The sky of hyrule was always filled with something, be it a fairy or a cuckoo spreading its wings. There was always something happening. Above the clouds, a bright light fell from the sky and split into two. One shot of twoards the east and the other the west, separated for now but never forever.

"Look! A shooting star!" A man said, looking up from the dusty gerudo desert. The sand has calmed down, leaving the sky exposed for all to see.

"That...that's getting a bit close, don't you think?" The other man said next to him. The star at lit up his face as it crashed a few miles past the Bazaar,"Holy Hylia!" He yelled as the ground shook for a moment.

"Gabe..don't you do it," the dark skinned glared at his twin.

Gabe froze, looked at his brother and pushed the coconut he had in his hand into Abes, then took off.

"GABE AT LEAST TAKE YOUR SWORD!" his twin was already running out the bazaar and into the freezing desert,"that idiot is going to get himself killed!" Abe dropped the half drunk fruit and grabbed their weapons. Following his twins trail about a mile out into the desert, Abe eventually caught up,out of breath and annoyed,"im...I'm going to-fuck I'm out of breath."

"Dude, look, it's a kid." Gabe looked into the massive pit. In the center of it all was what looked to be a small child,"you think they fell from the sky?"

"What I think! Is that you need to be more aware of your surroundings!" Abe knocked an arrow and shot a dead bokoblin in the skull,"we can't say out here for long. The dead are restless. "

"Right,Hey, we got some rope, right?" He asked, digging through their shared satchel,"nice,I'm going to tie this up to that rock! You watch my butt. "

"Yea- Wait! Are you insane!? You don't know if that even IS a kid,it could very well be some new type of monster. Calamity Ganon cooked up!" He reasoned, pushing his cornrows out his face he got to work on easing down into the massive crator in the sand. The closer he got, the more he could see the kid was pitch black, like they was made out of ink, or maybe someone had dumped him into ink?

Grabbing them, Gabe rugged on the rope as his twin quickly pulled them up and out of the sand.

"Are they dead?"

"Nah just unconscious, come on let's get out of here" he could feel that whatever dark stuff was on this kids body was sticky, like tar,"We need to wash this stuff off this kid when we get the chance"

"Should I go get some ice then and start up a bath? We can't throw them into the oasis,it might taint the water. "

"Yeah,I'll help too, man. This kid weighs like nothing at all,"

"Hm," Abe dropped off all their things back at the small set up they had outside the inn,"I'll see if we can't get Shaillu to let us use her bathroom" Abe left the injured child to his brother and stepped into the arrow shop,"Shaillu! There's an emergency!"

The gerudo woman put her book down immediately and came around the corner,"What happened? Is someone hurt?!"

"We don't really know, this kid was out in the desert and they're covered in this awful, sticky tar stuff" Abe motioned for her to get a few healing balms,"We need a place to wash it off without infecting the water source.

"I see. If you can handle them, I'll start up a bath."

Gabe, by now, had tried to clean away most of the tar from their face. He could see they had pale skin with the tiniest of freckles scattered across their face. Gabe patted them down and tried to find where skin stopped and clothing began. He eventually managed to pull away as much clothing as he could leaving, what he assumed, the young boy in nothing but the torn leotard. The sandles he had were torn, fur falling off and turning to ash. The odd laurel crown had shattered into several pieces as well, the only thing of salvage was the scarf with a heavy ruby pin attached to it.

"You're a pretty tough kid," Gabe pittied him, a fire wizzrob must have gotten to him or something, burn scars littered his back. He winced at the dark bruises that litter his body, he must have broken some bones,"lets get you inside" as gently as he could,"what the-" there was something large stuck to his back and it felt weird,"we really need to get you all cleaned up" Gabe hurried inside where Shaillu had ready drawn a bath.

"In here,by the goddess, what is this?" She'd never seen anything like this in the desert before!

