The group left, starting their journey. Raunch rode the Flying Nimbus. Terror and Panic wanted to use their motorcycle. The idea failed fast. Goku, Raditz, Nappa, and Vegeta ran. They climbed and jumped, training as they traveled. They reached a small city. A market buzzed with people. Students in martial arts outfits ganged up on a kid. Goku frowned. "Why are you attacking him?" he asked.

The biggest student sneered. "He's a thief. He stole my wallet."

The kid cried, "I didn't steal anything!"

Raditz pointed. "Isn't that your wallet?" A wallet lay on the ground.

The kid yelled, "I was just telling him he dropped it!"

The father of the kid stepped forward. He looked like a skilled fighter. Tension hung in the air. Vegeta saw the truth. "This isn't about a wallet," he said. "It's a setup."

"Exactly," Vegeta mused. "These bullies want to anger their rivals." He explained. The city was buzzing about a martial arts contest. It was called the Royal Duel Tournament. Ads were all over. The king had forbidden fights outside the ring. Penalties were harsh.

"They want the other dojo to break the rules," Nappa observed.

"Then their rivals can't enter the tournament," Goku finished. The kid was the rival dojo master's son. The bullies aimed to provoke him. One slip-up would disqualify the whole dojo. The tournament promised glory. The prize was said to be an audience with the king himself. The stakes were high, and the tension was palpable.

The father knelt, concern etched on his face. "Tell me everything," he urged his son. At the bully's feet lay a discarded wallet. Shao Long, the bully, smirked cruelly. "The coward's dojo teaches avoidance well," he taunted. "You weaklings can't beat Panther Fang in the tournament."

A calm voice cut through the tension. A young man stepped forward. He bowed slightly toward the coughing boy. "My deepest apologies for my brother's behavior," he said sincerely. "He's too eager for the tournament. I hope you recover and compete. I look forward to fighting you."

Master Shin, the boy's father, nodded slowly. "I will compete," he affirmed. He felt the lingering effects of the attack. "But we must be excused," he requested. Goku and Vegeta moved instantly to help Master Shin to his feet. Nappa and Raditz glared at the Panther Fang members. They ensured no further attacks occurred.

Terror and Panic, two onlookers, exchanged uneasy glances. Panther Fang's actions mirrored their own past behavior. Shame flickered in their eyes. Master Shin sighed, explaining the tournament's importance. "The Royal Duel Tournament tests each dojo," he said. "The winner earns the title of master, a highly respected position."

Shao Long, the raging one, craved that respect. Ten Long, his composed brother, wanted it too. Master Shin's Chin Star dojo had suffered greatly. Rumors and perceived weakness had driven away all his students. Victory would restore his honor. He could attract new students and buy needed medicine.

Vegeta raised an eyebrow. "Must you fight yourself?" he asked. "Or can a student fight for you?" Master Shin explained the rule. A win by any member of the dojo grants the title to its master. The leader is then worthy to receive the benefits.

The air hung heavy with unspoken tension. Terror and Panic, hulking figures, sneered. Their presence reeked of menace. Goku stepped forward, his gaze unwavering. "It's simple," he said, his voice clear. "They want to fight. I'll fight for you." He gestured to his companions. "My friends can fight too." A wide grin split his face. "We're training for the World Martial Arts Tournament. This is perfect practice!" He paused, a thoughtful look crossing his features. "An old woman mentioned you, Master Shin. She said you're the strongest around." Goku's eyes shone with excitement. "We'd love to learn from you." He tilted his head, his expression hardening slightly. "Shao and Ten seem awfully comfortable bullying you."

Shin's eyes widened at Goku's words. He bowed his head slightly. "Thank you," he said, his voice laced with humility. "Your praise is undeserved." He sighed, a shadow crossing his face. "I was once strong. But my ailment has taken its toll." Doubt gnawed at him. Whispers followed him now. "Is Master Shin truly strong?" they wondered.

