo nodded. "I will."

Angelo approached Maggie next. He placed his hand on her shoulder. "You must be as exhausted as I."

"Well," Maggie smiled briefly. "I had some time to relax in between my elimination and now."

"I wished you could have outlasted Arianna."

"I'm proud of where I placed." Maggie wiped some sand off her forehead.

"I'm proud of you, too."

Setsuna approached King. He smiled at her. "I will be honest. I did not think you could make it this far. I'm so proud of you."

Setsuna's breathing grew heavy.

"You are not the same girl that claimed that she was only good with a bow and would only stay a couple of episodes. Remember saying that?"

A tear came out of Setsuna. "I do, yeah."

"You knew so little, yet so much at the same time." King hugged Setsuna. "I am so happy to have you as my friend."

"Me too." Setsuna sobbed.

Confessional: Setsuna

"I've mentioned before having grown throughout this season, but for some reason, seeing King again… someone I thought I wouldn't be able to get through the merge without… brought all those memories of being on this competition flying through my memory. I've won. I've already made a personal gain on this island, but I'm not against officially winning…"

End Confessional

Angelo approached Rose. Rose knelt down to play up Angelo's royalty.

He giggled. "You're adorable. You may rise." They stared at each other in a reflective silence.

Rose had been cleaned up and restored to when she first arrived.

Angelo had grown into his murky, shirtless state, especially considering he had just competed in three challenges in one day.

He didn't want to touch her.

She brushed some of his hair out of his face and straightened up his crown.

"Blossom, that is the least of my concerns right now."

"If you're gonna be a hot, exile, winner prince, then you should look the part~"

"Oh, please, I've been living in the elements for weeks. There's no way-"

Rose shushed him. She finished fixing up his crown and rebraided his hair quickly. "There… you're ready."

Angelo looked down. "I certainly don't feel ready."

"A wise person once told me, you have to own it. Be fierce! You have no reason to feel doubts. You helped guide Alltud. You guided me through my loss on Mealltach and helped me rise as Queen. I owe it to you that I was the only ruler who lasted through the entire clan phase. You led Alltud while Axel was going crazy. You navigated the merge during the allegations. You outlasted that and were able to blend back into camp. You got your revenge, your innocence was revealed, and you outlasted a sudden death challenge and a vote!" Rose put a hand on her heart. "I am so proud of you! Thank you for making it this far."

With each beat of Rose's words, a tear sprung into Angelo's eyes until they poured out and out. He took in a couple of sniffles.

"Oh, no, I didn't want to make you-"

Angelo interrupted her with a hug. It could've lasted a lifetime. He sobbed into her shoulder, and she rubbed his bare back.

Confessional: Angelo

He wiped a couple of tears away. "I… didn't expect to get emotional today… I…she really took it out of me. The stress, grief, and chaos in my mind came out right then. An… embarrassing moment… I'll likely skip over that when rewatching, but now I can fight with a clearer mind, alongside the love of my life and three other that have helped me rise into my position."

End Confessional

Frag sat aboard his ship, completed only just barely too late. He leaned over the rails and reflected on his loss. As the wind brushed through his fohawk, he sighed.

"Hey," Carol came up to him, "We had to come so close, didn't we?"

"We did." Frag nodded. "Otherwise, I'd be embarrassed, but I'm proud."

"You should be. It takes a lot to rise and fall."

Frag giggled. "You'd know that firsthand, huh?"

"Oh, you are the worst!" Carol playfully smacked Frag's shoulder, while he laughed. They stifled to a small silence where Frag fought up the words he wanted to utter.

Carol watched the waves ebb and flow against the rocky shores of Crios Cath.

Now's your chance, Frag didn't have the words. Only the end goal. What would Carol do? She would go for it. Then go for it. Frag took a deep breath. "So…" he had to go for it now. Carol waited for the rest of his response while he swallowed the lump in his throat. "Now that the competition is over, and I can't make any more stupid mistakes…" He chuckled, but beat himself inwards for making that embarrassing statement. "How about we go for it?" Frag shrugged, hoping she would know what he meant.

"Go for it?" Carol rose an eyebrow, wondering if Frag meant jumping off the rails and landing in the ocean. It sounded exciting to her until she considered the rocky shore.

"Yeah, let's keep and touch, and… maybe go on a date sometime."

Carol laughed. "That sounds great!"

They stared into each other's eyes, the same way they did when they first met.

Carol decided to 'go for it,' the second thing she thought Frag meant when he uttered that phrase. She stepped up on her tip-toes and delivered Frag the kiss that he swore he had a dream about once.

*Frag's Elimination Confessional:

"YEESSS! I am the luckiest man right now! Okay, yes, I did just place third, but third out of thirty-six! Are you kidding me? And I just got the coolest girl on the island, so that's a huge plus! I'm proud of myself, and all those silly mistakes I made in my game will be something I will laugh about one day. I get to be a teenager that did teenage things and laugh about it, and I'm so happy. Congrats, Setsuna and Angelo, and peace!"

End Confessional*

Setsuna, Angelo, and Chris wiped their tears away as Chris brought the microphone up to his mouth from the Tine Naofa Bonfire Pit. "Angelo and Setsuna, final two and company, it's time to compete in your final challenge to crown one of you the King or Queen of Crios Cath! Oh yeah, the million dollars, that too. Defenders will be at their village protecting these:" Chris held up a prop. "The final Druidic Artefacts! Finalists will need to locate the Druidic Artefacts within the villages after giving them a good ransacking and place it on the Final True Resting Place, here at the Tine Naofa Bonfire Pit! But before that," Chris chuckled, "You have your clan flags on your ships. You will lower the other village flag and replace it as your own, symbolizing the absolute take over of the vikings! Questions?"

"No," Frag stood up. "Only concerns. I just gotta get to that Ffydd village to defend Setsuna then."

