Chapter 2: The Dark Prophecy
I knew it now, how should I respond? I've already insulted them. Wait, the Night Wing must be Moon, and she can read my thoughts, um, that means she's listening right now, should I stop thinking? I wonder if it hurts her brain to hear people think, does it? Thought Cherry
"Yes, it does hurt a bit," said Moon, "But it would hurt less if you could get this off of me."
"Oh, right, sorry, I enchant this stick to turn to dust," Cherry said, and heard Cliff whimper
"Thank you, now listen to this," said Moon, and took a deep breath.
"A queen once feared, a ruler once lost,
Bound herself in chains of power.
Her will forged an age of silence,
Her madness sealed the skies.
Yet magic lingers where wishes bloom,
A single spark shall break the past.
When the winds cry and shadows rise,
The prisoner shall take her throne once more.
To fight, to flee, to bind again—
The choice shall fall to one of flame.
She alone will wield the power
To end the storm or call it home."
"Ok WHAT!" said Cherry. "Did you just have a prophecy about Queen Solara?"
"Ha, I told you I was right," said Moon. "I did read it in a book,"
"Whatever, we should focus on not having more impending doom," replied Qibli
"I was still right, but I'm not going to go on about it, so in that scroll it said, she made it so she couldn't die of old age, then she got paranoid and she stopped all animus magic for the sky kingdom, but other kingdoms had it and she copied Darkstalker and locked herself up, and there's a guard who feeds her every day,"
"Okay, did not know about the guard," said Cherry
"I know guard mommy has me meet lady with the guard sometimes," Cliff added
"Oh, can you tell us where?" asked Cherry
"I show them if you no come," said Cliff, and made Cherry go up to her room
I wish I didn't have animus power. Cliffs is afraid of me. I'm in a porophacy. I'm probably going to be banished, and Queen Sloara is going to be let out. What if I make myself able to read minds, then I can look into Cliff's mind and see what he would need me to do, Cherry thought, and got up to do it, but stopped as she remembered animus magic makes you lose your mind, what if I'm loesing my mind right now that's why I thought of that, Cherry thought
When Solstice came in, "You ok, you don't look good," he said
"It's just you know how animus magic can make you lose your mind?" she asked
"Yes," he said, sitting down next to her and letting her lean into his shoulder
"I had a thought that what if I made myself able to read minds, then I could read Cliff's mind,"
"And figure out how to fix things," Solstice finished. "That makes sense, I don't think you're losing your mind, I think it's just now someone who was like a son to you is afraid of you, I would probably think the same thing."
"Thanks, but I don't see Cliff. Where is he?"
"Oh, I left him with Moon. He thinks it's cool she can see the future and read minds."
"Ok, I was worried for a second. Anyways, what happened in there?" asked Cherry
"Well, we found the guard and he was just preparing the meal for Solara, and he said he'd take us down,' she rarely gets voilent, just show you're not a threat, ' he said, 'and stay behind me, she trusts me because for years I'm the only one she talks to.' We all listened, but as we walked down, the air got thicker and it felt like the shadow where closing in and prickles were going down our spines. We finally arrived and saw that Queen Solara was about as big as Queen Ruby. Turns out, she put another spell on herself that made her not get bigger no matter what. We asked her questions like. Do you want to take over the kingdom? Do you wanna kill all other Sky Wing animus dragons? And was there a time limit on your spell? Of course, she answered with a grunt and kept eating her food. The only thing she ever said was, 'Who are these dragons? I don't trust them!' until the guard explained all that we had told him," said Solstice
"Wow, that's a lot," said Cherry when Cliff popped his head up and said
"I'm still hungry," to Solstice and ignoring Cherry
"I have to go," Solstice said gently, getting up. "Bye."
"UP," screamed Cliff. He usually does that to me, thought Cherry with a twinge of sadness, now he doesn't care for me.