Suddenly, a voice broke the silence. "That's a lie!" It was Shin's son, his face flushed with indignation. He glared at Goku and his friends. "They're just kids! I'm a kid, and I can't fight." He scoffed. "Kids in the World Martial Arts Tournament? Ridiculous!"

Shin frowned at his son's outburst. He turned to Goku, his curiosity piqued. "Who is your master?" he asked, his voice calm.

Goku beamed. "Master Roshi!" he declared, his voice full of pride.

Recognition dawned in Shin's eyes. "Master Roshi," he murmured. "The Turtle Hermit." He knew the legend. The Turtle School was famous. Shin began to wonder about these eager fighters. Maybe his son was wrong. Maybe these weren't just kids.

Shin paused, his eyes locking with Goku's eager gaze. "I would be honored," he finally said. A wave of gratitude washed over him. "And grateful to Master Roshi for allowing his students to aid us in this desperate time." He studied Goku, sensing the Saiyan's raw power and untamed potential. "Goku, you seem ready to grasp the essence of my dojo's technique: the Phantom Star."

He gestured towards the center of the training room. "It's a technique built on speed. You move so fast, you leave phantom images—mirages that confuse your opponent." Shin hoped to train the others if they were capable.

Goku grinned, bouncing on the balls of his feet. "Like the After Image Technique, right?" He zipped across the room, leaving a trail of faint afterimages lingering in the air. "Master Roshi taught me that!"

Shin nodded, impressed by Goku's quick demonstration. "They share similarities. But the After Image Technique is mostly defensive. A way to dodge and evade." He crossed his arms, his expression turning serious. "The Phantom Star is offensive. It uses those mirages to disorient, to create openings for attack. It's about striking with speed and precision."

Shin saw an opportunity. "Imagine your opponent surrounded by five, ten, a dozen copies of you!" he exclaimed, his eyes shining with excitement. "Which one is the real Goku? Which one will strike?"

Goku's eyes widened, picturing the possibilities. The Phantom Star could take his skills to the next level. A grin spread across his face. "Awesome!" he said. "I'm ready to learn!"

Vegeta moved in close, his gaze intense on the boy. "We may look young, but we are seventeen," he stated, his voice low. "Why do we look so young? Saiyans age differently." He scoffed a hint of anger in his tone. "Did you think we were just humans? Like you?" He gestured to his tail, which swayed slightly. "Did our tails look like mere belts to you?"

He stood tall, pride radiating from him. "I am Prince Vegeta of the Saiyan race." He gestured to his companions. "These three and I are Saiyans. We hail from Planet Salada, now destroyed." He hardened his gaze. "Don't force your human ways on us. We won't force ours on you. Understand, Shouta?"

Shouta's eyes widened. How did he know his name? What else did this strange boy know? "How..." he started.

Vegeta smirked, cutting him off. "I know about the laxatives." Shouta gasped. "You plan to ruin our meals before the tournament." His smirk turned into a scowl. "You think some simple trick will stop us?" He stepped closer, his eyes blazing. "We won't quit for such pathetic tactics."

He paused, letting his words sink in. "Think about what happens if you lose to Panther Fang Dojo." He watched Shouta's face. "Shin will never get new students. He will never earn enough to cure his ailment. Is that what you want? For your father to suffer and die?" Vegeta shook his head, a hint of disgust in his eyes. "How could you be so selfish?"

Shouta's face fell, his earlier confidence gone. Vegeta's words hit their mark, his underhanded plan exposed. The weight of his actions crashed down on him. The tournament was not just about winning, but about his father's life.

Raditz, hearing Vegeta's sharp words, softened his tone. He turned towards Shouta, his expression earnest. "Shouta," he began, "we aren't trying to belittle you." He paused, searching for the right words. "We aren't saying you can't become strong. This is about helping your father, truly. Nothing more."

Vegeta scoffed, but Raditz ignored him. He continued, "We seek no reward, no recognition. This is a good deed, plain and simple. Why would you think we'd harm you, your family, or your home? We understand loss, maybe better than you know." Images of Planet Vegeta's destruction flashed in his mind. "We know how it feels to lose everything, to watch your world crumble. We don't want that for you."

