Chapter 11

Minato stood atop the Hokage's office, his cloak billowing in the wind. Around him, enemy shinobi clashed with Konoha's defenders.

Tsunade slammed a masked attacker into the ground with monstrous strength. "They're getting bolder!"

Jiraiya flipped through hand seals. "Katon: Toad Oil Flame Bullet!"

A wave of fire erupted, consuming several enemies in an instant. But more kept coming.

Minato's gaze was sharp. "They're after something."

Tsunade scoffed. "Isn't it obvious? They want you dead."

Minato frowned. "No… It's not just me." His eyes flickered toward the Uzumaki district. "It's Kushina and Moe too."

Jiraiya's expression darkened. "So they know."

Before they could discuss further—

A massive shadow loomed over them.

A monstrous figure descended from the sky—a summon.

A colossal snake, its scales dark as night, lunged toward the Hokage's tower.

Minato vanished in a flash. "Flying Raijin—Level Two!"

In the next second, the snake's massive body collapsed—Minato had severed its head with a single kunai strike.

But as its corpse hit the ground, more enemies surged forward.

The battle was only beginning.

Kushina's breath was steady as she stood guard outside their home, kunai in hand. Moe stood behind her, his small hands clenched into fists.

Moe was scared. But he didn't want to be scared.

Kushina smiled down at him. "Hey, squirt. Remember what I told you?"

Moe swallowed hard. "That you'll protect me?"

She ruffled his hair. "Damn right. No one's taking you away."

Before he could answer—

A masked figure appeared before them.

Kushina immediately launched her chains. "Not today."

Golden chains shot forward, but the enemy dodged—only to be intercepted by a blur of green.

THWACK!

Might Guy landed a powerful kick, sending the enemy flying.

He turned to Kushina. "I told you I'd protect him, didn't I?"

Kushina smirked.

Naruto, Sasuke, and the others landed beside them.

Naruto's eyes burned with fury. "Kaa-chan! Are you okay?!"

Kushina nodded. "Yeah. But something tells me this isn't over."

Moe clung to her. "Mommy… I wanna fight too."

Kushina looked at him, eyes softening. He was so young. But there was fire in his eyes—just like Naruto's.

She knelt. "Not yet, squirt. You need to get stronger first."

Moe frowned. "But—"

Naruto grinned and crouched beside them. "Tell you what. When this is over, I'll train you myself. Deal?"

Moe's eyes sparkled. "Really?!"

Kushina sighed. "Oh boy."

Before they could continue—

Sasuke's Sharingan flared. "We've got incoming."

From the rooftops, a dozen more enemies approached.

Might Guy cracked his knuckles. "Time for the real fight."

Naruto smirked. "Bring it on."

As the battle raged, the village burned around them.

Minato and the Sannin led the Hokage's defense.

Naruto, Sasuke, and Team 7 protected the Uzumaki district.

Moe watched it all, determination growing in his heart.

One day, he would fight too.

And when that day came—

He'd make his family proud.

The air was thick with smoke and the metallic scent of blood. The streets of Konoha were overrun with masked shinobi, remnants of the enemy's forces still fighting despite losing their advantage. Team 7, Might Guy, and Kushina held their ground, but the battle was far from over.

Moe clung to Kushina's dress, his small fingers trembling. He wasn't sure if it was from fear or frustration.

"I wanna help…" he whispered.

Kushina glanced down at him, her fierce eyes softening for just a moment. She cupped his cheek. "You are helping, squirt. By staying safe."

Moe bit his lip, feeling the weight of those words.

Naruto, standing beside them, cracked his knuckles. "Alright, let's clean up this mess."

Sasuke activated his Sharingan. "Let's do this quickly."

Might Guy grinned. "Time for youthful combat!"

Two enemy shinobi lunged at Naruto, their kunai aimed straight for his chest.

Naruto smirked and formed a single hand seal. "Kage Bunshin no Jutsu!"

Three clones appeared instantly, intercepting the attackers. The real Naruto flipped over them, delivering a spinning kick to one enemy's face.

Sasuke, meanwhile, wasted no time. His Sharingan followed every movement of his opponent.

Chidori!

