Chapter 26: Radio Killed the Video Star - Part 2

Angel Dust was wearing a trench coat and a hat as he reads a script. Sir Pentious was also acting as a innocent child wearing a sailor suit, licking a comically large lollipop.

The others were sitting on the sofas, while Anya was sitting on the floor, hugging her chimera doll, looking to the scene with a somewhat embarrassed expression.

She had offered to play the role that the serpent was playing at that moment, but they didn't allow it because neither she nor Angel would know how to act together well and they would still be too soft with each other to play the role of villain and victim.

During the entire performance, the little girl sighed in annoyance, while continuing to read everyone's thoughts there, until she started to feel dizzy. Before she could either pass out or get a nosebleed, Charlie got up from the couch and started clapping, as he addressed Sir Pentious.

"Yes! Oh bravo! Bravo! Wow Pentious! At this rate, you'll be redeemed in no time."

Anya at that moment saw Angel's thoughts become sad, which made her feel sad at that moment. - " I... I'm going to bed." - he muttered as he started toward the stairs.

Before he could go up, the spider heard and turned around, as he saw Charlie showing Pentious the potential to redeem himself as soon as possible. The same potential she had given him. With that, he turned around again and started walking up the stairs, feeling even more upset and sad.

As she watched him walk up the stairs, the child felt tears begin to well up in her eyes, as her uncontrollable sobs began to escape. Charlie and the others heard this, and their focus shifted to her. The princess then approached her, as she asked.

"Anya, what's wrong? Why are you cryin-" - before she could finish her question, Anya glared at her, her anger and tears growing thicker. - "Don't you guys care?! You hurt Mr. Dust! You made him sad! You should be checking on him and not Anya!"

After saying that, she walked away from there and started running towards the stairs, still crying and hugging her doll tightly.

Charlie found herself shocked as she watched the little girl walk up the stairs, and then looked down at the ground, feeling bad and confused at the same time. What could Anya have meant by that?

After brusquely wiping her face with her sleeve, the child began walking towards Angel Dust's room to try to talk to him and cheer him up. She wanted to show him that she still saw the potential for redemption in him, even if the others in the hotel didn't.

But before she could put her hands on the doorknob, she heard an audio from the other side. Curious, she placed the chimera doll on the floor and leaned against the door. The girl then moved her hair so she could hear better.

They seemed to be audios from a person Angel knew or something. The following audios she was hearing ranged from calm to aggressive, until she heard a thought that made her break out in a cold sweat.

"You actually think you can change? Addict trash like you doesn't change. I'll see you soon, baby."

Tears started to flow from Anya's eyes again, and even though she didn't really understand, she knew that something terrible was happening to Angel that he didn't want anyone to know, not even her.

She then heard him talking to Fat Nuggets and getting up from the bed. Quickly, the little girl thought quickly and decided to pretend that she was about to open the door, so that the spider wouldn't think that she had heard everything. She picked up her doll from the floor and positioned herself as if she were going to open the door.

The moment he opened the door, Angel gave a small gasp of surprise when he saw her there. - "A-Anya, what are you-" - he questioned, while fearing that she had heard everything.

As planned, Anya wiped her tears, while hugging her quimera doll. - "Anya... Anya came to see if Mr. Dust is okay. Anya saw how you left the room, and... Anya was very worried and wanted to see if Mr. Dust was okay." - she explained, while still sobbing.

Seeing the child cry made him feel bad. Angel then closed the door behind him and bent down to her height. And then, he gently placed his finger on Anya's face and began to wipe away her tears.

The spider watched her for a few more seconds, before muttering. - "Aww, Anya. I appreciate that you noticed and cared about me. But you don't need to cry so much over someone like me."

Hearing this, the little girl threw herself at him and hugged him around the neck. - "Don't say that, Mr. Dust. Anya cares about you. Anya would cry a sea of tears for you if Anya could. Please don't say that kind of thing about yourself anymore, Mr. Dust."

That touched the spider's heart again and he wrapped his arms around her, while also allowing tears to fall from his eyes.

Anya could hear him thinking he was a terrible guardian, and so she settled her face closer to his and murmured. - "You're the best guardian Anya has ever had."

Hearing those words made Angel cry even more, as he felt a huge weight lift from his body and mind, which made the little girl smile briefly for having managed to calm him down and possibly cheer him up.

They had both gone down the stairs when a figure was heard in the lobby, taking them by surprise. Anya hugged his legs, showing fear.

With that, Angel placed one of his hands on her head again and brought a finger towards his lips as he made a "Shh" sound to her. Understanding the plan, they both began to silently follow the figure towards one of the hallways.

They then found Charlie's office door opened, and took a look inside. There, they both discovered that Sir Pentious was setting up a small camera in one of the bookshelves, a camera that Angel recognized as belonging to Vox.

