Episode 73: Go Go Ludicolo!
Mew and her friends are now walking down a path.
Looking at his Pokenav, Max says, "Petalburg City is right on the other side of this mountain."
"Well, that's good news," Brock says.
"Yeah," Tomo says.
"I can't wait until my battle with Norman," Mew says then turns to Pikachu and Eevee, "You're psyched too, right?"
Pikachu and Eevee express their excitement.
Then May asks, "What are the chances that we could take a short break."
"Sounds good to me," Brock says.
"I think it's a good idea," Zinnia says.
Soon, everyone stops to take a short break and have some water.
May sighs after having a drink, "Delicious.
"I'm so excited about getting home to mom and dad," Max says.
"Me, too. And I really can't wait to show them the two contest ribbons I won," May says, and gets out and opens her ribbon case.
"Plus, your Skitty, Beautiful, and the other Pokemon you caught," Max says.
"I know, they'll be so proud," May says, "Don't forget about your Pokemon as well."
"Yeah," Max says.
"Well guys, are you ready to battle for our fifth badge?" Mew asks her Pokemon.
Pikachu and Eevee say in their language, "We sure are."
But then Max says, "Don't be too sure it'll be an easy win. Don't forget, my dad is strong.
"It's true," May says, "I wouldn't plan on winning this badge so easily."
"I know. I had a tough time with our practice battle," Mew says, "However, I don't plan on backing down, I've seen myself how strong he is, but don't forget, my Pokemon and I have gotten strong ourselves."
"Not to mention confident," Brock says, "I hope you've decided which three Pokémon you're gonna use."
"I know I'm trying to decide. From what I remember, Norman uses Normal Type pokemon, so it's a bit of a challenge," Mew says.
"I have to agree on that," May says.
Mew then calls out, "Everyone, come out."
And with that, Mew calls out some of her Pokemon, including Grovyle.
"This is going to be a tough decision, Mew," Brock says.
"Yeah," Mew says.
Corphish notices Grovyle standing next to him and tries to tell him not to crowd him, but Pikachu steps in before the conflict can escalate.
"Corphish, this is Grovyle. You likely remember when he was a Treecko," Mew says.
"Corphish?" (It was?) Corphish questions.
"How about the rest of you come over to say hello?" Mew says.
Torkoal and Taillow do so.
"Hmm, now then, which three I should pick to battle Norman," Mew says.
"Well, no one knows these Pokémon better than you," Brock says.
Mew nods as the other Pokemon get to know Grovyle. Still, Mew is trying to decide which Pokemon to use to battle with Norman's Pokemon, and it's going to be a tough decision.
"This is going to be harder than I thought," Mew says.
"And trying to battle with Normal Types is tricky," Brock says.
"I remember he used Vigoroth when we had that unofficial match, but that's it," Mew says.
"Well, you're right," Max says.
"Hmm, I wish I knew what other Pokemon he'll use," Mew says.
As she talks tensions escalate between Corphish and Grovyle
"I wish I knew, too," Max says.
Then Max says, "Don't even think I'd tell and give you an advantage over my dad."
"That's true," Jen says.
Then Max turns to May, "Hey, May, you're gonna be cheering for dad, too, aren't you?"
"Of course I want to see dad win," May says. But then she sweat drops, "but I don't want to see Mew lose, either.
"You're kidding! This is our dad we're talking about here!" Max says.
"I know," May says, sheepishly.
"Well since Vigoroth is a normal Type, Fighting Types might have the advantage," Brock says.
"True, but Vigoroth is pretty strong," Mew says.
Suddenly, Taillow drops an orange into Mew's hands.
"An orange?" Molly questions.
"Hey, that looks pretty good," Brock says.
Mew calls out to her Tallow, "Taillow, where'd you find this orange?"
Taillows flies off to where it found the orange.
"Taillow said it's this way," Mew says.
"Let's go follow it," Zinnia says.
Taillow leads the group directly to a tree full of oranges.
"There it is!" Jen says.
"Look at all of them," Max says.
