The Next Day; ARK; Elevator

The mood was somber as IF looked exhausted and was leaning against the wall, looking down at the floor, and Rapi and Anis were silent while staring at her.

"…How are you holding up…?" Anis asked IF and IF closed her eyes while shaking her head.

"Not… Good. I didn't sleep at all last night… And, I had to listen to Vert cry. It… Was not a good night at all," IF said in a Defeated tone, "I'm sorry… I know I should be over it, but…"

"Don't apologize for feeling," Rapi told her in a calm tone, "You're grieving… It's natural, really. Marian was a dear friend to you and your comrade. I apologize if I sound harsh…"

"No, its okay. I just… Wonder how she got corrupted and how much she suffered," IF said as she looked at them. Rapi frowned at this and went into deep thought.

"Something on your mind, Rapi?" Anis asked.

"Yes. It's just… IF makes a good point. How long has Marian been corrupted?" Rapi asked as she folded her arms, "It couldn't have been on the battlefield, as no Rapture reported had any signs of corruption on them…"

"And, no one had access to anything that could make a Nikke corrupted…" Anis said.

"Or, did they…?" Rapi said as she glanced at the girls and IF flinched at that.

"What do you mean? Someone corrupted Marian purposely?" IF asked in horror.

"From what we know, Marian had been corrupted while she was on the helicopter with you and Commander Ryu. And, I asked Suskian to confirm if you had any sort of corruption on you. You luckily don't, which is at least good news. But, that also means, theoretically… Marian was corrupted way before the helicopter ride," Rapi said as she looked out the window at the large underground station illuminated with lights below them.

"So, you're saying…" Anis said as she looked at Rapi.

"Someone on the ARK corrupted Marian. Question is… Who?" Rapi concluded.

"I have a few culprits in mind, now that you mention it…" IF said seriously as she stared at Rapi, "But, I will have to investigate…"

"We'll help you," Rapi said as she glanced at IF. IF was surprised by how quickly Rapi wanted to help.

"Not like I wasn't gonna help. Marian meant a lot to you… So, we'll give it our all to uncover this mystery."

"Same," Anis smiled.

"Thank you both. Really, thank you," IF smiled, "So, what about the Commander and Suskian? Are they helping us, too?"

"Commander will help. Suskian… Well…" Anis said as she folded her arms.

"He is with a few doctors right now… Getting checked out. We are on our way to find and meet up with him," Rapi said seriously as she folded her arms, "I hope they don't try anything weird…"

"…Which doctor?" IF asked cautiously and Rapi and Anis looked at her.

"Harlequin," Anis said and IF sucked in a breath.

"…Oh, shit," IF said as she bit her lip nervously.

Meanwhile

"Harleen, was this necessary? He didn't need to get naked," a male voice said as Suskian was being put though what looked like a cylinder like machine. A tall fair skinned man who wore military fatigues stood next to a woman with blonde hair who wore what looked like a red dress shirt and red and blue booty shorts that hugged her hips and butt as she moved around.

"Yes, he does Andy… There could be particles on his clothing that could get in the way of the scan. I know what I'm doing," the woman said sternly in a Southern drawl.

"Andersen," He said seriously as he pinched the bridge of his nose. Harley rolled her eyes and waved him off as she went back to checking the screens that littered the room.

"Hmm… Interesting. These readings are quite… Abnormal. You're stronger than a majority of the recorded Raptures. And, you're only half-human, you said?" Harleen said as she glanced at Suskian. Suskian nods his head and Harleen rubbed her chin in intrigue.

"So, what exactly are you?"

"It's a lot to explain at once. I'll condense it, if you like," Suskian offered as he looked at her. Harleen had a twinkle in her eye as she rubbed her hands together.

"Please keep it simple. Harlequin tends to take it overboard whenever she gets to have some sort of knowledge," Andersen said and Harleen glared at him while sticking her tongue out at him. Suskian explained the biology of Saiyans as well as part of his history to them as a Time Patroller, no pun intended.

