Sonic MovieVerse: You're Not Alone Anymore

Chapter 1: Reflection & New Member

It was a nice and sunny day in GreenHills, Montana. The Wachowski family were having a well deserved break from their battle against Gerald Robotnik. The family was having dinner in front of the lake.

Knuckles whooped loudly, "This food looks marvellous Lady of Pretzels! I've never had food like this before!" Knuckles boomed giving his fists a little bump and giving a thumbs up.

Maddie smiled at the compliment, "Thank you Knuckles! I appreciate that sweetheart." Maddie said with a smile.

Sonic whooped too, "You said it Knux! Mom makes the best food ever!" Sonic complimented.

Maddie smirked before booping Sonic's nose, "Awww! Thank you, Blueberry!" Maddie thanked.

Sonic laughed before winking.

It was 5 days after the eclipse cannon event, where Super Shadow, Super Sonic, Tails and Knuckles saved the world. It's also been 3 days since Tom got released from the hospital due to injuries he suffered from when Shadow punched him during their heist to find the second key after mistakenly believing Tom was Commander Walters.

It was a rough few days, especially for Sonic and Tails, since they are quite close with Tom. And Sonic felt especially angry and left Sonic and Tails to fight Shadow himself.

The battle between the two were fierce and intense. Sonic almost ended up killing Shadow but Tom reminded him that wasnt who he was. The two soon talked out their differences. Shadow apologised to Sonic about hurting Tom.

They soon teamed up with a dab and turned super. They worked together to save the world. The eclipse cannon overpowered Sonic, but Shadow held on for him. It came with a price though. Shadow and Eggman both sacrificed themselves. Shadow had to push the station away from Earth.

Tails was able to slow Sonic's fall after the hedgehog fell out of the sky after the cannon overpowered him. Tails couldn't handle the pressure on the stratosphere and soon passed out from the wind and heat. It was Knuckles who tossed the ring and brought them to safety.

Knuckles and Sonic were having a one-on-one talk. While Maddie and Tom were cooking dinner, Chilli Dogs and fries, Tails and Sonic's favourite.

Tails however was sitting quietly, staring towards the lake, the sunset, wrapped up in his fluffy tails. His head in his lap. He wanted to talk to Tom and Sonic about it but was worried that they may yell at him, or even worse….he didn't want to think about that! But the thing is. Tails never acted like this before.

Unknown to him, his friends noticed his silence. Especially Tom and Sonic. They wanted to do anything to help cheer up Tails or comfort him. Tom looked at the young fox, feeling very concerned, "I-Is T-Tails…okay? The little guy has been very unusually quiet." Tom softly asked.

Sonic frowned in worry, "I think the final battle took a really big toll on the kid. As long as we give Tails lots of love and support, I'm sure he'll pull through!" Sonic explained, his voice quiet. "Tails has been holding it in so much."

Maddie also felt her heart go out for the fox. "Poor baby…he's been taking this experience pretty hard." She softly said.

Sonic looked at Maddie with a grim expression, very worried about his best friend and teammate, "Tails has been very outgoing and confident during the time when we celebrated my 'Bearthday', which was amazing and I thank you again, and we had to stop Shadow. But now…he's been very distant even towards me."

Tom then looked at Sonic, "And I heard him break down during last night." Tom explained.

Sonic frowned, a worried look on his expression. "Now that you mentioned it, I did hear him crying." Sonic worriedly said.

Knuckles then spoke, "The fox was extremely brave. He was a true warrior when he saved you after you fell from the Eclipse Cannon." He explained, his voice firmly but also concerned.

Sonic then looked up at Knuckles in surprise, almost dropping his chilli dog, "Wait, he tried to save me when I fell?!" Sonic was both amazed and shocked. "Hold on back up! Slow down! What happened?!" Sonic shouted.

Knuckles then explained, "So when you were falling, the fox and I ran towards the exit of the ARK, I threw the fox out and he blasted towards you. Unfortunately, due to the gravity, he also passed out. I was the one who threw the ring. I believe the gravity was too strong for the young warrior's body."