He gestured gently. "It's simple as this: you can't enter this tournament. But there will be others, many more. Why not train with us while we're here? Become stronger. Then you can enter those future tournaments." He smiled encouragingly. "You'll make your father and your dojo proud. Not just because you own it, but because of your hard work."

Shouta still seemed hesitant, his brow furrowed in thought.

Suddenly, Panic's voice cut through the air. "Where has Raunch been this whole time?"

As if on cue, they heard the kitchen door swing open. Raunch strolled in, wiping her hands on a dishtowel. "In the kitchen, making dinner," she announced. "I went to buy the groceries."

She eyed the Saiyans with amusement. "You Saiyans ignore everything when a fight starts. I get it. So, I decided to cook while you dealt with those Panther Fang Dojo bullies." She shrugged. "Someone had to make sure we ate tonight." Her casual demeanor diffused some of the tension. The smell of cooking food began to waft from the kitchen, a comforting aroma that filled the dojo.

The next day, training started. Goku mastered the Phantom Star move instantly, just by watching it once. Vegeta, Raditz, and Nappa struggled longer. Terror and Pain practiced basic moves, helping Shouta with the initial skills. Raditz kept his word. He showed Shouta better workouts. He taught him how to get faster and stronger. Raditz said it would take effort and time. Raunch surprisingly learned the fighting style quickly. After three days, she was creating afterimages. The tournament was next Friday. The King wanted to give Shin a fair chance.

The next day Shin coughed hard during training. The training stopped early. Shouta offered to get more medicine. Shin refused. Shao and his brother would start a fight. If Shouta fought, the Chin Star Dojo would be disqualified. Goku stood and volunteered to get the medicine. He promised not to fight. Shin then suggested Shouta show Goku where to buy the medicine. Shouta agreed. That was the plan.

Vegeta scoffed at Goku's quick learning. "Show off," he muttered. Nappa chuckled, "He always was a prodigy." Raditz ignored them. He focused on Shouta's stance. "Keep your weight balanced," he instructed. Terror and Pain demonstrated a basic block. "Feel the force," Terror said. "Redirect it," Pain added. Shouta struggled, sweating. "This is harder than it looks," he thought.

Raunch zipped around, leaving blurry trails. "Am I fast enough?" she asked. Raditz nodded. "You are a natural," he said. Shin watched, his face pale. He felt a wave of nausea. He tried to hide his cough. He did not want to worry Shouta. "I will be fine," he told himself. He knew his condition was worsening.

Later, Shouta paced anxiously. "I have to get the medicine," he said. Shin gripped his arm. "No, it is too risky," he pleaded. "Shao is waiting for an excuse." Goku stepped forward. "I will go," he repeated. "I promise not to fight." Shouta looked at Goku doubtfully. "Can I trust you?" he wondered.

Goku met Shouta's gaze. "I give my word," he said. Shin sighed. "Then take Shouta with you," he relented. "He knows where to go, and Shao won't dare start anything with me around." Shouta nodded. "Okay, let's go," he said, a mix of worry and determination in his voice. He hoped this trip would not end in disaster.

Goku and Shouta found the medicine easily. It was a small, cheap bottle. Goku wondered why Shin struggled so much. Why not buy more? Then they saw Shao. He was the reason. They kept Shin weak on purpose. Shao tried to provoke Shin, but he refused to fight. He took the punches and kicks. He didn't block. He just walked on, enduring Shao's strikes.

They arrived at the dojo. Shouta looked confused. "Why let him hurt you?" he asked. "Why not defend yourself?"

Goku simply said, "I made a promise." Goku never broke his word.

Vegeta scoffed. "That's dumb." Shao made him stronger. Saiyans get stronger after recovering. Plus, he has Senzu beans. They heal instantly.

Goku's eyes widened. Why didn't he think of it? A Senzu bean could cure Shin. He grabbed one and gave it to Shin.

"What's this?" Shin asked, surprised.

"A Senzu bean," Goku said.

