Rebekah was quite annoyed as sat on the phone with her brother. She had been regulated to babysitter again while her brothers went off to Mystic falls to play hero to Caroline and her idiotic friends. She was quite frankly tired of it. She was tired of all of it. She wanted to leave this town, but both her brothers were fighting her at every turn. "How much longer are you going to be, Elijah?"

"Probably a few days. What is it that you needed? Is everything alright with Hayley? Have one of the factions tried something in our absence?" Elijah asked with concern in his voice.

"No. Everything is fine, other than me being utterly annoyed at being stuck here playing babysitter," Rebekah said.

The concern had left Elijah's voice and had been replaced with annoyance. "Rebekah, I do not have time for this! We have our hands full at the moment."

"What's the big emergency anyway? What have those idiots gotten themselves involved with this time? Have they revived another evil witch? Angered a bunch of vampires?" Rebekah asked.

"It's nothing like that this time. We were summoned to battle inner demons. Listen, I'll explain when we get home, but we won't be alone. When we return, Elena and Jeremy Gilbert will be with us," Elijah told her.

If Elijah was in front of Rebekah, she'd be glaring daggers at him right now. "What?! You invited the two people who killed our brother to come stay with us?!"

"Rebekah, Jeremy and Elena did what they did in Self-defense. Kol was trying to have Jeremy killed," Elijah said.

"I don't bloody care!" Rebekah snapped.

"Sister, the situation is complicated. I will explain when we arrive, but we've learned some very shocking things," he said.

"Like what?" Rebekah asked.

"I told you, I will explain when…"

"Elijah, just tell me," Rebekah interrupted impatiently.

There was silence on the other end of the line.

"Elijah!" Rebekah pushed.

"Alright. I wanted to have this conversation in person, but it's probably best that you know before we arrive with Elena and Jeremy. It seems that the child Hayley is carrying is not the first that one of us has created," Elijah told her.

"What? That's not possibly. Nik was only able to conceive because he's part werewolf," Rebekah said in shock. Of course, it was possible that Nik fathered another one since he broke his curse, but Rebekah wasn't an idiot. Elijah had found this out in Mystic Falls and now he and Nik were returning with Elena and Jeremy. It had to be one of them.

"Or it's because he's an Original. I don't know how it's possible. I just know that it's the truth," Elijah said.

Rebekah was silent for a few moments as she took the information in. "How positive are you that this is true."

"One hundred percent."

"Which one of them is it?" Rebekah asked. She didn't really need him to answer that question. She was pretty certain she knew the answer. Karma was a vindictive bitch.

"It's Elena," Elijah said.

Rebekah sighed. It was as she suspected. Both she and Nik had killed that girl. If either of them had had their way, Elena would've died permanently. Rebekah could only thank God that didn't happen. She never would've forgiven herself. "Who fathered her."

"Kol," he said.

Rebekah pinched the bridge of her nose. Yes, karma was most definitely a vindictive bitch. "How did this happen? Kol was daggered when Elena would've been conceived."

"It's a long story. It involves some very depraved individuals. I'll explain when we get home. Right now, I don't have much more time to talk. Elena is in a bad way right now," Elijah said.

"You said you were there to battle inner demons, and Caroline wouldn't have called unless it was dire. How bad is it?" Rebekah asked concerned. She never thought she'd be concerned about Elena Gilbert of all people. It was amazing what a difference a few minutes could make.

Elijah sighed on the other end. "It's very bad. Elena's friends called because she walked into the sun yesterday without her daylight ring on."

Rebekah's eyes widened and she jumped up from the couch. "I'm on my way. I'll be there sometime tonight."

"No, Rebekah, that isn't necessary. Elena's safe now, and I don't want to overwhelm her with more people right now. You can help us more by getting ready for our return. Have two bedrooms set up for Elena and Jeremy. And get the vampires out of the house by the time we arrive. The last thing Elena needs is a bunch of strangers hovering around. She needs peace," Elijah told her.

"Alright. Is there anything else I can do?" Rebekah asked.

"Dispose of anything you think she could use to hurt herself," he said.

"So, get rid of any vervain and wooden objects. Got it," Rebekah said. She couldn't' believe this was even happening. She never would've guessed that this was what her brothers were walking into when they left.

"Thank you, Rebekah. We'll be home soon."

"Just take care of her, Elijah," Rebekah said before hanging up.

Jeremy was in his room packing his things. He didn't know when they'd be leaving, but he figured he should be prepared. Also, it gave him something to do other than worry about Elena and think about how much he hated his father.

Soon Jeremy felt a presence behind him. He turned to see Bonnie in the doorway looking sad. "Elijah and Klaus are taking Elena to New Orleans."