Avi stood. "If you're going then so am I."

Bryan nodded. "We've got your back, kiddo."

Stan cocked his head to the side. "You were the final Cumhoetach king."

"Whelp this is a little awkward then." Carol laughed.

Frag perked up. "Oh no…"

Carol waved it off. "It's okay. I was gonna rush over to Angelo's village myself, so I had a feeling something like this would happen."

"Okay, babe." Frag playfully threatened. "Get ready to be destroyed!" He said as he ran off.

"Oh no, you're going down!" Carol ran off in the opposite direction of the boys.

Challenge: Conquest of the Raiders (Pt 2)

Rules: Both finalists must make haste using their longships towards their opponent's village, which is guarded by defenders made up of their supporters. As the raiders pillage the villages, flags representing the original clan of each raider will steadily rise along flagpoles. Once the flags reach the top of the pole, the village has been pillaged enough and the finalists can grab the Final Druidic Artifact from the raided village square and make haste towards Tine Naofa and the old Tomb of Shame entrance. The Final True Resting Place. The first player to place their Final DA on the Final True Resting Place will finish their conquest and win Total Drama Crios Cath.

The Winner of this challenge will be deemed the King or Queen of Crios Cath.

Angelo's Defenders: Carol, Jarri, Molly, Axel, Roxanne

Angelo's Attackers: Angelo, Rose, Gazella, Maggie, Ryuji

Setsuna's Defenders: Ani, Avi, Frag, Stan, Bryan

Setsuna's Attackers: Franchesca, Indigo, King, Morgana, Setsuna

FINALE CONCLUDE!

Setsuna and company swam out to their boat in the water on the coast. As of right now, that company was King, Indigo, Franchesca, and Morgana. Ani was back at the village defending, and the other boys had still not shown up yet. Setsuna let out a tired sigh. "Man, if only we had some strong men to help us out."

With a grunt from King, the first crewman was on the ship to help the others. Soon, Setsuna was aboard her ship. "Okay, guys… I kinda hope more people show up for me, but you can keep Angelo out of our city, right Ani?"

"I can." Ani gave some thumb guns from the coastline.

"Ffydd, we may have fallen in the past, but we! Can! Do it! We have the power of the spirits! The power of God! The power of Gamata! The power of whatever King and Indigo believe in… and ARAWN! We need to keep our beliefs strong. We've been put together because that's our biggest strength! Raise the sails, Indigo! Bring the anchor up, Franchesca! We've got a pillage to conduct! Good luck, Ani!"

Ani waved goodbye as the rest of the clan left him behind.

Just as the rest of Ffydd left….

Stan panted. "Oh, good no one is here yet." The rest of Cumhachtach were right behind him.

Ani facepalmed. "Are you serious? You just missed it!"

"Miss what?" Bryan asked.

"Setsuna had a great speech before she left. It's okay, I can recite it."

Avi's eyes widened. "She just left? She's probably way behind."

Ani froze, still deep in thought. "But it only really addressed Ffydd so I don't know how much it'll motivate you guys."

Frag put a hand on his chest. "Considering these are my boys, I can motivate them, easy." Frag cleared his throat. "A one, a two, a one-two-three."

The Cumhachtach boys chanted. "Lift, lift, pull, pull, big boy man,

"We got rid of our king Stan~" the boys gestured to Stan, reminiscing their time.

Ani looked in disbelief.

"We will win this victory,

"Or else we will be down to three~

"Lift, lift, pull, pull big boy man,

"We just wrote this verse for Stan~"

The boys continued the whole chant. Even Ani was laughing with them after the song had finished.

Shift Camera Focus: Alltud/Mealltach Village

Angelo helped his crew onto his ship. It was quite easy because of how many defenders there were to help out from the coast.

"There," Axel brushed his hands off. "Now get out there."

Angelo embarked his ship. "It's been a long journey. I'm so grateful that you all have chosen to help me out. Whether or not a fifth comes, if they do come, share this message with them. I wish to win today, but if I don't and Setsuna's force overpowers ours, then I want us to lose while trying our very hardest. If we end up losing embarrassingly, I want us to be able to say that we did absolutely everything in our power. We must give it our all! Anything could happen, so we must be prepared. Farewell, land! Let us conquer some more!" Angelo turned to his crew. Effectively, Gazella brought the anchor up and Ryuji mast the sails. "Good luck defending!"

Once Angelo left, Axel took the reigns. "Okay, Mealltach ladies. You may not be used to this, but on Alltud, we warm up for challenges."

"Sounds fun." Jarri shrugged.

"I'm down." Roxanne nodded.

"Sure." Molly nodded.

Axel nodded. "Line up, and let's get started. We'll be sure to give Setsuna and Ffydd their roughest challenge yet!"

When Carol showed up, she joined in.

Shift Camera Focus: Just outside Alltud/Mealltachville

Setsuna turned the wheel, a bit far away from the Mealltach campsite.

Morgana looked from the watchtower. "We're heading inland! We're heading inland!"

"We're about to disembark! I would rather be stealthy than have a giant, noticeable ship roll in. Weigh anchor!" The clan did as Setsuna instructed.

King rubbed his forehead. "It would've been nice if we discussed this beforehand."

Setsuna sighed. "It's my first time controlling the whole clan, but, here, let's talk about this now." The clan disembarked and walked towards the Glas Woods. "I want us to go in at all angles, not just from one direction. It's gonna be 1v1 unless some miracle happens, which it probably won't, so I want our advantage as high as possible." Setsuna pointed up. "There was something a young fellow named Michael did up there. Scandalous, but a good strat. We lived in a treehouse, so we should all be familiar with climbing trees. If you fall, there are plenty of traps to catch you." Setsuna walked away from her clan. "I'll go in from the back, but do you think we should all go in at once, or should be scattered?"