Sonic slowly smiled. Tails was sure brave, "Aawww that smart little fox!" Sonic's expression turned from worried to a joyful look and even proud. "Tails has been very close to me since we had that dance off in Siberia when I first met Tails and Knux. I love Pivonka!"

Tom chuckled, "Tails seems to be quite a brave fox. Sonic, I'm glad you found your wingman buddy." He gave Sonic an affectionate ruffle on the quills.

Sonic chuckled softly, his eyes glowing, "And I'm glad I found them too…dad.." Sonic softly replied. "But I can't help but wonder….what has Knuckles and Tails been through…I wanna do more to help them…"

Knuckles then chimed in, "The kid's strong. The young warrior fought hard to hang on to whatever he had growing up. I'm proud of the fox!" His eyes glowed red, determined to protect their youngest.

Tom chuckled, he then looked at Tails, noticing the fox trembling and heaving, "Sonic…I think…he's crying.." Tom was especially worried, he had not seen Tails cry ever. His father instincts told him that he was hurting.

Hearing these words come out of the sheriff, Sonic immediately jumped to his feet in an instant, which worried the hedgehog greatly. "I'll talk to him. Dad, you stay with mum, Knux and Ozzie." Sonic spoke, his eyes full of worry and seriousness. "If I need you, I'll give you a shout."

Tom gave Sonic a thumbs up, which the hedgehog returned, "Alright Sonic!" He replied.

Sonic stood tall, his quills and eyes glowing in a warm and electric blue, Sonic's look gave off a burning determination as he embraced the role of a protective team leader. The importance of responsibility rested on his shoulders, he felt the determination in his responsibility to protect his friends and family from any danger that might come their way. Sonic also visualized himself not just as a teammate, but as a dependable role model, easily inspiring people and friends around him to be their best. With each resolve, he promised to foster a sense of harmony, bravery and strength within his team, ready to confront any challenges that lay ahead.

Tom then softly called out, "Just go easy with him bud, alright?" Tom then turned to stand with his wife, eldest son and best dog friend. His heart was full of worry.

Sonic nodded before approaching his friend near the end of the lake, wanting to offer some comfort to him. Sonic almost let out a gasp. Tails' eyes were filled with tears, his ears flat on his head.

Sonic did not like this at all. He hated seeing Tails this vulnerable. "Hey, Tails? You okay-" Sonic spoke up gently, laying a gentle hand on his shoulder.

Tails yelped, immediately jumping into action, his tails twitching in anticipation. "A-A-Ahh! Who's here?! What is going on-?!" Tails sounded kinda spooked but quickly calmed down once he saw it was Sonic.

Sonic held back a yelp and took one step back, "Hey hey hey…..Easy Tails…you're okay…what's wrong bud ? You okay?" The blue blur asked his troubled friend. "Is there anything bothering you little bro?"

Tails shook his head, unable to take it anymore, he needed to talk to Sonic and Tom. "S-S-S-Sonic? C-C-C-Can…." He hesitated for a bit. He didn't want to be a burden to Sonic

Sonic frowned at Tails' hesitation, the fox was still kinda shy but he's brave when he needs to be. Sonic laid a hand on Tails' back. "Tails…you don't have to worry. I'm your big brother…you can tell me anything." Sonic made sure his voice was gentle, calm and full of protective comfort.

Tails hesitated a bit more. Before finally saying in a soft voice, "C-C-Can I talk privately with you and dad?" He asked, unable to look at his brother and teammate. He was scared he might lose him.

Sonic nodded firmly, sensing something happened, he laid a hand on Tails' shoulder. "Yeah, we can talk privately bud. I'm here for you, and I'll always be here. I promise." He then turned to the table and called out, "Hey donut lord! We need you!"

Tom stopped what he was doing before running over to the two boys, Tails hid behind Sonic, hoping his dad will be forgiving towards the young fox. "What's up Sonic? Everything okay?" His voice was full of concern.

Sonic gently hugged Tails, making sure to let him know that he's here for him. "Tails wanted to talk to the both of us in Private." Sonic explained, a bit of seriousness in his tone.

Tom then sensed the tension and slowly knelt down, "Tails? Are you okay bud?" His voice was gentle and full of protection. "You can tell us anything kiddo. We're here for you!"

