And we have another chapter, which wasn't as much of a hassle to get done as I already had the fight stuff planned out but couldn't fit into the last chapter. That was a big time saver for me as I got two chapters for 2 stories to work on tomorrow. Also, I want to say this now since people have been asking, but I'm very much sticking to the anime depiction of Bakugan, more specifically, the dub, as that was both the more popular of the story and the reason the franchise didn't die young and also because I watched that. I will not be using any of the stuff from the games. I'm sticking with the stuff I know best.
Also, I've watched the first two episodes of MHA Vigilantes and 100 Girlfriends and am planning on watching the new Gundam series. I really enjoyed Witch from Mercury, so if they bring that level of talent and passion, I know it'll be great.
Chapter 11: Water vs Water
"Strength? Is that all you care for?" He asked, though he already knew the answer as he pulled out his gauntlet and strapped it to his forearm. "If you want to see true strength, then allow me to humble you, Mylene."
"You serious?" Mylene laughed at the demand but pulled out her battle gauntlet all the same. Spectre was being too slow. If this Zero character could be bested by Volt, then she would have no issue with it. Well, I can't turn down the chance to capture that Sirenoid from you and put her to good use."
Zero shifted, his head moving like a water cobra about to strike. "You'll find that to be harder than picking off those weaker than you."
With things set, the two brawlers quickly made their way down. Mylene rode her ship and got off it while Zero leaped from pillar to pillar, landing in a perfect crouch before he stood to his full height. The two found themselves in a clearing, with rocky outcrops around them, small waterfalls cascading down them and filling the many streams that dotted the place. Between the two Aquos brawlers was a large pool of crystal-clear water.
Zero was reaching for his activation card when Elfin spoke up. "Wow, before you start, don't ya wanna scan me?"
Zero turned his head over to his shoulder, where she sat. "Are you sure about that?" He already had Bakugan that could battle, and Sirenoid seemed eager for this.
"She's messing with the Bakugan under my care, so I'm totally gonna a piece of her for it," Elfin replied, as she wouldn't just sit back and let them fight this battle. Maybe she was still on the fence about joining them, but she had no qualms with working with him now if it meant they could set that witch packing.
"Very well." Zero agreed, his gauntlet Bakugan scan port shooting out, and when she sat on it, the machine did its thing before presenting her battle details from her power level, ability card, and even something he hadn't thought possible for a Bakugan. "Impressive, I would have never guessed you had such stats."
Elfin waddled in a way that indicated she might be blushing a bit. "If you think I'm all that, you should see Preyas; he and I are like two peas in a pod." She noted, though their talk didn't go unheard by their opponent, whose gaze narrowed in on Elfin.
'Preyas? There's only one Bakugan with that name. If she could tell us where he's hiding…' This could turn out to be a major boon for her. Not only was this a chance to capture Zero and learn more about him and his connection to the 6, but she also had a chance to obtain a Bakugo, who also seemed to know something about the missing Aquos. 'Knowledge and a chance to gain a powerful Bakugan, it seems like today's my lucky day.'
"Apologies for the delay, but let's get started, shall we?" Zero called out, holding his activation card at the ready.
"That eager to lose, are we?" Mylene asked, holding her own activation.
"Believe what you wish; it will be through battle we'll see who is left to drown." Zero retorted as he slotted in his activation card, the same as Mylene.
"Gauntlet, power strike!" Both called out as the battle began, Zero making the first move.
"Gate card, set!" Zero threw a card towards the middle of the large pool of water, where, instead of sinking, it landed perfectly on the surface before activating, encompassing the entire field. "Bakugan, brawl!" Next came his Bakugan as Zero threw her into place; like his card, she landed on the water but didn't sink or instead bounced and landed like it was solid ground.
"Bakugan stand, Aquos Sirenoid!" At his call, Sirenoid transformed into her true form in a bright blue light, her lyre held at the ready as she glared towards their vestal opponent, one who seemed to be the worst one yet.