"So, essentially… You're part of an alien race that gets stronger the more they fight? And, you're employed by a Goddess? I find that hard to believe."

"It would be… Had I not come from the crack in the sky yesterday," Suskian said and Andersen clears his throat.

"Touché," Andersen smirked. Harleen stood over Suskian as he came out the other side of the machine, looking his body over quickly and stopping on his midsection, looking his abs over.

"You're well built for someone your height," Harleen said as Suskian sat up, "How old are you?"

"Originally, before my second chance… 29. Now, I'd say around 21," Suskian said as he was about to stand.

"Mmm… Let's mark you as 21, for posterity sake," Andersen said as he folded his arms. Harleen went behind Suskian and touched his tail, making Suskian blush and his tail recoiled by twitching away from Harleen.

"And, the tail is definitely real," Harleen said softly, "Fascinating. The tail must be part of your Saiyan biology, correct?"

"Yes, ma'am. It's there for a reason, actually," Suskian said as he slips on a pair of black boxers.

"So, why did you come from a crack in our sky?" Andersen asked and just then…

"I can answer that," Selene's voice said out of nowhere and a blue flash of light appeared beside Suskian. A hologram of a black haired woman stood next to Suskian, "I am Selene 4.0, Suskian's AI assistant. I help him with anything he needs in any moment. Suskian here was in a life or death battle with the Demon God, Demigra… And, their battle seemed to have literally tear a hole in reality… Sending him here." Andersen and Harleen looked at each other and blinked a few times.

"Tear in reality? It sounds impossible, but here you stand. This Demigra… Would he be alive at all…?" Andersen asked Suskian. Suskian hums and thought about it.

"I… Don't know. Bastard whooped me good, but I beat him. I have no way to confirm his death, so that's a problem," Suskian said as he shook his head. Harleen and Andersen glanced at each other and frowned at this as Suskian grabs his Gi undershirt. Harleen stops him and sighed.

"Would we have to worry about…" Harleen asked him.

"If he is still around, he's my responsibility. You guys are fighting a global threat, so stick to that. Demigra and everything connecting to him is mine. It's my job to protect the multiverse, and I will uphold that promise I made to Chronoa," Suskian told her as he slips on his undershirt and continued getting dressed, "But, for now…"

"You need a place to stay, I understand. I'll get a home for you as soon as I get affairs here worked out," Andersen said as he folded his arms and glanced at Harleen, "Are they on their way?"

"Last I checked, they should be here by no-" Harleen said and the door to the lab opened and Ryu, IF, Anis, and Rapi walked in while looking solemn and serious. Suskian was finished getting dressed and smiled at them.

"Hey, guys. How you holding up?" Suskian asked them.

"…One day at a time," IF told him solemnly and Suskian nods his head to her, "What were you doing here? Tests?"

"Lab tests, yes," Harleen interjected as she walked back to a large black screen and touched the edge of the left side of it. The screen lit up and showed a bunch of percentages as well as Suskian's body.

"He's showing rather high signatures of energy surging through him, which he says comes from Ki, an energy source he is constantly using. And, he has a HUGE amount of it, twice as much as a Nikke's natural output for their core power. I've only seen an output with this much power once in my life… From a Heretic, which is when I was killed in the line of duty. A story for another day… But, this is shocking enough to prove his story correct," Harleen explained as she pushed up her glasses and pointed to many points on Suskian's body, stopping on the necklace he has around his neck, "This, however… Stumps me. It's emitting a COMPLETELY different energy output than what I'm scanning from his body."

"Oh, that's my Tarnished Charm and Melina Seal," He said as he touched the katana charm and held up his left hand, showing the seal, "My wife gave me this to help me control my elemental affinity. In other words, I can use magic as well as use a PLETHORA of weapons."

"Whoa, whoa. You have a wife?" Anis asked as she glanced at Suskian.