"We aren't sure, but it's best to wear gloves, just in case," Abe said, digging through one of the med kits and handing her a pair.

"Let's get this stuff off him," she slipped the gloves on and gently started to scrub the tar off his face. Now that there was warm water, it easily came off, revealing a youthful, boyish face. She got under his neck and in his ears then moved onto hair.

"I need a cup,I don't want to dunk him underwater."

"Gotcha." Gabe had gone and grabbed one from the kitchen and tossed it to her.

"Thank you, I can handle it from here, you two rest for the time.

"Are you sure?" Abe asked, pushed his cornrows out of his face again.

"Positive,I'll let you know if I need any help."

"If you say so,"

Shaillu didn't need anyone hovering over her while she worked.

Once alone, she sighed and sat the boy up, resting him over her thigh she dumped more warm water over the two massive clumps on his back and was throughly shocked at what she'd found. Specks of white started to peek through and eventually gave birth to feathers that were a brilliant white.

"What in Hylias name are you?" She looked at his face. It was mostly hylian, but he had no pointy ears. Was he a cross between a Rrito and Hylian, perhaps? She'd have to ask him when he wakes.

After washing the murky ink off his body, she drained it one last time and dried him off she then scooped him up and carried him out to one of the beds and gently placed him down.

"We made a Healing elixir, but you shouldn't give him the entier bottle," Abe said handed her the vial of red liquid,"I'm really not sure how much to give children" elixirs were extremely strong and should never be given to children in one sitting.

"Thank you, I'll call a doctor from Gerudo in the morning. Are you staying till then?"

Before this kid had fallen out the sky they were getting ready to cross the desert back twoards hyrule castle,"We still have a long hike, so I think we're going to go and head out" Aba said, digging for some rupees,"This should cover that kids stay for atleast a few days"

"Don't worry about it. I would never charge a child, especially one this injured,"

"So I guess we're leaving then?" Gabe yawned,"Tell that kid to stay safe for us!"

"You sure you don't want to stay?"

"Got a long walk ahead of us. Who knows, maybe we'll see each other again when he's older!" Abe waved goodbye, his twin trailing right behind him, and the two set off into the cold desert night.

Shaillu sighed and rested on a Boulder just outside her inn. She needed to send a message and call for a doctor. The seal mail would stop by in the morning so she could request a doctor then.

"Shaillu, why go through so much trouble for someone child?" Emri asked from her own stand. It wasn't like she was getting paid for this.

"Emri, that's someone baby, " she explained,"if my son or daughter were hurt, I'd want someone to take care of them too."

"Hmgh," She grunted.

The sun would be up. She needed to at least get a few hours of sleep before then, and she needed to write that letter.

Eventually, dawn rose,as it always did, across the desert sands. Warming the earth in a warm glow as people from all over began to stir.

Shaillu herself had woken up just in time to send the mail back to the city. As she did, she checked on the boy and pushed his hair out of his face. It was a short mouse brown that needed a good washing, but other than that, it was fairly clean. Pulling the blankets back, she inspected his injuries. He definitely had broken something in his arm.

Getting ready for the day, she made herself breakfast and waited for the doctor to show it was an emergency, so she should be arriving soon.

Her guests eventually woke and wandered about, so a bit curious as to why a child had managed to lose their way out this far.

Eventually, the doctor finally managed to sand surf her way to the bazaar.

"Are you Shaillu?" The woman with a white headband wrapped around her bicept asked,"Im Peoria. "

Shaillu put her book down,"Yes,please follow me." Guided the doctor to the child. She pulled back the sheets as the red head opened up her bag.

"Interesting,I've never seen such a child like this. In your letter, you said he was found in the desert?"

"Yes,some travelers saw something crash and assumed it was a star fragment,it turns out that it was just this boy," she pulled out a small glass bottle with the ink she'd clean out the tub," He was covered in this,I'm not sure if it's toxic or not so I put on gloves when I bathed him"

"You were wise. I've never seen a hylian child with wings before."