Yeah, but that's a tall tree. How are we going to pick the fruit from up there?" May wonders.
Corphish, keen for a bite of one of the oranges, runs right toward the tree.
"Looks like Corphish is going to do it," Tomo says.
However, Corphish accidentally crushes the fruit with its pincers.
"Or not," Max says.
Brock chuckles, "Orange juice, anyone?"
"Corphish, you were using too much strength," Mew says.
"Mew's right. Fruits are really delicate, so you have to be much more gentle," May says.
"As if," Max says.
Pikachu tries running up the tree, but ends up sliding back down. Corphish tries knocking the oranges out of the tree with a Bubble Beam, but that also proves destructive.
"Oh well. I guess it's the thought that counts, right?" May replies.
"I guess," Molly says.
Then Max says, "Didn't you hear Mew, Corphish? You got to turn down the juice."
Corphish resorts to ramming the tree to try and knock the fruit down, but to no avail.
"That won't help either," Mew says.
Just then, Grovyle comes in and uses Leaf Blade to cut some oranges down from the tree.
"Awesome Leaf Blade!" Max says.
Max and May catch the oranges that had fallen.
"Good idea, Grovyle," Jen says.
Torkoal starts crying tears of joy.
"Your Torkoal sure isn't shy about showing its emotions, Mew," Brock says.
"Looks like everyone loves Grovyle," Mew says.
Everyone gathered around Grovyle, excited.
Corphish starts becoming jealous of the attention that Grovyle was receiving, though Pikachu tries to calm it down.
"Sorry about that, Corphish. But you have your own strength as well," Mew says.
Corphish turns to Mew, "Cor Corphish! Corphish Cor Cor Corphish!" (It's not fair! Grovyle's getting attention from everyone instead of me!)
Mew then kneels and pat Corphish, "It's okay, Corphish."
Suddenly, without warning, a net drops down and snags Mew and her Pokemon.
"Hey, what's going on?" Zinnia exclaims.
They all look up to see Team Rocket's balloon, meaning Team Rocket is here. And the motto they say proves it.
Jessie:
Prepare for trouble and a sour report.
James:
Make it double cause we're cutting the show short!
Meowth:
To be continued.
"Team Rocket!" Everyone exclaims.
Then Jessie says, "My, you sure are trusting to let all your Pokémon out and about like that."
"Someone could just steal them," James says.
Then Team Rocket says, "And someone did."
Pikachu and Eevee try to break the net with electricity, but to no avail.
"As per usual down dere, we've taken electric precautions," Meowth says.
Corphish tries to cut the net, but it proves ineffective
"And we paid extra for the super delux net," James says.
"So give your grubby claws a break, pinchy," Jessie says.
"Then let's try something else," Mew says. Then turns to Grovyle, "Grovyle, Leaf Blade, now!"
Grovyle cuts the net open with Leaf Blade.
Team Rocket exclaims, "What was that?!
Mew, Pikachu, Eevee, Torkoal, and Grovyle land on their feet, while Corphish lands on its back
"Good job, Grovyle!" Mew says.
"Quite an impressive attack. It cut through that super-deluxe net like butter!" James says.
"I'll say. Grovyle huh," Jessie says.
Meowth calls out, "We can give it a standing ovation later!"
Grovyle fires a Bullet Seed right at Team Rocket, which batters them, before he slices their balloon to make a rip big enough for air to escape from, sending Team Rocket blasting off.
"It's remarkable!" Team Rocket screams.
Grovyle leans back on a tree.
"You were awesome, Grovyle," May says.
"You saved us again," Max says.
"It's amazing how much stronger you got since evolving," Brock says.
"Yeah," Zinnia says.
Torkoal starts crying tears of joy once again.
"Looks like Torkoal is very impressed, "Jen says.
"Who wouldn't be? After everything Grovyle just did, I'd say it's the coolest Pokémon ever," May says.
Soon, Tomo's Treecko, Willow, walks over and expresses her amazement.
"Looks like Willow is very impressed as well. She wishes that she can evolve into Grovyle too," Tomo says.
