A scarab could be seen walking through a dusty cloud in a mountainous terrain. It seemed like it was searching for hiding enemies. Not finding any, it moved on to continue its search.
:Our foe is more devious than we imagined. That spire was indeed a teleporter linked to a cloaked, Covenant supercarrier... A grave threat: spoke Auntie Dot as a small group of Spartan's entered a cave.
Jorge, Thom, Nat, and Emile entered with Jorge carrying a large briefcase. The four were entering to see Carter, Kat, Jun, Rosenda, and Naruto already inside. Carter and Kat were talking near the entrance as Naruto was communicating with Kora.
:Thankfully, help is imminent. Sixty percent of the UNSC fleet is enroute to Reach from existing deployments. The first battle group should arrive within forty-eight hours: added Auntie Dot.
Jorge tossing the briefcase at Emile's feet as Jun spoke "Forty-eight hours?" Removes his helmet. "That's imminent?" he finished wiping off glowing ash from Jorge's shoulder pauldron. Looking around he saw the other Spartan's looking away upon hearing that news. "Uh-oh. Who's your money on this time?"
"Commander Naruto is focused on other things, so I'll say her" stated Jorge taking off his helmet.
"You always pick her"
"She's always had him dialed in."
Kat was staring at Carter who was looking out into the field. "That thing's crushing us, and we're waiting for backup? They'll be backing up a graveyard."
"All our nukes are either out-system or went down with the ships that carried them. The UMC would have to send its fleet to defeat that which is currently defending the mass evacuations. You're preaching to the converted."
"How converted?"
"I know that look, Kat."
"You can say no."
"No."
"You don't even want to hear it?"
"...Fine. I'll hear it."
"Remember that accident a couple years back? Colony ship en route to Cygnus . Seven hundred dead?"
"Vaguely, a slipspace drive malfunction, right?"
"Actually, it worked fine. The drive was mounted improperly after a service haul-out. When it fired, it teleported half the ship to oblivion."
"And this is relevant... how?"
"A certain Covenant supercarrier could, with some assistance, suffer the same unfortunate accident..."
"Even for you, Kat, that's-"
"Inspired?"
"Not the word I would use" he stated as the rest of Noble Team moved up to them to hear the plan.
"What's going on?" spoke up Jun.
"Go ahead. Explain." Offered Carter as Kat took the lead and reached for Emile's kukri, to which he stops her.
"May I?" she asks as he let's go of her hand saying, "Don't cut yourself."
Continuing, she started drawing on the ground as the team looked on. "Objective? Destroy Covenant carrier in geosynchronous orbit above us."
"This sanctioned, sir?" asked Jorge looking towards Carter.
"What do you think?" he stated to which Jorge then looked at Naruto who was focused on other things which gave him his answer. Nope.
"Oh..."
"Method? A slipspace drive in lieu of the nukes we don't have. Delivery system? Us. Solvable? Getting us up there. That, and getting our hands on a slipspace drive." She finishes giving Emile back his kukri to which he sheathes it. "Thank you for sharing."
Carter looking at Kat gave her a look of disbelief stating "So... all we need is orbit-capable transport, and the single most expensive piece of equipment made by man?"
"As a soldier in the field I couldn't possibly have access to those kinds of resources. That said, a good place to look might be... I don't know, the nearest nonexistent launch site in the nonexistent Sabre Program, dismissed by three administrations as preposterous rumor... And in which our newest member was certainly never a pilot." To which they looked They all look at Nat.
Giving an exaggerated chuckle Emile stated "You're scary, you know that?"
"All we need is a green light from Holland. Or Commander Naruto"
"Good luck with that."
Kat hands Carter a data pad and pushing him lightly towards Naruto. "You're the one asking him."
Carter reluctantly takes the pad, and rubs his head before continuing towards Naruto. "Oh, there's no way in hell he's gonna go for this."
With Naruto before
Standing and facing away from the group towards the field, he had his arm up projected 3d pictures of the field. The first image was the current location of the Covenant Carrier that had started pulling away from its current location. With its secrecy being gone it moved to a new and more defendable location. But in return it could now deploy forces in full force without being worried about being discovered.
Images of new Covenant deployment locations were showing up all around the planet. Numerous cities were being targeted to include their own, but unlike others, the Covenant hadn't been able to penetrate their airspace, let alone their lands. The city could be considered a fortress with numerous defensive turrets, stationary MAC's, aircrafts, and ground forces. That's not to include defenses that have not been deployed yet. Something that was needed due to its importance. The space elevator is there along with the Space Port and fleet.
At the moment the city was being evacuated towards the port and elevator with evacuations tunnels now being activated. Tunnels that connected to nearby cities allowed citizens to evacuate from their city to this one. The tunnels were transporting citizens by train and trucks through the system. To ensure its safety, Naruto had Spartan and Shadow (Elemental people) deployed there for protection. To the enemy one individual is bad to them. A team is terrible, and a platoon is a nightmare.
