The next day, Archie was enjoying a rare day off from work. Deciding to make the most of it, he headed over to see one of his best friends and groomsmen, Jughead Jones. As he arrived at Jughead's apartment, he knocked on the door and waited.
Jughead opened the door, a surprised smile spreading across his face. "Archie! What brings you here?"
"Hey, Jughead. Just thought I'd check in and see how you're doing," Archie replied, stepping inside.
Jughead led him to the living room. "I'm good, just working on some writing. How's everything with you and Veronica?"
Archie sighed, plopping down on the couch. "It's been a bit crazy with the wedding planning. Veronica's been really stressed."
Just then, John B. Routledge emerged from the bathroom, his face lighting up when he saw Archie. "Archie! What's up, man? What are you doing here?"
"Hey, John B. Just catching up with Jughead," Archie answered, smiling at his friend.
Before they could continue their conversation, Archie's phone rang. He glanced at the screen, seeing Veronica's name. "Hang on, guys. It's Veronica."
Archie answered the call. "Hey, Veronica. What's up?"
"Archie, do you want to get a new wedding dress at Bridal Bliss? Tabitha recommended it to me while I'm setting up the wedding cake tasting," Veronica said, her voice filled with urgency.
Archie furrowed his brow. "A new wedding dress? Why don't we go together and do a fitting?"
"No, Archie. I need you to get the wedding dress today. I'm too busy with the cake tasting," Veronica insisted.
Archie felt a wave of frustration rising. "Veronica, I don't think I can just go and pick out a wedding dress. Shouldn't we do this together?"
The argument escalated quickly. "Archie, we don't have time to do everything together. Just get the dress!"
Archie's patience was wearing thin. "Why can't we do it today?"
"Because I'm busy, Archie!" Veronica snapped.
Archie rubbed his temples, trying to keep his cool. "Veronica, it's impossible for me to do this alone. Can't you see that?"
Veronica's tone turned icy. "If you can't handle this, then maybe you don't care about the wedding as much as I do."
Archie felt his frustration boiling over. "Veronica, I care about this wedding, but you're not listening to me. Either we go together, or you get it yourself."
Veronica fell silent for a moment, then gave him an ultimatum. "Fine, Archie. If you don't get the dress today, then don't bother showing up at Bridal Bliss at all."
Archie couldn't take it anymore. "You know what, Veronica? If you're going to be like this, we need to rethink our approach to this whole wedding planning. I'm not your errand boy."
With that, he hung up the phone, feeling a mix of anger and sadness. Jughead and John B. watched him, concerned.
"Archie, what happened?" Jughead asked.
Archie sighed, slumping back on the couch. "Veronica's stressing out about the wedding and wants me to get a wedding dress by myself. It's impossible, and she won't listen."
John B. put a hand on Archie's shoulder. "Man, wedding planning can be tough. But you two need to communicate better. Maybe sit down and talk things out calmly."
Archie nodded, taking a deep breath. "Yeah, you're right. I'll try to talk to her again later."
The rest of the afternoon passed with Archie trying to enjoy his time with Jughead and John B., but his mind kept drifting back to the argument with Veronica. He knew they needed to find a way to balance the stress of wedding planning without tearing each other apart.
That evening, Archie decided to call Veronica again. He hoped that they could have a calmer conversation and find a solution together.
Veronica answered after a few rings, her voice tense. "What is it, Archie?"
"Veronica, I'm sorry about earlier. This whole wedding planning is getting to both of us," Archie began, trying to keep his tone gentle.
Veronica sighed. "I know, Archie. I'm sorry too. I just want everything to be perfect, and I'm feeling overwhelmed."
"We need to work together on this. How about we make a plan to go to Bridal Bliss together tomorrow?" Archie suggested.
Veronica hesitated for a moment before agreeing. "Okay, Archie. Let's do that. We'll go together and find the perfect dress."
Archie felt a wave of relief. "Great. We'll get through this, Veronica. I promise."
As they ended the call, Archie felt hopeful. They still had a lot of planning to do, but he knew that as long as they faced it together, they could handle anything.