Franchesca prayed and received her answer. "The winds are telling me that the four of us should go in first, surprise them, and have you sneak in from behind."

"Any objections?" Setsuna asked.

"None from me." Morgana shook her head.

"Actually…for maybe the first time…I think it's a good idea." King nodded.

Indigo smiled. "Let's go Ffydd!"

Angelo's ship calmly sailed into the coast of the Cailleach Bog. The boat navigated the coast, with some damage.

"Nope! Nope! Nope! Nope!" Gazella jumped off the boat. Ryuji and Maggie followed. Angelo let Rose off first before he jumped off.

"Is everyone alright?" Rose asked, in a hushed tone.

Nods from everyone.

"I believe so." Angelo spoke up. "Does anyone have a better plan besides to fuck shit up?"

"I have some ideas." Ryuji rubbed his hands together. Ryuji told his plan to the clan.

Rose perked up. "I can help you with that!"

Angelo nodded. "Then help Ryuji with that. Anything else?"

Maggie thought. "Who's on Setsuna's guard?"

"I'll take a peek!" Ryuji scrambled off. In the while that they waited, Rose instructed everyone to find reeds and help her braid them. He returned. "The other guy from Ffydd, and then Frag, Stan, Bryan, and Avi."

"Cumhachtach, eh?" Gazella nodded. "They're due for some revenge. I also have some ideas." Gazella huddled up with the team once again.

Rose stood back in horror. "Ugh! They did that to you? No. Unacceptable. I suppose I will take part in both of these plans."

"No, Blossom, you will wear yourself out." Angelo shook his head. "How about Ryuji and Maggie, and Gazella and Rose. I will focus on my challenge if that's okay."

Maggie nodded. "That's okay. Our smaller builds will help us sneak around."

Ryuji snickered. "I don't really think you need to focus that much, but I'll allow it. I think the plan would work better if you went with the ladies."

Angelo nodded. "I will do just that then. Are we ready?"

Shift Camera Focus

"Ready?" Morgana mouthed to the Ffydd in the trees.

They all gathered around, looking down on Angelo's village. Ready to pillage.

Morgana, Indigo, Franchesca, and King jumped from their respective trees. The pulleys screeched when they landed, cutting the Defender's warmup/workout session in half. The Raiders broke down doors in search of the one item.

Molly followed after Morgana. She wielded two prop daggers, and many other prop throwing knives (with blunt and safe edges). Morgana found a prop quarterstaff in the cabin that she raided.

Morgana deflected each dagger, and Molly dodged each attack. Backing Molly up more and more, Morgana managed to exit the cabin, and she ran into the next building to pillage. Molly tackled the ghost whisperer, trying to slow her down by any means. Molly held Morgana down by her quarterstaff, trapping Morgana's hands. Morgana whispered a prayer. Molly felt chills down her neck.

"What the fuck?" She put a hand on the back of her neck.

Morgana kicked herself up. "That is why you don't mess with a Ffydd."

Roxanne found Franchesca in their cathedral…. praying?

Roxanne sat next to Franchesca. "Uh, what's up?"

"Nothing." Franchesca kept her eyes closed. "Gamata wills it." She got up and began absolutely wrecking shit.

"Not on my watch!" Roxanne pulled Franchesca away from the walls. Franchesca got far away from Roxanne, and ran towards her. Roxanne was bracing for an epic duel, but Franchesca grabbed Roxanne and crashed into a wall with her.

"FUCK!" Roxanne screamed in pain.

"Roxie!" Jarri got up, mid-tackling Indigo. Indigo scrambled away. Franchesca followed Indigo. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, just a couple of scratches." Roxanne stood up. "I'm gonna get some water."

While they did that, Indigo and Franchesca worked on lowering the flag.

"Oh, no, you don't!" Jarri tackled Indigo.

Franchesca smiled. "You see, there is only one of you now."

Carol came from behind and downed Franchesca.

Morgana noticed these happenings, and stood up from her scramble with Molly. She ran to the flag and successfully brought it down, but Molly grabbed the flag back. A scramble for the flag began between the six people present.

When Carol grabbed the flag, she ran towards a fire and held it over that. Ffydd backed off, and the Mealltach girls slowly approached. "Carol, what are you doing?" Molly asked.

Carol did not break. "Ffydd, where is your ruler?"

Indigo laughed. "Like we would tell you that."

Jarri punched his stomach and sent him to the ground. "She asked a question."

Morgana rolled her eyes. "You could ask all of us that all day. We won't answer."

Jarri punched Morgana's stomach as well, but Morgana dodged. She spun her quarterstaff and clocked Jarri's shoulder.

Franchesca nodded. "I also refuse to answer."

Carol's face darkened. She ran off with the flag in her hands.

Franchesca lingered by the flagpole, and clipped the Ffydd flag to it. She waited to raise the flag.

Morgana chased Carol, trying to keep her away from the flagpole. The other girls and Indigo helped when they could, even Roxanne came back to join them.

But little did they know, Ffydd was only biding their time.

Shift Camera Focus: Ffydd Village

Angelo, Rose, and Gazella came upon the campsite in three opposite directions.

Angelo stuck a stick in the ground. "Well, if it isn't Frag."

Frag decided to play along. "If it isn't Angelo."

Rose sighed. "Angelo, you're not doing this." She stepped in front of the guys, who still have not ambushed or anything.

Stan stood ready. "I'm waiting on you, y'know."

Ani nodded. "I know, I know."

"Whenever you say 'attack', we attack."

Ani nodded. "I know."

"Are you gonna say it?"

"Not yet."

Gazella laughed. "You have the first Ffydd out be the one in charge instead of the 2nd runner up?"

Avi rolled his eyes. "It was supposed to be subtle. Frag is in charge though."

Gazella shrugged. "Eh, doesn't matter to me." She ran over to a series of houses and pushed the first on down. Like dominoes, they all fell one by one.

