"Hurry up and get changed, you're all late!" I said looking at the remaining people in the locker room, with my eyes landing on a kid in green and a girl with orange hair. He has long black hair tied into a ponytail that ends midway down his back. A dark green, diagonally-buttoned, long-sleeved tailcoat that is red on the inside, with black and gold trimming and pink cuffs. The trimming went down the right side of his torso and forms a black collar. A black, long-sleeved shirt beneath the suit, and light-tan pants with black shoes.
The girl who is chatting with him, she had short orange hair and turquoise eyes. She was wearing a white sleeveless, with matching fingerless gloves on each hand. She sports a pink skirt that starts at the waist and ends mid-thigh. Her shoes are a mix of pink and white with pink laces.
"I know! We'll have some sort of signal! Like a distress signal! A secret signal so we can find each other in the forest! Can you imitate a sloth?" She asked, making me sigh at how much of an idiot she was.
"Nora." He called her name as he picked up his pair of green automatic pistols with attached blades.
"Yes, Ren?" The now named Nora said as she smiled at him.
Ren put his pistols inside the sleeves, impressing me that he was able to hide them there. "I don't think sloths make a lot of noise."
Nora's eyes rolls left to right in confusion. "That's why it's perfect! No one will suspect we're working together." She said, with me rolling my eyes at her.
"Come on Nora, let's go." Ren said as he closed the locker before walking, with Nora following him.
"But not together, together." Nora said before she giggled little.
They went passed by Ruby and Yang while they're getting the weapon from the locker. "Wonder what those two were so worked up about." Ruby said as she opened her locker and getting her Crescent Rose.
"Oh, who knows… So! You seem awfully chipper this morning." Yang said while combing her hair.
"Yep! No more awkward small talk or getting to know you stuff." Ruby said before hugging her weapon and petting it. "Today I get to let my sweetheart do the talking."
"Well, remember Ruby, you're not the only one going through initiation. If you want to grow up, you're going to have to meet new people and learn to work together." Yang said, with me walking over to them.
"It's about teamwork with new people." I said, with them looking at me, then at the other.
"Dakota gets it. You gotta learn teamwork, just with new people." Yang said, crossing her arms.
Ruby scoffed at that. "You sound like a dad." She said, rolling her eyes at them.
"So, Dakota. Will you be getting a team replacement?" Ruby asked, with me shaking my head at her.
"Ridiculous! There's no way I put my gear in locker room 636 yesterday. I would've remembered having to count that high! Why does this have to happen today?" Jaune whined as he walked past us.
"Jaune! If you head straight over there, your locker number should be there, now get moving or you're going to be late!" I told Jaune who started rushing towards the locker.
Walking away from the girls at they started walking with Jaune to help him out. I stopped as I took notice of both Weiss and one Pyrrha Nikos. "So, Pyrrha, have you given any thought to who's team you would like to be on? I'm sure everyone must be eager to unite with such a strong, well-known individual, such as yourself." Weiss asked, playing it cool.
"Hmm… I'm not quite sure." Pyrrha said, haven't given a thought about making a team. She closed her locker before she sees Dakota right beside her. "Hello!" She said, waving her hand at him.
"Pyrrha, hurry up, and don't be late." I said, crossing my arms.
"Wait, Dakota! How do you know her?!" She asked, confusing me.
"From her fights. It isn't like I was born yesterday." I said, shocking Weiss with my comment. I shook my head as she was shocked by what I had just said. "If it makes you feel any better, she is also on the cover of some cereal box." I said, with Jaune moving over to us.
"That's you?! They only do that for star athletes and cartoon characters!" Jaune said with a small gasp.
"Yeah, it was pretty cool. Sadly, the cereal isn't very good for you." Pyrrha said as she looked away, looking sheepish.
"All first year students please report to Beacon Cliff for initiation? Again, all first-year students report to Beacon Cliff immediately." Glynda said through the announcement, with me sighing as now everyone as late.
Later
"For years you have trained to become warriors." Ozpin said, with me standing next to Glynda, holding a tablet in my hand, facing the first years. "And today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest." Ozpin said with Glynda taking a step forward.
"Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of teams. Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given teammates… Today." She said, shocking some of them.
"These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon. So it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well." Ozpin said as Ruby whined. "That being said, the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next 4 years." Ozpin said, shocking them again.
"What!?" Ruby yelled, being the only one to speak her mind.
"After you've partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path, or you will die." Ozpin said where Jaune gave a nervous laugh before gulped it.
"You will be monitored and graded for the duration of your initiation. But our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one, and return to the top of the cliff. We will regard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately." Ozpin said, finished explaining to the first-year students. "Are there any question?"
Jaune's hand is raised. "Yeah…uhh, sir."
"Good! Now, take your positions." Ozpin began as the students are moving into their battle position.
"So, this landing strategy thing, uh, what is it? You're, like, dropping us off or something?" Jaune asked, with me pressing a button, sending one of them through the air, where I continued the process.
"No. You will be falling." Ozpin answered.
"So, did you hand out parachutes for?" Jaune asked.
"No. You will be using your own landing strategy."
"What exactly is a landing strategyyy!" Jaune screamed before I launched him, seeing that he was the last one.
"He's not ready." I said, with Glynda nodding as we looked at the flying kids.
Later
'There's Ruby.' I thought, seeing her on camera.
"Yang! Yang!" Ruby yelled as she rushed through the forest to look for Yang. At that moment, Ruby saw Weiss right in front of her as she cane to a stop. She stopped so hard as she can, trying not to bump her this time like she did it yesterday. Weiss turned around at her and stared into her eyes.
It was very quiet silent between them, but, Weiss turned away from Ruby and walked the other direction.
"Wait! Where are you going? We're supposed to be teammates…" Ruby frowned for not getting her as a partner.
Weiss walked away, having a hard time moving through the bushes. As she's out of the bushes, she heard a voice from above.
"Come you stupid urg… come on agh!" Jaune said, stuck in the tree and trying to take out the red spear that was from Pyrrha. He looked down and sees Weiss is on the ground. She walked away from him and back the way she came.
Weiss turned away from him and head back to the same place where Ruby was. She grabbed Ruby's hood and dragged her with her. "By no means does this make us friends." Weiss said, annoyed with the younger girl.
"You came back!" Ruby cried happily, raising her arms in the air at getting Weiss as a partner.
Moving over to another camera, I watched Jaune, who was still stuck in the tree. "Hey, wait! Come back! Who's gonna get me down from here!?" He yelled, with me rolling my eyes as another person came into view.
"Jaune?" Pyrrha asked, where Jaune looked down when he heard a voice. "Do you… have any spots left on your team?" Pyrrha asked, smiling up at him.
"Very funny." Jaune scoffed as he crossed his arms.
Later
"What's the hurry?" Ruby asked trying to keep up with Weiss.
"I will not let my mission be delayed because you're too slow. I swear if I get a bad grade because of your-"
Ruby dashed in front of her with pure speed. Her eyes didn't even catch her from behind. "I'm not slow see? You don't have to worry about me!"
Weiss turned her head back and forward. She didn't see Ruby back there. "When did-"
"Weiss, just because I don't exactly know how to deal with people doesn't mean I don't know how to deal with monsters. You're about to see a whole different side of me today, Weiss." Ruby said as she wrapped her arm around Weiss like a buddy. "And after it's all over, you're gonna be like "Wow! That Ruby girl is really, really cool… and I want to be her friend." Ruby said, showing her a new point of view, one that was rejected.
After that was done, Ruby vanished and left Weiss alone. "You may be fast, but you still excel at wasting time." Weiss called out, thinking this is a game before she hears a cracking noise again. She thought it was Ruby, but the noise didn't sound like her. "Ruby!" Weiss screamed as she saw a Beowolf.
With the staff, and Dakota
'Weiss just let her guard down in a Grimm infested forest.' I thought with a sigh. "Some of them are not ready, they have a LOT to improve in." I said, with Glynda nodding her head as she agreed with me.
"In time, but for now, just watch." Ozpin said, with me looking back at the cameras, already hateing having to do this.