Tails gripped one of his tails, trying his best to not get his emotions best of him, "U-U-U-Ummm….d-d-d-dad? S-S-S-Sonic…." Tails was extremely hesitant. His heart pounding in anxiety and his chest heavy full of fear.

Tails whimpered and shut his eyes tightly, kinda scared to talk about it. Sonic gripped his hand on Tails' shoulder a bit tighter, giving him an encouraging squeeze. "T-Tails….You don't have to be afraid anymore pal! I know it's kinda hard for you to talk but I'll be here by you." Sonic comforted, his voice soft and gentle.

Tom also smiled gently at the young fox, "Take all the time you need bud, you don't have to force yourself. If you're nervous, that's okay. We'll be here with you."

Tails took a shaky breath before asking, "D-D-D-Dad? S-S-S-Sonic? Are you b-b-b-both gonna throw m-m-m-me out of the house and the family….?" Tails' voice sounds so innocent, and Sonic can hear the pain in his voice.

Sonic almost yelped in worry, shook his head firmly, not fully understanding why Tails asked that. He was also very worried about him, "Tails no! We're not gonna throw you out of the house….!" Sonic's voice was worried and firm.

Tom gasped in worry, not expecting to hear Tails just ask that, "T-Tails…no…I'm not gonna throw you-" Tails tried to comfort but Tails sobbed.

Tails took some shaky but fast breaths, "You guys don't need me anymore, not after what I did today!" Tails protested, his emotions almost unbearable to control.

Tom was shocked to hear this, even more shocked as he heard Tails breaking down like this. "T-T-Tails…hey hey hey…." Tom tried to soothe but words fell.

Sonic immediately wrapped his arms around Tails, trying him some comfort, "Tails Tails….whats wrong? Come on, you can tell us…." Sonic asked him, his voice gentle and soft.

Tails was still crying hysterically. "D-D-Dad! I'm so sorry! It was my fault that you got hurt and almost killed! I'm so sorry!" Tails' words were painful to hear. "I'm so sorry dad! Sonic! Please forgive me!"

Sonic's heart raced with alarm as Tails' distress echoed in the room. Tails did not just say that. He never ever wanted to kick Tails out. Tails is his best friend, teammate and brother. He shook his head, baffled and anxious, "NO! Tails, no! We're not throwing you out of the house. We love you little bro…I would never ever do that..! EVER!…!" Sonic's voice, though tinged with urgency, held a firm tone.

Tom's breath caught in his throat, truly stunned by Tails' sudden outburst. "T-Tails…no! I would never throw you out. I promise, you're my son, and I love you!" His voice quivered, laced with desperation.

Tails was overwhelmed, his breaths coming in shaky bursts. "You guys don't need me anymore! Not after what I did!" he protested, his emotions bubbling over like a shaken soda, threatening to explode.

Tom stood frozen, shock washing over him as he witnessed the tidal wave of emotion crashing over Tails. "T-T-Tails…hey, hey, calm down…" he stammered, struggling to find the right words. "It's gonna be okay…"

Just then, Sonic sprang into action, enveloping Tails in a warm, comforting embrace. Tom was amazed how Sonic was able to know just what to do. "Tails, Tails…what's going on? You can tell us anything…" Sonic urged softly, determination shining in his eyes.

Nonetheless, Tails was lost in a whirlwind of tears, his cries echoing like a heart-wrenching melody. "D-D-Dad! I'm so sorry! It was my fault you got hurt, and you almost…!" The agony in his words pierced the atmosphere. "Please forgive me, Sonic! I'm begging you!"

With a tender hand on Tails' cheek, Tom locked eyes with him, fiercely rubbing his cheek to offer consolation. "Tails, listen to me. It wasn't your fault. None of this was your fau—" But he was cut off by Tails' outburst.