"I know," Bonnie said before taking a couple of steps into the room. Caroline had mentioned overhearing them say it, but she already knew it was going to happen. Maybe that was why she was initially hesitant to call Klaus. She knew how it was going to end. "I think we all knew it was going to happen. I think deep down we even knew it needed to happen."

"I'm going with her. I have to," Jeremy said.

"Yeah, you do. You need to be with each other," Bonnie said sadly. She hated losing him and Elena, but she knew it had to happen. Jeremy and Elena needed each other more than anything, and they also needed time away from Mystic Falls. They had to find a way to heal from what had been done to them.

Jeremy walked towards her. "I don't want to break up after we just found each other again, but I don't think I can be with anybody right now. I don't think it would be fair. My life has fallen apart. I'm angry all the time, and when I'm not angry, I'm scared for my sister. I don't think I could be with you even if I wasn't leaving. I'd just hurt you. I don't want to do that again," Jeremy told her.

"I get it. I know you're going through hell, and I know you have to figure all of this out away from here. I'll always care about you, and I hope that no matter what happens, we'll always be friends," Bonnie said.

"Always," Jeremy said firmly.

"I'm going to come to New Orleans soon and see you guys," Bonnie said.

"You better," Jeremy said.

"No one is going to New Orleans!"

They both turned to see Damon in the doorway looking pissed. "Damon, walk away. This is a private conversation," Bonnie said.

"Those freaks aren't taking Elena anywhere!" Damon snarled.

"It's not up to you," Jeremy said.

"The hell it's not! She's staying right where she is!" Damon yelled.

Jeremy shook his head in disbelief. "You know, I've tried to keep an open mind because Elena cares for you, but no matter how hard I try, I cannot for the life of me understand what she sees in you. You are everything she's not. You're a selfish dick! Elena's life is in ruins! She's self-destructing more every minute, and all you can think about is yourself!"

"Elena will be fine. She just needs time to get over it," Damon said.

"What fantasy world are you living in, Damon? She walked into the sun without her daylight ring. Elijah and Klaus had to force feed her blood this morning because she was refusing to eat! My God, she asked Elijah to kill her last night! There is no part of her that is fine! She's not just going to wake up one day and be okay again. She needs help," Bonnie said.

Damon scoffed. "As if she's going to get it from the Originals! The last thing she needs is them around to corrupt her."

"You don't give a damn about what Elena needs. This is about what you need. And what does corrupting her mean? Making her see she deserves better than you?" Jeremy asked.

Before Damon could speak, he felt a painful hand grab his arm and turn him around. "Hey!"

Klaus glared murderously at the young vampire in front of him. "Keep your bloody voice down! My niece is sleeping. If your bellowing disturbs her, I will rip out your tongue!"

Damon yanked his arm free. "Screw you! You people aren't taking Elena anywhere.

Klaus raised an eyebrow and gave him a slightly amused smirk. "Really? And you think the likes of you will stop us. Once again, Damon, you overestimate your own worth. I could have your heart in my hands right now if I wanted. The only reason I don't is because Elena has yet to realize that you aren't worth caring about, and I will not take anything more from her, but do not push me. The boy's right. You care more about your own selfish desires than what Elena needs."

"And you think she needs you? The guy who murdered her and her aunt?" Damon sneered.

"You're one to talk, Damon. You broke my neck in front of Elena because she rejected you," Jeremy said. He certainly wasn't defending Klaus. He hated him for what he did to Elena and Jenna, but Damon was no better. He'd done his own fair of damage to Elena.

Damon turned and glared at the hunter. "I can see whose side you're on."

"I'm on Elena's side, now get out," Jeremy said.

Damon glared at all of them before leaving the room.

"Bonnie, love, would you mind giving us the room?" Klaus asked.

Bonnie was a little hesitant, but Jeremy was going to be living with Klaus soon, so she figured she might as well start trusting him with him. Once she got the nod of approval from Jeremy, she left the room.

"When I look at you, all I see is the little bastard who killed my brother," Klaus said.

"And when I look at you, I see the son of a bitch who murdered the closest thing to a parent I had left. I guess we're even on that front," Jeremy said.

"Fair enough. I suppose the two of us are going to have to find a way to deal with each other, if for no other reason than for Elena's sake," Klaus said.

Jeremy nodded. "I know that Elena needs you, and I can see that you care about her."

"She's my brother's child, of course I do. She needs you too. Truce?" Klaus asked before sticking out his hand for the boy.

Jeremy nodded before reluctantly taking his hand. He let go almost as quickly as he shook his hand. He didn't know if he'd ever forgive Klaus for taking Jenna's life, but he knew that he had to let it go for Elena's sake. "When do we leave?"

"As soon as I find and murder every Augustine bastard in existence," Klaus said with a sadistic smile.

"I might be able to help you with that," Jeremy said. He was the son of an Augustine member. He could probably get the others to meet with him.

"Let's chat then," Klaus said as he grinned like a lunatic.