Shin was grateful. He knew how rare they were. He ate it quickly. "Thank you," he said, feeling the bean's power surge through him. "This could turn the tide." He was ready to face Shao once again, renewed and stronger than before, thanks to Goku's quick thinking. The tide of battle might be about to change for the better.

Friday arrived, the day of the big competition. Panther Fang Dojo stood facing Chin Star Dojo. A collective gasp went through the Panther Fang team. Chin Star had matched their number of fighters. Shao smirked, seeing Goku and Vegeta. "Looks like the old man found some muscle," Shao sneered. They did not know what awaited them.

Earlier, Shao had seen Goku leaving to buy medicine for Master Shin. He gathered his cronies. They cornered Goku in a narrow alley. "Think you can waltz in here and steal our glory?" Shao taunted. Goku sighed, "I don't have time for this." A fierce brawl erupted, fists flying. Goku held his own but knew he had to finish quickly. He needed that medicine for Master Shin.

Back at the dojo, the matches began. One by one, Chin Star fighters dominated. Terror and Panic cheered wildly. They never felt this kind of excitement at Panther Fang. Soon, only one match remained. Ten Long, the self-proclaimed Wind Dragon, against Goku. If Ten Long lost, Panther Fang would suffer total defeat.

Ten Long strutted into the ring, a cocky grin on his face. Goku simply bowed, his eyes focused. "I'll make this quick," Goku stated calmly. Ten Long lunged forward, a whirlwind of kicks. Goku vanished, leaving after-images in his wake. Ten Long spun, confused. Where was the real Goku? Suddenly, a blinding flash. Goku's Phantom Star technique struck Ten Long. He flew out of the ring like a rag doll. The crowd roared. Chin Star Dojo had won!

Terror and Panic jumped up and down, yelling. They felt like they truly belonged. Chin Star Dojo was more than just a training place. It was a home, a family. Master Shin smiled, his eyes twinkling. The King approached Shin, kneeling before him. He placed a hand on Shin's shoulder. "I declare you Master of Martial Arts," the King announced.

Terror and Panic made their decision instantly. "We want to stay with Chin Star Dojo!" Terror exclaimed. "We want to learn from Master Shin!" Panic added. Goku smiled, understanding in his eyes. "I'm glad you've found a place where you belong," he said kindly. He knew they would thrive here, surrounded by friendship and respect.

With their training progressing smoothly, Goku, Vegeta, Nappa, Raditz, and Raunch continued their journey. Travel had become almost too easy for the Saiyans. To add some challenge and amusement, they started giving each other piggyback rides. Nappa initially protested. He worried his massive weight might injure the others. But Goku and Vegeta easily bore his weight, proving his concerns unfounded. Raunch, ever practical, took charge of the group's meals. She efficiently butchered the animals the Saiyans hunted. This ensured they all had enough to eat during their travels.

Given that they were all Saiyans with immense appetites, except for Raunch, this meant she was constantly cooking. She had mastered cooking in huge quantities. Raditz, meanwhile, kept flirting with Raunch. His constant advances annoyed both Vegeta and Goku. They likened him to Zanji from One Piece. Raditz reminded them of a character who relentlessly pursued every pretty girl he met. "I am nothing like that creep," Raditz retorted, overhearing their comparison. "I only act this way with Raunch, which shows how serious I am."

Their journey took an unexpected turn. They found a young man trapped in a ditch. He was clearly trying to escape something awful. He explained he was from a village near a "cursed castle." The princess had been kidnapped. Demons attacked his village every night. He wasn't running away, he said. He was searching for help to defend his people from the demonic onslaught. He begged them to assist his village. Despair filled his voice. "Please," he pleaded. "You are the only ones strong enough to help us. Our village will fall if you don't."