Tails was practically sobbing and bawling, "YES IT IS! IT'S MY FAULT! My hologram device didn't have a safety setting! If Shadow hadn't seen Tom as Walkers, he wouldn't have hurt him! I'm just a stupid, dumb fox—" Tails' emotional breakdown

Sonic, refusing to let go, squeezed Tails tighter in a protective hug. Tears shimmered in his eyes, not from grief but from a fierce worry for his friend. With a voice as steady as it was compassionate, he spoke, his words wrapping around Tails like a lifeline. "Tails, my dear friend…please listen to me. I want you to know that none of this is your fault. You are not to blame for what happened. Shadow's actions toward Tom were beyond your control, and you couldn't have prevented it. The important thing is that Tom is back with us now and he's okay. We're all here for you." Sonic's voice softly soothed. His voice felt like a tight hug of assurance and warmth.

Tom laid his hand on Tails' head gently. "Hey hey hey hey! Tails…Sonic's right. You didn't know that Shadow was there. Please don't blame yourself bud." The sheriff reassured.

Tails trembled in Sonic's embrace, his small frame quaking with anxiety as he struggled to find his voice. "B-B-But the holograms…" he stammered, tears welling in his wide eyes. "Shadow almost killed Tom… It just feels like I'm not good enough for anything anymore. I could never, ever forgive myself if something happened again!" His sobs broke through, each one laced with despair. "I'm not… I'm just not…" He buried his face in Sonic's shoulder, the weight of his emotions threatening to consume him.

Tom gently placed a hand on Tails's shoulder, "Hey Hey Hey, shhhh….You're being way too hard on yourself Tails… What happened wasn't your fault. You're not the one to blame. None of it was your fault, understand me? I'm still here buddy." Tom soothed

Tails looked up at Tom, his eyes welling up with tears again. He let out a soft sob as he nodded. It was hard for him not to blame himself, but he tried to keep those kinds of thoughts out of his head. "O-Okay, Dad. I-I understand. I'll try..." Tails softly replied.

Tom smiled and ruffled Tails' hair affectionately, keeping Tails happy and safe, That's my boy. We're all gonna get through this together, you hear?" Tom assured his boy.

Sonic softly ran his hand up and down Tails' back, "Shhhh….its gonna be okay Tails. We're gonna be here for you pal! We're not leaving you." Sonic soothed in a soft voice.

Maddie, Knuckles and even Ozzie ran over and knelt down. Maddie saw Tails' emotional state couldn't help herself from hugging Tails, same with Knuckles.

Knuckles softly soothed, "Tails…it wasn't your fault that dad got hurt, it was Shadows!" Knuckles explained.

Maddie nodded, and gently hugged Tails, letting the little fox cry in her arms. She also gently rubbed Tails' back. Maddie cooed, "Hey…I know you feel bad…but none of this is your fault, ok honey?"

Tails just whimpered and kept sobbing. He didn't say that it was his fault, but he was certainly thinking it. He blamed himself for not being better. He just didn't know what to do with himself.

Sonic moved closer right next to Tails. "Tails Tails…shhhh..Hey, pal…look at me." Sonic soothed. Trying to look at Tails' face.

Tails slowly turned his head and looked at Sonic through teary eyes. He looked so emotionally traumatised.

Sonic gave him a soft smile. Before gently wiping the tears away from his cheeks, "This isn't your fault, buddy. Don't let yourself think that for a second, okay?"

Tom then came up on the other side of Tails. "Sonic's right, Buddy. None of this is your fault. You hear me?"

Tails sniffed as his lip trembled, looking at Tom and Sonic. He knew they were right, but he couldn't help but think of all the things that went wrong in that battle. He could have done better, but he wasn't good enough. Tails shut his eyes tightly.

Sonic placed a hand gently on Tails' back. "Look, Tails. We all make mistakes. But that doesn't mean you're not good enough. You're a valuable member of our team and you've done so much to help us in the past. This whole situation is Shadow's fault, not yours."

Knuckles also nodded before laying a hand on Tails's hand, his voice gruff but gentle. *Knuckles nodded in agreement. "Sonic's right, Tails. You're a brave and clever warrior, and you have helped us so much. Don't let one battle define you. Remember all the good you have done and focus on that."

Tails sniffed, looking at each of the faces around him. He could see the sincerity in their words, and feel the love and support from them. He knew they believed in him, even when he didn't believe in himself. He slowly nodded, taking a deep breath to try and calm himself down.

Sonic thought for a moment, trying to come up with something that would help lift Tails' spirits. Suddenly, an idea popped into his head. He smiled.