Mylene didn't flinch as she returned Sirenoid's heated glare with a cruel smirk. "So that's the Sirenoid I've heard about; she'll make a wonderful addition to my Bakugan."
"Anyone can talk the talk, but can you back up your claims, Vestal?" Sirenoid retorted, to which Mylene's smirk grew more confident as he reached for one of her Bakugan.
"Bakugan, brawl!" Mylene yelled as she threw her Bakugan onto the water, and much like Sirenoid, they bounced over it like it was solid ground. "Bakugan, stand! Rise Aquos Abis Omega!" Where Sirenoid was a mermaid, Abis Omega was a long, twisting blue snake Bakugan, with fins across his body and diamond patterns the color of the water they were battling atop.
"Oh, this would be a fun time, little mermaid." Abis Omega noted as both brawlers glanced at their gauntlets and saw that Sirenoid was the stronger of the two, with 400 to Abis Omega's 350Gs.
"I don't have time for your games," Sirenoid replied as Mylene pulled out an ability card.
"Then we'll make his quick Ability Activate! Dry World!" At her command, the pool of water beneath the two Bakugan exploded, clouding the area in mist.
"Why'd she do that? Not like mist can hurt Sirenoid." Elfin asked, wondering if this vestal lady was as smart as she thought she was. Zero and Sirenoid didn't buy much, keeping their guard up as they looked around, only for Sirenoid to see it first and gasp.
When the mist cleared, Zero and Elfin could see why, as the pond was bone dry, and Mylene stood across from them confidently. "It wasn't just a mist show, little Bakugan. With dry world active, all the water is eliminated or becomes the exclusive domain Abis Omega. That means you can't use any Aquos abilities."
Mylene's words were mirrored in their power levels, as Sirenoid lost half her power, which in turn was transferred to Abis Omega, who immediately went on the attack, putting Sirenoid on the back foot with such a difference in power.
"This is bad," Sirenoid called, as it became harder to dodge the sphere of water that Abis Omega was residing in.
"Time for damage control, gate card, open! Positive Delta!" Zero pointed towards the field, which started to glow as his gate card went into effect, and Abis Omega immediately felt its effects.
"What is this?" The water serpent asked as he felt…slower than he had been.
"A simple gate card, really. All you need to know is that it subtracts 200Gs from any opposing Bakugan of the Pyrus, Aquos, and Haos attributes." Zero explained, as Mylene raised an eyebrow, looked at her gauntlet, and saw that Zero was right; however, while Abis Omega was weaker, he was still far stronger than Sirenoid.
"Impressive, but in the end, it won't save you." She mocked.
"Take this!" Her Bakugan proved her point when he finally managed to land a solid strike on Sirenoid, sending her careening into the dry lakebed, the impact enough to defeat her as Sirenoid reverted back to ball form and landed at Zero's feet.
"As expected, for someone who talks such a big game, I thought you'd pack more of a bite." Mylene insulted him as his life points dropped by 150 points.
Kneeling to pick up his defeated Bakugan, Elfin couldn't detect any fear or anger in Zero's response; it was just as confident as he had been from the start. "You speak as if you've already won,"
"Haven't I?" Mylene asked as she threw down her gate card, taking the initiative this time around.
"Bakugan, brawl!" Mylene called as she threw another Bakugan onto the field. "Bakugan, stand! Aquos Stug!" Taking to the field was a crab-like Bakugan with some dangerously sharp pincers.
"Come one, Zero, let me in!" Elfin turned to Zero, begging to get into this before anything could go wrong.
"Not yet, Elfin. But I promise you, you'll get your chance," Zero replied as he held up Sirenoid. "Ready for some payback, Sirenoid."
"Of course." She replied as she folded, ready to get into the action.
"Bakugan, brawl!" Zero threw her onto the field. "Bakugan, stand! Rise, Aquos Sirenoid!" Once again, Sirenoid took her true form, but her power level matched the opponents this time.
