Chapter 25: Radio Killed the Video Star - Part 1
Anya was in her room again, looking sullen. Once again, she had been sent to her room, while Charlie, Vaggie, and Angel Dust chatted in the lounge.
She wanted to discuss more about what she had learned both from the news and from Charlie's mind. What would it hurt if they let her help with this, too? She might only be a child, but that didn't mean she was helpless and stupid.
The little girl was now watching her favorite TV series on the television she had received as a gift in her room. That made up for it, at least. But still, she wanted to help the princess and everyone at the hotel as much as she could.
After all, they had done so much for her, and she wanted to give back to them. But as long as they were acting like doting mothers to her, she couldn't even leave her room, not even to peek downstairs. They would know.
But out of nowhere, an explosion sounded from downstairs. Quickly, Anya jumped out of bed and opened the door to her room. From the top of the stairs, she saw a hole in the wall of the lobby.
Quickly, she ran down the stairs and rantowards the door to see what was happening from outside.
She spotted a ship floating above, and the person inside seemed to be talking to someone. Hearing Alastor's voice asking if she knew the person on the ship, she realized that this stranger was after the Radio Demon.
She saw that the person introduced himself as Sir. Pentious: Inventor, architect of destruction and a villain extraordinaire. That made the little girl's eyes shine, there was a villain in Hell? She felt excitement fill her chest, imagining that Alastor would fight against his possible archrival.
She heard Niffty comment that him was a bad boy, excitedly, while the Radio Demon just replied. - "Ha, well if all that's true, you'd think I'd have heard of you."
"I attacked you literally last week." - Sir. Pentious replied, which made Anya's eyes shine even , before she got there, the two of them had "fought" with each other. She then turned to Alastor, who had cocked his head in response, as if trying to remember.
"We've done battle, like... 20 times?" - Pentious replied again, getting frustrated. - "Well, you must have been really bad at this." - the Radio Demon replied, in a sarcastic tone of voice.
The little girl then looked back to where Sir. Pentious's voice could be heard, where he was talking villain nonsense and blah blah blah. Until something caught both her and Niffty's attention.
""For when I've ssslain you, the almighty Vees will finally acknowledge me as their equal."
"Ooh! Wait, who are the Vees?" - the girl in red asked, excitedly curious. - "Oh, nobody important." - Alastor replied disdainfully, as he directed his gaze to the ground. Anya glanced at him briefly, trying to remember what he had taught her about the Overlods or something, but to no avail. But something about that name made her feel a bitter taste on her tongue, though she didn't know why.
In the Vees tower, after much was involved in confusion, Vox, after seeing Velvet's situation, entered a room, where the entire place was enveloped in red smoke. From it, a tall person revealed himself in the smoke, irritated.
"Fucking FINALLY!" -shouted Valentino, as he demanded that Robo Fizz bring him another drink.
Then, Valentino started arguing with Vox about the fact that one of his whores, Angel Dust, is living in the hotel of the princess of Hell and daughter of Lucifer. Vox tried to calm him down by talking about the image of their company and everything.
In the middle of the conversation, Robo Fizz came with an envelope and handed it to Valentino, saying that the photos had arrived. With that, he opened the envelope, showing some of the photos that a private detective hired by Valentino had obtained last week, making him laugh sadistically.
One of those photos caught Vox's attention, who looked at it interestedly. - "Do you mind if I keep this photo, Val? Something tells me I'll need it, for the future." - he asked, while briefly showing it to Val.
"Sure, whatever you want. I already have enough of them, anyway. They'll be very useful for when that fucking whore sets foot here again." - Valentino replied, with disdain, before smiling mischievously again, while holding the short stack of photos in his hands.
Vox then headed to a corner, still holding the photo he chose, when Valentino revealed an important piece of information to him. - "Ya know... Angel isn't the only one spending time at this ratty hotel with the devil'sprincessa."
