Mare's Cinematic Universe

{ Summary }

We rarely remember things as they were. It's a flaw of human nature, by no fault of our own.

And in a world aching to forget those not like us, who better to remember than someone who was there from the beginning?

Before there were Avengers, before there was SHIELD, there was the Wolverine she knew.

The X-MEN, mutants.

She remembers, was there before there were "X-Men" or "Avengers," matters, before there were blurred lines of loyalty and pissing matches between divisions and paperwork. She was there watching the world change from the dark forges of desperation, from the hopelessness of a dark world.

Iron and concrete. Adamantium and sinew.

X-Men and Avenger, before the world even knew it needed both of them.

And she'll damn well be sure she's there when it does.

X-Men and Avengers. SHIELD and Charles Xavier. How the loyalties fall is yet to be seen. Two worlds rise, and two worlds fall.

It's evolution. It's birth, death.

It's survival.

Hello hello, welcome in!

So. What we have is a little bit of reboot, here. I'm creating my own MCU (Mare's Cinematic Universe) and dropping the X-Men and the Avengers into one big happy timeline! Primarily by throwing Tony Stark into the whole hot mess of a thing, because I've absolutely decided I missed Tony and want to torture Iron Man (who doesn't?).

That being said, we have to adjust some things here and make some ✨ clarifications✨.

Vile Things is Mare and Logan's origin story and how they meet, and eventually, how Tony enters the picture of the story here. We all know Iron Man kicks off around 2008, and this story is set after those events, not terribly far before the events of 2013's The Wolverine, some time after X-Men: The Last Stand.

What' s important to know about this universe is that the Avengers and X-Men coexist in the same world. I'm a firm believer that to fit the X-Men into the MCU, you have to have them run parallel lines, and that the Avengers have to have been in the background of the X-Men events from the jump.

As you can imagine, this rewrites a lot of events, and makes some movies, from both franchises, obsolete.

So, think of my timeline as X-Men solving mutant/localized issues that haven't exactly pinged the radar of pre-SHIELD, yet, but exist as the beginnings of the program. Like the X-Men are here, doing their own thing, but Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division (pre-Avengers) hasn't gotten involved yet.

Note that Days of Future Past doesn't, and will not, exist in my timeline. There's a reason for that.

That being said, as we'll discover, the Avengers and X-Men work together on some occasions, because we all know some of the events of X-Men would definitely hit the radar of the Avengers if they were in the same universe. Really, I'm blending them together, and fixing what Brian Singer left a big mess in the X-Men franchise and what two opposing ownerships were unable to do because of some real-world legal BS (Fox and Marvel).

Mare is my bridge for the Avengers holding hands with the X-Men, essentially.

I've always believed Wolverine should've been an Avenger, honestly, and now I get to divide Logan between the Avengers and X-Men (what a MESSY divorce, lmao), because that honestly will be so much fun. Entirely too much fun.

So, bear with me as I attempt to correct two entire franchise timelines and blend them together.

We got this!