As the group commend and praise Grovyle even more, Corphish grows even more envious, with Brock noticing his agitation as he bickers with Grovyle
"Is it me, Mew, or does Corphish have some sort of problem with Grovyle?" Brock wonders.
"Stop it, Corphish. You're not supposed to fight with your own teammate," Mew says.
"It could be acting crabby because it's hungry," May suggests.
"That could be it," Brock says, "What do you all say we take a lunch break?"
Soon, the Pokémon are eating, save for Grovyle, and the humans are about to dig in.
"The food is good, Brock," Zinnia says.
"It's tasty," Jen says.
"Well, I made plenty so dig in," Mew says.
Everyone says, "Thanks Brock."
But just before they can grab a sandwich and dig in, they hear drums.
"What's that?" Molly asks.
"It sounds like some kind of a drum," Max says.
Soon, a Pokémon comes out of the bushes, and it's dancing happily. A bipedal plant Pokémon that appears to be a mixture of a pineapple and a duck. There is a green, sombrero-like growth on its head that is similar to a lily pad. Growing out of the top of its head is a short brown stem with a yellow spiky upper portion. It has black eyes surrounded by a patch of green and an orange bill. Its body is covered with shaggy yellow fur and has several zigzagging brown stripes. The female has thinner stripes than the male, and has large green hands with two black lines on its palms, and thick green legs with a black circle on the underside of its feet.
"What kind of Pokémon is that?" Molly asks.
"That's a Ludicolo," Max says.
"Wow," Max says, and brings out her Pokédex, "So that's what a Ludicolo looks like."
Then Dextette says, "Ludicolo, the Carefree Pokémon. A Water and Grass Type. Ludicolo becomes extremely active whenever it hears a cheery rhythm. This can also lead it to exert extreme power in battle."
"Oh remember. Ludicolo is also the evolved form of Lombre," Brock says.
"That's cool," Jen says.
Soon, a man wearing a sombrero and banging on some bongos comes out of the bushes. The has brownish hair and beard, and is wearing a yellow and orange shirt, blue pants and dark shoes.
The man asks with a smile, "Ludicolo, did you find some people to entertain?"
"It sure did, Mister," Tomo says.
Then Max asks, "Is this Ludicolo yours?"
"Yes it is, son," The man says, "I'm Poncho! And we travel from town to town, entertaining folk as we go! With my Congo beat and Ludicolo's dance moves, we work together to bring you the best in Pokémon variety show!"
"Oh, wow," May Tomo, Jen, and Molly say, amazed.
"So, are you like a street performer, kind of thing?" Max asks.
Poncho stops beating his bongos and says, "That's right, little man."
"So, Poncho, have you had that Ludicolo since it evolved from a Lombre?" Brock asks.
"Absolutely! And I used a Water Stone!" Poncho says.
"A Water Stone?" May questions.
"A Water Stone is used sometimes to help certain Pokémon evolve," Max says.
"That's right. It helps Pokemon like Eevee evolve to Vaporeon and Poliwhirl into Poliwrath," Mew says.
Then Brock says, ": Hey, Poncho! I have a Lombre too! How do you feel about taking a look at it?
"But of course!" Poncho says.
"Ha! Come on out, Lombre!" Brock says and calls out his Lombre.
Seeing Brock's Lombre, Poncho says, "Ah! This Lombre has obviously been raised very well."
"Oh, well, uh, thank you," Brock says.
Then asks his Pokemon, "Lombre, what do you think? Ludicolo's what you're gonna evolve into."
"Lombre. (Not bad.) Lombre says.
Then Poncho asks, "So by the way, will you be eating those sandwiches all by yourselves?"
"Probably," Mew answers.
"How about this, let's have a battle and the winner gets the sandwiches," Poncho says.
Mew giggles, "That's silly."
"Yeah. Besides, what do we get if you lose, Poncho?" Max asks.
"Hm. Yes, good point," Poncho says, "If I lose, we all go to the nearby town and I buy cheeseburgers for everyone."
May turns to Mew, "Are you sure you can win this, Mew?"
