Chapter 4: Vicious Chatterbox Round 1

The Next Morning
"…So, is anyone gonna tell us what happened last night…? Like, everything is a blur," Launch said as she checked her gun for maintenance. There was silence and an awkward tension in the air as everyone was looking at each other.
"Well…" Ryu said as he rubbed the back of his head.
"We were under attack last night by a new faction," Suskian said seriously. The ones who were affected looked shocked as Suskian and Melina came out of their tent and were cleaning their weapons.
"Under attack?! Why didn't you come get us?!" Revy asked.
"We couldn't. The Lust Mist was pretty hard to get rid of, even after the Lust Wyrm was killed," Rapi said seriously as she fixed her vest on her body, "Anis was… The most difficult to get back to normal, for some reason." Anis blushed as she rubbed the back of her head.
"For a second there, I thought we would have to do something dangerous," Theresa said as she shook her head.
"For the rest of you, seems you guys are more freaky than I figured," Roberta chuckled, "Especially Neon and Chris." Both girls blushed heavily and looked away from each other.
"Yeah. I almost thought you 2 were secret lovers or something," IF said as she sweat drops at them.
"It's not like that! I… Just have a really high libido and I hide it with working hard to circumvent it," Chris said as she blushed harder and shook her head.
"I didn't know I had that in me…" Neon said softly as her glasses fogged up from the steam emitting from her face in embarrassment.
"Well, at least you didn't get pegged last night…" Revy said as she glared at Launch.
"What? I don't remember last night after the mist hit," Launch said as she shrugged her shoulders.
"My ass STILL burns from that!" Revy said as she poked Launch on the chest.
"Okay, I'm sorry… For what it's worth, that means I mean I used old Dragon on you," Launch said and smirked at the last part.
"Can we move on from this, please?" Ryu said in a deadpan tone.
"Commander, I'm sorry for last night… I was… Well…" Anis said as she blushed and looked away in embarrassment.
"Anis, it's okay. Really… You weren't in control," Ryu told her as he turned to her, "I remember you telling me that most Nikke aren't usually seen as sexual beings."
"If we are being frank, Ryu… I can see it. If Yuni and Mihara are any form of that…" Suskian said with a smirk. Yuni stuck her tongue playfully at Suskian and giggled.
"You flatter us, Suskian. But, it's all in good fun," Mihara smiled, "At any rate, we should get going. We have today to find Chatterbox before Syuen gets angry."
"I'm this close to punting that lost child," Suskian said and Revy snorts at that.
"Nice One Punch Man reference," IF told Suskian as she nods her head.
"So, you have any clue what it looks like, Mihara?" Suskian asked her.
"…Would you be mad if I told you no?" Mihara said with a sad smile. Everyone stopped and stared at her.
"So, let me get this straight: Syuen sent us out here to find this Chatterbox, right… Not knowing what we are looking for or what it looks like, and she gives us 2 days? Seriously, fuck this lost child," Revy said as she took a smoke from her cigarette. Everyone sighed and Theresa looked ahead, spotting something large and fast moving away from them. She immediately goes for her cross and stopped as she realized it was too far away for her.
"Suskian, something moved in the distance! It looked pitch black and it was moving way too fast for a Rapture!" Theresa said seriously.
"Roberta. Scope it," Suskian said and Roberta bring out her Sniper Rifle and looked through the scope lens. Indeed, she spotted the black figure fleeing and confirmed as such.
"Yeah, something is running away," Roberta said seriously as she glanced back at the others, "It's huge as fuck and it looked like it had a big ass tail."
"It's gotta be Chatterbox," Ryu said as he shook his head.
"It could… Or, could be something the new faction made," Melina said as she folded her arms. That made everyone go on edge, not ruling out any other possibilities.
"How far is it?" Suskian asked Roberta. She zoomed in and hummed as the figure seemed to vanish into thin air in the distance.
"Several miles north of us. But, strange… It looked like it vanished into thin air. Must be an illusionary wall or some sort," Roberta said as she hooks her Sniper back on her back, "Worth checking out, at least."
"Lead the way," Mihara said to her.

The group walked for another half an hour, keeping their eyes peeled and senses on track. Then, they arrived to where the weird black figure was and there indeed were weird looking large footprints in the sand.
