A few weeks after Maddie had moved in with Liv, she was getting dressed in a locker room at her team's stadium.
"Great practice today, Maddie, you're really getting the hang of how things are done around here," said a dark haired woman who opened a locker next to Maddie's.
"Same to you, Audrey," said Maddie.
"By the way, I was wanting to ask you about this," said Audrey while pointing to a pansexual pride flag in Maddie's locker that had been hung up on the door. There was also a family photo on the top shelf.
"Got a problem with gay people?" asked Maddie.
"Not really, seeing as I'm also a lesbian," said Audrey.
"Oh, uh, sorry about being so defensive," said Maddie, the wall she had put up breaking a little at hearing the other woman's words.
"It's alright, in fact having a good defense is a good thing," said Audrey.
"Had to build it after coming out in college, I had broken up with my boyfriend in my first year and realized that I also liked women soon after and didn't see the point in hiding the fact," said Maddie.
"Guess you haven't had many chances to date though with your guard up like that," said Audrey.
"I dated a girl for a month but she had to leave the college thanks to some idiots that were harassing her and the school doing nothing to stop it," said Maddie.
"Would you be up for going on a date with me this Saturday then?" asked Audrey.
"Is it alright for teammates to date?" asked a shocked Maddie.
"There's nothing against it in the team contract and everyone here already knows about my sexualtity to which nothing has come about," said Audrey with a chuckle.
"Okay, where do you want to go?" asked Maddie.
"I'll message you the details later," said Audrey as she finished getting dressed and headed out.
"Can't believe that just happened," said Maddie as she stood there, too stunned to move.