"I dont think he's hylian. Look at his ears,"

She looked and sure enough they were round,"how strange" she went on to feel around his leg,"yes I can feel something out of place" she started writing things down and pulled out a cast and several other objects Shaillu had no idea what to call,"This will set his bones back into place, don't let it get wet and make sure he stays off it"

"Is that all?"

"Ah yes,I'll swing back around in a few days, maybe a week, I wish I could bring him to the city for better treatment but he is a Voe,even if he is a child, I never gave my name, call me Peoria"

"That would make things a lot easier. thank you,Peoria, here's your payment." A small sack of rupees was dropped into the red head hand.

"I'll see you soon,"

"Like wise."

Shaillu looked down at the boy. He had a large cast on his leg and was covered in bandages and gauze wrap. Those would need to be changed as well,my how busy her life had suddenly become! A half smile graced her painted lips. It wasn't a bad thing, though.

Pulling up a stool, she rested her head on the table next to the boy,"I wonder, what color will your eyes be?" Maybe they'd be a deep brown? Or a brilliant gold? She already found him adorable, chubby cheeks, and that clunky form was just too cute! He had to be at least 15, maybe older.

"I wonder what your name is." she held his hand,it was cold. So she held them close in her warm palms. That's when she felt it. There was feint and small twitch of his hand softly grasping her own.

A full, heartwarming smile grew across her lips.

"I can't wait to finally meet you, little one,"

She couldn't sit around and coo over him all day,she was a businesswoman and had work to do.

Judging by the sound of footsteps, it seemed she had another customer.

"Vasaaq," she greeted, 'another hylian,' she took the moment to exsame his features. Blond hair pulled into a ponytail, bright blue eyes, and of course, the pointy ears.

He nodded and went about collecting what he needed, paied and was just about to head out the door when she called out to him.

"Wait,Voe, before you leave, I have something to ask of you."

"Hm?" He stopped to hear the woman out.

Shaillu had been thinking about what kind of clothes he would wear. Being exposed to the sun, especially with a pale skin tone, wasn't good for him. She couldn't leave her inn so the best she could hope for is that this hylian could maybe donate some extra clothes.

"You see, I have this...hylian child with me, but I have no suitable clothes for him. He's about 15. Do you know anywhere I could perhaps buy some fitting clothes? Or could I purchase some from you?"

The voe stopped and sat his bag down and pulled out a pair of worn shorts and an old shirt. He folded them and offered the cream colored outfit to her.

"Thank you,how mu-"

He held up his hand and shook his head. He didn't need any money, with another wave he set off back into the Gerudo desert.

"You are a blessed Voe,little one." She placed the shorts over his hips and pulled out some string and needle. It didn't take long for her to fix the donated cloths into a smaller size. Now, all she had to do was wash them.

After a quick wash, she double-checked to make sure they were clean and slipped the shirt over him. It was a bit big, but it would do for now.

"What should I call you?" She couldn't keep calling him 'boy' forever. She'd have to wait until he woke up, the thought exicted her.

As she waited for him to awake, weeks went by, and nothing had changed. She still bathed and washed his cloths, she took another look at the few salvaged things and picked up a large golden band, big enough to sit on someone wrist.

Curious, Shaillu slipped it on and was immediately filled with a twisted and agonizing pain. Like a fresh burn, someone had put ice directly on or fire Kresse burning away at her skull. She could hear words being spoken, they were panicky and scared. There was a painful shout, and then she ripped the band off. Sweaty and shaken to her core, Shaillu slowly slid down to the flood and rested her head on her knees.

'Wh-what in hylias name was that?!' Her throat felt dry, she needed something drink.Now.

"Little voe," she turned to the child on the bed,"just what do you know?"

Tired, she too decided it was best to close up early for the day,she felt...unwell. it felt like something cold had entered her body, and she desperately needed something warm too -

"Mhm! Nhghm!" The voe was twisting and turning in his sleep. This was the most movement she'd gotten out of him these few weeks!

