Chapter 10 Home sweet Home
Early Monday morning, when it was still dark, a huge storm had come through. Thunder and lightning lit up the sky.
A loud crash and clap of thunder was what woke up Fif early that morning as she bolted upright, her eyes wide with panic and fear as she looks around the still slightly darken room, sighing with relief when she realized that she was next to her oldest sister Betsy in bed, safe and sound. Fifi tried to go back to sleep but she just couldn't. Fifi sighed, got out of bed and walked into the Living room and Leaning back on her many pillows, she tried once again to go back to sleep, as she was still very tired. However, she couldn't go back to back to sleep."
Meanwhile a news crew had pulled up in front of the hotel after hearing the story about the kidnapped girls.
The cameras started rolling at 7:16 am outside "Hello I'm Hugh Jazz for channel two news and I'm currently in front of the River hotel which is at this time Where the Former Laceshop Girls and There's Family are staying there's recuse from Dentelle Lace Shop factory with four charges in kidnapping Henri Madame LaCroque Madam Kathy Green and Noah James. Carter From Paris French Police say That's Little Girls have Whipped Marks And Haircuts we are waiting to see the girls walk out of the hotel And the smallest being 7 year old Madeline Police are currently not saying anything about the Girls health all we can do at this point is pray for girls safe and well being . I'm Hugh Jazz reporting live from the River Hotel
now back to Seymour Butts and I.P Freely in the studio."

A few hours later, Everyone in Madeline's family was getting up for the day. Madeline was still fast asleep. Paul walked over to his daughter's bed "Madeline time to wake up sweetheart." Madeline mumbled something and opened her eyes. "Good morning sweetheart." Paul said as Madeline tiredly got out of bed. "Morning dad" Madeline replied and yawned. After getting dressed in her new clothes, The family of six made their way out of the room down the hall and to the elevator where they met up with the others. After a quick elevator ride to the lobby, the group made their way back to the restaurant.
Madeline yawned and asked her sister "Alice what time it is?"
Alice said almost time for Breakfast" are you okay'?
Madeline nodded but yawned a few more times while rubbing her eyes.
Fifi said no I'm really tired' that storm woke me up last night and I just couldn't go back to sleep. Fifi yawned.
Bell nodded and said, same. There were storms outside when we were in the factory, but it never woke us up when we were all sleeping in that one little room together. Sleeping apart isn't working.
Roxy said I agree" Bell.
The large group reached the restaurant. "Good morning girls One of our waiters, Baileywick, made you all a very special breakfast of his famous goldenberry pancakes. The girls were now a little bit more awake gave a small smile. After the group was settled at their table another waiter came with a tray of plates that had the pancakes.
Rudy said Breakfast is served
Betsy said well we better eat cause we Leave for your Check up right after we Eat"
Violet said oh alright"
Riley looked at her siblings Alice and Maxwell and said this Will be a long day Madeline gave dad a hard time About getting up.
Amy and Paul smiled. As they both remembered that when Madeline was little, even as an infant she always had a harder time waking up if it was early in the morning. While Riley was more of an early wake.
Madeline gave a small smile and yawned once again. After thanking Baileywick for putting breakfast in front of her, Goldenberry pancakes with blueberry syrup drizzled on top.
Looking at the food, she didn't feel hungry at all despite not eating much dinner the previous evening, but she forced herself to eat at least a quarter of what she normally ate.
Once the group was done, everyone got up and headed to the lobby to meet their Van. Maxwell then noticed the news van and the camera crew waiting outside the door to get a glimpse of the girls.
Maxwell said Um Dad there are Reports waiting outside this what happened yesterday afternoon."
''Paul looked at his oldest son and then at the group and said, "Let's exit through the back door, the girls don't need this right now. The other parents agreed and everyone made their way through the back exit. After calling for the car that was hired for the group,
After a quick ride to the hospital, the group made their way up to the 5th floor where the girls had another physical therapy session. After that was done, it was time to meet up with Doctor Daniel and Doctor Ray for a checkup. To everyone's surprise the nurses who were checking the girl's vitals, were none other than Nurse Tilly and Nurse Amber.