"Mihara, look! Footprints!" Yuni said as she knelt beside the footprint. It was as large as Yuni at her height and it was wider than any of them combined.
"No wonder you 2 can see it that far away. This thing is big," Melina commented as she knelt beside Yuni. Mihara brought out a phone and searched through her photo gallery for something and stopped as she brought her phone up to the footprints. It was a photo of a footprint… The EXACT same size and length.
"You had a pic of that handy?" Chris asked in confusion.
"Syuen sent this before we got on the surface. Said this was its footprint. She tells me to not bring it out until I have confirmation," Mihara said as she glanced at the others.
"Actually makes sense. Don't wanna chase any red herrings," IF said as she moved her hair behind her head, "And, we definitely got confirmation. That's the same footprint… Which means you 2 possibly saw Chatterbox."
"Which means we are close," Mihara said as she lowered her phone and hummed to herself, "But, where did he go? How far do these tracks go?" Suskian glanced at Melina and she brought her hands in front of her in a prayer pose and began glowing white. Everyone looked at her as she began to lowly chant some words. Then, the footprints began glowing white and Suskian walked up to the first footprint and knelt on the ground to touch the inside of it. He closed his eyes and began sensing for any nearby enemies matching what made the footprints.
"Yuni. Come here a second," Suskian said and Yuni went over to his left side, "Hold my hand." She blushed and held his hand. She then was surrounded in a blue light and she gasped before snapping her head to her left, which was the way where the footprints led. She stopped and shuddered a little.
"Yuni? Are you…" Mihara asked. Yuni then shook her head and glanced at Suskian.
"He's not that far… Or, I think that's Chatterbox… I see a large black Rapture in the distance… About 5 miles that way," Yuni told the group and then to Suskian, point ing the direction of the footprints.
"What did you guys…?" Rapi asked them.
"It's called Maiden Sense. I developed it using my power as a Finger Maiden to sense any anomalies in the area… It's like Erdtree Sense, but more focused," Melina said as she straightened up and the white energy vanished around her, "Only I can do this as only Finger Maidens can do this. We should move as we don't know how long he would stay hidden."
"Can I get a reward?" Yuni asked as she looked at Suskian.
"Huh?" Suskian asked as he and Yuni stood up. She giggled as she looked at him with a smile.
"Oh, Yuni usually asks for rewards when she helps someone out, usually me. Seems she has developed a bond with you, Suskian," Mihara smiled as she folded her arms under her chest.
"…What kind of reward?" Suskian asked in curiosity. Yuni giggled and began pinching Suskian on the cheek pretty hard, "Ow. Why…?"
"It's her reward. She likes inflicting pain, but it's the only way she can feel anything," Mihara told Suskian as Yuni giggled and went to bite him on the neck playfully, "Oh, my… Seems like she likes biting you for some reason."
"You think? Thank God I'm Half-Saiyan, otherwise she would have bitten off half my neck… Although, it does feel kinda oddly nice. Like a love bite," Suskian said as he shrugged his shoulders. Yuni lets him go and there is a bite mark on his neck now, almost looking like a hickey.
"Will that bother you, Suskian…?" Ryu asked as he was about to come help clean it off.
"No. It's okay… I can heal it later. Besides, we have to get go-" Suskian said and his lax expression went serious as he quickly pushed Yuni back and blocked an incoming tail swipe that sent him flying to the ground.
"Suskian?!" Yuni and Mihara called as Melina rushed over to his side. Suskian rolled to a stop and shook his arms off from the stinging pain that shot up his arms. Just then, a large black figure appeared out of thin air and glared down at them.
"I spy with my big eyes… Many insects to play and toy with. I will kill and murder you all!" The being called as he emits a reddish aura around his body.
"Mihara, look! Its feet!" Yuni called as she points to the feet. It was the same shape as the photo and footprints.
"Looks like our target found us," Mihara said seriously, "Yuni, immobilize it! Go for his eyes!"
"Roger!" Yuni called as she glared at the being and the eyes of the being went dark.
"Nngh! What the hell?! I can't see!" Chatterbox yelled in pain as he shrank back, "Damn brat!"
"I got him, Mihara!" Yuni cheered as she pumped her fists.