"Hmm," Mew says, "I might as well try."
"So. Then our battle is on. I choose my pride and joy, Ludicolo," Poncho says.
"Fine! Then I'm gonna choose…" Mew says.
Grovyle suddenly steps in.
"I guess, Grovyle," Mew says.
However, Crophish starts acting mad towards Grovyle
"What's the matter, Corphish? Did you want to battle?" Mew asks.
"Corphish Cor!" (Yes, I do!) Corphish says.
Mew nods, "Okay, then I'll pick you. So you ready to go?"
"Corphish." (Sure am!) Corphish says.
"Wait one minute," Poncho says as he beats his bongos, causing Ludicolo to dance, "We never start a battle until we get in the groove."
"And that is?" May asks.
"Some kind of battle dance," Max says.
"Odd dance," Mew says.
"Everyone has their own thing, I guess," Brock says.
Soon, both participants are ready.
Brock announces, "This Pokémon battle between Ashely and Poncho will now begin! Each side will use one Pokémon, with no time limit. Let the match begin!"
"Then let's go," Mew says and calls out, "Go, Corphish, Vice Grip!"
Corphish darts in
Poncho plays his bongos, "Ludicolo, dodge that!"
Ludicolo does so.
"Wow. Impressive," Jen says.
Lucidcolo is faster than it looks," May says.
"Okay, now follow up with Bubble Beam!" Mew calls out.
Corphish fires.
Then Poncho calls out, "Ludicolo, Protect!
Ludicolo deflects the attack by using energy made from its hands.
"It's got a pretty good defense, too," Mew says. Then calls out, "Corphish, Crab Hammer!"
Corphish readies the attack and darts in.
Poncho then calls out, "Dodge it, Ludicolo!
Ludicolo does so several times while also using Protect against another Bubble Beam.
"That Ludicolo is tougher than it looks," Zinnia says.
"Mew and Crophish aren't doing so great," Brock says.
"And with Ludicolo also being a Grass Type doesn't help either," Jen says.
"There goes our lunch," Max says.
Then Mew calls out, "Crab Hammer again, Corphish!"
Corphish darts in with a Crab Hammer ready to strike
"Ludicolo, Double Team!" Poncho calls out.
Ludicolo, while dancing to the rhythm of the bongos, creates multiple copies of itself that surround Corphish.
"Don't worry about it!" Mew calls out, "We need to focus in find the real one."
Just then, Poncho calls out, "Ludicolo, do a Focus Punch!"
Ludicolo fries in on the attack.
"Quick, dodge," Mew calls out.
Corphish dodges, but barely makes it.
"You okay, Corphish?" Mew calls out.
Corphish nods after regaining himself.
"Vise Grip!" Mew calls out.
Corphish darts in, but Ludicolo dodges
"Alright, then, try a Bubble Beam!" Mew calls out.
Corphish fires the attack.
Poncho then calls out, "Protect!"
Ludicolo deflects the attack.
"Ludicolo, use Focus Punch!" Pocho calls out.
"Dodge it!" Mew calls out.
Corphish tries to dodge, but Ludicolo is able to hit Crophish at the side.
"Corphish!" Mew calls out.
Corphish struggles to get up.
"Can you do another Crab Hammer?" Mew calls out.
Corphish readies the attack and scuttles forward.
Poncho then calls out, "Ludicolo, finish up with Hyper Beam!"
"Hyper Beam?!" Mew and her friends exclaim.
Ludicolo fires a Hyper Beam and hits right on the money. Corphish falls to the ground, defeated.
"Corphish is unable to battle. Ludicolo wins! The victory goes to Poncho!" Brock announces.
"We won, Ludicolo! You know what that means! Poncho says.
Ludicolo does a victory dance.
"Wow. I lost," Mew says.
"Oh bummer," Jen says.
Soon, Poncho has the sandwiches loaded and ready to go
"No hard feelings, right? I do not wish to ruin a new friendship," Poncho says.
"No, of course not. A deal's a deal," Mew says.
"In that case, thank you very much. And now, we must move on," Poncho says.
