Fire of the Rebellion

Chapter 47: Not Giving Up

On Yavin 4, the Arcturus arrived and landed safely within the base on one of the ancient temples.

Even though the two of them were safe from Darth Vader's wrath, both Nadia and Lisa were equally worried about Ferus.

He did sacrifice himself so that they could escape.

RG-G1 let out a beep as Lisa gave Nadia a apologetic expression.

"Aunt Nadia, I am so sorry about Uncle Ferus."Lisa apologised with a hint of shame."If I stayed behind and help him fight Vader-"

Nadia lifted up her hand to pause Lisa from finishing her sentence.

"Lisa, don't blame yourself. It was not your fault."Nadia instructed with a firm tone."Ferus knows how much valuable you are to the Empire and the last thing he would ever want is something bad to happen to you."

"But what exactly can I do now?"Lisa questioned sadly."I am no longer Queen of Naboo and it won't be long now that I'll be branded as a traitor to my home planet."

Nadia placed her hands on Lisa's shoulders.

"The people would never hate you, Lisa. You don't really need to have rank or power to help the rebellion. Things are different now and it clearly means you'll have to be now trained in the ways of the Force to fight back against the Empire."Nadia exclaimed before a small yet confident smile sprung on her face."The Emperor knows as me and your uncle that if Anakin were to have any offspring, one day with the Force on their side, they would be a threat to him. You have more power than you realise. Don't think. And don't worry. If the time comes, you'll know what to do. It's in your blood."

Nadia gave Lisa a small hug before walking away with RG-G1 to head to the strategy center which was a communications and planning center within the temple.

Lisa silently brought her attention on her lightsaber that was clipped on her belt on the right hip before picking it up to look at it.

The eighteen year old girl became lost in her thoughts as she thought about her childhood.

Her birth parents Anakin and Padmé had left the galaxy when she was just a newborn infant, but she had her Aunt Sola and Uncle Darred to raise her alongside her cousins, Ryoo and Pooja.

Besides that, she had memories of her maternal grandparents; Ruwee and Jobal.

Even aged 10 or 11, Lisa understood their holiday getaways was to escape their everyday surroundings and obligations and for them to check in with who she was and who she was becoming.

During the afternoons, they would listening closely to her stories of school and friends.

She felt safe by them and was grateful for everything they have done for her.

Though Lisa knew now she didn't hold the title of Naboo's elected monarch, she had to now focus on her new destiny.

Becoming a Jedi Knight and help the Rebellion defeat the Empire.

Ferus was in pain.

Terrible pain.

He had survived the mental probe of interrogator droids and being electrocuted by the torture.

Even if he was injected with the truth syrup by an IT-O Interrogator droid, he kept his mouth shut and refused to reveal the secret base of the Rebel Base.

His vision was fuzzy and had a headache from the tortures he was given, the Jedi Knight knew he was attached in a interrogation chair.

But he had a feeling he wasn't in Coruscant anymore.

He was in a prison cell in a place that was likely in space.

The sound of the door of the prison cell he was held in suddenly opened, revealing a dark silhouette of a man and a familiar mechanical breathing sound was heard in the background.

Darth Vader walked over the unconscious form of Ferus, pick up a glass of water that was on the table nearby and splashed the water into the Jedi Knight's face.

Ferus gasped at the sudden chill and quickly shook his head to regain his consciousness.

He then looked up to see the haunting mask of Darth Vader staring down at him.

"You're still breathing despite the various tortures you were given, Ferus."Darth Vader said with a hint of twisted amusement.

"The Force gives me all I need, Anakin."Ferus muttered.

Ferus groaned in pain when he suddenly got electrocuted by one of the interrogator droids.

"Don't address me by that name."Darth Vader retorted coldly.

"The galaxy is on the brink of civil war."Ferus declared with a glare."Ironically, inspired by the sacrifice of your secret apprentice. Your Empire won't survive the millions of voices that will be fighting against it."

"Don't delude yourself, Ferus."Darth Vader scoffed."Besides getting rid of the Rebellion, I would like to know the whereabouts of Lisa Skywalker."

"Do you really think you could convince her to join you?"Ferus snarled."What would your Master think of that?"

The second sentence caught the Sith Lord's attention, alertness in his next question.

"What did you tell her?"Darth Vader asked.

Despite the aching pain in his body, Ferus gave a weak smirk.

"What she needed to know."Ferus replied.

Darth Vader didn't respond.

At least, he didn't respond with words.

Instead the Sith Lord rammed his fist into Ferus' gut.

Ferus gasped as the wind was knocked out of his lungs as his coughed up some blood which dropped onto the floor.

He felt Darth Vader's anger towering him.

"I have enough of your bickering."Darth Vader informed in a sharp cold tone."You will now tell me everything you know about my daughter or you will learn the upper limits of the human capacity for pain."

Ferus didn't respond and silently glared at Darth Vader.

Gwendolyn stood gazing at the sun setting in the jungle wilderness of Yavin 4, thinking about her father who was in now in hands of Darth Vader.

No one who was a prisoner at the hands of the infamous Dark Lord ever escaped, none were ever shown mercy or clemency.

Indeed, Darth Vader's reputation as an interrogator was well known throughout the galaxy.

If he wanted information, he would obtain it by whatever means necessary, even if it meant torture to the point of death.

The young brunette closed her eyes as she clasped her hands together, silently praying that her father will survive Darth Vader's wrath.

Gwendolyn's ruby red eyes stared at the sunset, feeling a small sense of peace despite the growing fear in her heart.

"I can't focus on the negative. My father is still alive."Gwendolyn thought, struggling not to cry."We will get him back. I know we will."

Nadia and Zachary slowly appeared and went in between Gwendolyn to hold her hands in comfort while RG-G1 slowly beeped as he went next to them.

They would get Ferus back.

For the sake of the Rebellion and their family, they had to.

On the Death Star, Darth Vader sat perfectly still in his chamber after he finished interrogating Ferus for the day.

His mind was a jumble of violent and chaotic emotions.

The joy that the thought that Lisa was indeed his daughter was tainted with the anger that he had been lied to.

Angry at Darth Sidious for lying to him about his child dying alongside Padmé after using the Force to choke her on Mustafar.

Angry at Ferus and Nadia for hiding his daughter away from him.

Then again, Lisa Skywalker was a serious enemy of the Empire.

A Rebel.

She had been clever hiding herself and her loyalty to the Rebellion under the guise of Naboo's elected Queen.

The blessed child that his beloved Padmé had carried so lovingly and was excited to raise in Naboo with him.

The child that had been conceived in such love and undying devotion.

The thought of his wife still caused him tremendous pain.

Even almost nineteen years after her death.

Lisa was the very image of Padmé.

So much like her in her intelligence and political talents.

And her smile was like his angel's too.

Though his daughter's dark blonde hair was the exact colour his was when he was a small boy living in Tatooine.

So obviously, there was a bit of Anakin Skywalker in her too.

Especially, since she was so strong in the Force.

But he won't reveal to Darth Sidious of her existence just yet.

He had to wait and watch when his daughter will make her next move as well as obey whatever his master told him to do at the same time.

Perhaps, using Ferus as bait to lure her into a trap?

Of course, he would have to plan it out carefully.

"She is my child and I will have what is rightfully mine."Darth Vader thought with a stern tone."She can run all she wants. But she cannot hide from me."

We're getting close to A New Hope.

See you all in the next chapter and have a wonderful day!