"Hello girls, nice to see you all looking much better." Nurse Amber said with a huge smile as she gave her former patients a hug.
The girls smiled.
After that was done Doctor Ray and Doctor Daniel came in and checked each girl over. After their checkup, the large group of girls, parents and siblings made their way into the office of the two doctors.
Dr Daniel smiled and said "I'm very pleased and proud with the amount of progress that has been made in these last two weeks." The girls are almost back up to their normal weight." Dr Ray said normally I wouldn't let the girls go from under My Care just yet but seeing how well they have done, I'll release them back home. I'll send their paperwork to Paris and Dr Carlisle will take over there for Physical therapy. Now have there been any problems over these last two weeks?" Dr Ray asked.
David said we took them to the Hotel restaurant last week and everything was going fine there until it started getting really crowded and loud there."
Dr Daniel asked David why did you all want to try a Crowded Restaurant. "Well we just wanted to see how the girls would do in a larger public setting seeing how well they had been doing. Dr Ray nodded. He then asked how about this morning have any of the girls had any troubles from Last night with the storm?
Margert said yep Fifi hardly slept last night she was wide awake"
Paul said I know Madeline gave me a hard time about Waking up also.
Amy said, I know Paul but Madeline ate half of her breakfast. She has been doing so well the Last few days" maybe it was just too Early' for the Kids' to be awake'?
Dr Daniel nodded and said well until they fully recover, just keep an eye on them for a few more days before you go back to Paris. The parents nodded and after thanking the doctors for helping treat their children, the group made their way back downstairs and got into the car.

Meanwhile
Back in Paris The 11 little girls were playing in their room while Miss Clavel was downstairs watering the plants when a knock was heard at the door. Miss Clavel opened the door surprised to see George standing on the front stoop.
George Said: Bonjour Miss Clavel."
Miss Clavel says Bonjour George what brings you here?
George said I just wanted to let you know that your two little girls will be returning soon.
Miss Clavel smiled "Oui".
George sighed and said now I'm also here to give you your 3nd warning."
My 3nd "Warning about what? Miss Clavel asked a little shocked
George said You are getting the 3nd warning because how did you not know that your other students snuck out of the house?"
"Sir I" Miss Clavel tried to say."
But George just held up his hand and continued.
"Also When four kids went missing twice When they ran off with the Gypsies and took off on a Wild horse through London."
Mrs. Clavel said "sir I'm so sorry I was so wrapped up in trying to find Madeline that I never knew the girls would make their own plans.
George said Miss Clavel when I hired you From the boys reform school you had no experience with Little Girls at first you remember Miss Helen Karen who help you before the girls came
Miss Clavel said oui I remember
George said I would hate to pull Miss Helen Karen out of Retirement Now that she is a Mother to a teenagers son
Miss Clavel said I will promise you Mr George the Girls are under my care Always
George said alright Miss Clavel but I will be checking up on you for now. George then left.
Miss Clavel sighed and closed the door.
(Back in Vienna)
When the car got back to the hotel, It was still storming hard when the group entered the hotel. "Well I don't think we will be able to go to the playground today." Amy said
The girls groaned.
"What can we do inside Mom?" Riley said
What does everyone think about a movie day in the ballroom?" Baileywick said
The group of children smiled.
"That sounds fun,'' Madeline said.''
"Could we have popcorn as well?" Kelly said
The parents looked at each other.
"I don't see why not." Tina said as Randy went to talk to the front desk. The girls were soon settled with bags of popcorn watching movie after movie under the watchful eyes of their parents. After the popcorn was eaten and the movies were over, the girls had become tired. The group of girls and parents all went upstairs to their rooms. Where the girls instantly fell asleep.
Looking at her other two children, Amy said "Maxwell, Alice Homework time." Maxwell and Alice groaned but sat down and started on their homework.