The boys watched until the houses were halfway through falling before Ani called: "ATTACK!"

Stan immediately picked Angelo up. Angelo beat and punched the hell out of Stan's back. He flipped and slipped out of Stan's grasp.

But Stan had gotten him to the exact spot he wanted him. With a powerful shove, Angelo hit a wall, and Stan closed the gate.

"The slammer? Ffydd had one of these?" Angelo called out from the bars.

Stan shrugged. "Religious folk tend to take their punishments seriously."

While Gazella distracted the boys and wrecked more shit, Rose worked on the flag post. She lowered the flag down halfway until Ani tackled her.

Rose tended to a few of her scratches.

Ani stood. "Get away from the flagpole and move out!"

"No way! Never! This is my duty!" Rose called from the ground. She stood up.

"I'm not a fighter." Ani held up a prop war-axe. "But I will fight if I have to."

Rose stood back in shock. She took a deep breath and brushed back some of her hair. "You wouldn't hit a lady."

"I would." Ani said. "For Setsuna."

"An unarmed lady though?" Rose asked.

"Uh, you can get your weapon from the blacksmith, oh wait, your friend knocked that building down. I guess I'll have to." Ani swung the war-axe down, and Rose moved out of the way. She leaned over the handle and punched Ani's chest. Ani doubled back, and Rose ripped the war-axe out of his grip. "Where did you learn to do that?"

"The Shameterranean." Rose pointed the war-axe at Ani. "Now allow me to conclude my task, will you~?"

Frag, Bryan, and Avi chased Gazella around. Avi cut her off when he could, and they would get into small, barbaric tackles. Frag made use of the terrain, moving things in and out of her way to make her path more difficult. Bryan kept going inside the buildings, trying to convince Gazella not to knock down buildings with people inside of them.

None of that was any use.

Angelo stood in his cage, trying to find a way to alert Gazella of his situation without letting the others know. There had to be a way.

Rose finished raising the flag and ran over to find Angelo. Stan stood in front of the cage as a guard dog. "You're not getting through."

Rose held out her war-axe. "Excuse me, sir. I have a comically large axe. I think you are the weaker one here."

"Well, you see," Stan pulled out his own axe. "I also have an axe."

"Oh, yeah, well…" Rose looked around and found a small ditch. "You see that ditch? That's your grave right there!"

Stan thought for a moment. "You see," he pointed at another hole, "I have one for you too."

"Okay, well, how about the will to crush someone who subjected someone else to strip and thus hating the Cumhachtach clan more than I already did, huh? I bet you don't have one of those!"

Stan pulled out his own thoughts. "Well, you are on Angelo's team and Tiberius hated Alltud and Alltud made our challenges harder, so because you're dating an Alltud, I guess I temporarily dislike you for this challenge. Ha! It appears as though we are evenly matched." While Rose and Stan fought, it became clear that Stan's height advantage nullified any of Rose's advantages she highlighted earlier.

That's fine. Winning this fight wasn't her goal. She slammed her back into the bars and allowed Stan to break through the gate.

Angelo sprinted out of the slammer. He looked around at the collapsed city for his Druidic Artefact. With more buildings collapsing, it could have possible been crushed. "Where is it?" Angelo looked around more frantically, double skimming areas he had already checked.

He turned around.

Ani stood behind him, carrying the Druidic Artefact. Stan and Frag had found Maggie and Ryuji slinking around.

Ffydd/Cumhachtach had surrounded Alltud.

Shift Camera Focus

King had had a fairly easy time breaking through door by door, but he finally found the right one. It seemed to be a small book shop or library. Rather small shelves filled the four walls of the room, and a small counter in the corner.

Axel stood in front of an altar. It was pretty obvious what was behind him.

The Druidic Artefact.

"I see you've come for this?" Axel snickered. "I won't let you have it."

"Fine, but I'm not the one who will benefit from it." King stuck his head out the door. He gave Franchesca a thumbs up, and Franchesca raised the flag.

Setsuna nodded from the tree and lowered herself. She rushed into the building King was in. Axel and Setsuna stood face to face. King left the building, and attacked it from the outside.

Setsuna grappled Axel. Axel, being stronger, had an easier time escaping from it. But Setsuna knocked the Druidic Artefact off the altar and picked it up. She bolted out of the building, with Axel flipping up to his feet just as King knocked the building down.

With the Druidic Artefact in her hands, Setsuna escaped through the city via one of the traps. She flung herself into the trees, and left her Raiders behind.

Everyone stopped attacking.

"Good luck, Setsuna!" King called out.

Molly sighed, exhausted. "I think we let him down. That was humiliating."

Indigo shrugged. "I don't think so. I think you guys did pretty well."

Morgana nodded. "We were just prepared this time."

Carol panted. "We were too. We just didn't realize you all had a good plan."

King looked out in the distance. "Only time will tell whether or not your loss here was that major. We'll see…"

Shift Camera Focus: Ffydd City

Ani held the Druidic Artefact in his grasp. The rest of Cumhachtach surrounded Alltud.

Stan laughed. "There is nowhere for you to go now."

Ryuji remained calm. "Actually, you never know what's gonna happen, so you should always be prepared!"

Avi nodded. "Well, yes, I agree, but I hate to say that I don't see how that affects this particular situation."

Rose handed Maggie the war-axe that looked even larger in Maggie's grasp. Gazella grabbed hold of Ani and the Druidic Artefact. When Maggie hit the war-axe to the ground, ropes that Alltud had spent time setting up snagged on the members of Cumhachtach and sent them up into trees.

"Don't worry." Rose smiled. "I hear Setsuna has gotten really good at getting out of traps, so she'll let you out after the challenge."

"Until then." Gazella smirked. "Consider this punishment for subjecting me to that strip show."