Sonic gently lifted Tails to let him sit in Tom's embrace. "Here dad. I'm sure Tails will feel more reassured if you held him, let him know that you're okay."

Tom nodded, gently taking Tails from Sonic and pulled him into a gentle hug, cradling him like he was a child.

Tails melted into Tom's embrace, burying his face in his chest. He felt Tom's strong, comforting arms around him, and the steady beat of his heart. The feeling of safety and security started to soothe him, and he gradually began to relax.

Tom smiled softly, gently rubbing circles over Tails' back. "It's okay, buddy. It's okay. I'm right here, and I'm not going anywhere." Tom promised.

Tails nuzzled against Tom, his grip on him tightening just a bit. He took comfort in Tom's words and began to feel his emotions calming down. The warmth and love radiating from Tom were exactly what he needed in this moment.

Maddie looked up at Sonic, also watching the comfort hug. "Awww! Fluffer looks better now." *She whispered.

Sonic smiled softly, his hands on his hips. "Yeah, he does." Sonic smiled, looking at Maddie before continuing, "Tom's really good with him. I think he just needed some reassurance and comfort, and Tom provided that for him."

Knuckles walked over to the group, nodding in agreement. "Tom has a way of making things better, even in the midst of chaos. He's a great father figure to all of us." Knuckles explained.

Sonic chuckled, "He really is." Sonic agreed, nodding. He looked back at Tom, who was still holding Tails, the young fox's sniffles quieting down to soft, occasional hiccups.

Tails eventually pulled back slightly from Tom's embrace, looking up at him with damp but less teary eyes. He was still clearly feeling upset, but the comfort and reassurance he had received from Tom had helped to ease his inner turmoil a bit. "Thank you, Dad..." Tails sobbed, his voice still somewhat shaky.

Tom smiled down at Tails, gently caressing his head. "Awww! You don't have to thank me, buddy. That's what family is for, alright? We all stick together and take care of each other." Tom softly soothed.

Maddie chimed in, her voice gentle and soothing. "And remember, you can always talk to us if you're feeling upset or overwhelmed. We're here for you, Tails."

Sonic nodded, his ears perking up in agreement. "Yeah, Tails, we're all here for you whenever you need us. You don't have to carry everything alone." Sonic slowly and gently caressing Tails' arm to ease him.

Tails sobbed a bit more softly, nodding his head. He knew they were right, but it was still hard for him to open up and talk about his feelings. Years of being on his own had made him used to dealing with his problems internally and years of never having any friends due to his two tails. But as he looked around at the group of friends who had become his family, he knew that he didn't have to do this alone anymore. Tails now had a support system that loved him and cared about him, and they were there to listen and help him through anything. Sonic felt a small sense of calm wash over him, the tension in his body starting to ease. He took a deep breath, feeling a little more composed than before. He still had his worries and insecurities, but he knew he had people by his side who wouldn't abandon him.

Sonic, Maddie, and Knuckles all exchanged glances, glad to see that Tails was feeling a little better. They knew that it would take time for him to fully process and recover from the trauma of the battle, but they were reassured knowing that he was starting to heal.

Tails piped up, his voice soft. "Sonic...can I ask you something?" He seemed nervous.

Sonic looked down at Tails, his expression softening. "Sure thing, bud. What's on your mind?"

Tails hesitates for a moment, fidgeting with his tails. He seems nervous, but he takes a deep breath and spoke up. "Do you think Shadow can ever be redeemed? Can he truly change and become a better person?"

Sonic looked at Tails, his eyes thoughtful. He thought for a moment, not expecting that question. "Honestly, buddy. I don't know for sure if Shadow can be redeemed. But...there's a part of me that wants to believe he can." Sonic explained, a hint of hope in his voice.

Tom also spoke up, his arms crossed. "I agree with Sonic on this one. I may not trust Shadow as far as I can throw him, but..." He took a deep breath and continued. "I believe anyone can change if they really want to. And I have a feeling that deep down, Shadow still has some good in him."