After the girls woke up from their naps, The manager of the hotel came by and told them that a few officers would like to do a short interview with the girls. Paul and Amy sighed as they both knew that this would happen Madeline was nervous she then noticed a doll with curly blonde hair. Madeline picked it up and smiled. A few moments later Madeline found herself sitting with her friends. The officers sat down at the table across from the girls. "Hello everyone my name is officer Cora and this is officer Adam." We just want to ask you girls a few questions." The girls looked at each other nervously and both officers noticed this. Officer Adam said "You girls like stuffed animals?" The girls nodded. "Well Officer Cora and I have some bears for you." Adam said as he and Cora passed out the bears. Madeline's body started trembling a little. The small girl just held her new doll and hugged it tightly.
Officer Cora then asked
"Now can you girls tell me what happened to you while in the factory?"
Roxy said "We were forced to make lace
Anne said We were trapped in a little room in the basement
Kate said If we made a mistake we were whipped.
Fifi said We all slept in a cramped room with no light
Madeline said We weren't given any food some days as well.
After some more questions, officer Cora and Adam said "Thank you girls it was very brave of you to do this.
...; As the officers were packing up, getting ready to leave, the girls gave a sigh of relief. Madeline then heard and saw a girl crying.
"I can't find Mirabelle anywhere mom. " Don't worry Penny, I'm sure she's around here somewhere,'' Kristin (Who was Penny's adopted mother) said.
...; Penny then looked and saw that Madeline was holding her doll. "Look mom, that little girl has her. Penny rushed over to Madeline.
"Hi, my name is Penny. What's yours?"
"I'm Madeline." Madeline said.
"Hi Madeline, could I have my doll back please?" Penny asked
"I found it though." Madeline said
"It's mine though." Penny said.
Kristin came over and saw how happy and relaxed Madeline looked with the doll in her arms. Kristin knelt down in front of her daughter and said, Penny you have your Teddy bear still. Don't you think Mirabelle found happiness with Madeline just like your Teddy bear helped you.
Penny sighed and said "Yes" "You can keep her Madeline."
Kristen gave her daughter a hug. I'm very Proud of you. sweetheart.

That night after getting ready for bed, Riley sighed.
"Is everything alright Ry?" Paul asked with concern.
Riley said "Yeah I just miss Genevie Marie."
"Genevie Marie? Who is she? Amy asked.
Riley said She's our dog back at the old house.
"When did you get a dog?" Amy asked because when your dad and I first met Miss Clavel, she didn't say anything about you and Madeline or the other girls having a dog.
"Well uh you see it's kind of" Riley stammered.
"Ronny Lily Fogg tell us the full story." Paul said. sternly.
Okay well it was a couple of years ago. we took her home with us after she rescued Madeline after she fell into the river. Riley started"
MADELINE FELL INTO THE RIVER? "Madeline has never learned to swim." Paul said loudly, causing Madeline, who was fixing Marabele's hair, to jump and run out of the bedroom and into the sitting area.
"Yeah I know how to swim because aunt Kathy gave me lessons but she didn't teach Madeline." Riley said, pulling a video tape from her bag and turning it on (Riley had taken the video tape from Aunt Kathy's house and it showed what happened when Madeline fell into the river.)
While the tape was playing, Madeline had calmed down and walked back into the bedroom only to be gathered into her parents arms. Paul and Amy's eyes grew wide. Amy's eyes filled with unshed tears, as they saw their youngest daughter screaming for help. Once the tape was over, Amy looked up at her husband. After a few moments of silence, Amy wiped her eyes.
Amy said to Paul what Kathy Green was thinking about teaching only Riley how to swim. That's it I'm signing both girls up for Swimming Lessons" Riley how Long was Madeline under Water'?"
"Only for about five to ten minutes. Riley said
"Thank goodness for that dog then. Amy said as she hugged Madeline close to her.
"Is there anything else we should know about?" Paul asked
"Well Riley had her tonsils removed a couple of years ago as well. Madeline said.
"Are you sure Maddie?" Amy asked.
Madeline said sure as Rain Mama
"That's right Maddie I rode in an ambulance and everything." Riley said.