Angelo took the Druidic Artefact from a now defenseless Ani and stepped away from him. "Now if you don't mind me, I have a certain place I need to put this to become King of this island."

Rose blew a kiss. "Good luck, not that you'll need it~"

Angelo caught it and bolted.

Location: The Ionad Desert

Angelo stumbled out of the villages, scratched, but nothing serious. He bolted towards the desert, his prop rapier he picked up in one hand and his Druidic Artefact in the other. He ran, not worrying about the scorching sun, the dryness of his throat, or the ever shifting dunes. He just had to make it to the Tine Naofa Bonfire Pit.

A prop arrow struck close to his ankle. He turned around. Setsuna was about thirty feet away from him on another dune. An impressive shot. A threatening appearance.

Angelo slid down the dune.

Setsuna quickly walked along the top. "I won't let you win so easily!" She smiled, knocking another arrow. "Don't you know it's foolish to let the archer have the high-ground?"

Angelo rushed ahead of Setsuna. Eventually, the dune evened out and they were on the same ground. "I've lived here long enough to know how the terrain shifts and where everything is. How far do you think we are to the fire pit?"

Setsuna smiled. "I know precisely where it is." She launched her arrow far away from where either of them were standing. But to them, it seems as though it would've landed at the bonfire pit.

"I won't let you get to it!" Angelo rushed ahead of Setsuna.

While running, Setsuna launched arrow after arrow at Angelo. Never to hurt. Only to distract and threaten. Her own Druidic Artefact hung on a woven bag across her back.

A dizziness overcame Angelo as he ran. He needed water. He ran until he found the right cactus, and let Setsuna's arrows take the stalk out. He drank and proceeded, but now Setsuna was ahead of him. A smile overcame him.

Time to do things the old fashioned way. Maneuvering his rapier, he attempted to pull the woven bag off of Setsuna's shoulder strap. Setsuna aimed a prop arrow at Angelo's shoulder and hit it. It bounced off of him, and he massaged the pain out. The next arrow he deflected out of the air and went to attack Setsuna. Setsuna blocked with her bow and kicked Angelo to the ground. Angelo swept at her leg. He strode toward the bonfire pit which was beginning to appear. The old campsite that was lived in for a couple of days remained upon them.

The top of the dune with the thought of elimination always lingering.

Now it was the finish line. Angelo and Setsuna had always been looking towards their victory.

Setsuna shot at the hand Angelo's rapier had been in. It flew out of his hand. Out of the equation.

Setsuna abandoned her bow and tackled Angelo down the dune.

As the pair rolled and tumbled, sand flew around them, clouding their surroundings and making it harder for either of them to see.

Indeed they might have both been blinded…

If not for the flickering embers of the nearby Tine Naofa Bonfire.

Both finalists tripped over each other as they fought to get back up to their feet, each now carrying their respective DA close to their chests, fighting against the small sandstorm they themselves were responsible for kicking up.

It almost seemed as if the island itself was trying to defend against their actions.

Crios Cath did not want to be conquered.

Angelo grabbed Setsuna's ankle and tripped her allowing him to overtake her.

Setsuna managed to do the same to Angelo.

The wind picked up and howled, pulling more sand along with it as the embers of the fire threatened to smolder out and leave the finalists lost in the storm.

Angelo and Setsuna managed to exchange brief glances through the weather and nodded at each other.

Arms draped over each other's shoulders, they rode out the storm, aiding each other through the shifting dunes, until finally they broke through the rough weather and could see their goal.

They slowly broke from each other, and gave each other a knowing nod before taking off at a full sprint towards their final destination.

They overtook each other many times on their way there, making progress at a near indistinguishable speed.

And as they both reached the pit and roughly the same time, they threw their DAs towards the flames of Tine Naofa, from different angles.

It was because of this shift of angles.

This difference of positions.

That one DA managed to knock the other way and claim victory for its thrower.

Flames overtook the Druidic Artifact and the bonfire roared to herald in Crios Cath's new ruler.

"WE HAVE….A WINNER!" Chris announced from his helicopter.

"THE CONQUERER OF CRIOS CATH AND PROUD NEW OWNER OF ONE MILLION DOLLARS IS…

… SETSUNA LEVINE! CONGRATULATIONS SETSUNA! QUEEN OF CRIOS CATH!"

Angelo and Setsuna looked at each other and smiled.

They walked up to meet among the small seats for elimination ceremonies and shook each other's hand.

Then, as Chris and Chef guided all the other former contestants towards the Bonfire Pit…they both collapsed into the sand, eager to finally rest their minds and bodies.

Location: Tine Naofa Bonfire Pit (Coronation Ceremony)

Contestant(s): Setsuna

Present: All Eliminated Contestants

"Setsuna, Queen of Crios Cath!" Chris proclaimed as Setsuna grinned triumphantly. "Allow me to present you with this!"

He held out a medal similar to those handed out on Nialasach. "This is The Medal of Conquest, and it signifies you, its new wearer, as the rightful ruler of Crios Cath! Congratulations!"

The eliminated contestants all cheered as Chris draped the medal around Setsuna's neck.

"And of course…" Chris continued as Chef brought out a briefcase full of money. "Your million dollars. Consider it a starting royal fund!"

"Wow…" Setsuna smiled. "I'll be able to buy so many art supplies…"

"Angelo!" Chris turned to Angelo. "You've played an excellent game dude, but sadly, this is where it ends. Setsuna, Queen of Crios Cath…"

"Has acted." Angelo pointed out with a smile. "It was not words that won her the throne, but her power to act."

*Angelo's Elimination Confessional:

"This has been such an incredible journey and I've cherished every single moment of it. The good and the bad both in equal measure. I wouldn't give this experience for the world, and I can't wait to watch the next seasons and reminisce about my own time on the island. Oh, right, this is an elimination confessional, so I should probably talk about that a bit too. Ahem. Ah, so very close to the crown of a nation other than my own, but any sorrow I might feel is drowned out entirely by pride for my friend and ally! It's been a pleasure to see Setsuna's growth firsthand, and she is more than welcome to come visit me in my own nation whenever she'd like. She's a fellow royal now, after all, hahahahaha!"

