Chapter Thirty-Four

Meanwhile topside in Chicago, there was a high rise building that towered above most of the others in the city.

To the naked eye, one would just class it as a tall business building or even penthouse apartments, but to those on the wrong side of the law, it was home and business to the Chicago Outfit.

At the highest part of the building in a spacious and stylish office, Antonella Maria Luciano sat at a desk going over some papers.

She was looking over the reports of crime activity as well as names of those whom she had loaned money to and was looking to see who had paid, and who hadn't.

Antonella smirked, her brilliant white teeth shining behind her blood red lips.

"Quite a list…." she hissed "And many haven't paid back their debts, looks like my boys and ladies will have to pay another visit….." she tapped her perfectly manicured red finger nail on the desk as she continued to read her papers and hummed as she ticked off a list.

She then looked over at a news paper that was nearby which showed the photographs of Samuel and Alexandra.

'Tragic disappearance of couple baffles police.'

'After reports of gunfire and shouts were heard from the riverside of Chicago near an abandoned warehouse, the police were called to the scene of a bloodbath, near the river it was shown a massacre must have taken place, as wall as an abandoned hire car with a body of a young man inside.

After forensics took samples of the blood on the ground, it was confirmed that the DNA belonged to Texas born Samuel Ray Henry, a well known Fighter as well as an odd jobs man, known to the Texas Police in Corsicana for brawls and fights in retaliation for racism, and Alexandra Rose Brown, a British born registered Nurse from Alaska.

People are unsure of where the bodies may be, but there are assumptions they were taken by the killers and dumped elsewhere, as of now, police are searching the city for any trace of them so their grieving families may have a body to bury'

Antonella licked her lips.

"Oh Samuel." she said "When would you ever learn that it's dangerous business doing those underground fights, you never know who might be betting on you, or the other fighters, and when we don't get what we hope for, she took out her hair pin from her hair that was pinned up and stroked it as well as moved it so the light shone off it.

"People get hurt…" she then looked at Alexandra's photo and tutted.

"Awww, such a cute girl, yet you dragged her into your illegal activities, and she was holding the check…"

She chuckled as she thought of the check she had taken from their bodies as they had laid there bleeding on the ground.

"Plucked from their bleeding bodies." she laughed "It was a pity we had to do away with them so quickly, they did put up a fight, the nurse surprised me." she looked at Alexandra's photo again and traced it with her hairpin, the very same hairpin she had stabbed Jason with before confronting the couple.

"Well, you tried to fight back my dear, but sadly, it didn't save you, you should have left well alone, then maybe you and your nigger boyfriend would still be breathing…."

Just then a knock at the door made her look up and she shouted "Enter!"

At once a tall woman with black hair with blonde streaks in it as well as wearing a black suit opened the door and walked in.

"Ah Rosa." Antonella said "What news?"

Rosa nodded at her boss.

"Pardon the intrusion ma'am." she said "But there's something you should see."

Antonella frowned as she looked at her employee.

"Oh yes?" she asked in a curious voice "Please, show me." she gestured with her hand.

Rosa walked to the desk and picked up a TV remote before turning to a widescreen TV that was nearby.

"If I may, ma'am?" Rosa asked to which Antonella nodded in consent and Rosa turned on the TV which showed a news report station.

Antonella narrowed her eyes as she watched then she saw the police on the TV were apprehending the gang members Jun had attacked a few hours ago.

'Police were called to an electronics store by an anonymous caller, when they arrived, they found the four men beaten up as if they had been attacked before hand, investigations are underway to see who or what might have been responsible for this attack, but assumptions have been that the animal vigilantes that people claim to have seen were the ones who may have been responsible…."

As she watched, Antonella's face went red and she stood up.

"What is this!?" she demanded to which Rose flinched slightly but she spoke quickly.

"It would seem that our associates have been apprehended…." she said stating the obvious.

"I can see that…" Antonella said venomously "Yet, how is it possible?"

"We're not sure ma'am," Rosa said nervously, sweat appearing on her forehead "But we're looking into it as we speak."

Antonella glared yet she took a few deep breaths to calm down.

"I hope you find out," she hissed "I wish to find the one who failed!

"Rest assured ma'am, we will find out what happened, without fail." Rosa said.

Antonella narrowed her eyes.

"Good," she said "And when you do, bring them to me.…" she did the beckoning sign language with her index finger.

Rosa nodded.

"Will do Ma'am" she said.

"Thank you." Antonella said softly as she muted the TV and looked back at her papers.

Rosa watched her boss then decided to speak again.

"If I may ask ma'am, what were you going over?" she asked to which Antonella looked up.

"Looking over what moneys been collected as well as heists pulled off," she said "As well and finding those who still owe their debts." she smirked then she looked at the newspaper about Samuel and Alexandra's disappearance.

"And I'm also keeping up with the recent news about those individuals we offed recently…" she licked her lips.

Rosa frowned as she looked at the photos on the Newspaper and she frowned as she thought of how Alexandra had sprayed her in the eyes with her pepper spray.

"Ah yes, those two…" she hissed "A never forget a face, especially that bitch who sprayed me in the eyes! I still remember the stinging like only a few seconds ago, but boy did I enjoy emptying my lead into her!"

"Mmm yes." Antonella said "The bodies weren't at the crime scene when we left, apart from that fighter in their car…" she said.

"The streets can be crazy and unpredictable here ma'am." Rosa said "There's no telling what could have happened to them after we took care of them."

"Well from what I heard there are no reports of their bodies being taken by the police." Antonella said "My only guess is that the Van that tried to run us down, the occupants in that were responsible."

"Hmm," Rosa mused "Is this another issue you'd like for us to look into?"

Antonella nodded

"That would be wise." she said nodding "Talk to the others who were with us that night, and see what else you can find regarding that night, CCTV images, witnesses, anything."

"Got it ma'am." Rosa said bowing her head to Antonella "I'll take care of it."

"Thank you Rosa," Antonella said as she leaned back in her chair and twirled her hairpin.

Rosa turned to leave the room but Antonella spoke again.

".…And Rosa?" she said and the young woman stiffened a little before turning to look back at her boss.

"Ma'am?" she asked.

"Again, when you find those men failed us in the robbery, bring them to me." Antonella requested.

"Will do ma'am" Rosa said before leaving the room and closing the door behind her.

Once she was alone again, Antonella looked at her hairpin then swung her chair around to face the large window and looked out into the city.

"Hmmm." she said to herself "Since that night, I have often wondered who did take the bodies of that couple." she looked over the buildings below and saw the many landmarks in the Windy city.

"I have a hunch, after all the news reports and the witness accounts of those vigilantes, believed to be disguised as humanoid animals…." she frowned again as she looked at the city.

"A rather strong hunch, given how often when people go missing here, those vigilantes are connected to it, according to accounts of the other criminals, yet I need to be sure…." she looked again at the Newspaper "And I'm sure I will find answers soon…"

She licked her lips and narrowed her eyes.

"Hopefully those involved in the failed robbery will have answers."

Looks like Antonella is becoming aware of Jun's activities, yet she has no idea that it was Jun.

Keep checking back as Antonella will be making more apperances as the fic goes on!