Now he needed to coordinate a force to come to the planet's defense or future evacuation. Many of the fleets were deployed on separate assignments. And others were on defensive assignment. So now Kora was communicating with Precious Justice and command through long range communication to make arrangements for a fleet to come to assist.
"Sir" spoke up a voice making him turn to face Carter. Hearing him out he listened to his creative plan in full detail. Upon finishing he stared down Carter before looking to the side at Kat.
"Kat?" he questioned to which Carter nodded. "It's a very sound plan, but I won't give you a drive for it. I'll give you the nuke and any support I can spare." Stepping away he looked back at his wrist projecting an image of the battleground. "Did you get all that?" he questioned to which Kora appeared nodded.

Nearby Beach
A pelican pulled off from the area into a steep climb leaving a Spartan team behind for their mission. Commander Naruto, leading Noble Team moved forward up the beach and into the rocks for the nearby launch station to come into view. The sounds of gunfire and turret fire showed that the defending Marines were still around giving the Covenant hell.
At the entrance a platoon of marines was firing behind cover as the Covenant tried to advance upon them by using the nearby rocks as cover. A banshee swoped down to perform a bombing riad on them but the AA turret locked on and shredded the banshee with a hailstorm of rounds. As the banshee crashed into the cliff nearby, a Spirit used the distraction to drop off Covenant reinforcements.
"Launch facility, dead ahead." Called out Kat pointing to the facility.
"Hostile transport coming in!" announced Carter moving forward as Naruto called out for them to "Engage! Flank them!" as he fired his battle rifle at an elite.
At once the team of nine Spartans laid waste to the covenant forces from their undefended flank. As they gun through the enemy, Covenant drop pods landed all around them, forcing them to break off.
Upon impact of the ground the pods door opened up for an elite to come roaring out into the barrel of Emile's shotgun. A quick round ended that roar as Jorge, using his chain gun, gunned down some of his fellow pod mates. An elite rolled out of the way only to run into a mechanical fist of Kat which literally snapped its neck.
As they move up to the beach a Seraph is shot down by an anti-air turret and crashes into the base making the guarding marines flinch and duck. "More hostiles in the rocks to the south, root 'em out" called out Jorge aiming his turret at them and firing.
Wanting to end this fast, Naruto formed some hand seals and slammed his hand on the ground making his chakra travel forward. Reaching the Covenant's position, he manipulated the rocks to form sharp spears the rammed through the Covenant forces.
"Everybody inside, more hostiles on the way" called out the marine Sergeant pointing at the entrance doors.
"You heard him. Inside. Nat, Jorge, focus on getting to the Sabre" ordered Naruto as the mentioned two moved forward in first as a Pelican drops additional troopers to combat Covenant forces outside the gate.
Female Army Trooper: "Spartans coming in! Watch your fire!"
Male Army Trooper: "Flight control's this way! They're expecting you."
"Still can't believe Commander said yes to this" muttered Jorge.
"I can't believe he is giving us a nuke instead" added Thom.
"Well, some plans are too good to say no." answered Kat giving a proud tone as they moved through the facility to which a group trooper linked up with them.
"We got a Wraith on the lower platform!" he stated worried.
"Rosenda, Emile, Thom, handle it" ordered Carter to which the two nodded and took off after a trooper who led them.
"Control's right through that door, Commander." Pointed the other trooper to a set of doors as the Base PA sounded off.
"WARNING: LAUNCH FACILITY BREACHED. COVENANT FORCES HAVE ENTERED THE BASE."
"You two have your mission" stated Naruto looking at Nat and Jorge. "The rest of us will sweep and clear the rest of the facility."
With everyone's orders clear, Naruto lead the group through the double doors to reveal an elite with an energy sword. Acting first Naruto leaped forward and speared the elite down the hall. "Go on" he called out stabbing a knife into the elite's neck killing him and throwing his arm up to activate the energy shield to block the elite's ally's plasma fire.
As he held the line in the hall the others continued on taking another path. Upon seeing the Spartans and troopers gone he pulled out a stun grenade and rolled it down the hall towards the firing enemies. A few seconds later it went off with a deafening sound allowing him to sprint forward and engage them in close combat.
Reaching an elite first he smashed his battle rifle across his face dropping him to the floor as he kicked a grunt's head through the hall's wall. Dropping his battle rifle on his back he pulled out his magnum and started firing at point blank at the Covenant troops leaving little chance for them to retaliate.
With the three Spartan's from before, Emile was behind cover adjusting his grenade launcher as Rosenda was drawing the attention of the wraith by firing her M73 LMG at it. With the emp function set he fired a round at it damaging it and stunning it as Thom fired a rocket launcher at it from behind destroying it.
"Sir, wraith has been destroyed" reported Emile as Rosenda did a quick check for any survivors.