"Y.. You had Surgery?" Paul stammered
. Riley nodded. "Oh my little girl." Paul said as he gathered Riley into his arms.
"Did Kathy know about that also?" Amy asked, trying to hold back her anger.
She didn't until Miss Clavel told her." Madeline said
"Aunt Kathy was so nice to me while I was in the hospital." Riley said
Paul had heard enough. "Alright that's enough for tonight let's all now get a goodnight sleep and we will continue everything in the morning."
Madeline and Riley nodded as they climbed off of their parent's lap and got into bed.
" Goodnight Girls Amy said as she gave each of her daughters a kiss and a hug.
"Sweet dreams you two. Paul said.
The twins fell asleep as soon as their heads hit the pillows. "Paul and Amy watched their two children for a moment before climbing into bed themselves.
"Amy sighed "I'm so upset with Kathy for what she did. Amy said.
"I know but she's in jail now and can't hurt them ever again. So let's forget about it for right now and get a goodnight's sleep. Tomorrow will be a busy day. As Paul turned out the light.
Amy said Forgot about it?! Paul this is serious. Once we are Back in Texas I'm going to have the girls checked out with Dr Williams, our Family doctor. When we get back to Paris, I will request for Madeline and Riley Doctors records to be Sent to Dr William's office" we need to make sure Both twins are Fine.
"Amy why do you need to sign Riley up for swimming lessons she said that Kathy taught her how to swim." Paul asked
I know Riley can Swim but i wanted to see it for myself and Paul Please watch your voice, your shouting frighted Maddie a little bit" Amy said
Paul said sorry Amy. "I know you are "
Amy sighed. "I just can't help feeling angry for what Kathy did to both of our girls.
Paul kissed his wife. "Don't worry sweetie Madeline and Riley are both safe.
"Yeah I know." Amy said as she fell asleep.
Paul just couldn't fall asleep though, getting out of bed and walking into the sitting area,
Paul said to himself "I better call Miss Clavel and tell her that Madeline and Riley will be back in a couple of days. Paul then dialed the phone number to the old house.

Meanwhile back in Paris, the 11 other little girls had just finished brushing their teeth, when the phone rang. Miss Clavel hurried downstairs to answer it. "Hello?" "Miss Clavel hello this is Paul Fogg Madeline and Riley's father."
Miss Clavel smiled. "Hello Paul, how are Madeline and Riley doing? The girls have been asking about them."
Paul said "Madeline is making great progress in her recovery and Riley is just great.
"I'm so happy to hear that." Miss Clavel said.
Paul agreed. "Yes I'm also calling to let you know that we will be returning to Paris in a couple of days."
Miss Clavel heard footsteps and looked up to find the little girls peeking over the stair railing.
"The other girls who were kidnapped will be coming to Paris as well. "Paul said
"I see well, have a safe trip back, and we are looking forward to having Riley and Madeline back." Miss Clavel said as she ended the call.
Miss Clavel turned to the 11 girls and said, "Girls I have just gotten the news that Madeline and Riley will be back here with us soon."
The girls cheered.
"Can we throw a party to welcome them back?" Nicole asked.
Miss Clavel nodded then she said now it's time for bed.
The little girls nodded and went up to bed.

Back in Vienna
The next morning was sunny and bright. Amy and Paul were happy that Madeline didn't have any nightmares from the night before. After the family was dressed, they headed down to breakfast.
"Good morning Madeline, how are you doing?" Fifi asked as Madeline sat down next to her.
"I'm doing well, however I'm ready to go back home to Paris." Madeline said.
Fifi nodded.
As the girls ate their breakfast, Paul and Amy were talking with the other parents.
"It will be sad when all the girls have to say goodbye to one another. Tina said.
"Yeah I know." Amy agreed "I wish there was a way for them to all be together."
The other parents nodded.
After breakfast, Amy and the other parents took the girls to the playground. After the playground everyone went back inside. "After getting back to the hotel room,
Paul said. We better start packing. We are leaving for Paris after breakfast tomorrow.
"Really dad?" Riley asked.