Poncho and Ludicolo take their leave.
"Well, Mew, not one of your best battles," May says.
"I don't think you and Corphish were in sync," Jen says.
"Plus I think you underestimate your opponent, too," Zinnia adds.
"And Corphish didn't seem as strong as it usually does," Brock adds.
Corphish feels bad about it, but Pikachu comforts him.
"Guess that means we go without lunch today," May says, dejected.
Max: That's just great," Max says.
"Never fear, Brock is here, and he's making some more sandwiches," Brock says.
Everyone cheers, "Yay!"
"I'm sorry, you guys," Mew says.
"Nah, don't worry about it," Brock reassures.
Soon, Corphish says, "Corphish!" (That's it.) and suddenly scuttles off.
"Hey, Corphish! Where are you going?" Mew calls out.
Corphish ran off into the bushes.
Mew soon grows worried, "Oh Corphish…"
Not long after, the group begins searching for Corphish.
Mew calls out, "Taillow, you see Corphish anywhere?"
"Taillow…" (No, I can't find him...) Taillow calls out from the sky.
"Oh Corphish," Mew says, sadly.
"I wonder where it went off to," Tomo wonders.
"And the forest is really big too," Brock says.
"So what do you think could have happened to him?" Max asks.
Then Mew says, "Guys, I think Corphish's feelings were badly hurt."
"I think you're right. We've been praising Grovyle a lot lately, we didn't realize his feelings were hurt," May says.
"Yeah. He probably wanted to show how good it is in battle, but he lost," Max says.
"And we were talking about what happened after the battle," Zinnia says, "That probably didn't make him feel good."
"Oh, Corphish. Is that really what happened?" Mew asks, worried.
Meanwhile, Corphish was scuttling along angrily, looking for Poncho and Ludicolo. Speaking of whom, they had sat down and were just about to eat the sandwiches they won
Poncho then says, "Ludicolo, I am feeling a bit guilty. I never should've accepted those sandwiches."
Ludicolo then suggests, "Ludicolo. (Why don't we treat them to cheeseburgers instead, win or lose?)
"If you're thinking what I'm thinking, it's a very good idea. Next time we see them, we'll treat them to some cheeseburgers," Poncho says.
"Ludicolo," (Perfect plan.) Ludicolo
"So, in that case, let's do, a meal dance!" Poncho says.
Poncho starts playing and Ludicolo starts dancing to the rhythm. Corphish soon hears the sound of the bongos and rushes towards the source of the sound. Soon, Poncho and Ludicolo notice him.
"Well, look who it is, Ludicolo," Poncho says.
Corphish angrily says, "Corphish! Corphish! Corphish! Corphish!" (I demand a rematch with you!)
"What's this? You want to battle with Ludicolo one more time?" Poncho asks.
"Corphish, Corphish!" (You bet I do!) Corphish says, angrily with a nod, meaning yes.
"I understand what you say, but we're about to sit down and eat," Poncho says, holding out a sandwich to give to Corphish, "You care to join us?"
Corphish angrily refuses and demands for a battle.
"Oh, my goodness me. You should not let your temper get the best of you, Corphish," Poncho says.
Unknown to them, Team Rocket is spying on them.
"Grovyle was good, but just look at that," James says.
"You're not kidding, that is one impressive looking Pokémon," Jessie says.
"Dat's right, and by bein' impressive, it will really impress da boss," Meowth says.
Confused, James says, "Not sure I'm following you."
A fantasy scenario begins
Meowth then explains, "Well, imagine how much he'll love startin' his day by wakin' up to his dancin' Ludicolo. An' if he gets all frustrated because of da uselessness of his undalings, a dance from his Ludicolo will make him feel a bit better inside. An' den I know da boss will say; "Dat tawkin' Meowth an' the others who gave me this are truly Team Rocket members."
Scenario ends
Jessie and James cheer, "Woohoo!"
"We'll be in for big promotions and expense accounts!" Team Rocket happily says.
But then James asks, "Wait, what if the boss finds Ludicolo's dance annoying?