End Confessional*

"Setsuna, Queen of Crios Cath and winner of this hectic, barbaric, season!" Chris announced. "Do you have any parting words?"

"As a matter of fact, I was wondering if I might end this season off on a small song I'd like to sing. In honor of this season and the friends I've made along the way."

"Then before we clear out the island for our next two seasons!" Chris announced. "Hud Hynafol: Upright and Hud Hynafol: Reversed….the island is all yours, Queen Setsuna Levine!"

*Setsuna's Final Confessional (A Performance viewed by the entire cast):

Destroyed To Be Built (A parody of "Tomorrow and Tomorrow" from FFXIV)

"For whom weeps Arawn…

His tears on our skin…" Setsuna motions to all the dirt and grime covering the finalists.

"The days of our clans, gone.

Shame buried with sin.

All our stories ache with the weight of tomorrow…

Some Fight…." She looked mostly towards the Cumhachtach and Mealltach players

"Some Fly…" She looked mostly towards the Cyfrwys and Alltud players

"Some Fall…" She looked mostly towards the Shameterranean and Ffydd players.

She then addressed them all at once.

"Stand tall, my friends.

You'll fall but the fighter inside you can rise again.

In time, tumbling, turning, we'll seek amends…

Gamata's winds to the land descend.

Our journeys, they never end."

As an instrumental bridge plays, the contestants all gather up onto the very ship that brought them into Crios Cath in the first place, ready to take them home. Now with a stage and a small band of interns to accompany her, Setsuna is able to continue her song, now seemingly addressing not any contestants, but the audience directly.

"From us who've fallen, to those who'll rise…

A prayer that your dreams can be realized…

An undying promise that all our might…

Carries on, in this song.

So don't forget us, Crios Cath kin.

Through one game's end can a new begin.

And as our ship sails off, on through the wind.

Still our tale lives on!" The ship itself passes over the horizon, and Setsuna's singing continues as the production cameras fly up into the sky, rising.

"Stand tall, my friends!

You'll fall, but that royal inside you will rise again!

This time, tumbling, turning, we make amends…

Gamata's winds from the land ascend!

For they lift us, that we won't end!"

As the musical score settles down, the cameras tilt from their view of a sunny sky down towards the island of Crios Cath, giving the viewers an aerial view of the entire island. Soon, post-production graphics appear.

AN1: Okay we have a lot to get through here so let's start with our final three

Frag: Fun fact, before Eireen and I did our own outline that we've followed very well, I had a small, much less enthusiastic outline, and Frag was actually 3rd out. So congrats to him for pulling a Daniel from Cursed Island and just inverting his placement for his benefit.

In any case, Frag was a wonderful character to write, especially because he ended up on Cumhachtach which was filled with people a lot more athletically inclined than he truly was. On our discord, I remember sharing a few words about Frag that I think I'd like to repeat here, so…

Frag, the Final King of Cumhachtach, a kingdom absent of its subjects as they fought each other rather than their enemies. The vengeful spirit of their First King lingers in the realm below, creating a hell out of purgatory. Meanwhile their Previous King has cheated death and haunts the living, a never-ending reminder of the chaos that tore the mighty clan of strength asunder. That the Final King of a Clan Defeated can still retain his will, his hope, and his convictions, even as the worst of the Stags' history chases him like the Furies... What further proof of worth is needed for the Crown of Strength than His Enduring Strength of Will?

I think this is a very good summary of Frag's story. His game was mired, maybe even guided, by misplays and regrets, but he never once gave into despair over it. He kept trucking, even trying to stay on course with allies he'd accidentally wronged.

Having studied actions throughout the season, Frag receives the title of: Neutral

As much as I love Frag's journey, I'm not sure I'd give him a hero title. He did oppose villainous strategies, but I've always been of the opinion that just opposing villainous strategies has never really been enough for a hero status. And Frag acting as a bit of a lackey for Tiberius early on really doesn't help there. Neither do a few of his bigger blunders throughout the season. I do think he's much closer to Hero than he is to Villain. He's a well intentioned young man, doing his best with what he's given, and to his credit, he never blames his blunders on anyone other than himself. He very much reminds me of Zastin from Zero Sum, so much like Zastin, I feel like the Neutral title suits him best.

Frag's Best Moment: When he lied his ass off to Tiberius during the first merge episode and earned his way out of the Shameterranean by making it seem like he was super powerful and cutthroat.

Angelo: Now we move on to Angelo. Man, I love Angelo. He's definitely one of my favorites out of the whole renaissance, definitely in my Top 10. I really REALLY like his playstyle, because while he is devious and does plan things mostly in regards to how well they benefit him, he likes to play in a way that helps uplift others by default, and in the early game he's really REALLY good at playing second fiddle to a lot of heavy hitters. Angelo was pretty much destined to go far from the get-go, and when Eireen and I realized that it was him and Setsuna in the final two, we were super excited because it meant that two really good stories about recovering from falling and rising to win were the finalists so either victory would feel extremely earned. Of course, it transpired that Setsuna was the overall winner in the end, but Angelo is also a winner in our hearts.

