Well I got the results back from my MRI, and they told me that I have swelling on my right knee and breakdown of the knee cap tissue.
Introductions
When James Gordon arrived at the Falcone estate, the first thing he saw when he got out of the car was a young woman getting off a horse, and then helping a little boy off the horse. The woman saw him and was looking at him with both interest and curiosity and he at her. The woman put one hand on the horse's reins and the other on the boy's shoulder. The little boy hugged the woman while looking at the detective.
"Hola senor," a servant greeted. "Can I help you?"
"James Gordon," he introduced himself, "I'm here to see Carmine Falcone. He's not expecting me."
After a moment, the servant replied, "Come with me, please."
After giving the woman one last look, Jim followed the servant.
"Mommy, who is that?" Leo asked looking up at his mother.
"I don't know darling," Sofia replied, "But I think we'll find out. Leo, why don't you go inside and get a couple of cookies and a glass of milk from the kitchen."
"Okay Mama," Leo smiled and then ran inside.
The servant led Jim out to where Carmine was eating breakfast at the table. When Carmine saw James approach him, he was surprised to see him.
"Carmine." Jim said casually and stuck his hand out to shake hands with him, but Carmine didn't take it.
"Jim. You're a long way from home," replied Carmine.
"Came down to see you Carmine. Heard you retire down here," Jim comments as he sits down at the table, "Sorry for not calling ahead."
But Carmine knew otherwise. "No you're not."
Jim then tried to make small talk with the former mob boss. "It's quite the spread you have here."
But Carmine knew that there was a reason why he came here and wasn't having any small talk with him. "I think we're pass the point of small talk Jim. Just tell me why you're here."
Jim took off his sunglasses ready to explain his reason. Then Sofia, who was still in her riding outfit, came walking out to where her father was eating, and she saw him talking to Jim Gordon.
"Morning Daddy," she smiled at her father and kissed him on the cheek.
"How was Artemis?" Carmine asked.
"Feisty as usual, but I whipped him into shape," Sofia said, taking her gloves off, and then looked at Jim, "Who's this?"
"James Gordon," Carmine answers, and Sofia had a look of realization on her face, "Jim, meet my only daughter, Sofia."
Jim was going to get up to shake her hand, but Sofia just shakes her head and sits down and looked at him with a forced and curious smile. "What are you doing here James?"
Jim hesitated, until Carmine said, "Go ahead Jim. I have no secrets from my children."
Jim then spoke to Carmine, "Penguin has taken over the city. GCPD has turned its back on Gotham. There are families that are still loyal to you. I need your help to knock him off his perch."
"Sure this isn't about you Jim?" Carmine asked, "Your loss of power in Gotham?"
"This is bigger than me," Jim replied.
"You have fight kid. I've always admired that in you," Carmine said, but then shook his head, "But I can't do what you ask."
Jim gave a look of shock and disappointment. "Why?"
Carmine shared a look with his daughter before he explained, "Because I'm dying. Doctors don't know why, maybe old age, karma, they seem to think the air is better down here for me, give me more time. I'm not one to argue with doctors or time. So you see I can't go back."
Sofia was quiet for a few moments, then spoke, "I'll go back."
But Carmine turned it down, "Hush. You're not ready for Gotham." Sofia frowned.
Then Leo came out with a stuffed lion and went over to them. "Hi, Mommy. Hi, Grandpa."
Sofia smiled, "Hi, sweetie."
"Hi, buddy," Carmine said to his grandson.
Leo hugged his grandpa, then hugged his mom. Then Sofia smiled and pulled Leo into her lap.
"Who's this?" Jim asked, looking at the little boy on Sofia's lap.
"This is my son, Leo," Sofia introduced, "Leo, this is James Gordon."
"It's nice to meet you Leo," Jim said, giving the boy a smile.
"Hi," Leo said quietly. He then hid his face in Sofia's chest, and she smiled at him and brushed a little hair out of his face. Leo was told about who James Gordon was and what happened to his uncle and godfather.
Carmine then said to Jim, "There was a time in my life when I would've done anything for the city. Those days are gone. I'm sorry Jim, you're on your own."
Meanwhile Sofia was looking at James with interest and smiled a little. She then looked down at her son, "Sweetie, let's go back inside."
"Okay, Mommy," Leo said.
They both got up and Sofia took Leo's hand and they went inside the house.
Sofia then put her hands on Leo's shoulders and said, "Leo, sweetie, we're going to go somewhere."
"You mean like a vacation?" Leo asked.
Sofia answered, "Not exactly, we are going to be moving to another place, for something better."
"But why are we going?" Leo asked.
Sofia answered, "Because I have something important I need to do there."
"Where are we going?" Leo asked.
"Do you remember the city I told you about where I lived before? Where your grandfather was king?" Sofia asked Leo.
Leo nodded, "Gotham."
"Yes, we are going there and I will rule over the city and I will have what I deserve," Sofia said.
Leo frowned sadly, he didn't want to leave Miami.
Then Sofia said, "Pack your things, we're leaving tonight."
"But Mommy I like it here," Leo protests.
Sofia knelt down and lifted up Leo's chin and said, "Leo. What do I always say?".
Leo answered, "That I must always listen to you."
"Exactly," Sofia said, "You may not understand but this is for the best, trust me. I am your mother and I know best."
"But what about Artemis and Copper?" Leo asked.
Copper is Leo's chestnut horse that Sofia got for Leo as a foal on his 5th birthday, but he was still a little too young for Leo to start riding.
"We can send for them once everything settles, until then the groom will look after them," Sofia promised, "Now go pack."
Leo sighed sadly and hugged his stuffed lion, Romeo, who was given to him by his uncle and godfather, and walked upstairs to his bedroom.