"Hey, don't you know that dancing brings joy to people's lives?!" Meowth says.
"Either way, a gift is a gift, so I say we go catch it," Jessie says.
Back over, Corphish is still acting mad at Ludicolo while Poncho was still feeling regretful about the outcome against Mew and the outcome of the deal they made before the match.
"Of course, we can battle, but would you not first have a bite to eat?" Poncho says.
Suddenly, smoke billows in.
"Hey, what is this?" Poncho asks.
Then, the smoke billowed even more in front of everyone.
Poncho cries out, "Run!"
Everyone starts running
"It is a Haze attack, let's go!" Poncho cries out.
Suddenly, with the Haze following close behind them, Poncho and his Ludicolo fall into a pit, though Corphish manages to stop just as a net scoops trapped the pair.
"What is going on?!" Poncho cries out.
"Ludicolo." (We've been captured.) Ludicolo cries out.
Team Rocket is heard laughing as the balloon lifts them up
"Ludicolo is ours!" Jessie says.
Corphish fires a Bubble Beam at Team Rocket before climbing up a tree and jumping up to the net from a tree branch. Corphish lands on the net.
"Please, help us," Poncho says.
Corphish begins tugging at the net with his claws.
"Keep pulling, you've almost got it!" Poncho says.
"Yes, you can keep pulling, but I'm afraid you'll never get it," Jessie says.
"Woooooobbu!" (Sure won't!) Wobbuffet says.
Determined, Corphish leaps up onto the balloon and punches a hole in it.
Team Rocket cries out, "Not there!"
And with that, the balloon zooms off.
Down on the ground, Mew and the others are still searching for Corphish, until they see something from above.
"What's that?" Jen asks.
"Amaura," (I don't know.) Amaura says.
They soon see what it is a bit closer
"Team Rocket's balloon!" Brock says.
"And it has a hole," Tomo says.
"And it's out of control!" Jen says.
Then May notices, "Isn't that Poncho and Ludicolo up there."
"And the balloon is coming right at us!" Mew cries out.
"Run!" Max cries out.
Everyone runs away as the balloon crashes to the ground. Soon, coming out of the smoke are Poncho and Ludicolo.
"Why were we dangling from a net?" Poncho asks.
And then Corphish follows from behind.
Mew turns around and rushes over, "Crophish." And knees down to him, "What are you doing with Poncho? What happened?"
Pocho walks over, "It is so good to see you."
"Are you and the others okay, Poncho?" Brock asks.
"Something very strange is happening," Poncho says.
Suddenly, they hear Jessie's voice, "Prepare for trouble as we show you strange!"
The dust clears away as Jessie talks, and they both perform the motto.
James:
Make it double cause we have quite a range!
Jessie:
To protect the world from devastation.
James:
To unite all peoples within our nation.
Jessie:
To denounce the evils of truth and love.
James:
To extend our reach to the stars above.
Jessie:
Jessie.
James:
And James.
Jessie:
Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light.
James:
So surrender now, or prepare to fight, fight, fight!
Meowth:
Dat's right!
Wobbuffet:
Wooooobbu! (Aaaaaand cut!)
"I think they were trying to steal my Ludicolo," Poncho says.
"Definitely sounds like something they'd do," May says.
"But just in the nick of time, your Corphish was able to save us, Ashley," Poncho says.
Corphish says, "Corphish!" (That's right!)
"Great job, Corphish!" Mew says.
Then Jessie calls out, "Alright, Seviper, go!"
Seviper comes out.
Then James calls out, "You, too, Cacnea!" And grunts as he throws the Pokéball
Cacnea comes out, but hugs James instead.
James then tries to pull it off, "Listen close! Attack the twerps facing us, not me!"
"Fine, then. You want a battle?" Mew says, then calls out, "Corphish, Bubble Beam!"
Corphish fires and hits both Pokemon.
James then calls out, "Cacnea, use your Needle Arm!"
Cancea fires the attack.
Mew calls out, "Dodge and use Vise Grip!
Corphish dodges both and grabs both Pokémon
"Way to go, Corphish," Mew cheers.