Rushing over, she put a hand to his head. He was ice cold.

"This doesn't make any sense." She made sure that he was well tucked underneath a few blankets, so why was he so cold?

His face scrunched up into a painful grimace and something in her caved. Kicking her shoes off, she climbed into bed with him and pulled the child close. Rubbing his hair, she hummed an old nursery song she'd almost forgotten the words to.

"Hush now dear one,the stars have come to play, each with a smile and a gift they'd like to stay, join them dear on for light dawns away dance in the cool and beautiful shadows and shades"

He rolled closer and nuzzled into her chest, clutching her like one might a stuffed animal. She stayed like that with him until dawn broke, they both needed the comfort.

The day came, and she felt warmer. Whatever had chilled her soul had been purged. Maybe that was her little Voes special ability, besides being so cute.

Shaillu untangled herself from his limbs and made sure his cast was set properly as she started her morning chores. The inn was only semi empty, once again, the hylian determined to watch that stupid sand storm had come in to escape the sun.

"So who's that bundle of hair you have tucked away back there?" Nobiro asked. He was always staring out into the desert, waiting to get his hand on some of that 'ancient treasure' or whatever he was always on about.

"A small Voe that fell from the -"

"HOLY HYLIA! THIS KIDS GOT WINGS!" Nobiro stared hard at the white, boney wings that were tucked under the voes back,"What kind of hybrid is he?"

Hybrid? Was such a thing even possible?

"I'm not sure what he is."

The voe started shifting in his sleep again, rolling around, trying to get comfortable before falling back into slumber.

She sighed. Maybe this was a sign that he was getting closer to waking? She hoped so at least.

"You know you should ask Guy,you know what? I'll bring him"

"You really don't hav -"

The dark skinned man was already out the door,"Hey! Guy! Check this feaky kid out!"

Her eye twitched, but she refrained from punching the man into the wall.

Guy was a brown feathered Rito,he was fairy relaxed and tended to sun bath alot on the rock.

"Yes? And don't call people kid weird, that's a good way to swallow your teeth. "

"Guy, was it? Does this child look familiar to you at all?"

Guys beak dropped,"I...iv never seen anything like him before," he dropped to his knees and gently examined the smaller pair in front of him,"They're real alright, dosent look like some mad man sewed them on or anything" he put a bit of pressure in a certain spot on the kids back and his wing immediately opened up,"Yeah there's no faking that but..." he cut himself and started opening and closing the boys' wings.

"But?" Nobiro urged him on.

Guy was deeply thinking about how he was going to explain this," Well, the problem is that these seem a bit too small to really carry him, I could be wrong, though."

"So then,Guy,what do you think he is?" Shaillu asked, arms crossed.

"What I think? I don't think he's either. He could very well be a hybrid. "

"Maybe he came from a hidden tribe of Riot? or something? But that's just a theory. "

"Seems pretty valid to me...wait! What if more of these crazy fusion kids start popping up!?"

Guy looked at him and blinked,"Anyways, I heard that this kid fell from the sky,I wonder where he came from?"

"That's what I want to know as well," Shaillu sighed,"Sorry for taking your time,Guy."

"Nah, it's ok, I was lazing around anyways...hey, whenever this kid wakes up,I could bring him to the rito village for you? See if anyone knows anything about him. "

That would be wise, but...was it safe for a child to travel to such a cold and dangerous place? The gerudo desert wasn't that safe, but at least you could see any lizard or pig from afar. Out there in the tundra, everything was out to kill you,if the voe did decide to leave, she would worry.

"I...I'll think about it." What right did she have to infringe on this childs life? He could have worried parents looking for him at this very moment!

"If you say so,"

They both left, leaving the woman in deep thought.

Just what would become of this child once he woke up? She'd just have to wait and see.