"Yes, wife. I've been here, the whole time… Guiding him every step of his journey," a mature voice said as a pillar of golden light appeared next to him, showing that there was a brown haired woman around his age, wearing what looked like a black crop top with the logo of a golden tree on the front of the shirt, black leggings that form fitted her thighs and rather plump butt, and wore brown shoes. She also had one eye closed with what looked like a black knife tattoo going over her eye.

"I am Melina, his betrothed and Finger Maiden. I am also the owner of the seal and charm he has," Melina said as she bows to the others, "I implore you that if you wish to be with him, I have no quarrels with that."

"Melina, you don't need to say that. I love you most of all," Suskian told her and she looked at him with a small smile.

"I know, beloved… But, I know that women flock to you like crows," she said and Suskian fell over in a comical fashion. IF snorts at this while Rapi sighed and shook her head.

"You're not wearing wedding rings, though…" Harleen told Melina and Suskian as she looked at their ring fingers.

"We do not follow human marriage traditions. We follow Saiyan marriage traditions," Melina said as she tilts her head to the side. Harleen raised an eyebrow and Suskian stood up and cleared his throat.

"When a Saiyan finds a forever mate, they umm… Well, they just go for it and breed their mate," Suskian said in an embarrassed tone.

"Unfortunately, I am unable to breed as I am medically unfit to have kids. Suskian took me as his wife, nonetheless, because he loves me dearly and I love him dearly," Melina said with a small blush.

"Aww! That's beautiful!" Anis smiled as she claps her hands together.

"For now, I must ask… When I am unable to protect him for whatever reason, can you all keep him safe in any way?" Melina said with a serious look on her face.

"Heh… We promise," IF smirked as she nods her head.

"Actually, I have an idea…" Andersen said as he glanced at Suskian.

The Next Day; Andersen's Office

Suskian and Melina walked into the office of Andersen and stopped as they were greeted by Andersen… And IF… As well as multiple women of different sizes and shapes.

"Good morning. I hope you both slept well… Because I pulled a few strings to get you something that will help in the long run. Since you're stuck in our world, you will have to do something. So, you will man your own squad as their Commander," Andersen said as he stood back and looked at the group of women as they came up to Suskian and Melina.

"He looks a bit scrawny for his height, even with all that muscle…" one of the Nikke, a black haired woman with slightly tan skin and muscles slightly showing on her body, said as she folded her arms. She looked unimpressed at Suskian and then at Melina, who looked bored.

"Why would you trust me with a bunch of your Nikke?" Suskian asked as he glanced at Andersen.

"I seen how well you worked with Anis, IF, and Rapi. You have great leadership skills as well as a great role as a team player. Plus, you give commands incredibly… You will be able to manage this team perfectly. Unfortunately, a few of them were tasked to be put under memory wipe, but I convinced the higher ups to put them under your command, since you're technically a rookie Commander," Andersen said seriously, "IF will be acting second in command, since she doesn't have a squad to go to. Her comrade, Vert, is your operator." IF walked up to Suskian and salutes him.

"I wouldn't have minded either you or Ryu, Suskian. But, he has his own squad to take care of," IF told Suskian as she nods her head, "I figured you could use a friendly face…"

"Thanks, IF. Glad we are on the same time," Suskian told her and shook her hand.

"Now, these other 5… They are a bit rough around the edges, but… You'll work out the kinks for them, I'm sure. Ladies, introduce yourselves," Andersen said calmly as he stood back. The 5 Nikke stepped up and glanced at Suskian. The muscular Nikke that spoke earlier stepped up and salutes Suskian rather roughly.

"Name: Bloodhound. But, you can refer to me as Roberta," she said, "Weapon of choice: 50 Caliber Sniper Rifle or Railgun. I exist to serve, sir. Try not to chicken out on the battlefield."

"Don't intend to, Roberta. Nice to meet you too," Suskian said as he nods his head.

