The metallic clang of their entry echoed off the colossal walls of Brainiac's ship, each footfall and gust of displaced air a tiny rebellion against the oppressive silence. Superman, a beacon of blue and red, led the way, his super-senses scanning for threats. Batman, a shadow draped in purpose, moved with practiced efficiency, his gaze darting from corridor to portal, every detail cataloged. Red Robin, nimble and quick, followed close behind, his staff held ready.

They had climbed, flown, navigated the labyrinthine passages, the artificial gravity shifting and churning beneath them, pushing them deeper into the heart of Brainiac's "collection." But the further they went, the more unsettling the atmosphere became - alien and somehow wrong.

Then they rounded a corner, and Red Robin stopped dead in his tracks, a strangled gasp escaping his lips.

"Oh no…" he whispered, his eyes wide with a mixture of dread and disbelief.

Before them stood Firestorm. His two minds, once locked in a perpetual battle, were now unified, the result a chilling, unwavering focus.

"Firestorm!" Batman barked, his voice edged with concern. "What happened to you?!"

Firestorm tilted his head, the movement unnatural and unsettling. "Brainiac unified our dueling minds. No longer divided, we think as one. We are… perfect." The voice, once a chaotic blend of Jason and Martin Stein, was now a single, chillingly calm tone.

Superman clenched his fists, his brow furrowed in concern. "He's YOUR walking bomb," he said, his eyes flicking between Firestorm and the two Gotham heroes. "How do we get past him?"

Before anyone could answer, Firestorm unleashed a volley of plasma bolts, searing the air where they had been moments before. Batman and Red Robin dove for cover, their enhanced agility saving them from certain incineration. Superman, never one to cower, shot forward to confront the fiery entity.

But Firestorm was faster than he anticipated. The hero dodged Superman's punch and grabbed his ankle, whirling him around with surprising speed. Meanwhile, from the shadows, a hulking, plant-like mass emerged. Swamp Thing, his eyes glowing with an eerie green light, grabbed Red Robin in his thick vines. Batman, momentarily distracted by the sight of his partner's struggles, was caught in a thorny grip as well.

The two Brainiac slaves, their eyes cold and blank, tossed the three heroes against a wall, sending them sprawling to the floor in a tangle of limbs.

"What th-?!" Red Robin gasped, his breath knocked out of him.

"Swamp Thing, too?!" Superman exclaimed, his frustration growing.

Firestorm landed beside Swamp Thing, his eyes burning with an unnatural light. "Brainiac has unlocked the Green's power. He has mastered the Firestorm Matrix. All knowledge will be subsumed under his collection."

The weight of the words settled like a stone. Brainiac. The collector of worlds, now controlling two of their own allies.

"I'll give Jason and the Professor a piece of my mind!" Red Robin said, his voice tight with anger and a hint of something else - recognition perhaps? He turned to his two allies, "You two deal with Swamp Thing!"

The two nodded, a silent understanding passing between them. Superman was already back on his feet, his fists clenched, a low growl rumbling in his chest. Batman, always calculating, scanned Swamp Thing's movements, looking for an opening.

Red Robin then walked up to the mind-controlled Firestorm, his movements fluid and confident despite his internal turmoil.

"Now this fight will be a piece of cake," Red Robin said, his voice laced with an almost mocking tone.

Firestorm tilted his head, the flames within him flickering slightly. "Why do you say that?"

Red Robin smirked, a flash of defiance in his eyes. "Fighting you will be like fighting Starfire!"

RED ROBIN VS FIRESTORM

The fight wasn't going to be easy. He knew Firestorm's capabilities, the destructive potential of his plasma and energy manipulation, but Red Robin also knew his own strengths. He couldn't go toe-to-toe with Firestorm in a raw power exchange. No, this was going to be a different battle, one of strategy and agility. He watched Firestorm carefully, anticipating every move, knowing he couldn't afford to let his guard down, not even for a second. The fate of the world, and his friends, rested on his shoulders, and he wouldn't fail them.

The fight began with a volley of plasma bolts, each one a searing streak of energy that would leave a nasty scar. Red Robin moved like a phantom, utilizing his agility, dodging the attacks with practiced ease. He somersaulted, flipped, and weaved through the fiery onslaught, a blur of red and black against the backdrop of the burning cityscape. He knew he needed to keep moving, to deny Firestorm a clear line of sight.

Firestorm, his movements still fluid despite lacking the emotional drive that Jason and Professor Stein usually provided, responded with a barrage of heat-based attacks. The air around them shimmered, the temperature escalating rapidly. Yet Red Robin managed to stay ahead, his speed and acrobatic prowess allowing him to avoid the worst of the heat.

He threw electrified batarangs, hoping to disrupt the energy cycle. The batarangs crackled where they hit Firestorm, causing the fiery figure to stagger a bit, but the effects were fleeting.