Sonic explains to the group about the moment he and Shadow had on the moon. "Yeah, we had a really intense conversation up there, and in the midst of it all, I saw a side of Shadow I'd never seen before. He was vulnerable and open about his past pain and how it had affected him." Sonic explained. He pauses for a moment, his eyes fixed on the ground. "I could see how much he was hurting, and it made me realize that he's not the heartless villain we thought he was."

Tails looks surprised, his ears perking up. "You had a heart-to-heart talk with Shadow on the moon... and you saw vulnerability in him?" He repeats back, trying to digest this new piece of information.

Sonic nods, a small smile on his face. "Yeah, it was unexpected. But during our conversation, I saw a glimpse of the loneliness and pain that drives him. It made me realize there was more to him than just anger and violence." Sonic pauses for a moment, his expression turning solemn. "Shadow's pain is heavily linked to a girl named Maria. She was the one person who truly cared for him, and her death had a profound impact on him. It's a big part of what drives his anger and desire for revenge."

Tails expression softens, sympathy in his eyes. "I see... that's heavy... no wonder he's so hurt and angry. I can't even imagine how traumatic that must have been for him."

Tom thinks for a moment, considering what Sonic said. "So, you're saying Shadow's actions are a result of his pain and loss? That he's just lashing out because he doesn't know how to cope with it?"

Sonic nods, his expression thoughtful. "Yeah, that's pretty much it. I think Shadow has a lot of pent-up pain and anger that he hasn't dealt with. He's using revenge as an outlet for all that. It's like he's stuck in a cycle of pain and anger, unable to find a way out."

Shadow appeared out of nowhere, interrupting the conversation. His eyes locked onto Sonic's, "Sonic. Just the hedgehog I was looking for…" He spoke.

Sonic instinctively put a protective arm around Tails, shielding him from Shadow. "Tails get back!" Sonic whispered.

Tails's eyes widened in fear as he saw Shadow appear. He immediately started to shake, and instinctively moved to hide behind Sonic. "EEEP!" Tails yelled.

Sonic's surprise quickly turned into anger as he faced Shadow and asked. "What are you doing here? And how are you still alive?"

Shadow chuckled, a sinister smile on his face. "You really think you could get rid of me that easily? I am the ultimate life form, after all. I'm not so easy to kill." Shadow steps closer to the doorway, his gaze hardening. "But anyway, I need to speak with you. And also wanted to apologise."

Sonic's eyes narrowed as he considered Shadow's intentions. He's skeptical but also intrigued. Seeing Tails cower behind him only strengthens his protective instincts. "Fine, but you'll have to excuse us for being a little cautious. What could you possibly have to say that's so important?" Sonic firmly agreed.

Shadow's smile vanished, his expression turning serious. "It's about the last battle we had. I want to apologize for the way I acted and the harm I caused. I was blinded by anger and revenge, and I let it control me. But after seeing the impact my actions had on others, l realize the error of my ways." Shadow explained to Sonic.

Sonic was taken aback by Shadow's words. He wasn't expecting an apology from the usually cold and ruthless hedgehog. He lowered his guard a bit, but still remains cautious. "That's...unexpected. I must admit, l didn't think you had it in you to apologise."

Shadow looked away, a hint of guilt in his eyes. "I've done a lot of things I'm not proud of, Sonic. I've let my pain and anger consume me for too long, and it's led me down a dark path. But seeing the damage l've caused and the pain I've inflicted on others has made me realize that I need to change. I don't want to be the villain anymore." Shadow clarified.

Sonic's expression softened, a mix of surprise and curiosity in his eyes. He hadn't expected this kind of introspection from Shadow. "So, what are you saying? You want to make amends for your past actions?" Sonic questioned.

Shadow took a deep breath, his eyes locked on Sonic. "Yes, I do. I know that I can't undo the pain I've caused, but I want to make things right. I want to start fresh and make amends for my past deeds. I'm tired of being the villain, Sonic. I want to be a better person." Shadow explained.

Sonic's eyes searched Shadow's face, looking for any hint of deception but finding only sincerity. "Wow...l never thought I'd see the day where you'd apologize to me. You really mean it, don't you? You want to turn over a new leaf?" Sonic softly raised a question.