Paul nodded Madeline and Riley smiled and hurried to start packing. As the group was packing,
Paul got a call from Paris. After the call was over,
"Amy come here for a moment please." Paul said
"Paul is everything alright?" Amy asked.
Paul nodded "I just got a call from two officers who want to interview the twins at Kathy's house when we get to Paris."
"Oh dear I hope this won't frighten the girls." Amy said.
"Don't worry the officers will let us be with them." Paul said
Amy gave a huge sigh of relief. "I'm glad about that. Also after we drop both of the twins back with Miss Clavel, We're going to have to take Alice and Maxwell back home to Texas so they can't miss anymore school.
Paul nodded. I agree we will just have to make sure that Madeline knows that we won't abandon her." Paul said.
Amy nodded. After everyone was finally packed, (Which took all day) Everyone went to bed early.

The next morning the Fogg family was up bright and early. The family then went downstairs for breakfast. After breakfast, the large group of parents and kids left for the train station.
At the station, Paul picked Madeline up as he didn't want his daughter getting lost in the crowd of people. The family found their seats and sat down. After a few minutes the train started to roll.
After a few minutes of silence, Amy said "Madeline, Riley when we get back to Paris, some officers want to talk to both of you."
Madeline looked nervous. "Are they going to tell us that we can't be around you or dad anymore?" Madeline asked as she started to bite her nails. (A nervous habit she had started while being in the factory.)
Amy gathered both twins in her lap. "No, of course not." Amy said hugging Madeline and Riley tightly. "
"The officers just want to ask the both of you questions about when you lived with Kathy." Paul said.
"Aunt Kathy won't be there will she?" Riley asked.
Paul and Amy shook their heads. "Girls Kathy isn't your Aunt at all.
"She's not?" Madeline and Riley were shocked.
"No, she only pretended to be your aunt so she wouldn't be caught for kidnapping the both of you." Paul told his two shocked daughters.
"Also we want you to know that once we drop you both off with Miss Clavel, We have to take Maxwell and Alice back home to Texas so they can go back to school." Amy said.
Hearing that, Madeline's eyes filled with tears. "What's wrong sweetheart Paul asked?"
"I.. If you and mom are leaving us we will never see you both again." Madeline sobbed.
"Oh Maddie that's not true." We will never leave you girls." Amy said as she comforted her little girl. "We'll be back soon I promise."
"That's right, Maddie Families never will leave one another." Maxwell said.
Madeline sniffed and nodded.
Amy adjusted Madeline in her arms and said "Why don't you take a little rest, you were up pretty early and it will help you feel better."
Madeline was tired but before she fell asleep, she asked "Do you think we could introduce Alice and Maxwell and the other girls to Miss Clavel and our friends and have a sleepover?"
"You'll have to ask Miss Clavel that." Paul said with a chuckle.
Madeline nodded once again as her body relaxed and her eyes closed.
Amy leaned down and gave her a kiss on the cheek and put a blanket over her.
Meanwhile a boy who had been in the same nursery school in Texas, as Madeline and Riley noticed Madeline and Riley. Riley however saw the boy keep sneaking glances at Madeline whenever he was walking down the hall of the train and her eyes narrowed angrily.
"oh my Gosh it's Madeline she and her family must have moved here to Paris. I gotta try and take my shot with her." Stewie said.
A few hours later the train arrived back in Paris. The large group of parents and kids got off the train. Paul was now holding Madeline (Who was still asleep) in his arms. After agreeing to meet up at a restaurant for dinner
Stewie ran after Riley think she was Madeline
Stewie said Madeline waited up please
Riley said boy you are from the Train and has been looking at my sister the whole time. Well my sister doesn't need a stalker, So get out of our way. Riley said.
And what if I don't?" Stewie said.
Riley's eyes narrowed as she said then you have to deal with me. With that Riley Punched Stewie in his eye making him cry out in pain. Now stay away from my little sister now beat it"
Maxwell gasped at here younger sister's strength as he said "Riley you took on a teenager you are only seven years old you can be sweet and little feisty when you want to be."
