Chapter 10 The Hunter's Cabin
I am writing this entry from the werewolf village. I'm not sure what else I can really do at the moment, so I decided to pass the time by writing about how I got here.
Aaron and I waited until almost everyone in Brightport was asleep. Then, he headed to the hunter's cabin.
"This is the place", Aaron said as him and Aphmau got to the hunter's cabin. He then tried to open the front door, before letting out a frustrated sigh. "It's locked. If only Garroth was here."
"Why", Aphmau asked.
"He can break down any door no problem", Aaron replied. "Anyway. It looks like we're going to have to get through this door another way. Aphmau, hide by the side of the house."
I hid by the side of the hunter's cabin after Aaron told me to. After I did this, he suddenly knocked loudly on the door of the front door. He then hid with me as we heard footsteps coming from inside. A moment later, someone opened the door and began looking around.
Quietly but quickly, Aaron snuck up behind them. Then…he pushed them to the ground before grabbing onto my arm, pulling me into the cabin and locking the door.
"Hey", the owner of the house yelled from outside as he banged on the front door. "Let me back into my house!"
"We need to move", Aaron said. He then looked around, and saw a flight of stairs that went downwards. "There."
With this, Aaron grabbed onto Aphmau's wrist and led her down the flight of stairs. This led them to the basement of the hunter's cabin…which had a cell.
When Aaron and I found the cell in the hunter's cabin, I suddenly heard his breath hitch in his throat. I looked up at him, and saw that he had frozen up at whatever he saw in the cell.
I looked at it too, and saw two young boys with wolf ears and tails. One of them had white hair and golden eyes. The other one…looked like a mini Aaron.
"Aaron", Aphmau started. "That boy looks-"
Before Aphmau could finish her sentence, Aaron rushed up to the cell. When the children inside saw him, they moved back a bit and looked up at him in fear.
"Who are you", the boy that looked like him asked nervously.
"Wait a minute", the white haired boy said after sniffing Aaron. "You're a werewolf, mister!"
"I am", Aaron replied, before pulling off his hood to reveal his wolf ears. "Your friend John asked me to rescue you guys."
"I knew John would help us", the white haired boy said happily.
"Stand back", Aaron told the children, and they did as told. Then, Aaron pulled out his sword, and after a few powerful slashes, some of the bars of the cell came falling down.
"Wow", the white haired boy said in awe as him and his friend walked out of the cell. "That was so cool, mister! You broke through the bars just like that!"
"Are you okay", Aaron asked the children as he kneeled down in front of them. "They didn't hurt you, did they?"
"No, mister", the white haired boy replied. "We're okay!"
"Good", Aaron said with a sigh of relief.
After Aaron made sure the children were okay, he looked at the one who looked like him. Then…he put his hand in his cheek. Even though his eyes were covered, I could that he wanted to cry. This was also the first time I've ever seen him smile like this before.
After Aaron stared at the boy who looked like him for a few more seconds, he remembered the situation they were in and pulled his hand away before clearing his throat.
"Okay", he said before standing up. "We need to get you boys out of here. The problem is that the hunter has probably-"
As Aaron was talking, we suddenly heard a loud 'thud' come from upstairs. Followed by a bunch of angry voices.
"Sounds like they finally managed to break the door down", Aaron said. He then looked around the basement for a way out, and when his eyes landed on a window, he smiled. "I may not be good at breaking down doors, but I'm an expert on going through windows."
With this, Aaron went to the boys and hearded them behind Aphmau. "Stay back", he said. Then, he went up to the window, and smashed it with a high kick!
Aaron helped us all crawl through the window, which led to the back of the hunter's cabin. He then took the boys and held them in his arms.
"We should be able to make a break for the forest from here", he said. "Let's move it!"
