Full summary: It's Harry's fifth year and it seems like the whole world is against him, luckily he still has Hermione by his side but after she is randomly attacked in Diagon Alley in a death eater raid and the inaction of the authority, Harry realizes something, this country doesn't deserve magic.

So, alongside Hermione they decide to plan their vengeance against this awful society, it's the 'squib-fication project' it's a plan to take the magic out of those whom Harry and Hermione feel don't deserve to have it.

Fifth Year AU: Hogwarts starts later than in canon so in this story Harry and Hermione are eighteen.

Pairing: Harry/Hermione.

Harry was sitting close to a bed in St. Mungo's, his best friend, the one who had never left his side was resting with her eyes closed, she was stable but just a few hours ago Harry was completely desperate because no one knew if she would survive.

This wasn't supposed to happen, Harry, Hermione, and the Weasleys were getting their supplies for the upcoming term at Hogwarts, and the members of the Order of the Phoenix were supposed to keep a watch on them, that's why Hermione and Harry ended up alone in an ice cream parlor.

They were enjoying each other's company, well, Harry felt like he was enjoying Hermione's company the most, after the events of last year when the rest of the world turned their backs on him, Hermione was the only one who never left him.

Now, even though he was still civil towards the people who realized he wasn't a cheater or an attention glory seeker he didn't trust them anymore because it only takes a little for them to turn their backs on him once again, it happened once during his first year when the whole Gryffindor house was mad at him and his friends because they lost so many points.

They were so angry because they wouldn't win a stupid cup and the fact that the school wasn't going to get decorated with the stupid colors of the house for the remainder hours of the term until they took the train back home, and yet, they treated them worse than scum just because they helped a friend.

The second time happened in his second year when everyone thought he was the heir of Salazar Slytherin which is such a stupid idea, the man lived centuries ago, and probably most of the pureblood families are his descendants, the Potters included, he just had the back luck to have the ability to speak to Snakes because of Voldemort's powers that were transferred to him.

"Now that I think about it…If he could transfer his powers, could there be a way to take out the powers of other wizards?" Harry asked Hermione even though he knew she wouldn't answer his question.

Lately, he has been having these crazy ideas about vengeance, however, he has decided to wait until Hermione awakes to tell her what he is planning to do if the government continues being impassive about the 'death eater' problem.

Last year, he was forced to compete in a tournament that was only for one purpose, for him to be teleported away to help resurrect Voldemort and not only he was seen as scum and a cheater after his name came out of the goblet of fire, the whole world turned against him, even normal citizens did the same.

It truly made Harry wonder if it was worth becoming a wizard because life in magical Britain seemed so boring that they cared so much about a school tournament, he knows he's famous but the coverage the tournament got before his name came out was ridiculous, there's so many clout chasers and jobless people out there.

And to make things worse, the whole tournament was nothing but a farce to send him to a graveyard where one of the wizards he hated the most not only killed his fellow Hogwarts champion but also resurrected the wizard who killed Harry's parents, seriously, wormtail was so stupid because Voldemort treated him like shit, and yet he willingly decided to help him.

Either he had Stockholm syndrome or he was attracted to the noseless bastard, either way, he could have lived like a rat in the muggle world, hell, he could have migrated to another continent where Voldemort would have never found him and yet, he still decided to give the fucker his body back, it didn't make sense for Harry, magical people were so stupid.

But the bad things just started there, after the events of the Triwizard tournament, no one wanted to believe him, it seems like the whole ministry portrayed him as persona non grata while he was stuck at the Dursleys, according to them he was a liar and Voldemort hadn't come back, the newspapers said that he made things up and now he and Dumbledore were thought to be crazier than Trelawney.

There was a dementor attack while he was living with the Dursleys, sadly he was in the presence of Duddley and his gang, one part of him wanted to let him die but he couldn't stop himself from casting the patronus charm which marked him as a criminal almost as dangerous as Grindelwald, because it seems like he put the statute of secrecy in danger, luckily Dumbledore managed to save him from getting expelled from Hogwarts and his wand getting snapped.

And just when he thought he would get a normal start to school as he and his friends were picking up their supplies for the upcoming school year, when Hermione and Harry were enjoying their ice cream, and just before Harry wanted to tell Hermione he was in love with her, an attack happened.

Masked Death eaters were attacking Diagon Alley, Harry didn't have time to think, luckily now that he was an adult and he was in Diagon Alley, he didn't have to worry about the statute so, he unleashed his force and killed some of them while also letting scars in a lot of them.

However, they weren't going to leave him alone just like that because out of nowhere, he recognized the voice of Lucius Malfoy calling Hermione a mud-blood before hitting her with the curse that literally made Hermione's blood boil, it was a slow torture for her and Harry would have given up everything he has just to spare her from the pain she was suffering.

However, the only thing he could think of was avenging her, so, before Lucius could apparate away, he cast a cutting curse that Harry was sure would have beheaded the vile older wizard, however, a small movement caused him to only get a noticeable and threatening scratch on his neck, so, Harry knew that if he didn't die, at least he's going to be in a lot of pain.

After that the order decided to appear and soon, they took Hermione to St. Mungo's while Harry was interrogated luckily his statements were proved as right so he went back to the hospital as soon as he could and after so many hours, the healers said that she was stable, and now that she was opening her eyes slowly it was past midnight.

"H-Harry…" Hermione said in a weak tone.

"It's fine Mione, I'm here," Harry said slowly before he told the order member who was watching behind the door to call for a healer.

Soon, a woman with dark curly hair entered the room with a stern look that quickly caused Harry to move so she could do her job, Harry saw the older healer's name.

"Andromeda Tonks," Harry said with a calm tone.

"Yep, that's me," the healer voiced out before she started to light Hermione's eyes with her wand.

She was basically doing what a doctor in the muggle world would do, or at least that's what Harry thought was an experience with a doctor as he never visited one before, his relatives didn't think it was a good idea to take him to the doctor and considering his magic always healed him, in the end they were right.

"Yes, she's going to be fine, she's slowly recovering her normal pale color, she was as white as flour when she arrived," the healer told them.

To say that Harry was relieved would be an understatement, it didn't take too long for him to rest his back in one wall as he released a relieving sigh.

"What happened?" Now Hermione asked, she hated being in the dark, she didn't remember a thing about what happened almost half a day ago.

"You were hit with a blood-boiling curse my dear, I'm glad you were brought here as fast as they did, that thing makes you suffer for some minutes until the moment the blood finally disappears, it's a boiling charm after all, and if you apply that to a fluid then…Well, most of the time the result is the same," the older witch said with a sad tone.

"Andy...Dumbledore's here, he wants to share some words with you," Kingsley, the order member in charge of Harry and Hermione's security said and the older healer sighed a bit annoyed.

She shared a sad smile with them and soon, she left the room leaving the two young adults alone.

"Oh Hermione…I was so scared, I thought that I was going to lose you!" Harry suddenly collapsed on the floor while he held the brown-haired witch's hand.

"Well, at least after that the people are going to believe you and Dumbledore, right?" she asked with a sad smile that broke Harry's heart.

"I hope so Mione…I hope at least people now realize the threat of those bastards, however, if they don't…I'm going to start to act, I'm going to make them pay, the moment they've decided to put a hand on you they've sealed their fates," Harry said with a tone that made Hermione worry.

What was her friend talking about? Was he going dark just like Dumbledore was suspecting? She needed to make sure Harry didn't let his anger do something that he might regret for the rest of his life.
