Yes, this chapter title is a reference to Burnice from Zenless Zone Zero.

"So, what brings you to Penacony then? Not that I'm complaining."

Following the duo's reunion, they wasted no time in departing with Sparkle under the illusion of Robin once more. Knowing of Relon's and "Robin's" friendship, alleviating the guards of their duties for the night was an easy task. Now they simply strolled along the sidewalk basking in the beauty that was Penacony's nightlife.

"A few reasons, you being one of them." That earned a curious tilt of her head, a trait she had copied from being around Relon. "Eina came up with an idea," he began, feeling a nervous twinge emanate from within.

"What kind of idea?"

Stopping at a crosswalk, both looked forward awaiting the red light to change.

"An idea of making a family."

Sparkle could only look dumbly at him, mouth agape. A part of her ached at that prospect of him being a father but that sudden pain quickly vanished as happiness took its place. Her two most beloved people in the world were finally taking that next step. They'd make such a cute and adorable baby.

March 7th would spoil the toddler, Sparkle herself would be the mischievous aunt that taught the little one things it shouldn't learn. She'd get earfuls from Relon no doubt with Silver Wolf probably taking her side. It'd probably inherit either's powers, maybe go down a whole new path all of their own.

Relon and Silver Wolf would be happy. Therefore she would be happy. Their time would no longer be full of adventuring and relaxing with herself. Their focus would go to the child they brought into the world.

They wouldn't have any need for her anymore.

No.

That wasn't right. They'd definitely make time for her, the same as March. Relon and Silver Wolf wouldn't desert their companions, especially those close to them even if they gained the duties of parenting. They wouldn't.

Although, that possible future still scared her all the same.

The hand that rested atop her chest clenched at the foreboding thoughts that lingered.

She knew her mind wasn't right, she was unique. That was why such things existed in her head, whether she had control or not of such thoughts. She would only accept their happiness.

After all, they deserved it. Not her…

"Sorry, that was poorly worded," he sighed, tapping his forehead in reprimanding. Those words alone shifted her forlorn expression to confusion.

"Huh?"

Suddenly the light changed. As civilians from both sides passed, they remained. Onlookers awed in whispers of a celebrity such as Robin out and about but that didn't matter. She wanted- no. She needed to know.

"We're making a family but not the adult kind, you know. No one's getting pregnant. Not yet at least," he chuckled, scratching his head bashfully.

Her eyes couldn't help but notice the slight blush that manifested along his cheeks.

"Then what kind?"

She felt it. A tinge of hope, the feeling of still being needed. Wanted even by one of the people she admired most.

Then he turned to face her. It made her jump slightly, despite how calmly he did it. The countless eyes that passed by meant nothing to her.

Penacony was a place where dreams could become a reality. So could a dream, once made so soon before actually come true? Was it selfish for one who had only recently had their eyes opened for a second time to a world filled with love and opportunity to wish?

"A kind with you in it, Sparkle." Those words, such tender and endearing, apparently gave Sparkle her answer. "We're recruiting people, friends to join our family. Of course, it wouldn't just be friends," he continued, evidently as he did the redness deepened a shade. "Eina and March are… ahem, opening up our relationship you could say." That alone made her eyes glimmer in understanding. "We talked and so far Asta has joined as one interest romantically. We also recently adopted a doomsday beast we named Tear. Not just anyone can say they have a pet dragon I suppose," he chuckled awkwardly.

"So then…" She hesitated from the sheer pace her heart was now racing. It couldn't be so, could it?

There was no mention, no hint over the countless times she's spent with Silver Wolf. Said logic screwer knew Sparkle loved them both. Fondly as friends close enough to deem as a family but also romantically. It wasn't a hidden truth, Sparkle openly admitted it when around them both how much they meant to her.

She was blunt as was Silver Wolf. That was why they had such great chemistry bouncing off the other. Even Relon, past his kind and meek self, was blunt when they riled him enough. But throughout their time together, to suddenly just bring this out of nowhere sent her head and heart into a daze.

Throughout that unfathomable ordeal Sparkle now had, she only could think of one thing as the bottom line. One single factor that would make everything else she's thought up to now not matter.

"Then," she began, lips quivering in fear. If she said her next words now, she would either have her heart broken or it would explode. "Are you here to… to ask me to join? Or not?" She discarded her mask, uncaring of whoever could see them.

She wanted to hear his answer as Sparkle. As a girl whose eyes were fixed by one and heart stitched by another.

"Eina wants you to join," a lump formed in her throat.

He didn't specify himself. Had he simply put Silver Wolf first as priority? There was still a chance right? He loved her and March. It was only two, now three with the addition of Asta supposedly.

Even as she gritted her teeth, her lips wouldn't stop trembling. She felt cold and she didn't know why. Arguably her own sun that lit up her life was right in front of her and she was trying desperately to grasp his warmth. She could see it, hear it, sense it even but her own body simply couldn't feel it.

"And… you?" She hated this feeling, she wanted to get it over with and yet hesitation was so apparent that she was frightened by a harsh possibility.

Relon wasn't a cruel person. He was kind, he emanated a sense of security, of safety that few could have. Even without being an Aeon Child, he always fought to protect those despite the risk. He saved Acheron, he saved Rappa, March too and even herself in more ways than solely one. He was genuinely a kind person to have as a friend.

Eina was his other half. The yin to his yang. They were always together. Their personalities bounced seamlessly off the other. She was his rock, his safety blanket when he needed to get away from it all. Then there was March. The amnesiac was a bundle of love and positivity shrouded their own horrid pasts from ever resurfacing. Asta was full of kindness but above that was a level head. She was the director for a major organization under one of the Genius Society's best.

He had a stack of women all capable of so much so why would he have a need for someone who was lost on the path of life all their life? He had enough, they likely only wanted a few people that they've known. Even if Silver Wolf said she wanted Sparkle herself, that was only one vote. Relon still needed to cast his own opinion of the chaotic good girl.

"Deep down, I still don't know if this is right." Here it came… "To accept that which I was given in such a way."

It was fine. She didn't want to cause what was already good to break. She'd rather remain close than have to hear his answer if it meant not experiencing such wonders.

"It's okay. You don't have to force yourself." She tried to turn but his hand grabbed her own. It was as soft as the day they first touched. So full of care and consideration. He was strong, rightfully so but even he knew how to treat those more fragile.

Only in looking back did his own face furrow at the sight of streaming droplets. She hated it. Feeling this way. He hadn't said that important sentence and already her body had begun to dread the ill future that would be birthed when he did.

"I'm not forcing anything. I'm only accepting what I've been blind to."

Then he leaned forward, dipping his head only slightly before capturing her lips. Her eyes, arguably wider than ever before, only stared in disbelief. She had jokingly pecked him and Silver Wolf, even March on occasion but it had only ever been on the cheek. A gesture of friendship so to speak. To think so many feelings would emanate from a single gesture not of her own volition but Relon's; it was mesmerizing.

Even as the clock tower far off struck midnight, the echoing chimes foretold more than the start to a new day.

It marked the start of a chapter for her new family.

Qrious writ3r: Sparkle isn't Harmony, she's Elation, the only reason why she's Harmony is due to gameplay reasons but she is Elation lore-wise.

Kind of like how Fu Xuan follows Erudtion but gameplay-wise is Preservation.

I am aware though for this story I'm sticking to most characters' in-game paths. That and for a few like Fu Xuan and Luka I have too many plans as is.