"You cannot hope to defeat me. Your tactics are…ineffective," Firestorm's mechanical voice declared, a touch of the controlled knowledge of Brainiac slipping through.

Red Robin grinned, never missing a beat. "Ineffective? I'm just getting started." He launched smoke pellets, filling the area with a thick, obscuring cloud. Firestorm's heat pushed some of the smoke away, but it still bought Red Robin precious seconds. He moved through the smokescreen with a fluidity that could only come from years of training, his movements silent and swift, completely at home in the chaos.

He materialized behind Firestorm, delivering a swift kick to the back of the knee. It wasn't intended to knock him down but rather to momentarily break his concentration and provide an opening. With a combination of acrobatics and gadgets, Red Robin kept the pressure up, forcing Firestorm onto the defensive. He was drawing upon everything he had learned from his time with Batman, the Teen Titans, and on his own.

He knew he couldn't win with sheer force, but with strategic attacks and a bit of luck, he could buy enough time. Time for what? He wasn't sure yet, but he knew that if he could keep Firestorm occupied, he would help give Superman and Batman the space they needed.

The fight was far from over, but Red Robin had found his rhythm. He was not just dodging the fire, he was dancing with it, a crimson devil taunting an inferno. He had to be more than a distraction. He needed to be the key to breaking Brainiac's hold. He just needed to find it.

His eyes caught a flicker, a microscopic anomaly in the energy field around Firestorm's chest. He remembered something Jason had once mentioned, something about a specific energy regulator…

He moved faster, more aggressively, using every trick he knew to get in close. He dodged a sweeping blast of heat, and with a desperate lunge, he reached the chest and attached a miniature EMP device he had modified specifically for this purpose. It was risky, but he had to try. The device pulsed and he felt a surge of energy ripple through Firestorm. The fiery form flickered, the mechanical voice stuttering.

Then, finally, he found its weak spot. The device had worked, destabilizing Brainiac's control over Firestorm. The fiery figure stumbled, the flames receding slightly. It was a long, but overall, Tim Drake defeated his mind-controlled foe. Firestorm fell to one knee, the light in his eyes returning to a mix of red and green, the faces of Jason and Professor Stein flickering.

RED ROBIN WINS!

"You and the professor will be back to normal soon... Promise..." Red Robin gasped, his chest heaving with exertion. Relief washed over him, but he knew they weren't out of the woods yet.

Meanwhile, Batman and Superman were keeping the mind-controlled Swamp Thing busy. The battle was a blur of green and black and red and blue. They used a combination of brute force and strategic attacks to knock the monster down. Exhausted but triumphant, they rejoined Red Robin.

"Good work, Drake," Batman grunted, his cape charred at the edges. He didn't need to say more. Red Robin knew it was high praise from the Dark Knight.

"He'll be back to normal soon," Red Robin promised, gesturing towards the now unconscious form of Firestorm. He looked up at Superman and Batman, his eyes filled with weary determination. "Now, what next?" The battle was far from over, but for now, they had won a small victory.

The mind-controlled Swamp Thing lumbered to his feet, vegetation and debris scattering from his immense form as he rose. His eyes, once pools of earthly wisdom, now glowed with a cold, alien light. Behind him, a legion of Betas materialized, their metallic bodies gleaming under the harsh artificial light of Brainiac's ship. They moved with a disconcerting uniformity, a silent wave of metallic potential, advancing towards the three heroes.

Superman, hovering just above the ground, cast a worried look towards his companions. "You have a plan?" he asked, a hint of urgency in his voice.

Red Robin, ever eager to reassure, glanced at Batman. "Bruce always has a plan! Right?" he exclaimed, his tone a mix of confidence and hopeful questioning.

Batman, his face grim, his eyes focused on the looming threat, said, "It's a work in progress. I might be able to restore them." He was referring to the mind-controlled Swamp Thing, the knocked-out Firestorm and, likely, others on the ship. This meant they weren't just fighting Brainiac's minions, they were fighting mind-controlled victims.

Without waiting for confirmation, Superman shot forward, unleashing twin beams of heat vision at the encroaching Betas. The crimson beams struck their metallic forms, but to Superman's surprise, the Betas merely raised their hands, deflecting the intense heat as though it were nothing more than a warm breeze.

"THAT's new," Superman said, his voice displaying his surprise as he shut off his heat vision.

Taking advantage of the distraction, Batman and Red Robin darted around the flanks of the Betas, quickly closing the distance to Swamp Thing. They launched themselves into a coordinated attack, a blur of motion, a human battering ram against the plant-based giant. They slammed into Swamp Thing, catching him off guard, their combined momentum briefly staggering the creature.

Swamp Thing, reasserting his control, retaliated, throwing a massive pod of mutated plant life at them. Batman and Red Robin leaped over the projectile, landing lightly before redirecting their momentum into a spinning kick, striking Swamp Thing squarely in his moss-covered face. He swung back with a vine-like arm, but Batman and Red Robin anticipated the attack, dodging with practiced ease.