Having studied his actions throughout the season, Angelo receives the title of: Neutral

I do believe that Angelo absolutely has it in him to get the Hero title. This is more of a personal taste thing than anything else so don't let it color your own perspective (don't let anything I say in these notes color your own perspective, but especially here). It's more like I know that he has villainy in him. A lot of the way he treated Jeremy kind of showed that, and while his playstyle does focus on uplifting his allies, he's doing it because it's easier for him to amass social power in the game that way, not necessarily because it's the 'right' or 'good' thing to do. I don't think he's a bad person or anything obviously, but I do think he's ultimately Neutral. I can understand a Hero label for him though. His whole storylines with Rose, with Maggie, him handling his accusation very amicably and managing to reconcile with Axel, and his role in helping Setsuna overcome her own fears, he has a good claim to it. I just think he has enough going against him to keep him at Neutral, if only barely. Again, I can't stress enough that I think a Hero label for him is good and understandable too. I'm just personally of the opinion that's he's more Neutral overall.

Angelo's Best Moment: My favorite all time Angelo moment is when he wins immunity during the merge and then moves everyone to the desert.

It really showcases exactly how he plays the game. His allies will do the best because they're most acquainted to the desert, and because they've lived there, they know where to find food so it's not like he's dooming the other contestants, just making them uncomfortable and therefore giving him an edge. He also chose to put them right next to the Bonfire for the purpose of getting them riled up about eliminations so he could see their targets and alignments more clearly, and it works too!

Setsuna: I'll be honest…when I first started outlining this season, I did not have high hopes for Setsuna at all. She was a character ripped nearly whole cloth from a game I was familiar with and seemingly was submitted mainly in order to fill out the ranks and provide comic relief, and that's fine. I do like the character a lot, I just thought it was only a matter of time before our random voter was voted out, especially when her introductory quote was that she guessed she'd be around for a few episodes.

And then…all of this happened. Mad props to Angelo, Rose, and King, for encouraging Setsuna to start voting for real and not using the box, because it helped us take this clearly comic relief character and flesh her out, let her grow, and become someone people would actually WANT to win the season rather than just a haha lol option.

And the end result is Setsuna pulls off the biggest comeback in Total Drama Renaissance History (maybe even Total Drama History). Her clan is dissolved, she loses her one ally right away when the merge hits, and somehow she manages to claw her way to the FINALS, she re-establishes the Ffydd Clan…and then she CONQUERS CRIOS CATH. Like the rising and falling theme really REALLY works well here, especially because of all the much more overt rising and falling references happening throughout the season as potential decoy arcs. Like, oh, she's such a good winner for this and we had like no idea back when we started outlining. Absolutely deserves it though. She's fought like hell for this.

Having studied her actions throughout the season, Setsuna receives the title of: Neutral

Yeah, all three of the Final 3 are getting a Neutral from me. Crios Cath was a very hero-lite season, and that was both a strength that it made it more intense overall, but also a bit of a weakness, because it means many people are put into both positive and negative arcs, sometimes right next to each other, and so characters that would be heroes or villains on other seasons end up gravitating towards Neutral in this one. Setsuna, however, was not one of those people. Setsuna was always a Neutral, if perhaps Chaotic, player. She mostly kept to herself and her allies, and didn't really go out of her way to attack anyone, or even defend herself really. Her whole journey was one of self-discovery and exercising power responsibly. Morality is so absent from her story, that it doesn't even factor into her speech to Arianna during the F4 challenge. The issue at play there was an inability to reflect and adapt, and Setsuna not wanting to be associated with that kind of person if she had a choice, and of course Setsuna doesn't want to be associated with that kind of person, because that's exactly who Setsuna had to grow out of being in order to make that speech in the first place. So yeah, we have a Neutral winner this season, as far as I'm concerned.

Setsuna's Best Moment: That speech I just mentioned is a really good one. It is the Setsuna defining moment, I think. She lays everything out very plainly and it helps drive home that she really has grown into her own.

And so now that the final 3 have been talked about (*pushes my Final 3 figurines off my desk to join the rest of the Crios Cath figures on the floor*) Let's talk about the season itself as a whole!

First and foremost, like Nialasach was a reflection of Zero Sum, I wanted Crios Cath to be a reflection of Nui Kaua, in that I wanted the season to be the one to lean most heavily into the culture of the island itself. I don't personally think Nui Kaua really lives up to that, mostly because of how new to SYOCs I was at the time and the constant re-writing the Nui Kaua outline needed because of it, but Crios Cath has definitely lived up to it. I've been told numerous times that Crios Cath feels less like a Total Drama fic and more like some kind of ancient epic, which I love because I definitely wanted it to feel like that.

Crios Cath was already an ambitious project without the Shameterranean, but adding it in (and also increasing the cast size to compensate) made the season feel almost larger than life to write. I'm still even now finding it hard to believe that it's actually over and that I can finally write the Hud Hynafol seasons without Crios Cath's shadow looming over me.

This season was, from the beginning, always intended to be a very 'barbaric' season in that everything felt very intense and there wasn't much time to feel comfort for the contestants this season. Originally I'd only managed to Outline up to Frag's elimination, but then Eireen and I did our 'real' outline, and with very VERY minimal changes to the elimination order, we managed to stay true to its events. This makes Crios Cath the season where the Outline was changed the least (So far anyways. The Huds might overtake it).

There was one elimination order change.

Originally, Axel would not bring Tiberius down the Pit of Peril with him, and Tiberius would be part of the Shameterranean shutdown with Jeremy and Michael (and would, via our alphabetical elimination rule, place 6th), but instead he came down too and placed 8th, bumping Jeremy and Michael both up one slot. We figured it didn't really matter that much since they were all eliminated in the same episode anyways so we kept the changed version.

Ahmed, that guy in the cast assessment, was actually originally submitted by decoy73, but he came up with the idea for Bryan as well, and it was just so funny that we allowed it to happen. Bryan might not have managed to last into the merge, but absolutely added a lot of great moments to the Cumhachtach Clan storylines. No, Ahmed is not eligible for any of our planned All-Stars seasons. Bryan is, though I'm not entirely sure he'd be able to get onto any of them at the moment.

During the submission process, barely anyone had a good Spirituality for Ffydd. So if Ffydd felt more like "These guys didn't fit on any of the other clans and also didn't fit on Alltud", than a spiritual clan, that's why. It's because that's exactly what they were. Good job for noticing.