Anya wondered who this Vox was, but decided to let it go for now. She jumped slightly when the spider slammed the door open and growl the serpent. - "You slippery little shit!"

Sir Pentious started and turned to face the two.

"You're working for the Vees? I fucking knew there was something shitty about you." - the spider came close to him, while Anya followed him. - "Anya too!"

Finding himself surrounded, the snake moved away a little, while declaring. - "I don't know what you're talking about!... whore bug!" - he finished with a grim smile.

This angered Angel, who threw himself at Sir Pentious and began a physical fight with him. Not knowing what to do, the child watched, while feeling excitement take over his chest and becoming excited about the fight.

"Get your aggressively average body...OFF OF ME!" - the serpent screamed, as he used his hypnotic powers on Dust, stunning him briefly. - "Fuck!" - he screamed, briefly paralyzed.

Seeing the little girl covering her eyes to avoid being hit by his powers, Sir Pentious grabbed her ankle by his tail and began to crawl away with her. Anya fell abruptly to the ground and screamed in despair as she was dragged across the ground. - "Mr. Dust!"

Quickly, Angel Dust regained his senses and began approaching Sir Pentious, who was holding the little girl in his arms, while growling. - "Let go Anya, now!"

At that exact moment, Charlie and Vaggie appeared at the entrance to the office, after hearing the commotion from their room. - "What's going on?" - asked the princess, while she and her girlfriend watched the three, in confusion.

As he held the serpent in one hand and carried Anya in his arms, Angel turned to the girls and shouted angrily. - "This little bitch is a traitor!" - The child then looked at them, tears beginning to form in his eyes and nodded. - "He grabbed and hurt Anya."

Sir Pentious broke free from the grip and began to declare, in a falsely innocent tone. - "Preposterous! I would never betray you and hurt a human child. You... are my best friends!" - he finished, as he approached the two women and hugged them.

However, the spider had a trick up his sleeve. - "Uh huh, then explain this!" - he then pulled out one of the books, revealing the camera he had hidden among the books.

The two girls found themselves in shock, while the serpent realized that he was caught. Anya, who was already on the ground, pointed in his direction. - "We caught you red-handed, bad guy."

He quickly began crawling towards the window, while screaming and trying to open it. - "Abort! Abort! S.O.S! Agent Pencioso in need of immediate evacuation!" - and then a voice was heard in a watch that was on the serpent's wrist. - "Pentious? Wait... you were caught?! It hasn't even been, a day!"

The three adults and the child heard the entire conversation between the two. After connecting the dots, Anya realized that the person on the clock was possibly a certain Vox. Could he be the leader of the Vees or something?

As soon as the call ended, she saw Sir Pentious lay on the ground in defeat as he mumbled and cried. - "I... I... just make it quick I guess...not that I deserve it."

At that moment, the child began to feel sorry for the snake, even after he hurt her and tried to kidnap her twice. She then heard Vaggie preparing to kill him, only to be stopped by Charlie. She then approached him and held out her hand, making him raise his head and look at her, as she began to sing.

The sight made Anya remember when she arrived in Hell again. However, she saw that Angel and Vaggie were holding their weapons and thought about wanting to kill him for everything he had done, from deceiving them to hurting Anya.

Charlie tried to calm things down, but both of them didn't care, but the princess persisted in giving one more chance.

At one point, Anya felt herself being pulled back and found herself behind Vaggie and Dust, who were in a defensive stance, while still watching Charlie and Sir Pentious dancing and singing. In his thoughts, the child could see that the serpent had genuinely regretted all the harm he had caused.

The moment the song ended, Niffty was in front of the door, and began to scream. - "I hated that song! Why are you so lame?!" - she then kicked him, and left the room grumbling. - "Not a bad boy."

With that, Charlie sighed and addressed Sir Pentious. - "Good first day! Let's get some rest!" - with that, they both left the office, followed by Vaggie, Angel Dust and Anya.

Out of nowhere, the little girl stopped when she felt a frightening presence behind her, and turned around in time to see someone entering the room. She looked briefly at the stairs, and then quickly walked to the still open door and peeked inside, realizing that it was Alastor, who had taken the watch that Sir Pentious had used earlier and heard Alastor say the following:

"You'll have to try harder than that next time, ol' pal!" - and then, he started breaking the clock, laughing and retreating into the darkness. And it was then that he noticed Anya's presence at the door and murmured to her.

"Hey, you should go to bed now, Anya. Tomorrow will be a long day." - and then, he disappeared.

The little girl felt chills run through her body, but she quickly regained her senses and ran towards the stairs, breathing heavily.

03/25/2025: And finally, here is part two. I managed to finish in time for the end of the day. I made some changes to make the plot more original to my writing. I don't know when I'll be able to write the next one, but I'll try to write and post it this weekend. Until then, good night to you all.
