The next day, Serena sat with Percy at breakfast. She had to admit, it was a bit weird; the young demigod had grown used to the chatter and jokes the kids at the Hermes table would always make. Sure, Percy was nice and all, but it wasn't the same.

"Whatcha thinkin' about, Serena?" Percy seemed to pick up on her thoughts.

"Hm? Oh," it took Serena a moment to realize that he was talking to her. "I just kinda miss the chatter the Hermes kids would make. It reminds me of my little brother."

Percy's eyes widened. "Wait. You have a brother you didn't tell us about?"

"Chill out Percy!" Serena held her hands out in front of her. "He's not a demigod. Just mortal."

"Oh. Wait," Percy seemed to be thinking hard about something. "So you grew up with two parents and a little brother?"

"Yeah, but I don't think it was just that I was living with a stepdad." Serena sighed.

"Like, you were adopted or something?"

"Yeah, something like that." Serena looked around and was surprised to see campers leaving already. "Uh, Percy?"

"Yeah?"

"What's on the schedule for today? People are already leaving."

"What? Oh," Percy seemed to realize the people standing up around them. "Uh, well, we kinda have the day off, since it's Saturday. You can do whatever you want."

"Cool." Serena stood up. "I'm gonna go for a swim."

Even though Will had said that he'd let Serena off the hook, he didn't say that he wouldn't keep an eye on her. He watched as she and Percy talked at their table, Serena absentmindedly eating a strawberry while Percy seemed to be upset about something. By the time Percy had calmed down, people were standing up to leave. Serena finished her strawberry and walked out of the pavilion. Will still had some of his toast to finish, and he wouldn't leave without his cabin finishing first, so he stayed for another fifteen minutes or so.

When Will had finally gotten away from his cabin, he ran into another problem. A problem named Nico di Angelo. The son of Hades seemed to notice Will looking around camp, so naturally when Will hoped that he would be ignored, Nico walked right up to him.

"You're not looking for Serena, are you?" When Will didn't answer, Nico seemed to come to his own conclusion. "Gods, why can't you just leave people to their own peace?"

"Uh, well, I-"

"Save it, Solace." Nico stopped him. "If it really means that much to you, she's at the beach."

"Thanks, Nico. Uh, I mean..." Will realized that he had pretty much just told Nico what he was doing. "Nevermind. I can never get anything past you, Death Boy."

"I told you not to call me that!" Nico attempted to regain his composure. "Ugh, just...ugh. Don't you have some spying to do?"

With that, Will just walked away, heading towards the beach. When he got there, he saw a pair of green sneakers sitting on the shore. Will recognized them as Serena's, and he scanned the water for her.

"Whatcha doin' here, Solace?" asked a voice from behind Will. He jumped and spun around to find an amused daughter of Poseidon with a smug look on her face. "Jeez, you don't have to be so scared. It's not like I'm gonna attack you or anything."

"Heh, yeah...sorry." Will rubbed the back of his neck with his hand. "I was just, ah, you see-"

"Is it by any chance that you're here to 'check up' on me?" she asked, her hands on her hips. At Will's surprised look, she continued. "Nico told me your obsession of 'checking up' on your 'patients'. To me, it really just sounds like you spy on them."

"Oh." it didn't surprise Will that Nico would warn her about him. "You only got off the hook because you didn't have any serious problems."

Serena scoffed at him. "And I guess now you're second-guessing that opinion? Honestly, Will! I'm completely fine. Look."

She held her hand out towards the water, and two shapes rose out of it. One was a seashell made out of sand, the other a dolphin made out of water.

"Hey! You're not supposed to be using your powers!" Will protested after a moment of just staring at the two figures.

"What?" Serena lost her focus and the sculptures fell back into the ocean. "As you can see, I am perfectly capable of using my powers. And besides, you never told me that."

Will opened his mouth to retort, but he had nothing. He had forgotten that he hadn't told her not to use her powers.

"Yeah, you never said anything about her not using her powers." Will looked over Serena's shoulder to see none other than Nico di Angelo walking up to them. "Seriously Will? You're way too overprotective."

"Sorry, that's just the doctor in me. It's what I do best, Death Boy." Will said, smiling over to Nico. Serena, however, looked upset by something. The son of Apollo frowned. "What is it Serena?"

"Why did you call him that?" she questioned, looking accusingly at Will.

"What?"

"Why did you call him 'Death Boy'? He has a name, you know." her glare intensified.

"Serena, it's fine. It's just a nickname." Nico tried to calm her down a bit. The glare on Serena's face loosened considerably.

"Oh. Sorry Will. I'm just a bit overprotective too, I guess." she shrugged. "Some of the friends I've made always get picked on, and it just gets me upset."

Will nodded. "I can understand that." A conch shell blew off in the distance, back towards camp.

"Come on," Serena said, walking past the two boys. "Let's go get some lunch. I didn't realize how long we've been down here."

Before they ate lunch, Chiron had announced that the Oracle, Rachel, had come to visit from Camp Jupiter, where they were trying to figure out how to fix the prophecies. Nico found her sitting at the campfire pit after lunch had ended.

"Hey, Rachel. How are the prophecies coming along?" Nico asked, sitting down next to her on a log.

"Not at all," Rachel sighed. "Not one thing from the Oracle's spirit."

"Oracle?" Serena asked, sitting down on one of the close by logs. "Like, the Oracle of Delphi?"

"Yeah, that's me. And who are you? A new camper, I'm assuming?"

"Oh," Nico realized that the two had never met. "Sorry guys. Serena, this is Rachel, the camp's Oracle. Rachel, this is-"

"My name's Serena," she held out her hand, which Rachel shook. "Daughter of Poseidon."

Rachel stared wide-eyed at Serena for a moment like she had grown another head. "P-Poseidon? So you're Percy's half-sister?"

"It weirded me out too."

"Well, finding out you're a big-deal hero's sister would weird anybody out, I guess." Rachel laughed.

"So you're the one who lives in a cave on the side of the cliff over there?"

"Yeah," soon the two girls were both laughing, and Nico smiled. He was happy that they were making friends with each other.

Suddenly, Rachel stopped laughing and went stiff. Her eyes burned green, and a matching green aura appeared around her. Nico recognized that she was about to give a prophecy.

Enchanting songs with words powered by Mist,

Words most demigods cannot resist,

From a child of the sea, success can be found,

But if the Angel can't help, the Mermaid will drown.

At the last word, Rachel collapsed and Nico caught her. Serena's skin had turned a deathly pale pale color, and she looked absolutely terrified.

"W-what was that?" She managed to stutter out.

"A prophecy." Chiron said, trotting up to them. Rachel regained consciousness and groaned.

"Well," Rachel said as she sat up. "At least now we know that works now. Even if I still hate it."

"You three meet me in the Big House. I'm calling a meeting of the head councilors." Chiron trotted back towards the Big House.

"This can't be good." Nico determined.