Vegeta scowled. Helping humans was pointless. No benefit existed. Pure waste. He was ready to ditch Goku and Raditz till Goku spoke. These demons might pack a punch. A good fight could be worth it. They might even struggle against them. A worthy foe tempted him. Goku added that the village might have food. Raunch was low on supplies. Vegeta's stomach rumbled. Fine, he'd tag along. Goku, ever the clueless clown, charged ahead. He bellowed greetings, holding a massive tree like a twig. "We mean no harm!" Villagers whispered, terrified. Goku triggered hidden traps. Spears shot out. Pits opened. Rocks rained down. They threw everything but the sink. Vegeta and Raditz blasted the traps. Kicks shattered doors. Punches broke windows. Goku lifted a huge boulder. "We offered help, but you are rude. I can be rude too. I can end this village now." An old man ran out, arms waving. "No! Stop! We meant no harm. The traps are for demons. They attack often. Please, come to my house. I'll explain everything." His voice shook with fear. Vegeta smirked. This might be interesting after all.

The elder's voice cracked as he spoke. Demons attacked their village at least once a week. They raided homes for food and anything edible. Much of their village was left in ruins. "That's why we set those traps," he said, his eyes filled with worry. "The next attack grows closer each day."

These attacks began after a tragedy. The king's daughter was kidnapped by a demon. This demon was stronger than any knight. It dragged her into the demon world. Vegeta frowned, "How is this even possible?"

The elder sighed. "There's a portal." He explained the portal allowed passage to the demon world. It also let demons into their world. Normally, it stayed closed. But since the princess vanished, it remained open. A demon jammed his sword in the gate. It kept the door ajar.

"Reaching that portal won't be easy." The elder cautioned. "You need the king's permission." He paused, a glimmer of hope in his eyes. "He would be happy to see you. Such strong people. Such a kind young woman." He looked at each of them. "Willing to risk everything to save his daughter."

The elder wrung his hands. "She must be terrified," he whispered. "Living in the demon world. Pondering if she will survive." The thought of the princess in danger haunted him. He knew time was running out.

The King's welcome lacked warmth. A meager feast was laid out. Raditz sneered inwardly. Raunch's cooking was divine. This tasted like bland gruel. Raunch's dishes exploded with flavor. This stuff was simply dull. It was a hundred times worse. He ate it anyway, out of respect. Wasting food gnawed at his core values. The royal chef was no Raunch. Nappa, ever watchful, picked up Raditz's thoughts. "You're biased," Nappa rumbled, a statement of fact.

The aged King spoke then. He described a daunting task. To the Saiyans, it seemed simple. His knights feared it, he lamented. They refused to even attempt it. Vegeta, bored, stopped eating. His Saiyan pride flared. He stood tall, facing the King. "We can crush your army," Vegeta stated flatly. "Nappa leads my military. He destroys entire nations. Raditz and Kakarot are my Saiyan cousins. They can defeat your guard easily. I could destroy the moon with one blast." Vegeta paused, his eyes sharp. "We aren't helpless. We're here to save your daughter. She's trapped in the demon world. The least you can do is trust us."

The King's face turned red with anger. "How dare a commoner speak to me?" he roared, his voice shaking.

Vegeta corrected him, his voice cold. "I am Prince Vegeta." He was the heir to a fallen kingdom. A kingdom of proud Saiyans. The King ignored the title. "So, you believe you can rescue my daughter?" he asked with disbelief. He clearly doubted their abilities.

Goku, still eating, grinned widely. He yelled, "Of course! It'll be easy!" He beamed, confident in their strength. Vegeta rolled his eyes. Goku was still a child at heart. But his strength was beyond question. He hoped the King understood this. They were his only hope. His best chance to save the princess.

The King considered their words. Doubt still clouded his face. He desperately needed his daughter back. Could he trust these Saiyans? He walked to Goku, his expression grim.

He told them of the demon world's portal. It was once sealed by a massive door. No one could break it down, ever. The door separated human and demon worlds. Shula, a powerful demon, broke it. He jammed the broken door, keeping it open. Now demons enter the human world freely. Humans need permission to enter theirs. Demons enslave any human they catch. Captivity is forever, a fate worse than death. He didn't want to send weaklings to their doom. It was a matter of safety for others. Even if it meant his daughter waited longer.

Nappa nodded, understanding the King's care. The Saiyans grasped his love for his people. They understood his love for his family.