"Oh, who else is there? Someone who owes you money?" - he asked,as he kept the photo in his jacket pocket. - "Someone who owes us much more than money...The Radio Demon is there." -Valentino blurted out the information, short-circuiting Vox, who turned around and questioned him for not telling him this information first.
With that, Valentino just freed himself from Vox's grip and started walking towards the monitors, while putting the photos inside his red coat. - "Hey! Killing Alastor is your kink."
Vox then teleported to the center screen, which is a recording from a VoxTek Voyeur scope high in the sky, fury in his expression.
Back at the hotel, Sir Pentious was having his ship attacked by Alastor's tentacles, who was laughing maniacally as he begged for mercy. Anya had her arms up as she cheered for him to defeat the evil villain.
"Um...Alastor? I think he's had enough." - Charlie tried to smooth things over, while Angel Dust just snorted and replied sarcastically. - "Nah. He's got a few more hits in him."
That made the child briefly lower her arms, after reading the spider's thoughts. - "Mr. Dust, please..." - she muttered, to of nowhere, Sir Pentious slid out of the ship and landed on the ground in front of them.
"Thanks for another forgettable experience." - Alastor declared, in a sarcastic tone of voice. Curious, the child approached the serpent lying on the ground, while reading his thoughts.
"Thank you..." Sir Pentious muttered, raising a arm and a finger. Reading his next move, Anya thought about warning the Radio Demon, but realized that doing so would reveal her powers to others, which made her let her guard down.
"... for letting your guard down!" - shouted the serpent, pulling the child close to him, preparing to run away with her. But on impulse, he ended up graffitiing and ripping off a piece of Alastor's clothes.
Realizing the shit he had just done, Sir Pentious looks up to see Alastor's shadow transform in front of him, which made Anya also look at him, with a scared expression. The next shot shows a massive green explosion as Sir Pentious is seen flying off to the city screaming as he disappears from sight.
Anyawho had closed his eyes and was curled up, opened them one by one,while being held by the back of her clothes by one of Alastor's tentacles, who began to guide her downwards, until she was caught in the air by Angel Dust.
She then hugged him tightly, as she buried her face in his fuffly chest and whimpering apologies over and over again.
The spider began to pat her lightly, while comforting her. - "Shhh, it's okay, girl. The important thing is that you're okay, now." - he then gave Alastor a seductive smile and pointed gun fingers at himin thanks for saving her, which was ignored by the Radio Demon.
Alastor then checked the damage to his suit, while declaring. - "Well, it looks as though I need a visit to the tailor! Best of luck, chums." - just as he started to leave, Vaggie's voice was heard.
"Wait, you're leaving?! Alastor! We need your help! We need you to do your job." - "We need a wall." - Angel gestured with one of his free hands to the destroyed wall beside him. Anya briefly moved her face from his chest to look at the Radio Demon.
Alastor then turned around and commented. - "Of course! Can't let my new project fall into disrepair already. What would the papers say?!" - with that, he snapped his fingers, and several demons emerged from the ground, as he retreated.
Seeing one of them, Angel Dust giggled, as he roughly pushed Vaggie aside and gently placed Anya on the ground and patted her head, then walked towards a demon with a larger muscular.
The little girl saw him flirting with one of those demons in the distance, and smiled at him with relief. She felt a little bad for having accidentally put herself in danger, but she was surprised that Alastor had saved her from Sir Pentious. It was a shame that the kidnapping didn't happen, because she would have loved to be rescued in the end.
Back at Vees studio, Valentino was watching the whole scene of Angel Dust flirting with one of the demons, while standing close and pointing at One of the monitors. - "See?! Look how he flirts with that guy, and he's not even paying! Who is that? I'm gonna fucking kill his whole fucking family along with that little girl he was with!" - he yelled, while Vox was in the distance, growling in anger.
His left pupil turned into a tilde as he eyed Alastor leaving, his appearance static and out of focus as the screen becomes a bit static. - "That FUCKER is back!
In response, Valentino says that he had thought that the Radio Demon had gone for good, exclaims that he had been gone for 7 years, and Val asks if he was still pissed about the last beat he almost had to Alastor, which makes him angry at the comment.