Shadow nodded, his gaze unflinching. "I really do, Sonic. I've realized that my path of hatred and revenge only leads to more pain and suffering. And frankly, I'm sick of being alone. I want redemption, and I know that I can't do it alone." Shadow replied.

Sonic contemplated for a moment, his instincts telling him to be cautious but his heart telling him to give Shadow a chance. "Alright, Shadow. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. I'll hear you out. But you have to understand that trust is not something that comes easily, especially after all that's happened." Sonic explained, his expression firm but soft.

Shadow nodded firmly, understanding the weight of his past actions. "I get it, Sonic. I know I have a lot to prove. But I'm willing to do whatever it takes to earn your trust and show you that I'm serious about changing." Shadow made clear.

Sonic took a deep breath, weighing the situation carefully. "Okay, Shads. I'll give you a chance. But you have to promise me something." Sonic requested.

Shadow raised an eyebrow, his gaze fixed on Sonic. "What is it? I'm willing to do anything to prove myself." Shadow asked, wanting to know so he can prove to Sonic.

Sonic locked eyes with Shadow, his face full of seriousness, "You gotta promise me that you'll treat my friends...especially Tails... with respect. No more threats, no more violence. Understand?" Sonic requested firmly. "You really scared Tails. Especially what happened when you attacked Tom."

Shadow's expression softened as he saw the protectiveness in Sonic's eyes. He knows that Tails is important to Sonic. "I understand, Sonic. And I give you my word that I will treat your friends and especially Tails with the utmost respect. No more threats or violence. I promise." Shadow promised.

Sonic held his gaze on Shadow for a moment before nodding. "Alright, Shadow. I'll hold you to that promise. And thank you again for pushing the space Station away from the earth after I fell from the cannon, Tails told me everything." Sonic thanked.

Shadow nodded, his expression serious. "No need to thank me," he replied. "I did what I felt was right. And I meant every word of that promise." Shadow then turned to Tails, who was still clinging onto Sonic. He slowly approached him, and got down on his knees. He spooup, his voice soft but clear. "I understand why you might feel weary about my presence, Tails. But I want you to know that I truly regret the pain and suffering I've caused. I've been lost in anger and pain for so long, and it's led me down a dark path. I'm here to make things right."

Tails looked at Shadow with a mixture of weariness and curiosity. He was still clinging onto Sonic, feeling the warmth and comfort of his presence. But he wanted to trust that Shadow was sincere, even though a part of him couldn't completely let go of the fear and hurt he had felt. With a small voice, Tails replied. "I... I want to believe you."

Shadow's expression softened. *He gently nodded. "I understand your hesitance. I'm aware that my past actions have left wounds that are difficult to heal. But I've been doing some soul-searching, and I'm on a path to redemption now. I want to show you all that I'm serious about making amends."

Tails looked at Shadow, hope cautiously flickering in his eyes. He took a deep breath and mustered up the courage to speak. His voice was still shaky. "Okay... I don't want to hold onto this fear and hatred forever. If you're truly sincere about change, I'm willing to give you a chance."

Knuckles had been watching the exchange with a furrowed brow. He was the most wary of Shadow's presence and had a hard time trusting the edgy hedgehog, but he knew how much Tails was hurting. He finally spoke up. "Alright, Shadow," he said gruffly. "You better prove yourself worthy of our trust. We won't tolerate any more harm to any of us, especially Tails."

Shadow nodded, understanding the weight of Knuckles' words. He knew it would take time and effort to gain their trust fully. "I understand, Knuckles. I'm serious about making amends and proving myself to all of you. I won't take your trust for granted."

Sonic, the mediator, stepped in to lighten the mood a bit. He grinned at Shadow and patted him on the shoulder. "Relax, Team. Everyone deserves a second chance. I've seen people change before. People are capable of growth and redemption." Sonic explained in a cool tone.

Shadow appreciated Sonic's optimism, though his expression remained stoic. "Thank you, Sonic. But I understand if the others take time to trust me. I've done harm to them, and I need to earn their forgiveness." Shadow said.

Sonic nodded, a determined look in his eyes. "You're right. It won't be easy, but I believe that with time and sincerity, they'll come around. We've all made mistakes, and we've all been given chances to change. Now it's your turn, Shadow." Sonic softly assured.