"Oh, they've even been at the power level this time. Well, let's change up the board, shall we?" Mylene asked as she had already pulled out a second Bakugan. "Bakugan, brawl!, Bakugan, stand! Aquos Clawcer!" Much like the first she sent out, Mylene's second Bakugan was crab-like, but where the first was the type that seemingly used sea shells as shells, this one had its own, with one claw being far larger than the other.
"Two on one?" Zero asked as Sirenoid faced down the two Bakugan, both types she had been forced to battle in the past, but these two seemed much stronger than those other ones.
"This won't take long. In a moment, this victory, and your Bakugan will be mine. Ability card, activate! Power Merge!" Mylene slotted in another ability card, which caused beams of light to shoot out of her two Bakugan's eyes and strike Sirenoid, who held back the scream of pain as she felt her power being drained once more.
"Power Merge is an ability that allows both Stug and Clawcer to steal 100Gs from all opposing Bakugan's power levels," Mylene explained as Elfin saw that things had been bad before, as Sirenoid had a power level 400Gs lower with two Bakugan on the field. Still, now it was a difference of 600! If Zero lost this, that was that!
"Oh no, she's going to get her clocked cleaned!" Elfin cried, but Sirenoid didn't seem worried. While in pain, she kept her posture, and Zero did the same.
Under the mask, Lelouch smiled. He had been cautious after that Dry World stunt, and it seemed like that had been the right play. "It pays to keep a cool head, as that's how you know when to be risky and when to be cautious, Ability card, activate! Vital Neptune!"
"I'll take back what you took from me and then some." Sirenoid took a relieved breath of air as she felt her power rising, higher than it had been at the start. Now, her opponents were weakened, cutting the difference in power between the two sides from the massive 600Gs it had been to just 200. It seemed like it would be a repeat of the first round, but Sirenoid turned to her brawler. "But that's not all there is, is there?"
Having already pulled him out, Zero nodded towards her while Mylene watched. "Why, of course, my songstress of the deep. Having your face back alone would be rude, Bakugan, brawl!" Zero called out as he sent another Bakugan into the fray, but it wasn't Elfin, but instead someone with much more experience.
"Bakugan, stand! Show them how the elders do battle, Aquos Juggernoid!" The massive turtle took to the field with a groaning roar, his bulk making him the largest creature, having more mass than their two opponents combined.
"Gladly," Juggernoid replied, as it had been a while since he battled; even during Zero's training with the others, he mainly used Sirenoid. This would be a good time to stretch his legs.
His presence on the field gave Zero the advantage, as his side's combined power shot up to 930Gs, 130Gs higher than Mylene's, but he wasn't done; he pulled out another card.
"Ability card, activate! Depth Tornado!" Zero slotted in another ability card, allowing Juggernoid to levitate, folding his legs back before he started to spin, picking up speed as water formed beneath it, spiraling out in all directions creating a massive whirlpool that crashed into their opponents who Aquos they might be, couldn't keep their footing as they sucked into, where Sirenoid lay in wait.
"There is no escape, little crustaceans." Sirenoid strung her lyre, and from which, several orbs of Aquos energy formed. Pulling on another string sent them hurtling toward their foes with punishing force that took both out.
"What's the matter, Mylene?" Zero asked as his two Bakugan returned to his hands while hers rolled towards her in defeat. "Where is that arrogance you were so boldly expressing?"
"Oh, I'm still going to win, but I can't deny that a challenge always makes victory all the sweeter." Mylene retorted, though he could detect a hint of irritation in her words.
"This seems weird," Baron said, worried about Zero. It had been 20 minutes since he was supposed to check-in, and yet nothing had come through.
Ace crossed his arms, similarly worried for him, though not being as open about it. "You're telling me, I mean, I don't like the guy and his mask, but he doesn't seem like the sort to forget to check in." He would assume that he bailed on them, but that didn't seem to fit, especially when he already had a target on his back after his stunt in Beta.
On the monitor, they saw Mira's face as she rode along. Their leader focused more on her surroundings than the call. "I'm already on my way there; just keep me in!" She gasped at something she saw.
"What's wrong?" Ace asked.