Riley said yeah, however it would be best if we didn't tell Madeline about the Teenager Maxwell."
Or Mom and dad Alice said as she was impressed with Riley's strength as well.
After walking out of the train station,
the Fogg family said goodbye to the other girls and parents and got a taxi to take them to the hotel. After checking into the room,
Paul laid Madeline down on the bed. "Well who wants to order some lunch?" Paul asked "Me Riley, Maxwell and Alice said."
A yawn was heard and Amy and Paul looked over to find that Madeline was awake.
"Well hello there sleepyhead did that nap help?" Amy asked.
Madeline nodded.
"We were just about to order some lunch. What do you want? Paul asked as he gave Madeline the room service menu.
After deciding on a cheese sandwich,
Madeline looked at herself in the mirror. "Riley, do you think our friends will tease me about my hair?" Madeline asked her sister.
"You won't have to worry about that sis if anyone makes fun of your hair, they're going to have to deal with me first." Riley said.
Madeline laughed and smiled.
The whole family started to laugh and they sat down to lunch.
"Maxwell said believer me Riley isn't playing Maddie?
After lunch the family walked to what used to be Kathy's house. The officers weren't there yet. Madeline and Riley were nervous when they heard their names being called.
"Riley, Madeline! The twins looked up to see their friend Emily coming towards them.
"Hi Emily." The twins said as they hugged one another.
"Where have you two been? I've not seen you both in a while.
"Let's just say we had some stuff we had to take care of." Riley said.
"Emily meet our mom and dad and our brother and sister. Madeline said.
"Hello I'm Emily, a friend of these twins."
"Hello Emily, it's nice to meet you." Amy said.
"you know there've been so many officers coming in and out of this house there arms loaded with boxes." Emily said.
"Interesting." Riley said.
Just Then Helen and Mathew came out of the house. Seeing Madeline and Riley,
Helen and Mathew smiled. Madeline, Riley it's so good to see you two."
Mathew nodded as he and Helen pulled the twins into a huge hug. After the hug, Madeline and Riley introduced their parents.
Helen said "It's nice to meet you both. Miss Clavel told us what happened.
Amy said yeah.
Helen then invited the group into the house for a cup of tea. Since the family had a little time, they accepted. Inside Emily's house,
Paul asked. So since you lived next to Kathy, has she cared for our girls?"
Helen and Mathew looked at each other.
Helen then said. "Well when the twins were little, Kathy did take care of them. However when they got older, Kathy started to abuse the twins more.
Amy gasped and asked, "What do you mean abuse them?"
Mathew said Well for starters Kathy has always had a short temper and when she got angry she tended to hit the twins hard.
Paul and Amy gasped.
Helen nodded and said one day Emily and I came to Kathy's house to invite the twins to dinner. That's when we saw Kathy get mad at Madeline and slap her across the cheek.
Paul and Amy gasped once more as they pulled Madeline and Riley into their laps.
Mathew said over the next few months, Helen and I saw Kathy get more abusive to the twins. and so Helen and I made the decision and after talking to Miss Clavel and the child welfare office, Helen and I were able to have Madeline and Riley stay with us instead of Kathy.
Helen said and once Madeline and Riley started staying with us, we found out that Kathy had been keeping Miss Clavel out of the loop about some of her health issues.
What kind of health issues?" Paul asked. Since the girls were kidnapped when they were three our family doctor back home never told us that Madeline had any health issues.
Matthew said well we have a list of medicines that we've gotten for Madeline.
The family followed Mathew and Helen to the kitchen where Helen gave Paul and Amy the list of medications that Madeline was taking.
Paul and Amy looked at the list.
It says that Madeline has gotten stomach aches from milk?" Amy asked.
Oui but doctor Chon isn't sure if it's just a rare thing or if it's a bigger problem. Helen said.
Paul nodded and said well thank you so much for this list we will get the girls checked out at our family doctor.
Amy nodded agreeing with her husband. Amy said "Well thank you so much for looking after our girls all these years."
