Buffy pov
After getting everything inside I lean on the wall watching as Mom shows them some of the pieces she still has to sell.
Seeing the girl sliding closer to the door behind her Granny's back I see the woman stiffen up "Red, do not get in trouble" she says without turning around.
"Yes Granny" she grumbles before walking out smiling.
"I'm taking off Mom" I call before following after the girl.
Finding her outside I frown seeing her walking down the street "hey wait up" I call.
Jogging to catch up she looks at me chewing the gum in her mouth, her teeth seem familiar like I should recognize something but I don't know what.
"I'm Buffy" I say holding my hand out.
"Ruby, everyone calls me Red" she says nodding.
"Because the red streaks or cloak?" I ask.
"Both" she says before jogging across the street to the coffee shop.
Following her I frown, she seems so familiar in her actions but I keep drawing a blank on why.
When I join her I see her holding five sandwiches and a large coffee before she sits down in a booth.
"Mind if I join you? I'm waiting on my friends to meet me here" I say.
"Fine" she says before taking a large bite of her sandwich.
"What's Boston like?"
Ruby pov
Looking at Buffy I frown while chewing my food, she's cute I guess, maybe that's why Faith likes her but she's a little to nosey.
"Don't know I never lived there, Granny just recently moved there" I answer.
"Oh" she mutters.
"Buffy" I hear a girl call happily.
Looking up I see a red head girl leading a girl in holding her hand while a guy leads another girl in, Buffy gets up hugging the first two girls and guy as the last girl watches her suspiciously while Buffy ignores her.
"This is Red, her Granny's talking with Mom to sell some things" Buffy says motioning to me.
Nodding I go back to my food as they talk ignoring the guy watching me while breathing heavily.
"Xander" the girl snaps glaring at him after slapping his arm.
Curling my nose at the scent rolling off him I gather my food and walk off "she's kinda stuck up" the guy says.
"Maybe she didn't like how you where trying to eye fuck her"
After a few moments I hear someone jogging up behind me as I drink my coffee.
"Hey wolf" the person whisper.
Sighing I turn looking at her "I'm Anya and I like money" she says holding her hand out.
Chuckling I shake her hand "I'm Red".
"What do you like?"
Frowning I look at her confused "it's customary to say something you like"
"Ok, I like the color red" I say chuckling.
"I don't really like them other than Xander because he does sex well, but Tara's nice she never treated me like a monster after learning about my history, she was nervous but that's common for her to be nervous"
Nodding I look at her smiling at her matter of fact babbling "I use to be a vengeance demon, I eventually won Xander over, Tara's just shy but was friendly even after learning that" she finishes.
"What exactly is a vengeance demon?" I ask before finishing my coffee and throwing the cup away as she explains it.
"So you're a werewolf right?"
"I'm a wolf, similar to a werewolf but I bonded with my wolf and now during my wolf's time we both can have freedom without problems"
"Oh I've never heard of being just a wolf or the bonding"
"Was born this way, it's extremely rare I'm the last of my kind, Granny was changed but doesn't shift anymore because her age" I answer.
Moving to walk again I smile seeing Anya follow me as I head for the gallery, walking in I sit the two sandwiches down "Granny I brought lunch" I say before walking back out with the ex demon.

I always thought Anya got a raw deal with how she was treated even after supposedly being accepted by the others, so I wanted her to meet someone who enjoys her company and finds her babbling amusing in a kind way, while also being completely fine with her past and understands people judging you for your past