"It looks like there's a Bakugan battle happening," Mira replied. On her end, she saw what looked to be a patch of forest in the distance, and shining out from it was a bright blue light that couldn't just be some natural occurrence.
"But who could be all the way out here?" Baron asked, though Ace immediately knew the answer.
"It has to be the Vexos, Zero must have run into one of them!" He slammed his fist into the council, they should have seen this coming. They had managed to track them down once, but who could say they couldn't find them again? There was no way Zero could last on his own, maybe against something like Lync and Shadow if he let his craziness get the better of him, but anyone else worse if it was something like Spectre?
"I'll get there as soon as I can. You two stay put. There could be more!" Mira replied as she pushed her bike to its fastest, a destination in mind, and her gauntlet ready for use.
"Bakugan, brawl!" Zero called out, throwing his Bakugan right back into the battle. "Bakugan, stand! Aquos Sirenoid!" As she manifested and made ready for another round, Mylene smiled. Right as she did so, the skies started to darken, as if a storm had blown in in but moments.
"A storm? Now?" Zero asked, as this seemed odd even for this alien world. Was it another effect of Bakugan being restricted to balls? Mylene didn't seem to care as she pulled out something new, an odd-shaped Bakugan that floated next to her.
"I summon trap Bakugan, Aquo Tripod Theta!" she called out. Instead of flying towards the field, the Bakugan was sent straight up into the storm clouds, where it burst into blue light before crashing down cloaked in lightning, causing steam and mist to form.
As those things faded, they could see its form, and it was massive, so much so that even Brontes. Much like Brontes, it was humanoid shaped, enough so that Zero could picture this being what an ancient Sea God would take the form of, armed with a trident staff and three large concrete triangles to protect his chest from harm.
"A trap Bakugan?" Zero asked as that was a new term to him. Whatever it was, it was dangerous and needed to be treated as such.
"What the heck is that?" Elfin asked as Sirenoid remained silent. She understood the situation much like her human and was on guard.
Mylene continued smiling at their reactions, as this would be the first time she had displayed such force after receiving the trap Bakugan. "Tripod Theta is a powerful ancient Bakugan long thought extinct, but thanks to Vestal science, we've revived him as a trap Bakugan."
"Revived?" Zero asked, as that seemed impossible. Was this similar to C.C.'s immortality, or was it some sort of resurrection of an extinct species rather than an individual? Even then, such a feat of science seemed fantastical, akin to Frankenstein's monster, only much more refined.
"Wait, so you bug him up and made him into that?" Elfin put it much less elegantly.
Mylene scoffed at the notion, but they could all see how little she cared for whatever ethical concerns such an act brought, both to create and to use. "As if I would do such menial manual labor, but I would be a fool to ignore the benefits."
"You…you would dare disrespect the dead like that? Truly, you're nothing more than a vile witch." Sirenoid declared as she thought she had heard and experienced the worst of Vestals and their impact on her world and people, but this…this was a new extreme.
"Say what you wish; it won't change things." Mylene's smile grew malevolent as she pulled out an Ability card and slotted it into her gauntlet. "Darkus Ability activate! Life Ripple!" With the ability active, Tripod Theta raised his trident, one of its tips glowing purple from the water. Two shapes formed, resembling two things that Zero and his Bakugan knew well.
"Darkus?" The masked man was more concerned about the ability's attribute, as brawlers didn't just switch out such things and certainly never used different attributes Bakugan in battle. But he had seen the light when Tripod Theta took to the field; it was an unmistakable blue, the same as any Aquos Bakugan. Was it the same as Elfin? What were the odds of two similar-powered Bakugan sharing a battle like this?
"What trickery is this?" Sirenoid demanded, holding her lyre ready as she looked at the ghostly figures of the two Bakugan, which she and Juggernoid had just defeated.
"It looks like we're in a ghost story," Elfin commented, a little creeped out by the sight of the two spirits who seemed so real yet, no, notedly not. It scared her off.
"Be on guard, Sirenoid." Zero advised.