Helen smiled and said "It was no trouble, Mathew and I would do it again in a heartbeat. if you two can't make it to Paris just let us know and we take care of the girls.
After leaving Emily's house. The family walked back next door to Kathy's former house.
A few moments later a police car pulled up. The two officers got out. "Hello I'm officer Bing and this is officer Pheebs." Hello I'm Paul and this is my wife Amy and our children Maxwell, Alice, Riley and Madeline." Paul introduced everyone. Officer pheebs then got down on Riley and Madeline's level. Madeline and Riley we just want to ask you some questions if that's alright with you. "Riley nodded but Madeline looked nervous." Officer Bing saw this and got to Madeline's level, in a calm voice the officer said, "It's alright I know this is a little scary for you after what you went through. "Your parents are welcome to stay with you."
Madeline nodded.
"Alright let's go inside now. Officer Pheebs led the family inside the house.
Inside Madeline and Riley sat down on the couch.
"Madeline, what do you remember about living with Kathy?" Officer Bing asked? His voice very calm.
"Whenever we stayed here, we usually did chores all day." Madeline said her voice quiet.
"Could you show us the room that you two slept in?" Officer Pheebs asked.
Riley nodded as she and Madeline led the group down the hall. Riley opened the door.
"Hmmm two small beds, one little table with a lamp however there's no toys in here at all. "Kathy never believed in toys; she said they were too loud and messy Riley said looking down at her feet.
As she was a little nervous as well.
"I see, all you girls did was eat, sleep and work in this house?"
Madeline and Riley nodded.
Paul and Amy were shocked at what their twins had said.
As the group walked back through the den,
Alice saw something shiny from under the couch. "Alice picked it up and was shocked to be holding two gold beads with little bear cubs on them.
"Mom, Dad, look what I found. Alice brought the beads over.
"Oh my Gosh I know these beads were from your first mom's necklace." Paul exclaimed, taking the beads from Alice.
" Kathy must've stolen the necklace when she kidnapped you two Amy told Madeline and Riley.
"These bear cubs are twins and represent you and Riley." Paul exclaimed. "I hope she didn't destroy the other beads.
"No dad, in fact I have the rest of the beads right here." Riley said as she handed her dad a small brown bag." Miss Clavel gave me the necklace to remind me of her and the girls." Madeline told the group.
"Well that will keep her in prison for longer on account of stealing along with kidnapping. Officer Bing said. "Oh and Also Madeline has a large reward of money for helping capture those kidnappers and she can do whatever she wants with it.
" "Wow!" Madeline was shocked.
"Thank you girls for your help. Officer Pheebs said.
The two officers then left.
"Wow Maddie what an awesome reward". Riley said, What are you going to do with it?"
"I don't know yet," Madeline said.
"Well you have plenty of time to decide my angel. Amy said. "Now I believe it's time to meet the rest of our friends at the restaurant.
When the family got to the restaurant, Madeline told her new friends about what had happened and about the reward money.
"That's awesome, Madeline." Roxy said.
"Yes it is, I'm just going to miss you all so much. Madeline said.
"Well we don't know what's going to happen or where we will be going to school yet so you may see us. Anne said.
"Well mom and dad are dropping us back at Miss Clavel's school tomorrow so maybe you could come meet my other friends and hopefully stay for a sleepover.
"Oh can we mom?" Anne asked.
"Well as long as Miss Clavel doesn't mind I don't see why not. Everyone cheered. After dinner the girls and parents left the restaurant and returned to the hotel for the evening.
at 11:15 pm
Riley said Mom Dad wake up"
Amy said Riley what are you doing awake so late?"
Riley said Mom we need You it Madeline she's in Pain
Amy and Paul quickly got out of bed and went over to Madeline's bedside.
Maddie are you alright? Amy asked
My stomach really hurts mom." Madeline said.
Amy then went to her bag and pulled out an antacid pill for kids.
A few moments later Madeline settled down as the pain in her stomach had settled as well.
Paul then went over and looked at the list of health issues that Helen had given them earlier.
