Cordy pov
I fight to keep my pain hidden, I have to keep seeming strong or things can go down hill fast "so tell me of this world your kingdom's in" Regina says while holding Faith's stake.
"Need a specific question or we can't tell you anything" Faith says with a sarcastic voice.
"What's it like?" She asks vaguely.
"Women have power and control of their own life" I say remembering that was something Regina mentioned she liked.
"And these creatures?" She ask lifting the stake shaking it in a taunting manner watching Faith.
"Vamps and demons mostly, but we have the occasional odd thing like witches, werewolves, aliens, goddesses, and humans causing problems" Faith snarks while appearing to not care about the stake making Regina frown.
Emma pov
Seeing the guards and carriage round the bend out of sight I turn kicking a tree before pacing "Yes Faith, take off into Regina's castle with an injured Cordy what could be so dangerous about that" I rant softly before taking a deep breath.
"Okay I can do this" I say nodding to myself.
Sitting down I start thinking and trying to remember as many important events as possible to avoid, then I remember I have to keep my face hidden as well.
"That makes things a little harder" I mutter frowning.
Pulling my jacket off I spread it out on the ground and feel along the seam "come on, where are you I know Faith took them all to that witch" I mutter.
Finding the hidden flap I pull it uncovering padding with different types of repellent bags, flipping it I find the second level of precautions Faith insisted on.
"Travel light and be ready for anything" I mutter shaking my head.
Pulling the silver knife out I set it aside ignoring the change of clothes by it "looks like a doomsday preppers wet dream" I mutter finding light weight weapons including a folding bow with arrows, grabbing it I sigh "let's hope my aim's still good" I mutter.
A few hours later
Standing in a little village I ignore the stares as I hand out meat to people, I know their concerned and nervous but unwilling to turn down free food.
Seeing a very familiar woman looking at me I grab more then I hand the others making her Granny stiffen "where would you like this?" I ask.
Granny nods to a house a little further away from the rest, sitting every down I grab my stolen cart and pull it up the hill to her home.
Moving everything inside I look at the last seeing Granny grab it "go clean up while I handle this" she orders.
I nod knowing better then to mess with her, despite her age and being the ultimate grandmother, I know she's just as likely to shred someone with just a look or words and will put an arrow in them for crossing her.
Heading out I see Red following me to the river curiously "why are you wearing those bones?" She asks.
Chuckling I pull off my improvised armor to wash off again, once to the head I pull it off, hopefully my mask works "it's tradition in my kingdom" I say with a practiced story while making my voice rough sounding.
"What Kingdom?" She asks looking excited for any information on somewhere different.
"Hell mouth" I answer.
"That's it's name?" She asks looking at me like I insulted her.
"Yes, a hot spot for creatures who feed on humans to seek out to cause trouble, I'm part of the royal guard meant to protect anyone no matter if creatures, humans, or magical that just want to live peacefully lives"
Glancing at my reflection in the water I keep my face blank seeing the dried dirt I used berries on for paint to give myself certain traits from demons or vamps while I used berries to color my hair.
Standing up I gather my bones "so what's your name?"
Glancing at the giant Lion skull in my hands I blurt out Zira before quickly putting the skull on again while mentally bitching at myself for the name, because who's to say she's not real, that fucking fox Robin Hood's real so she could be to.
Heading to the house I follow Red in seeing Granny frown looking at me with narrowed eyes.
She holds out a cloth to me "your food".
"Thank you ma'am" I say before turning to walk away heading for Regina's castle to check on Faith and Cordy.
Cordy pov
I sit on a chair beside Regina with a bored look watching Faith fight some knights, because Regina insisted on seeing the skill my champion and consort has.
Faith drops a guard who's knocked out and she stands in the middle with her excited manic grin looking at the rest "that's enough" Regina finally calls seeing 15 out of 20 knights on the ground.
Apparently the Queen's idea of entertainment is violence since I have to stay up longer to make sure nothing's wrong with my head.
"You say she fights like this often?" Regina asks seeing Faith shadows fighting to calm down from the excitement.
"Almost nightly, there's one other similar to her in another kingdom they have fought each other before, my consort needed healers to help her, she was placed in a magically induced
sleep to heal from the damage"
"Similar?" She asks picking up that Faith's not one of a kind.
"She's called a Slayer there's only two in the entire world because the one in the other kingdom died and came back"
"Why only two?" She asks frowning.
"One girl around 15-17 is cursed to hold the power to keep the creatures back, when she's eventually killed the next in line takes over, their entire life is a battle praying it's not the one they die in, but the previous Slayer died only to be brought back, it was long enough the next was called but she was killed not long after, my consort showed up one night as the newest Slayer"
"This curse it could be passed on without truly killing them correct?" She asks watching Faith closely.
"It wouldn't work, she's tainted the Slayer line" I say to keep her from trying it.
"Tainted it how?" She asks.
"A slayer's meant to protect humans and kill the creatures, Faith killed a man on accident while fighting, but she went further into this because others tried to attack her for it and turned on her, she killed more humans and it tainted the line"
"Pitty, to have such a powerful fighter would be beneficial" she says pouting.
"Faith" I call and she looks up at me smirking.
Curling my finger she backs up and gets a running start before jumping off the wall grabbing the balcony I'm on, once she pulls herself up she holds her hand out to me "are you tired?" She asks.
"I'll have a guard show you to your room" Regina says watching us.
