I hear Jason's voice and an older woman's. "Jay?" I rub my eyes. "It's okay, sweetheart. Don't worry." I notice Leia asleep, and I move away from her quietly and quickly. I get up and go over to hug Jason. He hugs me tightly. "Jay, who's this?" "Oh, this is my mom, Erika." I look at her like I know her. I say, "Haven't seen you in forever." She looks at me like she finally remembers me. "Hello, Julie." I get angry. "No one calls me that anymore. If I had known that you were Jason's mom, I might not have gotten to know him better." Jason looks between his mother and me. He says, "Erika? Ronnie? What's going on?" "Your mother here was once married to my father; she's not my birth mother, but she was still a mother to me. She divorced him when I was three, so I don't remember much, but I know that smell of hers." "Mom, is this true?" She looks at the ground like she wants to lie, but she knows she can't. "Yes, JJ, it's true. This was after your father, and I got divorced, and I got remarried." Jason slaps his mom. "I deserve that." "Yeah, mom, you do." Leia turns over and faces the other way. "Jay, we can't wake her. Let me take her to bed while you and Erika talk." "Sounds good to me, Veronica. You go ahead and grab my sister," Jason turns to Erika, "and you and I will talk." I grab Leia and make my way to her room. I lay her down on the bed and snuggle up next to her. I fall asleep with one of my arms under Leia's head and the other over her shoulders. I wake up the next morning to find myself alone in Leia's bed. "Leia?" I get up and walk into the kitchen/living room, where I find Leia, Jason, and Erika talking and having breakfast. "What's going on here?" They all look at me smiling. "We all forgave each other, and are having breakfast," says Leia. Jason comes up to me and kisses me good morning.