Paul then said, Amy maybe Madeline is lactose intolerant? She did have a cheese sandwich at lunch. And a bowl of ice cream for dessert at dinner.
Amy said Hmmm maybe I do remember that when she was in the Nicu that she did have some issues when it came to feeding her milk. We will ask Dr Williams when we get back home. Paul nodded. As he just wanted the very best for both Madeline and Riley.
The next day Madeline and Riley woke up to find their school uniform clean and ready for them. Madeline and Riley sighed. "It was nice to wear normal clothes for a while." Riley said. After the girls got dressed the family had a quick breakfast. After that Madeline and Riley and everyone else got into a taxi which drove them to the old house. Madeline and Riley led everyone to the front door.
Riley knocked on the door. Miss Clavel opened it "Oh Riley and Madeline It's so good to see you both again." Miss Clavel exclaimed as she hugged the twins tightly. Miss Clavel then looked at Riley's hair and said "Oh Riley I love your hair.
Riley smiled and thanked her teacher.
Madeline said "Miss Clavel, these are my friends. Madeline introduced her new friends to her teacher. I was wondering if they would be able to stay for a sleepover along with my brother and sister?
"I think that would be alright since it's your first night back here in a while." Miss Clavel said.
Madeline smiled. "Where are the others?"
"Oh they're out back playing with Pepito and steven. "Why don't you go and surprise them why I talk with your parents." Miss Clavel said.
"Okay follow me everyone." Madeline yelled.
"Inside voice Maddie." Amy called with a chuckle."
Well all of you please come in." Miss Clavel said.
Madeline led her new friends around to the back of the vine covered house. As soon as she turned the corner, a happy bark was heard and Madeline soon found herself on the ground being licked by Geneive Marie. "Aw Genieve how I missed you so." Madeline said with a laugh. "Girls, this is our dog Genevie Marie."
"I remember you telling us you had a dog Madeline." Fifi exclaimed petting the dog.
"Come on, let me introduce you to the others." Madeline said as she and the girls walked around the corner to find her other friends playing catch.
"Room for one more?" Riley called.
The 11 girls stopped, looked up and gasped. "Riley, Madeline You're back! Chloe explained happily as she and the others ran towards the girls.
Madeline and Riley soon found themselves in a huge group hug. "We missed you Madeline." Nicole said, How are you doing."
I'm almost fully recovered. Madeline said as she hugged Pepito. "I want you all to meet my friends from the lace factory.
After introductions were made everyone went back inside. After the arrangements were made, The lace shop girl's parents said goodbye to their girls and left them to enjoy a fun sleepover.
Amy and Paul gave their kids a hug as well. "We will see you tomorrow girls. Paul said.
Bye Dad." The twins called. Come on everyone, let's have some fun.
Everyone had a fun filled day full of laughter. That night after special dinner (Consisting of Madeline's favorite foods) and a movie. The girls climbed into their cots in the guest room. And instantly fell asleep.
The next morning after breakfast the girls and the Fogg siblings had some more fun. Late in the afternoon the Girls from the lace shop got picked up. Madeline hugged each one of them.
"See you soon girls. Madeline called to her new friends.
Paul and Amy soon came to pick up Maxwell and Alice. "After talking to Miss Clavel about what would happen if Madeline felt nervous or scared,
Paul and Amy came to say goodbye to the twins. "We will miss you both so much. Paul said, hugging his girls tightly.
"Mom, dad, Please don't go." Madeline said.
"Oh don't worry Maddie we will be back very soon I promise." Amy said.
Madeline nodded. give them one last hug and many kisses, Paul and Amy left.
"What an interesting hairstyle Sylvie said seeing Madeline's hair.
"Yeah Madeline said. Her hair was growing back but it was still short.
Nicole then said "Riley wasn't your hair black. Riley explained to her friends what Kathy had done all those years ago.
Seeing Madeline's hair though Chloe got an idea which she knew would make Madeline feel better. She told everyone and the rest of the girls agreed.
It took Madeline a few days to get used to everything again. With the help of Miss Clavel, her friends and her sister, Madeline soon was back to her cheery self.