Goku finished eating. He looked up, determination in his eyes. "Worry not. We will succeed without fail." He added, "We need no rewards. We do this to train." He wanted to prepare for the world martial arts tournament. "My Master, Master Roshi, expects this of me. Now, guide us. Or tell us where the portal is."

The heavy oak door stood firm. It wasn't broken, but a massive sword was jammed into the ground. The sword blocked the door from closing. Goku grabbed the hilt. Vegeta, Raditz, and Nappa joined him. They strained and grunted. The sword wouldn't budge. Not even an inch.

King Kaioshin sighed. "That's the Demon Sword." He explained the curse: "Only Shula's defeat can release it."

"But there's more," he added with concern. "Removing the sword now would seal the princess in the Demon World." His daughter, their crown princess.

Queen Kaioshin stepped forward. "Please, be careful," she pleaded.

Goku, Vegeta, Raditz, and Nappa felt foolish. They apologized. Raunch giggled, amused by their sudden humility.

"I'll stay here," Raunch offered. "I'm just a human girl." She would prepare for their return. A warm camp, hot food, and medical supplies. "Go save the princess!"

Goku nodded. He stepped through the portal. The others followed. They found themselves in a strange land. Two demons stood before them. One was huge and blue, a brute of a demon. The other was a beautiful demon lady. Her red hair flowed like fire.

"We're here to defeat Shula," Goku announced. "We'll free the princess."

Gola, the blue demon, roared. "Foolish Saiyans!" He charged at Goku.

Goku sidestepped. He flicked Gola's head. The giant demon crashed to the ground.

The red-haired demoness smirked. "I'll guide you," she purred. "This should be fun." Her words dripped with hidden meaning.

They arrived at a grand celebration. Demons cheered and reveled. They shouted blessings for Shula and the princess. An upcoming wedding was close.

Goku expected fire and brimstone. Instead, the demons seemed friendly, even helpful. He jumped onto the stage. "I challenge Shula!" he yelled.

A hulking demon blocked his path. Six times Goku's size. Goku punched him once. The giant demon crumpled.

Shula rose from his throne. "I accept your challenge, Saiyan." He channeled his power. A small tornado formed around his arm. He swung at Goku.

Goku planted his power pole. He stood firm. Then, he leaped forward. He struck Shula hard. The demon king fell.

Goku hoisted the princess onto his shoulder. "Let's go!" he shouted. He charged toward the portal. Vegeta, Raditz, and Nappa blasted any demons in their way.

They burst back into the human realm. Before anyone could speak, the princess ran. She leaped into her parents' arms. Relief and happiness shone on her face. The nightmare was finally over.

Melee, the demon lady, was stunning. Her crimson eyes held ancient secrets. Gola, her blue, hulking friend, shifted his weight. They both awaited Goku's return. He was destined to pull the sword. "The door is usually sealed," Melee said. Her voice was like velvet. "Demons like Gola and I guard it." She held up a simple iron key. "We hold the only key." The door protected both humans and demons. It kept chaos from spilling over.

Goku grinned, his white hair a bright contrast to the dark demon world. "Things will be dull here after we leave." He pointed out that she led them to Shula. "Someone will seek revenge. Come with us. It will be safer. Plus, we can have fun!"

Melee's eyes widened. She considered the offer. "I would love to, but the sun is lethal to us." She gestured to Gola. "We can only enter the human world at night."

Goku chuckled. He reached into his pocket. He pulled out two small, crimson pills. "Eat these." He handed one to Melee and one to Gola. "They will block the sun's power."

Melee didn't hesitate. She swallowed the pill. Gola watched her, then did the same. "But after the sword," Gola rumbled. "I must stay. I cannot abandon my duty as gatekeeper."

Melee walked toward the portal to the human world. The sun blazed high in the sky. She felt nothing, no pain, no burning. Goku yanked the sword free. The demon door slammed shut with a deafening boom.

Melee laughed, a rich, melodic sound. "No one is opening that door." She looked at the key in her hand. "Only demons can unlock it. And I am the only one who has the key. Nobody is getting through anytime soon." Her smile widened. The adventures were just beginning.

