Subaru after... not so elegantly having his guts spill out of him yet still being fine, had slept in the carriage on the way to the mansion and just began to open his eyes

"I don't recognize this ceiling"

He was laying in the most comfy bed he's ever slept in, damn this bed was soft but the most interesting part was the fact that his guts were no longer spilling out of his stomach

"Jeez there isn't even a scar anymore, I'm guessing some kind of healing magic was used on me? To be honest that's not even what I should be worrying about considering all these pop ups..."

Over to Subarus side were displayed all of the damn pop ups that appeared infront of him last night

" jeez I'm gonna have to sort through all of these..."

Subaru sighs as he silently mutter "Status"

As Subaru presses the "yes" option the pop up lit up a red color as in an error

"Ah, how could I forget about these stupid requirement... oh well I might as well see which ones I can get..."

"Sigh... in the end I could only get hand to hand combat and mana condensation... oh well it's not like I'm very OP yet, but I'll get there in the future, might as well save these pop ups for later though, I should really get out of here"

Subaru for the first time actually got up from a bed and went outside of his room a real shocker

"Dang whoever lives here must really like that painting"

Said Subaru referring to the same exact painting he's been seeing for the last 7 times

"Or actually isn't this one of those looping hallways? Well usually the answer to these puzzles is by opening the first... door?"

he suddenly noticed something about the door he was about to open it had two strange sensations coming from it, the first was a weird connection and the second was some kind of odd ethereal presence, though thats not gonna stop him from opening the door of course

Which led to a gigantic library with a... loli? Sitting in the center of the room? Though looking at this loli felt weird for some reason... don't take that out of context...

"First NPC Found!"

Said Subaru stupidly as he entered, I honestly don't know why that would be anyone's first reaction though he did feel something odd from who was infront of him, though she did reply to his comment just now

"What a profoundly aggravating man you are kashira"

Her face seemed to be perpetually pissed off which Subaru thankfully picked up on and stopped teasing her

"So, sorry for entering your room I guess but do you know where I am?"

[Maybe you should use your eyes master]

"Hmph, since you have shown that you can apologize Betty will grace you with a response kashira"

She coughs into her hand choosing to ignore the annoyed look on the intruders face before she continues

"This is Betty's multi purpose room, which serves as a library and a bedroom kashira"

Not exactly the answer Subaru was looking for but it was good enough as he looked around the library

Though "Betty" was getting a bit tired of this disrespectful human invading her room without asking, as such she stood up and began approaching him menacingly, which subaru got put on guard

"Betty has had enough of you Kashira, it's time to teach you a lesson"

"Woah there, what do you plan on doing to me?"

We're the words coming out of his mouth until said drill loli began absolutely frying this boy making him scream

[Warning, your mana is being rapidly drained]

'yeah... thanks captain obvious...'

After Betty was done draining Subarus mana and to her satisfaction he didn't have enough to be a threat to mansion but... he seemed to be just fine and still standing? He did have a pained expression on his face though

"You are still standing kashira, Betty is intrigued, when you arrived at this mansion your own intestines were spilling out of you yet you walked inside as if you couldn't feel pain and the wound wasn't serious, and now you come to my room on the first try your wound completely healed without a scar and you can remain standing after having your mana drained..."

She looked up at him with an odd expression almost seeming like... longing? Nah that couldn't be right

"Betty has an interest in you kashira, stay here for now so that Betty may analyze you"

And as such Subaru simply sat down on a nearby chair as "betty" fumbled with her black book and looking through every page with a complex expression until she simply closed the book and looked straight at him

"Betty may not know who or what you are, or if anyone sent you... but she is still a little bit intrigued so just stay for now"

Let's go I finally got a new chapter out and would you look at that? A little bit over a thousand words, looking good if I do say so myself, i just Hope i didn't make any typos