"I always am." Sirenoid kept her attention on the three before her.
Mylene placed a hand on her hip, smirking at the trio, who seemed so lost. "Tripod Theta has the power of Aqous, Ventus, and Darkus attributes. With its darkus powers, I've revived the energy bodies of the two Bakugan you defeated."
"We've defeated them once; we'll do so again!" Sirenoid shifted and placed her lyre, creating several balls of Aquos energy, just like the last match, and sent them towards the Trap Bakugan, reasoning that if he went down, the illusions or summons or whatever Mylene wished to call them would do as well.
Only for those balls of energy to crash into an invisible shield, shattering like a glass against rock. "What the-" Sirenoid gasped.
"What gives? He should be paste!" Elfin called out. That attack had been perfect, so why didn't it work?
"Not with a power level of that," Zero looked towards his gauntlet, and inside his helmet, he frowned when he saw the power difference. It had been 350 for this Trap Bakugan, which meant Sirenoid was the stronger of the two, but as soon as Mylene used that ability, along with the energy constructs, Theta's power had gone up 200.
"Finally noticed? Energy bodies feed Tripod's power; for each one on the field, he gains an additional 100Gs." Mylene explained as the power difference now stood at 150G in her favor. "And just to make that clear, Ability Activate! Power Merge!" Tripod aimed his trident towards Sirenoid before the tool shot out, stretching and nearly impaling Sirenoid, but while she escaped what could have been a fatal strike, she still screamed as her power was drained from her.
Zero pulled out an ability card to try and reverse this."Ability-!"
"Ability activate: Octo-Whip!" Mylene beat him to it as she activated an ability that had giant writhing tentacles shoot out from beneath Tripod Theta and make a break for Zero, who only had mere moments to move out of the way, to still get struck and flung into one of the giant mushrooms which dotted the edges of the
"Zero! Elfin!" Sirenoid called out, reaching out to them but pinned to the water's surface, unable to dive to try and escape before she was engulfed in a giant cyclone of roaring water.
"Now you are all mine, Sirenoid. You will serve the Vexos." Mylene declared, as this would be her victory, only for Sirenoid to let out a roar and swing her hand, smashing through the cyclone before she aimed her lyre at the trident holding her and smashed it into it, shattering the weapon and, at last, freeing herself.
The sight of this threw Mylene for a loop. "What? But…how"
"Looks like…" She and Sirenoid turned to see Zero, soaked and slumped against the giant mushroom. He tightly held onto Elfin in his one hand, having protected her from the worst of that attack.
However, Mylene's attention went to his gantlet, which was still glowing thanks to an ability card. Zero let out a pained cough, feeling like something had been broken by that, but he was still in this. "I was able to get it off in the nick of time…"
It took some effort, but he lifted his forearm and showed his gauntlet. "Ripple Shield. It's an ability that subtracts 400Gs from your opponent, good thing too…" Mylene's eyes widened in shock before she looked towards her own and saw that he was truthful. He had activated his ability before she could block any further abilities with Octo-whip."
Sirenoid immediately moved to his side, her large hand reaching for him but stopping short as she didn't wish to bring him further discomfort. In fact, she was amazed he was still awake after such an impact as he wasn't like her; he, presumable other humans and vestals, weren't nearly as resilient as Bakugan. It took much less to knock them down, and it took far longer for most to get back up, and Zero wasn't what anyone would call peak human conditioning; he had admitted as such when he noted the Baron, years his junior, was in better shape.
"Zero, but…but why?" She asked as Zero coughed, his mask hiding anymore, and he chuckled as if the situation was funny.
"Because I made a vow to see the Bakugan free once more…" Sirenoid recalled that night when she had first met him. How she learned why he was there. "I knew that meant putting it all on the line; it's only fair…"
Elfin wiggled out of his hands to try and rouse him. "Hey, stay with us; you gotta stay awake!"
"Don't worry about me…I can still battle." Zero uttered, though his response was labored. He carried hints of pain as he slowly got up, needing to support himself on the mushroom.