Superman, having abandoned his fruitless assault on the Betas, rejoined the melee. He looked towards Batman, his brow furrowed with concern. "That's one nasty plant," he commented.

"Brainiac's adapting," Batman said, his voice tight.

Swamp Thing's voice, usually a deep rumble of nature, echoed with a cold, synthetic edge. "Adaptation is nature's way," he said, his tone devoid of his usual earthy resonance.

Red Robin, now dodging a flurry of thorny vines unleashed by Swamp Thing, yelled to Batman, "What's the plan, Bruce? Something a little less… smashy, perhaps?"

Batman, his eyes locked on the corrupted Swamp Thing, started his plan. "I can help him. Keep those Betas busy," he commanded, his attention shifting fully to the creature before him. Red Robin and Superman exchanged a quick glance, a silent understanding passing between them. They nodded, turning their attention to the Betas, engaging them in combat, buying Batman the time he needed.

Batman stood before Swamp Thing, his voice calm and even despite the chaotic scene. "Swamp Thing, hear me. Your power's being used against you! Against the Green!"

Swamp Thing remained unmoved. "Brainiac is now the Green's protector. It will live forever, preserved in his collection," he stated, his words laced with the cold logic of the alien intellect that had taken control.

BATMAN VS SWAMP THING

Swamp Thing was powerful, there was no doubt about it. But here, in this sterile, inorganic environment of Brainiac's ship, his strength was diminished. Oh, sure, Brainiac could make substances similar to the Green, but it was a pale imitation of the real thing. The artificial environment was not the true source of his power.

Batman, using his skill and strategy, managed to maneuver around Swamp Thing's attacks, dodging the lashing vines, evading the crushing force of his punches and legs. He used the limited environmental features to his advantage. He struck, dodged, and used his momentum to his advantage. He moved like a ghost, a predator in the confines of the ship, never allowing Swamp Thing's power to fully take hold of him. He fought with a precise efficiency, methodically beating the kudzu out of the plant creature.

Finally, after a brutal, prolonged exchange, a window opened in the corrupted creature's defenses. Batman managed to land a final, jarring strike, a pulse of energy directed straight into Swamp Thing's neural nexus, disrupting the alien's control over the creature's unique physiology.

Swamp Thing staggered back, his eyes flickering, the cold, alien light dimming in the moss-covered depths. He let out a low growl, a sound that was finally starting to sound more like how he used to be.

BATMAN WINS!

Breathing heavily, his body aching from impact, but confident in his progress, Batman said, "Now let's get you free." He knew that the fight wasn't over, not by a long shot, but they had made progress. They had a chance. And for Batman, that was enough. He just had to hope that Superman and Red Robin could hold off the Betas long enough for him to fix the problem.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the ship, Shazam awakens to find himself shackled with magic-fused cuffs to a table.

The room is cold and metallic, the air thick with the scent of technology and something else, something ancient and malevolent. His head spins with the last moments of his capture, a blur of green light and alien machinery. He tries to break free, but the cuffs hold firm, a silent testament to Brainiac's foresight and power.

Shazam struggles, his muscles straining against the unforgiving bonds. His eyes darted around the room, searching for any sign of weakness in his prison, any tool he could use. He's not alone. The room is filled with other prisoners, all similarly restrained. Hawkgirl, Solomon Grundy, Superboy and Wonder Girl were all there, their eyes glazed over with a disturbing emptiness.

"Funny, is it not?" Mister Mind finally appeared from the shadows, "The world's mightiest mortal, brought low by the very essence of his power. Brainiac has quite the knack for irony."

"Mister Mind?! What are you doing here?! What have you done to them?!" Shazam roared, his eyes wide with horror at the sight of his friends.

"Oh, I didn't do this to them, but I've had a...let's say, a guiding hand," Mister Mind said with a wormy grin. "You see, Brainiac has quite the collection of planets, worlds and powerful beings, and your little group of heroes and champions is quite the prize. He's been watching you, studying you, waiting for the perfect moment to acquire you."

"Why are you helping him?" Shazam demanded, his voice thunderous even in his restrained state.

"He and I made a deal," Mister Mind said, his voice a hissing whisper. "I provide the knowledge of magic and he provides the power to conquer. Together, we shall be unstoppable!"

"He's literally destroying the Earth! You can't be serious!" Shazam's fury grew with each word.

Mister Mind shrugged, his tiny frame seemingly unfazed by the hero's wrath. "To him, you're all just specimens. And I am his guide through the vast, mystical library of Earth's history and power. But fear not, young Billy, for I have not abandoned you entirely. I have a proposition."

Shazam's eyes narrowed. "What do you want?"

Mister Mind leaned closer, his tiny frame casting a long shadow across the room. "Ah, straight to the point. I like that. I want what I've always wanted, Billy - knowledge. Power. To understand the fabric of the universe. But unlike Brainiac, I don't wish to destroy. I wish to learn, to manipulate. To become the ultimate being. And you, my dear Shazam, are the key to unlocking the secrets of magic that have eluded me for millennia."