Goku watched Melee with a kind smile. He thought she might have to walk with them. Fate had other plans. Raunch turned to Melee. "Want to ride with me on Nimbus?" she asked.

Goku's eyes widened. Was Melee a demon? He didn't know if anyone else suspected. His first thought was danger. Would she fall right through? Demons couldn't usually ride the Nimbus.

But, surprisingly, Raunch had a pure heart. She hopped onto the flying cloud. She snuggled into it. "It's softer than cotton," she said.

Raunch smiled. "I want to chat," she told Melee. "Girl time!"

She wanted to know about Melee's life. What were demon customs? How did she grow up? Raunch was very curious.

The group traveled onward. Suddenly, chaos erupted up ahead. A truck sped toward them, overloaded. The driver screamed, "Get out of the way! No brakes!"

Goku, Vegeta, and Raditz acted fast. They dropped their packs. They raced past the out-of-control truck. Using their strength, they stopped it.

The driver and his wife were grateful. Vegeta frowned. "Why were you driving like that?" he asked.

The driver explained. "We're escaping a monster," he said. "It destroyed our village."

He described the beast. "It's part deer, part pig, and part butterfly," he said.

Nappa was curious. "Does it have a name?" he asked.

The man looked confused. "Why do you want to know?"

Nappa grinned. "Goku and Vegeta love to fight," he explained. "This monster sounds like a worthy foe."

The man hesitated. "Follow the skid marks," he said. "They lead to our ruined village."

Goku thanked them. He, Vegeta, Nappa, and Raditz sped off. They arrived at the village.

Two familiar figures stood there. It was Tien and Chiaotzu. They wore their Crane School uniforms. Something felt wrong.

They were about to take money to kill the monster. Vegeta marched over to the tied-up beast. He started to tickle it.

The animal burst into laughter. It was a huge boar with deer antlers and butterfly wings.

"You said you killed it?" Vegeta yelled. "He's alive! This is a scam!" He accused them of tricking the villagers.

Tien looked angry. Chiaotzu screamed, "We're busted!" They ran away.

Goku freed the animal. A young girl approached. "Is he dangerous?" she asked.

Goku smiled. "They probably made him do it," he said. "He's Master Roshi's pet. He's gentle."

The animal looked at Goku. His hooves touched the ground. He smiled. The once-fierce monster was now a friendly pet. His name was InoShikaCho.

The trip ended fast. Super Hero High School stood tall. It glowed in Metropolis. The school had it all. It helped students grow. They learned to be great heroes. They shielded the innocent. Vegeta and Raditz walked in. Nappa and Melee headed to Capsule Corp. They would help people there. They would study KI. They would work to make fighters stronger. Bulma and Leggings would guide them. They were top scientists. Capsule Corp staff told him this. Vegeta and Raditz signed up. They had to go to orientation. A staff member smiled. "You're not late," she said

Raunch met the principal. Principal Waller was tall. She had tanned skin. Her suit was sharp. She welcomed Raunch. "You're one of our new cooks," she said. Waller smiled wide. "I hear you are great. I can't wait to taste your food." She thought the students would love it too.

Goku had nothing to do. He left the campus. He wanted to train more. A cop stopped him cold. "Where do you think you're going?" he barked.

Goku told the cop his plan. "I need to train for the world tournament."

The cop laughed hard. "Not likely," he sneered. "Turn around now! Go back to school!" He pointed at the campus. He watched Goku closely.

Goku calmly told the officer he was not a student. He wasn't from this city at all. The cop was not listening. He grabbed Goku's tail with a sneer. "If you won't come willingly," the cop growled. "I'll drag you to the principal myself!" Goku felt a sharp pain shoot up his spine. He was helpless as the cop dragged him roughly across the ground. They were headed toward the school.

A woman's voice cut through the air. "Why are you dragging that kid?" she asked, concerned. Goku winced. "I'm seventeen," he said, irritated. "I'm not a kid! I don't even live here, let alone go to this school!" The woman, Amanda Waller, helped him to his feet. Her voice was gentle. "What's your name?" she asked. "Son Goku," he replied, still brushing dirt off his clothes.