Shadow's gaze turned to Tom, recalling the moment he mistook him for Commander Walters and injured him. His expression softened, filled with a mix of guilt and regret. Shadow's voice is soft as he addressed Tom. "Tom, I want to apologize for the way I treated you before. I was blinded by anger and misguided in my actions. I mistook you for someone else, and I acted impulsively. I deeply regret the pain and harm I caused you."

Tom took a moment to process Shadow's apology. While he had been cautious around the newcomer before, he could see the sincerity in Shadow's eyes. Tom responded, his voice firm yet understanding. "Shadow, I appreciate your apology. Your actions back then were indeed misguided, and I suffered for it. But... I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt and believe that you're serious about changing your ways." Tom explained.

Shadow nodded respectfully, grateful for Tom's understanding. "Thank you, Tom. I assure you, I'm committed to making amends and proving my worth as an ally. I won't let you or any of our friends down again."

All of Team Sonic looked at Shadow with looks of determination and confidence. They were ready to forgive Shadow.

Tails, still clutching Sonic's hand, finally spoke up. "Shadow...I'm willing to forgive you. But please, let's make this a clean start. No more misunderstandings, no more hurt."

Knuckles crossed his arms, his expression still guarded, but there was a hint of acceptance in his eyes as well. Yeah, and just remember, we're keeping an eye on you. We may accept your change, but we won't hesitate to defend ourselves if push comes to shove." Knuckles notified.

Sonic nodded in agreement. His hands on his hips, "Exactly. We're giving you a fresh start, but it's up to you to prove yourself. We'll be there to support you. Just don't let us down, Shadow." Sonic also piped in.

Shadow nodded, his expression sincere. He knew the road to redemption wouldn't be easy, but he was prepared to prove himself. "Thank you all. I won't let you down. I'll do everything I can to make amends and earn your trust."

Sonic extended his hand towards Shadow, a friendly gesture. "Well, this is a start, huh? Welcome to the team, Shadow. Let's work together and make sure there's no more trouble on the horizon." Sonic declared.

Shadow shook Sonic's hand, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. He felt a strange sense of gratitude." Thanks, Sonic. I'm looking forward to proving myself, and working with you all to protect what's important." Shadow thanked, feeling very happy.

Maddie and Tom were proud of their children. They both leaned in close hugging.

Maddie smiled, her eyes glimmering with pride, hugging her husband, "Awww babe…Our children are really growing up and learning to forgive and trust again. It warms my heart to see them giving Shadow a second chance." Maddie spoke with a proud tone.

Tom wrapped an arm around Maddie, sharing in her pride. Yeah, they're really something. They've been through so much, and they've come out stronger each time. They're handling this situation with maturity and compassion." Tom also exclaimed.

Sonic then turned to his teammates, Sonic smirked, raising his fist in the air. "Alright, team! We've got a new member on board, and we're stronger than ever. Let's show the world what we can do together!" Sonic declared.

Tails grinned, his spirits lifted by the positive energy. "Sonic's right! We've faced tough battles before, and with Shadow on our side, we can overcome anything. We're unstoppable!" Tails cheered.

Knuckles nodded, a fierce look in his eyes. "That's right. And don't forget, we've got the power of friendship and trust on our side. We'll face any challenges that come our way as a united Team." Knuckles boomed.

Shadow nodded, feeling included and valued for the first time in a long time. He was ready to prove his worth to the team. "I'm with you all the way. Let's protect our friends, and show the world what true teamwork looks like." Shadow spoke, his smirk building.

Sonic bounced on his feet, his excitement evident. The sunset also coming in view. "Okay, friends, on three!" Sonic counted, holding out his fist out.

Knuckles, Shadow and Tails who held their fist, smirked and nodded. "READY!" They cheered.

Sonic prepared for the countdown, "One, two, three!" Sonic looked at his team and counted down.

Sonic, Tails, Shadow and Knuckles all smirked at each other, and raised their fists, "TEAAAAAAAAAAM SONNICC!" The team loudly cheered!

Even Maddie and Tom raised their fists in the air to celebrate the new member of the Team! They are unstoppable!