Shazam felt a shiver run down his spine. "What makes you think I'd ever help you?"

"In case you've forgotten, Brainiac has your beloved family and Fawcett City in his collection," Mister Mind sneered. "I can help you save them. In exchange for your cooperation."

"I'd rather die than help you," Shazam spat back, his fists clenched.

"Hpmh... No matter... I didn't expect you to come to your senses so quickly," Mister Mind retorted, his smile never wavering. "But fear not, I have other methods of persuasion."

The walls of the chamber began to pulse with an eerie light, and Shazam felt his powers being drained, siphoned off into some unknown abyss. His body convulsed against the cuffs, the very essence of his being wrenched from his core. It was agonizing, like a thousand knives slicing into his soul. The other people remained eerily still, their eyes flickering with the faintest signs of life.

Mister Mind hovered closer, his smile growing wider as he observed the pain etched on Shazam's face. "You see, Billy, your power is not just a gift from the gods, it's a piece of the very fabric of the universe itself. And Brainiac wants to dissect it, to understand it, to control it. And in doing so, he will understand all of creation. Your suffering will be a small price to pay for such knowledge. But fear not, I'm offering you an opportunity to save them. To save your world. To save your very essence!"

Shazam's eyes blazed with defiance. "I won't betray them! I won't betray the trust the wizard gave me!"

"Why not? You betrayed his trust before when you joined Superman's Regime," Mister Mind hissed, his voice a slithering echo in the cold chamber.

Shazam's eyes widened with horror and anger as the truth of Mister Mind's words sank in. The memory of that dark period was still raw, a stain on his otherwise heroic career. "That was different," he ground out through gritted teeth. "That was... for the greater good... We only wanted what was best for the world... But we were wrong!"

That was half-true as Superman and the others had claimed, especially ever since the Metropolis incident years ago but Shazam knew it was his fear that had led him to make that choice. Fear of losing his family, fear of being weak. He wouldn't let fear control him again. He took a deep breath and focused on the power within him, trying to remember the joy, the purity that came from his transformation. He began to murmur the incantation that could potentially save him and his friends.

"I may had joined Superman's Regime, but I had good intentions and only wanted to keep my family, my city and the Earth safe. Brainiac on the other hand is destroying the planet. At least Superman was trying to save it, albeit in the wrong way," Shazam said with conviction, his eyes glowing with determination.

"So be it..." Mister Mind then turned to the mind-controlled prisoners, "Hawkgirl, Solomon Grundy, Superboy, Wonder Girl... Deal with the intruders - Batman, Red Robin and Superman but keep Superman alive and bring him to me. He's Brainiac's."

The four of them, their eyes now snapping into focus, lunged towards the doorway as it slammed shut. Shazam's heart raced. He had to get free and warn the others before it was too late.

"Now, if you excuse me... I have a meeting with the alien overload himself," Mister Mind quivered with excitement as he floated away, leaving Shazam alone with his thoughts. The walls of the chamber hummed with power, and Shazam could feel his strength being drained. He knew he had to act fast.

The air in Brainiac's ship hung thick and heavy, a metallic tang mingling with the sickly sweet scent of ozone. Corpses of Beta robots, twisted wrecks of circuitry and mangled metal, littered the floor. Batman, grim and focused, knelt between the slumbering forms of Firestorm and Swamp Thing. The vibrant green of Swamp Thing clashed starkly with the nuclear glow emanating from Firestorm's containment suit.

Beside him, Red Robin nervously adjusted the straps of his uniform, the familiar weight of his staff a small comfort. Superman, his usually bright eyes shadowed with concern, stood guard, his gaze scanning the labyrinthine corridors of the alien vessel.

"Okay, Bruce, do your thing," Red Robin said, his voice barely above a whisper. The constant hum of the ship's engines felt like a malevolent heartbeat.

Batman raised the disruptor, a device cobbled together from Cyborg; a tech and his own designs. Its surface pulsed with a faint blue light. "It should disrupt their link with Brainiac," he said, his voice a low growl. "Sever the cord that allows him to control them."

He adjusted the settings, his fingers moving with practiced precision. He was about to activate it when a sound cut through the hum – footsteps. Measured, deliberate, and undeniably human.

They spun around, their faces etched with surprise and a dawning horror. Standing in the doorway, bathed in the harsh fluorescent light, were four figures they thought they knew. But something was profoundly wrong.

"Cassie?!" Red Robin gasped, his voice laced with disbelief. Standing there was Cassie Sandsmark, Wonder Girl. But her usual bright smile was replaced with a chillingly vacant expression. Her eyes, once full of vibrant energy, were now dull and lifeless, reflecting the cold, technological environment.