"Name: Songbird. Chris Yukine is my name, Commander. I will make sure you don't get jumped by Raptures," a pink haired girl said as she salutes Suskian and bows to him, "Weapons of choice: crossbows and mini guns."

"Name: Two Hands. Revy… That's my name. Don't wear it out," another black haired woman said as she smoked a cigarette and nods to Suskian, "I won't hesitate to correct you if you call me any name other than Revy. I use dual handguns."

"Name: Jekyll. Or you can just call me Launch… I hate it when people think I'm weak, so I have a lot to prove. My weapons of choice: Bear Commander with grenade launcher attachments," a blonde haired woman said as she puts her hands on her small waist, "I'm just as good as they are." She points to the others and Roberta rolled her eyes.

"Sure. Keep telling yourself that, hot pants," Revy muttered as she took a small puff. Launch glared at Revy.

"I knew someone like you, Launch. A lot to prove to many people, but you don't need to prove it to me. I know how strong you are, if you're on this team," Suskian said in an assured tone, "I'm glad to have you on the team." Launch glanced at Suskian for a few seconds and nods her head.

"Aight, then. We'll see," Launch told him.

"And, I guess I'm last? Name: Apocalypse. Everyone calls me Teri, but my name is Theresa," the short white haired girl said as she stood beside Chris, "I use a cross… That has multiple weapons embedded inside of it." She calls a large purple cross next to her and Suskian flinched at how it towered over Theresa.

"How do you lug that massive thing around?!" Suskian asked.

"Pocket space," Theresa said simply, "I'm older than I look, kiddo. I've been in war for years. You're gonna need all of us."

"You all are my squad, so I depend on you. Thank you for joining this team," Suskian told them, "Also, just a heads up… I can fight, and I can fight pretty well."

"It's true," IF confirmed as she nods her head.

"We'll need to see some proof, though…" Roberta said as she folded her arms.

"I have the combat data from yesterday from Counters pulled up," Andersen said calmly. Suskian and Melina glanced at him in confusion.

"Oh, right. I sent Ryu, Rapi, and Anis to the surface to take care of something. They also have 2 other Nikke with them. Their unit name is Counters. You'll see them soon enough. For now, we will get you guys in a combat simulation to see each other's strengths and weaknesses. Oh, and we already came up with a name for your squad-"

"No need. I immediately got one handy… Dawnbreaker," Suskian commented as he held up one hand and smiled, "It has meaning… a new team rises like the dawning sun and will break their limits, no matter the situation." The other Nikke stared at him while Revy puffed out some smoke from her cigarette with an amused smile.

"Eh, it's better than Black Lagoon," Revy joked as she shrugged her shoulders.

Training Simulation; Later

Suskian and his Nikke squad, Dawnbreaker, were led to a large holographic room while Melina was standing with Andersen, Harley, and another woman who had her arms crossed under her breasts while having a serious look on her face.

"I don't know… Should we trust this kid? He seems to give some… Odd vibes from me," the woman stated.

"He and I are from the same place, and I haven't lied to you. He is a gentle and kind soul in the body of a warrior. He has no reason to deceive anyone," Melina said as she glanced at the woman.

"I like the kid. He has no filter on how he feels," Harley smirked as she pushed up her glasses, "What do you think, Andy?"

"…Andersen. Anyway, he gives off a vibe of a natural born leader, so I trust that he will succeed in training," Andersen said as he fixed his tie around his neck.

"Well, let's have them prove it. Dawnbreaker, the training will start in one minute! Work out a plan and go from there!" the woman called.

"Yes, Ms. Ingrid!" Chris called to her as she saluted her. The woman named Ingrid nods her head and Chris turned to Suskian, ready for an order.

"The simulation that Deputy Andersen assigned us is seek and destroy. We will need to seek out the enemy marked in purple hues and destroy them. Simple enough," Suskian said as he checked over a hologram that he read over.