James then calls out, "Cacnea, Pin Missile!"
Cacnea then fires the attack.
Mew then calls out, "Harden, and then use Crab Hammer!"
Corphish does so, first deflecting the needles before nailing both Pokémon with Crab Hammer, sending them flying into Team Rocket.
"Alright, finish up with Bubble Beam!" Mew calls out.
Corphish performs Bubble Beam and fires the attack, sending Team Rocket flying.
"Now da boss won't see Ludicolo dance!" Meowth cries out.
"We never should have tangoed with that Corphish!" James says.
"Because now we're going in the way of disco!" Jessie says.
"I know! Don't tell me!" Meowth screams.
Then Team Rocket cries out, "Looks like Team Rocket's waltzing off again!"
"Wobbuffet! ("I hate this!") Wobbuffet cries out.
And soon, Team Rocket is gone.
"Great job, both of you. That was quite a battle," Poncho says.
"Ludicolo," (It surely was.) Ludicolo says.
"Thank you," Mew says.
Then May asks, "So, Poncho? Did Corphish really seek you out?"
"Yes. It appears that Corphish wanted a must've been very upset to lose," Poncho says.
Corphish confirms it.
"So that really is what happened," Max says.
"Yes, and because of Corphish, we are now safe. So we thank you very much," Poncho says.
"Ludicolo!" (Thanks a bundle!) Ludicolo says.
"Corphish." (No prob.) Corphish says.
Later, the group is eating lunch, both soup and sandwiches, and Pokemon food as well.

Then Poncho says, "But I have been feeling bad about taking those sandwiches, and now I am eating your stew."
"Nah, don't worry. I have plenty of ingredients left over and we just love to cook," Brock reassures.
Then Poncho says, "Just watching Corphish battle really worked up an appetite. I am not sure how Ludicolo and I would have fared against either of them."
"Colo! (No joke!) Ludicolo saus.
"Corphish!" (I'm pretty good.) Corphish says.
"It did seem to me that Corphish was a lot more confident in that last battle," May says.
Then Poncho says, "Perhaps Ludicolo and I were lucky to win that last one. Every Pokémon can have a bad day every once in a while, right? Well, that is perhaps something for another day."
Corphish happily agrees as Torkoal cries tears of joy.
"Once again, Torkoal is impressed too," Max says.
"How could it not be? Corphish was awesome," May says.
Corphish proudly boasts about its praise, to which Grovyle nods.
Then Mew asks, "Hey, Poncho, what do you say about another battle?"
"You mean a rematch with Corphish?" Poncho asks.
"No, I meant against my Torkoal," Mew says, "I think Corphish can you a break after the adventure he had.
Torkoal shoots smoke out of its nostrils.
"Alright, then we accept your challenge," Poncho says.
Ludicolo agrees and later, both participants are ready.
"Ashley and Torkoal have challenged Poncho and his Ludicolo to a battle!" Brock announces, "Let the match begin!"
Mew calls, "Go, Torkoal, Flamethrower!"
Poncho plays the bongos, "Dodge it, Ludicolo!"
Ludicolo does so.
Mew says in thought, "Just have to concentrate, I know I can win this."
Poncho then calls out, "Ludicolo, Focus Punch, now!"
Ludicolo throws the attack
Mew then calls out, "Iron Defense!"
Torkoal ducks into its shell just in time, causing Ludicolo to hurt its hand upon impact.
Then Poncho calls out, "Alright, now, Double Team!"
Ludicolo creates several dancing copies of itself
"You'll be okay, Torkoal, just focus," Mew calls out.
Torkoal. ("Got you.") Torkoal says.
Then Mew calls out, "Sweep with Flamethrower from the left!"
Torkoal does so, burning through several copies before hitting the real one
"Oh, no!" Poncho says.
"Way to go, Torkoal!" Mew says.
"Ashley is managing to control the battle this time," Brock says.
Max: I'll say," Max says.
"Torkoal is doing great," Molly says.
Mew commands hit Torkoal to leap into the battle.