Batman's jaw tightened. "Solomon Grundy… Hawkgirl…?" He barely recognised them. Grundy, usually a shambling, mindless brute, stood with an unnatural stillness, his eyes gleaming with an unsettling intelligence. Hawkgirl, her vibrant Thanagarian wings clipped and drooping, held her Nth metal mace, its surface shimmering with a malevolent energy.

But the figure that truly struck fear into Superman's heart was the one standing slightly behind Hawkgirl. A figure that mirrored his own, yet was twisted, corrupted.

"C—Connor…?" Superman stammered, barely able to force the name past the lump in his throat. Superboy, his genetic son, his face pale and gaunt, stared back with eyes that held no recognition, no warmth. Only the chilling, empty gaze of a puppet.

Brainiac had turned their allies, their friends, their family against them.

Cassie stepped forward, her voice a hollow echo, devoid of any inflection. "Brainiac orders your assimilation. Resistance is futile."

Grundy lumbered behind her, muttering in a low, rhythmic drone, "Grundy… serve… Brainiac…"

Connor remained silent, yet his eyes burned with a cold fury, a mockery of the fire that once burned within him. He clenched his fists, and the air around him crackled with uncontrolled Kryptonian energy.

The air crackled with tension. Batman tightened his grip on the disruptor. Superman clenched his fists, his face a mask of anguish. Red Robin raised his staff, his breath coming in ragged gasps. They were trapped, surrounded by fallen allies, pawns in Brainiac's twisted game. They had to find a way to break Brainiac's control, to save their friends, even if it meant fighting them.

Superman looked at Superboy before turning to Batman and Red Robin, "I'll try to reach him," he said, his voice tight with emotion. "You two deal with the others."

Batman nodded, his own fear and anger hidden beneath his stoic mask. He knew they had to get to Brainiac, to put an end to this nightmare, but first, they had to deal with the monsters their friends had become.

Red Robin just gave him a warning glare, "Just don't punch out his new heart like you did with his old one, okay?"

"I won't- Wait... New heart?" Superman asked, unaware of what Batman and the others did while he was in prison.

"We'll explain later" Batman tells as he and Red Robin go up against Hawkgirl, Wonder Girl and Solomon Grundy.

The anti-hero in the red cape nodded as he walked up to Superboy, "Connor, remember who you are! Don't let him control you!" Superman pleaded, his voice filled with a mix of hope and desperation.

"Brainiac has given me life... Something YOU almost from me before sending me to the Phantom Zone," Superboy snarled, his eyes flashing with a mix of anger and betrayal. "Now I serve only him!"

Superman's heart sank, but he knew he had to keep trying. "You're better than this, Connor. You have the potential to be a hero, not a mindless drone!"

Superboy only scoffed at that, "You're one to talk! You're the one who sent me to the Phantom Zone to die!" His eyes went red, coated in a shimmering red heat vision. Superman lit his own eyes to deflect the blast, the room echoing with the sound of sizzling energy.

"I don't wanna hurt you, Connor, but you're giving me no choice!" Superman's voice was strained, the gravity of the situation weighing heavily upon him. He took a step back, preparing to use his full power to combat the brainwashed Superboy.

SUPERMAN VS SUPERBOY

The battle starts with Superman charging at Superboy, his fists balled up tightly. Superboy meets him with a speed that's almost unmatched, the two Kryptonians clashing with a ferocity that causes the very air around them to shake. Their punches resonate through the ship, a symphony of power and rage. Each blow is thrown with the force of a meteor, but it's the emotional weight behind them that truly hits home.

Superboy's strikes are fueled by the bitterness of abandonment, his fury a living thing, a manifestation of the pain Superman's choices had wrought. Superman's eyes are filled with the sorrow of regret, each block a silent apology for his past mistakes.

The two figures, so similar yet so far apart, dance a ballet of destruction across the metallic floor. The corridor they fight in is a blur of red and blue, the air crackling with their power. Each blow thrown is a silent plea for understanding, a hope that their bond can be restored.

Clark didn't want to hurt his sidekick like he did before, but the stakes were too high to hold back. Superboy, under Brainiac's control, had to be stopped. He had to find a way to reach Connor's core, to remind him of who he truly was. The battle was fierce, a dance of power and agility. Their movements were so fast, they could barely be followed by human eyes.

It was a long fight, but the bond between the two Kryptonians was stronger than any alien control. With every hit and counter, Superman talked to Superboy, trying to remind him of who he truly was. He spoke of their shared experiences, the lessons they'd learned together, and the hope they'd brought to those in need.

Finally, Superman brought Superboy to the ground with an uppercut.

SUPERMAN WINS!

"We'll get you out of Brainiac's control... I promise...," Superman panted, his voice strained but hopeful. Superboy, stunned by the sheer force of the blow, remained on the ground, his eyes flickering with a hint of doubt.

...