Waller quickly pulled out a tablet. She checked the student roster. "There's no Son Goku listed," she said, frowning. Suddenly, a voice called out. It was his brother. "Check under Kakarot," Raditz said. He stood with Vegeta near the school entrance. They needed to discuss dorm room arrangements with the principal. Waller typed in "Kakarot." Still nothing. "No Kakarot either," she announced.

Goku glared at the cop. The officer seemed unfazed, not even a hint of apology. "I told him," Goku said, his voice rising. "I'm from Mount Paozu! I don't even live in this city. But this idiot wouldn't listen. He just grabbed my tail!" Waller's eyes narrowed. She turned back to Goku. "What's your mother's name?" she asked. "Gine," Goku answered. Waller walked to the nearby public phones. She quickly dialed a number, her expression serious. "Gine," she spoke into the phone. "Your presence is needed at Super Hero High School."

Gine shot through the sky, headed straight for the address Waller gave Gine. Doubt gnawed at her. Waller's voice on the phone sounded too slick. She landed hard, dust swirling. A police officer stood there, practically sneering at Goku. Anger flared, hot and sharp. It took all her control not to deck him right then. The cop gripped something. It was long, brown, and furry. Her eyes narrowed. He held it like a leash. Fury choked her. "Let go of my son!" she snapped. "Or I swear I'll charge you with sexual assault!"

The officer blinked, confused. "What are you talking about?" Gine's hands clenched. "Let go of his tail!" The cop frowned. "This is just a belt, lady." Gine's tail swished free from her pants. It mirrored Goku's, a clear Saiyan trait. "That's not a belt. That's his tail!" The cop's face went white. He released Goku like he was a hot coal. He had been dragging Goku by his tail. Shock filled Gine. Humiliation burned in her veins for her son.

She stalked toward Waller, who looked equally horrified. "I was eating dinner!" Gine growled. "I flew three hundred miles. This better be good." Waller wrung her hands. "I just needed to know if he was a student here, at Super Hero High." Gine scoffed. "He's not. He trains at the Turtle House with Master Roshi." Her eyes scanned the schoolyard. Two figures stood apart, radiating power. Vegeta and Raditz. Other Saiyans. "But," she added, a smirk playing on her lips, "now that we're here, why not go to school?"

Goku froze. He couldn't believe it. His mother? She asked why she needed to talk about a boy named Goku. Hearing his birth name, Kakarot shocked him. She spun around. She saw an older Raditz. "My baby Raditz," she cried, reaching for him. Raditz ignored her. He sneered at the cop holding Goku's tail. "Don't laugh at what I'm about to do." A creepy smile spread across his face. He rushed towards Gine, yelling, "Mommy!"

Gine embraced Raditz tightly. She then noticed Goku, the boy with the tail. She wanted to hug him, calling him Kakarot. Goku corrected her. "I prefer Son Goku." She hugged him anyway, then smacked Raditz's head. "I don't care what humans call you. You're Kakarot to me!"

Waller interrupted the reunion. "Touching family moment. But, paperwork first." Once Gine signed, her youngest son could enroll. "Why not use Kakarot as his hero name?" Goku didn't care about hero names after all the forms.

Vice Principal Grodd appeared. He led Goku, Vegeta, and Raditz away. He said they would meet six new students. Sadly, they were in detention with a girl watching them. Gine was shocked. The Saiyan prince survived. She peppered Waller with questions about Goku's needs and problems. Grodd hurried the boys toward detention.

Vegeta strutted towards a young woman guarding the room. His voice dripped with arrogance. "Why are these low-class warriors detained?" Wonder Woman sighed. "They started a food fight. Disgraceful!" She introduced herself, "Princess of the Amazons."

Power Girl glared. Batgirl and Harlee bickered. Jessica, a Green Lantern, shook her head. Supergirl and Hawkgirl argued over who started it. They blamed each other for the chaotic food fight in the cafeteria.