Vox then smiled as he remembered that much had changed during the Radio Demon's absence and then he declared:
"I gotta send a message of who's REALLY in charge of things now!"
At the hotel, Anya was once again doing her drawings while on the floor, while Charlie and Vaggie returned and the princess threw herself on the sofa, exhausted.
She briefly listened to their conversation and Angel Dust's, while also listening to her thoughts, when out of nowhere, knocks on the door were heard. She saw Vaggie leaving the lounge and walking towards the door.
Curious, the child stood up and started to follow her to see who was at the door. The moment she opened the door, Anya heard a familiar voice, followed by Vaggie attacking the person. - "Why, hello my dear—"
Quickly, she ran to the door, and realized that it was Sir Pentious, who was lying on the ground again, while the girl was pointing her spear at the him. The serpent then began to exclaim, with a nervous smile on his face. - "Wait, wait, wait! I come in peace."
Vaggie, however, didn't seem to buy his words very much. - "What are you doing here?"
Before Anya could try to read his mind to see if what he was saying was true, Charlie appeared and asked Vaggie what was going on, before seeing Sir Pentious on the ground and greeting him. - "Oh! Hello again!"
"The bad guy is back to fight again." - Anya quickly replied, while pointing at Sir Pentious, who quickly replied. - "I didn't come looking for a fight. I uhh... I heard that you're helping people, people who want to be better?
Anya looked at him suspiciously as she read his thoughts. As soon as she did, her eyes widened briefly, until she heard Charlie gasp and run towards him in excitement. - "You heard right! Welcome to our home of healing, our resort of restoration, our-" - just as Charlie was leading him inside, Angel Dust appeared at the door and questioned her about it.
"Are you fucking nuts? This chump was trying to kill us like literally 6 hours ago! He even tried to kidnap Anya in front of us! And now you wanna bring him in here to live with us?" - with that, Anya walked next to the spider, and nodded. - "Anya is still traumatized." - she pointed out, although her tone of voice showed no fear.
And Charlie then answered both of them. - "Absolutely! This place is about second chances, and who deserves one more than this slithery... slippery... special little man!" - seeing that the princess was a lost cause, the spider then addressed Vaggie.
"Aren't you supposed to protect this place?" - before she could think to answer, Charlie gave her puppy dog eyes, which made her immediately give in. - "I guess he's not much of a threat without the war machine, or even with the war machine." - Vaggie declared, as she pointed at Sir Pentious.
With that, the princess threw herself at her, hugging her and spinning her around, and then she headed towards the serpent again. - "Oh! Thank you thank you thank you thank you! Sir Pentious! Welcome to the Hazbin Hotel!"
And then, she began to bring him inside. - "Oh no darling! Thank you! You won't regret this." - Sir Pentious declared, following her.
Meanwhile, Angel Dust and Anya shared a brief glance. - "So, what do you think, girl?" - he questioned. The little girl briefly fixed her gaze and murmured. - "Anya doesn't trust this guy."
The spider let out a sigh and declared, as he entered. - "Eh, I give you a week, tops." - then Anya followed him too, not happy with what she had discovered in that serpent's mind.
As much as she wanted to warn everyone there, that would make her reveal her mind-reading secrets, and she didn't know what would happen. So for now, she would keep an eye on Sir Pentious and wait for the right moment when his mask would fall in front of everyone, eventually.
Inside the hotel, Charlie introduced each location and each employee, starting with Husk, until Vaggie interrupted her. - "Babe, you don't have to show him every detail."
"Sorry, I'm just so excited to have our first real guest!" - the princess declared excitedly. However, that comment ended up offending both Angel and Anya. - "Uh, what the hell am I then?" - "Anya is also a guest."
Upon realizing the blunder, the princess tried to soften it. - "Well, you're an important part of our family here Angel, and you too Anya, but you uhm, uh..." - while she thought of what to say, Vaggie got straight to the point.