"In that condition?" Mylene cocked an eyebrow.
"Sirenoid." Zero ordered as Sirenoid returned her attention to the battle.
"Say no more!" Sirenoid didn't play her lyre much as she used it as a hammer, slamming it into the side of Tripod Theta's head, the Bakugan letting out a groan of pain before he was defeated, and with it, his projections as well, with Mylene taking another hit to her life points.
As Sirenoid returned to Zero's hands, Elfin watched the two as the Bakugan asked about her brawler's condition and how he assured her he could keep going. 'Just what is up with these two? He took that to the face, and he's still willing to fight?'
"Well, I will say this, you're one persistent little bug," Mylene noted but pulled out another card. "But that doesn't mean I'm letting you off easy, gat card, set!" She cast another card onto the field before reaching for one of her Bakugan.
"Bakugan, brawl! Rise Abis Omega!" Once more, the giant serpent took to the field, cackling when it saw Zero's condition.
"I know your game, but you think…you're winning," If Zero was insulted or irritated by the Bakugan's laughter, he didn't show it, though he couldn't hide how much it took for him to remain standing as he gripped Sirenoid's ball tightly in his hand. "You're sorely mistaken."
"Bakugan…brawl!" His throw was pathetic, lacking most of the strength of his previous ones, but it did the job and sent Sirenoid into battle. "Bakugan, stand. Let's wrap this up, Sirenoid." When she formed, she had no words for her opponents. Her focus remained on defeating them as fast as possible.
"Bakugan, brawl!" Mylene, however, wouldn't play by those rules as she sought to capture Sirenoid and, thus, needed a little extra power. "Bakugan, stand, get in there, Clawcer." With the crab taking to the field again, her side's combined power rose to 750Gs, far higher than Sirenoid alone.
"I'll match that…" Zero didn't reach for Elfin, even as she urged. Instead, he offered her a reminder that she was to be their ace and went for his other Bakugan. "Bakugan, brawl!" Zero seemed like it was a strain to use his arm, to which Elfin realized it must have been because when he grabbed her, he had made sure he hit that mushroom and probably shoulder and back first. "Juggernoid…"
So, too, did Juggernoid take to the field without a word. The elder was concerned for his brawler and knew he needed to wrap this up quirk and get in contact with the resistance. 'Though it'll be a challenge for them not to see his face should he need someone to patch him up.' Juggernoid kept those thoughts to himself.
"You want this to end? That is something we can agree on, Bakugan, brawl!" Mylene only added to the pressure by sending her trap Bakugan into the skies. "Aquos Tripod Theta!" Once more, the Bakugan came crashing down in lightning, its form imposing and silent, bumping up their power to a jaw-dropping 1100Gs without a single ability.
"Oh no, that's a pretty big power difference, Zero!" Elfin called out.
"And it's about to get even larger. Ability Card, activate! Power Merge!" Mylene activated the ability for the 3rd time, only this time it was cast by all three of her Bakugan when the beams hit them; Juggernoid and Sirenoid both hunkered down and braved through the pain, which was seeing them zapped of nearly all their strength.
"Oh boy, this doesn't feel good at all," Jugggernoid grumbled as it became hard for him to stand.
"I'm getting tired of this trick, Vestal." Sirenoid focused on her disdain for her people's situation and for the person before them who embodied that. Elfin started panicking as Juggernoid and Sirenoid had 730Gs before this; now they stood at a measly 130Gs, and Mylene's Bakugan took all that stolen power to boast themselves up to 1700Gs!
"Ability Activate! Devora Anthemusa…!" Zero didn't waste time no matter how much he wanted to take a long nap. "Let's get…some of that stolen power back…" Zero leaned more on the mushroom, his legs feeling weak as Sirenoid started to string her harp and sing, the effects reaching the entire field as Mylene's ability was nullified, and what's more, Sirenoid gained an additional 300Gs, boasting them 1030Gs.
"It's not enough!" Elfin noted that even with Mylene's Bakugan's power dropping back to base, it was still a little higher.
