Toy Bonnie POV
I run to Chica's side and get down on my hands and knees. She's on and working fine as far as I can tell, but she doesn't respond to me.
I get onto my feet and glare at Freddy. "Great job, buddy. You broke Chica!"
"How the fuck would I do that? Is she telepathically connected to the trash pile?" Freddy snarks.
"You smashed her girlfriend, you dick!" I yell. "How's she supposed to do her job now?!"
Freddy waves his hand dismissively. "She'll get over it and be back to her regular, annoying self in no time. I know I wouldn't be that lucky."
"That was uncalled for, Freddy," I mutter, fists clenched.
"You're telling me it was better having this scrap heap around? She would've been shitcanned anyway."
"Whatever," I reply. "In any case, what if you're wrong? What if she doesn't get better?"
"What's with all the fucking questions? You're acting like her right now."
"She's our friend; at least, she considers us her friends, and I think as her friends we should be a little concerned when she's acting out of sorts!"
He snorts. "You're acting like you give a shit about her now?"
I grit my teeth. "Beg pardon?"
"You haven't so much as spoken to her in ages. Hell, you were the one who sent BB to snoop in the first place. Don't come in acting all holier-than-thou when you're the reason she's so fucked up to begin with."
My shoulders sag. He's right, of course. I'm an awful friend. She's never had so much a harsh word to say and I've been behaving like a jackass.
"Well, now that that's over with…" Freddy trundles back out of the room, probably to scare the day guard who should be arriving anytime.
I can't just leave her on the floor. After trying unsuccessfully to get her to wake up, I pull her up by her arms and heave her torso-first onto my back. She's a little taller than me and almost as heavy, so carrying her is a pain in the ass, but I eventually get over to a table and lay her down flat on top of it.
She'll feel better after her nap. First thing I'm gonna do when she wakes up is apologize for being such a dick. Then I'll help her rebuild her friend, one piece at a time.