"Constantly make us look bad, sexually harass the staff, and have literally neveroncetried to improve? And you're just a kid anyway, Anya, so you don't count in this situation."
Charlie then quickly tried to soften the comment. - "What she means is, it's just nice to have someone interested for once." - and with that, she went back to introducing the hotel to Sir Pentious.
The child then saw Angel Dust's sad expression due to what Vaggie said about him, and then she walked over to him and hugged him on his legs, making him look at her. Anya then gave him a puppy dog look and a slight smile, which made him smile back at her and put one of his hands on her head.
Meanwhile, Charlie introduced Niffty, who upon seeing Sir Pentious, quickly ran up to him, while excitedly declaring in a frightening tone of voice. - "The bad boy is back! Never leave me again."
"We're about 80% sure she's harmless, and over here we have-" - Charlie pointed, and the moment she turned around, she almost bumped into the Radio Demon. - "Oh! Uh, Alastor! Our gracious facility manager! You've met our newest guest Sir Pentious...hehe..."
After she introduced them, Alastor pointed. - "Ah yes! You're the one who ruined my coat!" - and then, his eyes glowed red in the dark with a violent temptation to rip him a part, as he spoke in a sinister tone of voice. - "I definitely remember you now."
Watching that scene, Anya didn't know whether to root for Alastor to finish off Sir Pentious or not. She didn't even know if she wanted to see a sea of blood right there.
However, Charlie began to declare the first lesson of becoming a better person: admit when you are wrong.
The little girl wanted to snort and roll her eyes. If she hadn't read his mind, she would have believed that the serpent was genuinely sorry.
She then proceeded to listen to Sir Pentious's apology for attacking him, attempting to kidnap a child, and for ripping off a piece of his coat, as he handed her the torn piece of fabric.
Alastor took the piece, and declared. - "Ah-Ho!Not many people have been able to take eventhismuch off me, it must have meant quite a lot to you." -After that, he burned the piece of his coat in green flames, making the two look at him in disbelief, while the child hid in Dust's legs, after reading the Radio Demon's mind.
Everyone was gathered in the lounge, as a way to begin introducing themselves to Sir Pentious. Anya was on one of the sofas, holding a paper and her chimera had decided for now to pretend not to know anything and pretend to be friendly in Sir Pentious' presence, to avoid any suspicion.
After hearing Charlie declare that with a new resident at the hotel, it was important for everyone there to get to know each other. With that, she then began to introduce herself and clap her hands twice, while humming.
"My name is Charlie*claps twice* I like to sing!and when we get to know each other it's the greatest thing!*claps twice*"
Once she finished, she pointed at Sir Pentious, who began to hum and clap twice, too. - "My name's Sir Pentious*claps twice*I like to buildand despite my stupid Egg Boiz, I think I'm very skilled!*claps twice*"
Now it was Anya's turn, the little girl put the paper aside, cleared her throat and began to hum and clap her hands twice in a nervous way. - "I'm Anya*claps twice*Anya likes drawing, spies and peanuts*claps twice*but Anya hates eating carrots.*claps twice*" - she said the last part in a cold tone of voice.
When it was Angel's turn, he looked disinterested, looking up from his phone. - "This is stupid." - he replied, annoyed.
The princess then continued to hum and clap her hands again, as she approached him. - "This- is not- stupid! *claps twice* It's just a game! *claps twice* Sir Pentious and Anya did it well so now please try to do the same! *claps twice"
" I am too sober for this." - Angel replied, as if he wanted to give an excuse not to do it.
Then Vaggie answered him, while also humming and clapping her hands. - "Well, get used to it and learn how to play, this is gonna be your whole day! *claps twice*"
He then looked back forward, until he met Anya's sad gaze, as if she both felt sorry for him and begged him to do it as soon as possible. The spider then let out a sigh of surrender.
03/23/2025: Once again, I ended up making the chapter too long. While I'm still writing the second part, I hope you enjoy reading the first part of the second episode. I'll try to post the second part as soon as possible.