He then turned around and saw Batman and Red Robin dealing with Hawkgirl, Solomon Grundy and Wonder Girl. It was a gruesome sight. They fought with all their might, dodging and weaving around the mind-controlled heroes' attacks. Batman's fists clenched around his gauntlets, his eyes cold and calculating, searching for the perfect moment to strike.

Red Robin's staff crackled with energy as he parried Hawkgirl's mace, sparks flying as metal met metal. His eyes searched hers, looking for any glimmer of the friend he knew was trapped beneath Brainiac's influence. Meanwhile, Batman's grappling hook shot out, wrapping around Solomon Grundy's ankle and pulling him off balance. The giant toppled, giving Batman the opening he needed to deliver a swift kick to the side of his head.

Superman then joined them, "One-On-One..."

Batman and Red Robin, already weary from the relentless assault, saw the hope in Superman's eyes and knew what he was proposing. "One on one," Batman agreed, his voice a harsh whisper. They had to trust in the strength of their friendship and the bonds they had formed.

"I'll take on Wonder Girl..." Red Robin said firmly, his gaze never leaving the unnervingly calm young woman who had once been his friend. "Batman, you handle Hawkgirl and Grundy."

"I got Grundy," Superman tells the boy wonder before turning to the dark knight, "You got Hawkgirl"

"Alright," Batman nods, "Let's do this."

With a swift motion, Batman throws a batarang at Hawkgirl, aiming for her mace. The sharp edge slices through the air, but she catches it with ease, her reflexes still honed despite the alien influence. She twirls the weapon, the metal glinting in the harsh light, and swings it at Batman's head. He ducks just in time, the air displacing around him with a whoosh.

BATMAN VS HAWKGIRL

The battle between them starts with Batman's signature agility, dodging and weaving through Hawkgirl's powerful swipes and lunges. She moves with the grace of a hawk in flight, her mace cutting through the air with a sound that could make anyone's blood run cold. Her movements are swift and precise, a product of her Thanagarian warrior instincts combined with Brainiac's control.

Batman, on the other hand, moves like a shadow, his every step calculated and deliberate. He uses the environment to his advantage, leaping from wall to wall, using his grapnel gun to swing around and evade her attacks. Despite her speed and strength, he remains one step ahead, his eyes never leaving hers.

"Remember, Kendra, remember us," he says through gritted teeth, hoping that somewhere within her, the woman he knew was still fighting.

The battle is intense, Batman's cape billowing like a storm as he narrowly avoids the mace's deadly arc. Hawkgirl's eyes are cold, her movements mechanical, but there's something else there. A flicker of recognition? A hint of the fiery spirit that once burned so brightly within her?

Batman seizes the opportunity, throwing a smoke bomb at her feet. The room fills with a thick, choking fog, obscuring everything but the sound of their grunts and the clanging of metal on metal.

The smoke clears to reveal Hawkgirl, staggering, her grip on the mace weakened. Batman then gets his chance and delivers a kick to the side of her head, knocking her out of the fight. Red Robin watches, his heart racing, as he sees the hope in Batman's eyes.

BATMAN WINS!

"You'll be okay, soon... I promise," Batman murmured to the unconscious Hawkgirl as he quickly moved to assist Red Robin with Wonder Girl and Superman with Solomon Grundy.

...

Red Robin kept on fighting Wonder Girl, trying his best to break her free from Brainiac's control.

"Cassie," he called out, his voice strained, "It's me, Tim. Remember me, remember who you are. You don't have to do this."

Wonder Girl's eyes flickered for a brief moment, but the cold, vacant stare remained. She lunged at him, her Lasso of Truth swinging with a vicious grace. Red Robin barely dodged it, the rope's tip singeing his costume.

RED ROBIN VS WONDER GIRL

The battle starts with Red Robin's swift strikes and acrobatic evasions, trying to avoid the Lasso of Truth that could render him helpless. But every hit he lands feels like a betrayal to the friendship he once knew. Despite his efforts, she's relentless, her eyes cold and unyielding.

Red Robin uses his staff to block her lasso, the weapon wrapping around it with a hiss of friction. He pulls her closer, their faces inches apart. "You're stronger than this, Cassie," he whispers fiercely. "You're not just a weapon for Brainiac to wield."

Wonder Girl's eyes flicker again, this time with a hint of confusion. The Lasso of Truth tightens around the staff, but instead of pulling him closer, she stumbles, the connection to Brainiac's control wavering.

However, her eyes hardened once more, and she swung her Lasso of Truth with a newfound ferocity. The room was a whirlwind of combat, as Superman and Batman faced their own battles against the corrupted forms of Solomon Grundy and Superboy. Red Robin knew he had to end this quickly before it was too late.

Summoning every ounce of strength and speed he had, Red Robin spun his staff and managed to knock the Lasso from Wonder Girl's grasp. She stumbled back, giving him the opening he needed. He rushed in, whispering the counter-command that Batman had discovered during their research.

Finally, Wonder Girl was brought down.

RED ROBIN WINS!