Lightning crackled in his palm as he dashed forward, piercing straight through an enemy's chest.

Sakura, from a distance, punched the ground, causing it to crack and send two enemies flying.

Neji and Tenten covered their flanks, fending off anyone who got too close.

The battle was fierce, but they were holding their ground.

Moe's Hidden Strength

Moe's hands clenched into fists. He watched his family fight, watched as Naruto and Sasuke defended the village.

Then, out of the corner of his eye, he saw something—

A masked shinobi sneaking behind Kushina.

His heart pounded.

Without thinking, he moved.

The enemy lunged with a kunai—

But Moe reacted.

His small hands formed a sphere of swirling chakra—

Rasengan!

He thrust it forward, the unstable blue energy slamming into the enemy's chest, sending them flying backward.

Silence followed.

Everyone turned to see Moe standing there, his hands still glowing with residual chakra.

Kushina's eyes widened. "Moe—"

Moe panted, looking up at her nervously. "…I did it?"

Naruto burst out laughing. "Hah! That was awesome!"

Kushina, however, wasn't laughing. She grabbed Moe by the shoulders, kneeling in front of him.

Naruto patted Moe's head. "Kid's got talent!"

Moe beamed. "Does this mean I can fight now?"

Kushina crossed her arms. "Absolutely not."

Moe pouted. "But—"

She pulled him into a tight hug. "You scared me, you little squirt."

Moe blinked, then snuggled into her. "…Sorry, Mommy."

That one word made Kushina's heart melt.

But there was no time to rest.

From the rooftops, a enemy approached.

Tobi.

Naruto's breath caught. "You again…"

Tobi chuckled. "I was hoping to end things quickly, but I see you're still full of surprises."

Minato flashed into existence beside Naruto, his kunai in hand.

"Tobi." His voice was calm, but deadly.

Tobi tilted his head. "Hokage. You're a persistent one."

Minato's gaze darkened. "Leave. Now."

Tobi sighed. "Unfortunately, I can't do that."

And with that, he attacked.

Lightning-fast, he phased in and out of existence, his attacks unpredictable. But Minato was just as fast, dodging and countering with precision.

The others watched, unable to intervene.

Naruto clenched his fists. "We have to do something."

Moe tugged on Kushina's sleeve. "Mommy…"

She looked down at him, heart aching.

This wasn't over.

And they would fight together—

As a family.

Minato clashed with Tobi in a blur of speed, their battle unfolding like a dance of death. But while the Hokage held his own, the masked enemy's unnatural phasing abilities made him dangerous.

On the streets below, Naruto, Sasuke, and the rest of Team 7 fought off the remaining invaders. But as the battle raged, reinforcements arrived—

A streak of silver flashed through the air.

Kakashi.

His Raikiri cut through an enemy, sending them to the ground with a lifeless thud.

He landed beside Naruto, his Sharingan already spinning. "You guys okay?"

Naruto grinned. "We're great—just another day saving Konoha!"

Obito landed next, his kunai dripping with blood. "We'd be better if we actually finished this fight."

A voice scoffed behind them. "Agreed."

Rin.

She stood atop a nearby building, medical pouch at her side, prepared to heal—but that didn't mean she wouldn't fight if she had to.

Naruto pointed toward the ongoing battle. "Tobi's the big problem now!"

Kakashi narrowed his eye. "Then let's end this."

Across the battlefield, two other legends moved.

Jiraiya dodged a flurry of kunai, slamming his foot into an enemy's chest and sending them flying. He quickly formed a hand seal.

"Katon: Endan!"

A fireball erupted from his mouth, incinerating several masked enemies at once.

Tsunade, on the other hand, didn't bother with jutsu.

She simply punched the ground.

The shockwave sent enemy shinobi flying, and those unlucky enough to be caught in her range found their bones shattered on impact.

"You call this an invasion?" she scoffed. "I expected more of a challenge!"

Jiraiya smirked. "I'd say don't jinx it, but we've already got Tobi to deal with."

Tsunade cracked her knuckles. "Then let's go break him."

High above the battlefield, Minato flashed through Tobi's attacks, his speed unmatched.

But Tobi smirked beneath his mask. "I've improved since last time, Hokage."