Clan Cumhachtach got its name from the Irish word for "Powerful"

Clan Mealltach got its name from an Irish word meaning "Attractive" but also from Mealldh, which means "Deceit"

Clan Cyfrwys got its name from the Welsh word for "Cunning"

Clan Ffydd got its name from the Welsh word for "Faith"

Clan Alltud got its name from the Welsh word for "Exile"

Setsuna was the winner of the poll for the favorite to win by a mile, and both Angelo and Frag tied for runner up favorite to win! It's nice that everyone seemed happy with all our potential finalists as winners, and nicer that we successfully managed to get people actively rooting for the girl who started as complete comic relief as a real contender. It's very affirming for us as writers!

Now then, that's all the fun facts out of the way, I think. It's time to move on to the super important questions that I always ask at the end of these seasons.

QUESTION 1: WHO WAS THE BIGGEST FEMALE HERO? WHO WAS THE BIGGEST FEMALE VILLAIN?

QUESTION 2: WHO WAS THE BIGGEST MALE HERO? WHO WAS THE BIGGEST MALE VILLAIN?

QUESTION 3: WHO WERE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE PAIRS OF CONTESTANTS TO WATCH INTERACT (ROMANTIC OR OTHERWISE)?

QUESTION 4: WHO WAS YOUR FAVORITE FEMALE PLAYER? WHO WAS YOUR FAVORITE MALE PLAYER?

QUESTION 5: IF YOU COULD AWARD A "PLAYER OF THE SEASON" AWARD, WHO WOULD YOU GIVE IT TO?

QUESTION 6: IF YOU COULD AWARD A "PLAY OF THE SEASON" AWARD, WHO WOULD YOU GIVE IT TO, AND WHAT PLAY WOULD EARN IT?

QUESTION 7: WHO AMONG THIS CAST ARE YOU HOPING TO SEE RETURN FOR ANOTHER CHANCE IN A LATER SEASON?

QUESTION 8: IF YOU, YES YOU, WERE ON CRIOS CATH AND THERE WAS NO COMPETITION, WHICH CLAN WOULD YOU WANT TO LIVE AMONG FOR A WEEK?

QUESTION 9: WHAT WERE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE CHALLENGES THIS SEASON?

QUESTION 10: Hi guys. I'm talking a break from the all caps excitement because this question is a little more on the serious side. I mentioned earlier that I feel like Nui Kaua didn't quite live up to the 'leaning into the culture of the island' part of its story. I still think it's a good story, especially for a novice SYOC writer at the time, just that it fell short of that specific goal. This question is kind of two-fold. The first is if you guys think I managed to do it despite my own personal doubts. The second is, if you, like me, feel like it fell short of that, would you be interested in reading a story that will feel like a Nui Kaua version of Crios Cath? It probably won't be SYOC and will be mostly my own characters, and it would be part of the Reformation serious (in the New Zero Sum 2 universe), not the Renaissance, so it'd be a long time before you saw it, but it's always something that I've had in the back of my mind and I wanted to get your opinion on it. Thank you very much for your time.

EN1: Woohoo! We are at the unfortunate end, but as one door closes, more open! I am so glad we are finally at a completed Crios Cath. It has been a long journey, and according to the author note above, a lot longer than I thought. I'm so glad I was able to convince Doobop to re-outline with me because this is just the best thing either of us have ever made, and to have it in fruition is so satisfying!

Frag: I loved Frag's journey. A confusing one, but he made the merge. We were confused on what to do with him, until we found a good match this season: Carol. I'll leave it up to the creators whether or not they stay together, but they're great. I remember the reveal of Carol and Frag's growing attraction. Everyone thought it would be Jarri for the longest time, but nope! Any who, I'm yapping.

Frag is a Neutral in my eyes.

Fave Frag moment… I liked his conversation with Carol, when she wasn't convinced Angelo was the culprit. Frag realized he was falling for her and he said 'End Confessional' out loud. I really liked that whole bit, and the scene was really sweet.

ANGELO: Why did he place second even though I voted for him in the polls? Because it's not really up to me, but if it was…. it still wouldn't really be up to me. I absolutely love everything about Angelo. I don't think he'd return, but I really want him to. As I think I said in Rose's summary thing, writing their romance was always some of my favorite parts of writing Crios Cath. It's probably why I'm so attached to both characters. I also just love his personality. He's such a good character.

I will give Angelo the status of Hero. Yes, and now I have to explain. Doobop mentioned that it's difficult for heroes to shine in this season, but I think that a character that leads others to do more good things and encourages others can be a hero too. He's a hero in my book as much as teachers are heroes, if you will. He's a flat arc, which, many of you pointed out, is boring in the beginning, but he stuck true to his values during his fall, and continued to have the others around him grow. That's a little crazy considering he exiled himself.

My favorite Angelo moment. Point to one. That's my favorite. If I had to pick…. I would say the scene where he spoke to Rose for the first time. I'm a sucker for romance….

Setsuna: Best girl. Hands down. No one was gonna suspect this, and I am so glad that you all have warmed up to Setsuna as a not troll winner. She has grown into the winner role, and I'm so happy that it was someone who gave up all sights of power, and ended up leading her old clan to a cleanish victory.

Setsuna, to me, is a Neutral. I agree that having a positive arc doesn't necessarily make one a hero. For Rose (in my book) it does, but Setsuna did not do much outside growing herself up. She stuck by Angelo, but she mainly did that because she lacked allies and for a bit. But for some people, Setsuna is a hero. You could have the Kaede argument here. Lots of angles. Setsuna is a neutral to me.

Thank you so so much for reading and enjoying this story! I'll hopefully see you in Qatilat OR in the near future….

AN3: And as always, thanks for reading!