"You'll be back to your cooler self, soon... I hope," Red Robin murmured to the unconscious Wonder Girl as he turned to assist Superman with Solomon Grundy.

...

Superman kept on fighting the big undead zombie, Solomon Grundy, with everything he had. The creature's strength was overwhelming, but Superman's speed and tactical prowess kept him in the game. Red Robin watched, his breath shallow, as Superman tried to reach out to the reformed villain within the monstrous form of their comrade.

"In this ship... Grundy will live forever... of the dead and living..." Grundy's deep, booming voice echoed through the chamber as he swung his mighty fists at Superman. The Man of Steel dodged and parried, searching for a way to free the tortured soul beneath the monstrous exterior.

"As a digital copy. It WON'T BE REAL!" Superman exclaimed, trying to reach through the haze of control.

"ALL nature is data! It can be stored with no loss of fidelity." Grundy's deep, booming voice echoed through the chamber, his words a chilling reminder of the fate that awaited them all if Brainiac's plan succeeded.

"That's Brainiac talking... Time to get him out of your head!" Superman's voice was a mix of anger and desperation as he watched his former regime servant struggle. Red Robin and Batman had managed to free Hawkgirl and Wonder Girl from the mind control, and now it was up to him to do the same for Solomon Grundy.

SUPERMAN VS SOLOMON GRUNDY

The fight between them starts with Superman's fierce determination, dodging and weaving through Solomon Grundy's heavy blows. He tries to get closer, to find the weak spot where Brainiac's control is weakest. The undead monster's swings are powerful, each one capable of shaking the very foundation of the ship.

"You were once a man, Cyrus," Superman calls out, trying to pierce through the fog of control. "You felt love, pain, regret... Don't let Brainiac rob you of that!"

Grundy's eyes flickered, his movements faltered, and the room grew eerily silent. For a moment, it seemed like Superman's words had reached the humanity buried deep within the monster.

However, that was proven false as Solomon Grundy's eyes blazed with a fierce green light, a sign of Brainiac's influence growing stronger. With a roar that seemed to shake the very fabric of the room, he swung his mighty fists towards Superman with a speed that belied his bulk. Superman leapfrogged over the onslaught, narrowly avoiding being crushed.

"Not today, Cyrus," Superman murmured as he flew into the air, surveying the battlefield. His mind raced, searching for a solution, a way to break the alien's hold on his friend.

The room grew quieter as the clanging of metal against metal echoed through the corridor. Red Robin and Batman watched with bated breath as Superman hovered above the ground, his cape fluttering in the breeze of their battle. The tension was palpable, the air charged with the anticipation of the final move.

Superman then shot towards Solomon Grundy, his fists blazing with solar energy. The impact was tremendous, the force sending a shockwave through the corridor. The room was bathed in a blinding light, and when it faded, they saw that the creature lay still, the green light in his eyes fading away.

Solomon Grundy was finally down.

SUPERMAN WINS!

"The dead and the living needs its REAL guardian" Superman said, his voice resonating through the silent chamber as he hovered over the unconscious Solomon Grundy. He hoped that somewhere, the man inside was hearing him.

...

Superman, Batman and Red Robin placed the knocked-out heroes aside, their bodies lying limp on the cold metal floor. The victory was bittersweet, knowing that their friends were still trapped within.

"You still have the Disrupter that Cyborg made for ya, right?" Red Robin asks.

Batman nodded, his grip on the disruptor firm, "Of course. Now, let's break them free"

The Dark Knight then draws the disruptor and fires it at them, a red beam of energy crackling through the air, aimed directly at the fallen heroes. The room vibrates as the disruptor's frequency resonates with the control signals emanating from Brainiac's core.

"Everyone's brain patterns are changing..." Superman had said, his brow furrowed in concentration as he scanned the group with his X-ray vision. "...But I can't tell what's happening to Solomon Grundy and Swamp Thing." The mystical nature of their existence, so intertwined with the earth's energies, seemed to cloak them from even Superman's penetrating gaze.

Batman ceased firing the disruptor, kneeling beside the dazed form of Firestorm. "Jason? Professor Stein?"

Firestorm, ever the pragmatic duality, was the first to fully coalesce. "Yeah...yeah. We're both here. What happened?"

Batman, his voice gruff and efficient, cut to the core of the matter. "Brainiac added a third mind to your head."

Firestorm's response was a sardonic, "Like we needed that."

Superboy, rubbing his head, chimed in, "Ouch…"

Superman, recognizing the opportunity to address old wounds, asked cautiously, "Connor, are yo-?"

Superboy cut him off, his voice laced with a potent blend of anger and hurt. "Okay? Well... Kinda... Still mad that you punched a hole in my old heart and left me and the other Teen Titans in the Phantom Zone..."

The weight of that past action hung heavy in the air. Superman visibly winced. "Ugh... I deserve that comment..."