Minato barely had time to react as chains shot from Tobi's sleeve, laced with chakra suppressing seals. They wrapped around Minato's wrist, threatening to lock him in place.

But before Tobi could capitalize—

A golden chain snapped the bindings.

Minato landed gracefully, glancing back.

Kushina stood there, her Adamantine Chains glowing with power, Moe clinging to her leg.

She smirked. "You didn't think I'd let you have all the fun, did you?"

Minato let out a breathless chuckle. "Wouldn't dream of it."

Tobi tilted his head. "…So the Uzumaki lives. No matter."

He turned intangible again, preparing his next strike—

But suddenly—

Kakashi was there.

His Raikiri thrust forward, phasing through Tobi's body.

But that wasn't the attack's purpose.

Obito, mirroring the movement from the other side, launched a kunai coated with sealing tags—

And the instant Tobi solidified—

The seal activated.

"NOW!" Kakashi yelled.

Minato vanished in a yellow flash—

SLASH!

Blood splattered the ground.

Tobi staggered, clutching his side. Minato's kunai had struck true.

For the first time in a long time… Tobi was injured.

His body flickered, unstable. "This… isn't over."

Then, just like that—

He disappeared.

The battle was won.

The Aftermath

The streets of Konoha were quiet once more. Smoke still lingered in the air, and shinobi moved quickly to secure any lingering enemies.

Naruto flopped onto the ground. "That was insane!"

Sasuke crossed his arms. "We won, though."

Might Guy wiped his forehead. "A youthful victory, indeed!"

Moe, still holding onto Kushina's hand, looked up at her. "…Did I do okay, Mommy?"

Kushina smiled, kneeling down to cup his cheek. "You did better than okay, squirt."

Moe beamed.

Minato looked over at his family, relief washing over him.

Then he turned to Kakashi, Rin, and Obito. "…Thank you."

Kakashi waved him off. "Just doing our job."

Rin smiled. "We're all in this together."

Obito scoffed. "Yeah."

The battle was over. The fires had been extinguished. The streets of Konoha, once filled with the sounds of clashing steel and desperate cries, were now eerily quiet. Shinobi moved through the wreckage, tending to the wounded and repairing the damage left behind.

But for Kushina, none of that mattered at the moment.

She sat on the porch of their home, her arms wrapped around Moe, who was curled up in her lap. His small fingers clung to her sleeve, his face buried against her chest.

He hadn't let go of her since they got home.

Minato stood a few feet away, watching them with a soft smile. He understood. After everything that had happened—after seeing his mother fight, after nearly losing her—Moe wasn't ready to let go just yet.

And truthfully, Kushina didn't want to let go either.

"Mommy?" Moe's voice was quiet, muffled against her clothes.

She stroked his black hair gently. "What is it, squirt?"

Moe sniffled a little, shifting so he could look up at her. His big, dark eyes were filled with something deep—something heavy for a child his age.

"…I love you."

Kushina's breath hitched. She felt those words sink deep into her heart, wrapping around it in a way that made her chest tighten.

"I love you a lot," Moe continued. His voice wavered, but he kept going. "More than anything. I don't ever wanna lose you. Ever."

Kushina swallowed the lump in her throat. She had always known he loved her—he had been attached to her from the moment she and Minato adopted him. But hearing him say it so clearly, so sincerely…

It nearly broke her.

"Oh, squirt…" Her arms tightened around him, holding him as close as possible. She kissed the top of his head, her voice thick with emotion. "I love you too. So, so much."

Moe clung to her even tighter, as if trying to melt into her embrace. "Promise you won't leave?"

Kushina smiled, her heart aching. She pulled back just enough to cup his face, her thumbs gently wiping away the tears he didn't even realize had started to fall.

"I promise, Moe," she whispered. "I'm not going anywhere. I'm your mom, and nothing's gonna change that."

Moe sniffled again, his little body relaxing in her hold.

Minato walked over, kneeling beside them. He placed a gentle hand on Moe's back. "You know, you've got us both," he reminded him. "Me and Mommy. No matter what."

Moe turned, looking at him, then hesitated before throwing his arms around Minato as well. Minato chuckled, hugging him back.

Kushina grinned, resting her chin on Moe's head. "Our little squirt is getting way too sappy."