"True. But, this is a special simulation that is made for us in mind. Which means you will have to fight with us," Roberta said as she loaded up her Sniper Rifle.

"No problem. I will be on the lookout," Suskian said as he nods his head. The room shifts to become a battlefield and Suskian ordered the team to move in groups of 2 or 3. He will be in the group of 3 while there will be 2 more groups of 2. Suskian, IF, and Roberta was one team, Chris and Revy were another team, and Launch and Theresa were the last team. The teams split up, with their comms linked up and Suskian putting on what looked like a scouter that fitted over both his eyes and the glasses part of the scooter vanishing into thin air ad to not obstruct his view.

"Alright, ladies. Move out," Suskian said seriously and the teams split up. As the simulation went off without a hitch…

Back with the onlookers, they were greeted by a short male with spiky green hair wearing a commander outfit followed by 4 Nikke that were looking rather aloof. There was another short brown haired man that came into view, followed by 3 Nikke who also wore army outfits.

"Ah, Birmingham… And, Commander Bradley. I wasn't aware you all were coming here," Andersen said calmly as he glanced at the 2 males, "And, you have your squads with you? What's the occasion?"

"I was gonna bring in my young nephew in for training today. I didn't know the training simulation area was being used today… Hmm? Is that Songbird and Bloodhound out there? I thought Bloodhound was taking a vacation, Ingrid…" Birmingham told the group as he looked at the field as he saw Roberta snipe a holographic Rapture with lethal precision.

"She has been moved to a new squad… Under a new Commander," Ingrid said calmly as she glanced at the short man, "She is much happier here than the precious squad she was on."

"…Not exactly setting a good example," One of Bradley's Nikke spoke up as she folded her arms.

"You'd be wise to not challenge my authority, Jack," Ingrid said seriously to the Nikke.

"Kyouka, please… Let's not anger the higher ups," Bradley said as he glanced at the Nikke. She looked away and huffed.

"Apologies, Ms. Ingrid. Who's the Commander fighting in the simulation? I thought it was not exactly common for Commanders to fight alongside his Nikke…"

"Besides you, Bradley… This young man is a very capable fighter," Andersen said with a smirk, "He is powerful, too."

"So, I must ask… Who is this outgoing lady? A new ally?" Birmingham asked the others as he looked at Melina.

"I am his wife, Melina Naoko. I am human, yes… But I am no dainty flower. I will hold my own in battle. I just choose to not fight as I am one that detest violence against my husband. But, I bear it because I know he can handle himself," Melina told Birmingham as she turned to him, "I implore you to not try and bring any harm to him, or I will step in."

"I advise you to not threaten a Deputy Commander in Chief, miss. It's not a smart idea," one of Birmingham's Nikke, a blue haired pigtailed woman, said as she stepped in between Melina and Birmingham.

"…Smart or not, I will protect my darling Suskian from any threat, come what may. You be wise to uphold my threat," Melina said seriously as a red aura slowly built up around her.

"Hold your horses, Melina. We're just observing," Harleen told Melina as she touched her shoulder and Melina calmed down, the aura disappearing around her.

"Apologies. I just sensed… As Suskian would put it, bad vibes, coming from that man," Melina said softly to Harleen, "I don't trust him."

"…I'm with ya. But, not much you can say or do in this moment," Harleen said in a soothing tone, "For now, watch your hubby fight. It will ease your mind." Melina nods her head and turned back to the simulation, observing in silence.

"So, where did this guy come from? Did he come from the anomaly from a few days ago?" Birmingham asked.

"Word spreads fast, huh? Yes, this young man is from another world," Harleen said to Birmingham, "She's also from the same place he was from. Their names are Suskian and Melina Naoko."

"…Why does it look like he has a tail?" another one of Bradley's Nikke, a long blue haired girl with a D-pad hair button on the left side of her hair, asked as she looked at Suskian's tail.

"He does. It is a mark of his Saiyan heritage," Melina said as she glanced at them.