Hawkgirl, never one to mince words, added fuel to the fire. "Man... And I thought being mind-controlled by Superman was bad enough..."

Superman, stung, retorted, "HEY!"

But Hawkgirl wouldn't relent. "You killed my husband!"

Superman's shoulders slumped. The guilt was a constant companion. He stopped himself from offering a defense, knowing that words were inadequate. "Point taken..."

Wonder Girl, looking around in confusion, broke the tense atmosphere. "Ouch... Tim Drake? W-What happen...?"

Red Robin, ever the strategist, quickly stepped in. "Brainiac kidnapped ya, Cassie…"

Wonder Girl's brow furrowed. "Now I remember... Connor and I were looking for recruits for the New Teen Titans ever since Bruce sent you on a mission."

A flicker of confusion crossed Red Robin's face. He remembered being killed by Zod; there was no mission from Batman. But then, understanding dawned. Batman, in his ever-present pragmatism, was likely trying to spare them the burden of reliving traumatic events.

Solomon Grundy, his movements slow and lumbering, sat up. "G-Grundy... Not... Home..." His simple declaration spoke volumes about the disorientation and violation he felt.

Swamp Thing, the Man-Thing's counterpart, rose with a primordial groan, his eyes burning with green intensity. "What IS this place?!"

Batman, ever focused on the task at hand, issued his orders, his voice leaving no room for argument. "Brainiac's ship. Firestorm will get you back on terra firma," He turns to Firestorm, "Report to Hal. He'll need help fighting Brainiac's suicide Betas," He then turns to Red Robin, Superboy, Wonder Girl, and Hawkgirl, "Report to Nightwing. He'll need help as well."

Wonder Girl's eyes widened. "Wait... Dick Grayson's alive?!" The news clearly took her by surprise.

The brief glimmer of hope in Wonder Girl's voice was quickly extinguished by Batman's urgency. "We'll explain everything later. Now go!"

Firestorm, ever ready for a battle, nodded. "Sounds like a job for Firestorm. Good luck!" He was already powering up, the telltale signs of nuclear fusion dancing around him.

Mister Mind was making his way to Brainiac, feeling a sense of urgency as his control over the heroes began to wane.

"Brainiac..." Mister Mind hissed to him.

"Ah, There you are Mister Mind, I thought you'd never get here." Brainiac's voice echoed through the ship, cold and emotionless.

Mister Mind nodded, "As you asked, the Wizard and his champion Billy Batson are in your thrall. And once Billy gives up the Earth's Magic to you, we will rule the planet"

"I'm sorry we?! "We will rule"?!" Brainiac's voice grew in volume and intensity, his eyes flashing with the glow of his internal circuitry.

"W-We were a team!" Mister Mind stuttered, his usual confidence wavering. "We had a deal!"

Brainiac scoffed as he walked towards the small worm, "Hmph! "We were a team." "We had a deal!" Hah! Teams are for the weak! Family is for the scared! The earth is my collection! And I do not like to share!"

Mister Mind felt a cold shiver run down his spine as he realized the colossal mistake he had made. He had underestimated Brainiac's ambition and greed. The alien had no intention of sharing power or keeping his promises.

"You... YOU BETRAYED ME!" Mister Mind's voice was a high-pitched screech that seemed to echo through the very core of the ship, his tiny frame quivering with rage.

"Actually, I barely even thought about you," Brainiac said dismissively. The room grew colder, his disdain for the worm palpable. "You were merely a tool to achieve what I could not with brute force alone."

"So... You only needed me for the Earth's Magic!" Mister Mind's voice was a mix of anger and fear.

"Of course... Grodd may have failed, but he was at least loyal to me. I truly would've rewarded him if he didn't... well, you know," Brainiac said with a hint of amusement.

Mister Mind was about to attack when the ground from below started to glow and then digitized into a swirl of pixels, as if being erased from existence.

"In the collection with the rest of the things I have gathered, silly little worm!" Brainiac sneered. "But fear not, for I shall collect something far greater than mere power. The very essence of the universe itself!" That was when the Wizard's Staff, also known as the Staff of the Gods, appeared in his hand.

...

Back with the adult Billy Batson in one of the prison chambers, he was still having his power drained by the magic-fused cuffed table he was strapped to. Shazam watched in horror, his body weakening by the second, unable to even struggle against the restraints.

However, that was when it stopped all of the sudden... And the table was turned off, with the cuffs releasing him from its torment.

Shazam took a deep breath, feeling the power surge back into his veins. "What's going on?" he managed to ask, his voice hoarse and weak.

The room's computerized voice responded, "Mister Mind, the one who authorized this torment is dead... As such... The subject has ceased to be a viable source for power extraction. The process has been terminated."

Shazam, now free, felt the warmth of his power return to him, the light of the Magic of Shazam rekindling within his soul. He looked around the room, his eyes narrowing in anger and determination. "You won't get away with this, Brainiac," he murmured, his voice gaining strength with each syllable.