Moe pouted. "Am not."

Minato laughed. "It's okay. We like sappy."

Kushina smirked. "Yeah, but let's not tell Naruto. He'll never let you live it down."

Moe groaned. "Oh no…"

Minato chuckled, pulling them both into another hug. "We're family. And we'll always be together."

Kushina nodded, pressing another kiss to Moe's forehead. "Always."

And for the first time in a long time, Moe felt completely, undeniably safe.

Meanwhile…

Outside the Uzumaki-Namikaze home, Kakashi, Rin, and Obito stood at a distance, watching through the window.

Rin smiled. "That's a beautiful family."

Obito crossed his arms. "Hard to believe Minato-sensei ended up as a total softie."

Kakashi chuckled. "I think he always had it in him."

Rin looked at Kakashi, her gaze thoughtful. "You know… I think we'll have a family like that someday."

Kakashi's breath caught. He turned, staring at her, but she only smiled—like she had just stated a fact.

Obito snorted. "You guys better figure that out after we finish training our genin."

Rin giggled. "Of course."

Kakashi shook his head, a rare smile tugging at his lips.

Some things in life were uncertain.

But one thing was clear—

The future was still theirs to write.

The morning light poured into the Uzumaki-Namikaze household, casting a warm glow over the family still nestled together on the couch. Moe had refused to let go of Kushina the night before, and in the end, she had simply held him close, stroking his hair until he drifted off.

Now, as she blinked awake, she found her little squirt still curled against her, breathing softly.

Minato sat nearby, already awake, a fond smile on his face as he sipped his tea. "Good morning, sleepyhead."

Kushina stretched, careful not to disturb Moe. "Mmm. Morning…" She glanced down at the sleeping boy and smiled. "Still holding on, huh?"

Minato chuckled. "I don't think he's letting go anytime soon."

Kushina sighed dramatically. "Guess I'm stuck with this little guy forever."

Moe stirred, blinking drowsily. "Mmm… Mommy?"

She ruffled his hair. "Morning, squirt."

Moe snuggled closer. "Not getting up."

Minato laughed. "That's fine, but Naruto and his team have training today. You don't wanna miss sending them off, do you?"

Moe hesitated, then reluctantly sat up. "Fine… but only if Mommy makes breakfast."

Kushina grinned. "You drive a hard bargain, kid. Alright, let's go."

The training fields were already buzzing with activity when Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura arrived. Kakashi stood waiting for them, flipping lazily through his book as usual.

But today, he wasn't alone.

Rin stood beside him, arms crossed, smiling knowingly.

"Alright, listen up," Kakashi said, finally putting his book away. "Today's mission is a simple reconnaissance task outside the village."

Naruto groaned. "Come on! When do we get a real mission?"

Obito suddenly dropped down from a nearby tree, smirking. "What, babysitting bridge builders wasn't enough of an adventure for you?"

Sasuke scoffed. "That was months ago."

Kakashi ignored their complaints. "You'll be paired with Guy's team for this one."

As if on cue, Might Guy appeared in a flash of movement, striking a dramatic pose. "Ah, my youthful students! Today is another day for hard work and perseverance!"

Lee pumped his fists. "YOSH! I won't lose to Naruto-kun today!"

Neji remained calm, though his sharp eyes flickered with curiosity. "A joint mission… interesting."

Tenten simply sighed. "As long as no one gets into an unnecessary competition."

Naruto and Lee exchanged determined glances.

"Oh boy," Sakura muttered.

From the sidelines, Moe stood beside Kushina, watching eagerly.

Kushina ruffled his hair. "One day, squirt. You'll be out there with them."

Elsewhere in Konoha

Deep in the Hokage's office, Minato sat with Jiraiya and Tsunade, reviewing the fallout from the recent attack.

"Tobi is still out there," Minato muttered. "Wounded, but not defeated."

Jiraiya nodded. "And if he's still a threat, that means Madara's plan isn't finished yet."

Tsunade crossed her arms. "Then we need to be ready. No more underestimating what's coming."

Minato exhaled. His village was safe—for now.

But the storm wasn't over yet.

And this time, they wouldn't be caught off guard.