"I know…" she turned to Zero, wondering if he was insane or hit his head too hard, only to see him eyeing her. "Which is why it's time for you to shine….Ready…to make her regret…messing with your…forest…?"
Elfin didn't even need time to think as she folded up and got ready. "Born ready. And to pay her back for roughing you up!"
"Bakugan, brawl!" Grasping her, Zero put as much power as he could into his non-dominant arm and threw Elfin into the field. "Bakugan…stand…show them what you got, Aquos Elfin!" When she landed, she took to the battle in a completely unique way. She took her true form in a show of bubbles and flashy lights akin to a magical girl's transformation.
"Sun, wind, and rain combined," Elfin started, twirling about before she posed, pointing towards their 3 enemy Bakugan. "It's time for a major but-kicking from Aquos Elfin, and she's not about to let you run away!"
"So she finally enters the fray? It'll just mean that I can finally claim her and your Sirenoid. Ability Activate! Dry World!" Mylene activated it, and once again, the field was hit with an instant heat flash, which left it dry and barren, with all the water forming around Abis Omega, pushing the difference in power from a paltry 70 to 270Gs."
"Oh, let's repeat our first round, shall we?" Abis Omega laughed.
"Nope, I have other things in mind, and they involve getting you out of here; attribute change, Darkus!" Elfin jumped up, her bully glowing as she was encased in glowing purple light, shifting her from her natural Aquos into the Darkus attribute.
"She can change attributes as well?" Mylene asked, annoyed by this development.
"And…dry world…has no…effect on…her now, Ability activate!, Moon Rainbow!" Zero called out as the night overtook the dark skies, with a bright, ominous crescent moon dominating.
"Thanks for the power boast; I'll be sure to put it to good use," Elfin winked as all the power that Abis Omega had just gained was transferred to her, strengthening their already massive power advantage by over 500Gs.
"Impressive for weaklings, but it won't be enough. Gate card, open! Forcement!" Mylene called out, her gate card shining bright as Zero's Bakugan stopped, on guard but slightly confused.
"Forcement? But I don't feel any different." Juggernoid noted as Sirenoid, and Elfin both agreed with that.
"You don't, but this gate card adds 100Gs to all my Bakugan for each opposing Bakugan on the field," Mylene told them, with Sirenoid near cursing under her breath.
"Wait, but if they're 3 of us-" Elfin started, doing the math in her head.
"That's right, this battle is mine." Mylene declared as she turned their numbers against them, adding 900Gs to her Bakugan's total power level, bringing it up to an astonishing 2000Gs, giving her more than enough power to crush them all.
"Now take them!" She ordered as her Bakugan moved to attack, Sirenoid bracing for it, as it would be a sure defeat, but the difference in power was too small for them to be taken by the Vestal. Elfin also bit her lip but refused to move as she'll stand with them, for the Bakugan and for the brawler that seemed to care.
"Double…Ability activate, Subterra Reaction…" Elfin didn't look a gift horse in the mouth. It immediately aimed her ability at Abis Omega, who wasn't the strongest but sure as heck was the biggest threat.
"Why would be-wait-!" Mylene realized why they would so that with that effect, Abis Omega's ability lost effect, returning water to the battlefield.
"And…Dive Mirage." Zero gasped, his vision blurring as Sirenoid let out a groaning roar before diving into the newly returning water, the effect being immediate as Mylene's Gate card was nullified, dropping their power down to just 1100Gs, well below theirs as Sirenoid, taking the chance given to her, reached for her lyre's strings, getting ready to play the final act and end this.
"Ability Activate, Depth Tornado!" "Mylene moved as quick as she could, aiming the ability at her Tripod Theta, whose power level went up another 100Gs, but it wouldn't win the math, just prevent the worst outcome.
As Sirenoid played a quirk note, a massive wave formed before her enemies and crashed into them, drowning them and leaving them all knocked out of the battle, their loss dropping Mylene's life points to nothing, winning the path.
Zero remained conscious to see that, and with victory secured, his head dipped as he passed out.