"Saiyan? He's from the Dragon Ball universe?" Bradley asked as he looked at Melina and then at Suskian as he powers up to his Super Saiyan form, which made his small afro turn golden while his body was surrounded in a golden yellow aura and his eyes changed from brown to green, "Ah, and there is the Super Saiyan state. Okay, this just got very interesting. How much does he know from the Dragon Ball universe?"

"He is very knowledgeable about many things, including other worlds," Melina stated as she nods her head.

"Does he know of our world?" Andersen asked calmly.

"No. He is personally not informed of this world," Melina told them as she shook her head, "He has spoken to those 2 about the history of this world… Rapi and Anis, right?"

"Yes, he told me when we did tests on him that Rapi and Anis were discussing how this world works…" Andersen said seriously.

"It's gonna be interesting to know about his world more," Birmingham said as he watched the training simulation for Dawnbreaker finish off without any actual issues. The simulation ended and Dawnbreaker came back with a positive attitude in their manner of speaking.

"I'm impressed, Suskian. Excuse me, Commander… Who knew you would be a hell of a fighter? I'm actually glad to be a part of this unit," Roberta said in a warm tone.

"I'm actually pleased with you all. I was worried that you wouldn't work so well together, but it went off without a hitch," Suskian said as he nods his head. Dawnbreaker glanced to see that they had onlookers.

"…That's a surprise. I didn't think Deputy Birmingham and his nephew was visiting," Chris said as she tilts her head to the side.

"And, the Triangle squad as well as Phoenix," Theresa said seriously, glaring at the blue haired girl.

"You have history with them, Apocalypse?" Revy asked as she took a smoke from her cigarette.

"I used to lead the squad for years before Privaty, but I got kicked out due to one mistake I made. Birmingham, that asshole… Ugh, just wonderful. I do not need to see him today," Theresa said as she folded her arms.

"At least you know who ain't here," Launch said as she rolled her eyes.

"Don't… Remind… Me," Revy said slowly, breathing out a long breath as if she were fuming.

"Let's just head back and report our training to Andersen," Suskian said and the girls agreed, "Teri…"

"I'll TRY to hold my tongue. No promises, okay?" Theresa said as she glanced at the Saiyan. He sighed and nods his head. The group made their way back and greeted Ingrid, Harleen, and Andersen as Suskian kissed Melina on the lips lovingly.

"You did good, beloved," Melina said with a smile and Suskian smiled back at her.

"Theresa/Privaty…" Theresa and Privaty said as they glared at each other. The air crackled with tension as these 2 Nikke glared at each other.

"…Teri," Suskian said and Theresa backed off, folding her arms while huffing.

"Act your age, old hag. That's why you got replaced," Privaty swiped and Theresa was about to bring out her cross but Roberta steps in out of nowhere with…

"Says the government lapdog. Do you need a dog treat for how ungodly bratty you are? Keep your mouth shut, and maybe you won't get teamed up on." Privaty sniped Roberta a glare before Birmingham told Privaty to calm down.

"Are you done? Good, now I can get on with the report," Andersen said seriously, "Dawnbreaker, you did exceptionally well in your training exercise. Full marks. Not bad for your first training as Commander, Suskian. You'll fit right in here." He then perked up as he got an alert on his watch. He glanced down at his watch as he held a hand up. He stared at it for a few seconds… And frowned pretty roughly.

"What?" Suskian asked.

"Meet me by my office in an hour. I got something to handle," Andersen said seriously as he Briskly walked away. Everyone glanced at each other before Ingrid looked down at her clipboard at a tablet ad she got an alert.

"You're fucking joking… Ugh…" Ingrid said lowly as she looked up at Harleen, "Get to Nikke maintenance. We have a situation."

"Do I wanna know?" Suskian asked nervously.

"…Come with me," Ingrid said calmly and the group glanced at each other before following behind Ingrid. This is… Not good. Hope things aren't horrible enough to warrant…