"Don't lose focus, sweet Yuni. Commander Suskian, Commander Ryu… Give the orders," Mihara said as she loaded her weapon.
"Got it. Dawnbreaker, Phoenix Wing formation!" Suskian ordered as he touched his necklace, "Tarnished: Legendary Armaments: Grafted Blade Greatsword!" A large Crimson red broadsword appeared in his left hand and the look of a hundred blades looked to be grafted onto the large blade itself.
"Rapi, Anis, Neon, Tsubasa! Go in guns blazing!" Ryu told the Counters squad.
Cue Topless By Breaking Benjamin
"Yes, Commander!" Dawnbreaker and Counters called at the same time, racing in to combat Chatterbox as Roberta hung back to find a good vantage point for her Sniper Rifle.
"Mihara, protect Yuni as best you can. I have a feeling he will gun for her," Suskian told her and Mihara nods her head. The sound of gunfire was heard as Counters and Dawnbreaker began their all out assault on Chatterbox, who was trying his hardest to attack them while blinded. When he swung at one, he was hit by a volley of bullets and forced to defend.
"Blade Work #10: Signal Rain!" Suskian yelled as he held his grafted broadsword in front of him and the hundreds of blades shot out like bullets at Chatterbox, expertly avoiding the Nikke and nailing the target.
"AGH! BLADES?! HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?!" Chatterbox roared in pain as he shrank back in pain. The blades grafted themselves back on the broadsword and Suskian raced ahead with Tsubasa coming behind him while unsheathing her katana.
"Kazanari Ittoryu: Rengoku Shin Aku!" Tsubasa yelled as she was surrounded in a blood red aura and the Visage if an Oni mask appeared above her head.
"Yakkodori!" Suskian yelled as he swung his sword in front of him and a large white slash wave slams into Chatterbox, knocking him back as Tsubasa leaps into the air. She slashed straight through Chatterbox and cleaves his left arm off, making him screech in pain as black liquid shot out of the stump.
"Now, he's crippled," Mihara said as she held out her left hand and the blue light went from her to Chatterbox and he was frozen in place and Mihara panted a little, the pain was hitting her a bit and it was exciting her.
"Switch complete. Continue the assault! Don't let up!"
"You sure? You switched senses with him…" Melina said to Mihara.
"I can take it, trust me…" Mihara said with a smile, "Good luck!" Melina nods her head and pulls out her Black Knife, rushing in to help the others.
"Kazanari Ittoryu: Moonlight Slash!" Tsubasa called as she lands on the ground and sheathed her sword again to unsheathe it and unleash a large white crescent moon shaped slash at Chatterbox. At the same time… Anis and Theresa unleashed several bomb and grenade rounds at Chatterbox. The large Rapture was hit on both sides and it roared as it was hit with a large scale explosion and Mihara gasped in shock and pleasure, going down on one knee.
"Sorry!" Theresa called to her.
"Its okay!" Mihara called as she stood up. Suskian kicks the Rapture into the air and it was hailed on by hundreds of bullets from the others. Chatterbox crashed to the ground and roared, his red aura explodes outwards and caused everyone to be blown back a bit. Suskian skids to a stop as he stabs the ground with the broadsword and caught IF as she was sent flying to him. Just then, Chatterbox suddenly stabs his hand into his stump where his arm used to be and Mihara screamed in shock and pain, which silenced everyone. She held her left arm and grit her teeth to hold another scream in.
"Ahh, I see. Switching senses, huh? Stupid fly… You just handicapped yourself," Chatterbox called and dug into his stump, making Mihara unleash another painful scream as she could feel him digging around in his body.
"STOP! AHN! MAKE HIM STOP!" Mihara screamed in pain. Chatterbox was hit in the chest by a Sniper bullet and he stopped digging around in his stump to growl. Mihara fell over and coughed several times, feeling like she was gonna throw up. She switched senses back and fell over, twitching in pain.
"Mihara!" Yuni called as she hugs Mihara.
"Melina, help Mihara! Yuni, don't lose focus!" Suskian ordered. Melina rushed back to check on Mihara as Yuni looked up at Suskian and had a serious look on her face.
"He will PAY!" Yuni yelled as she brought out her rocket launcher.
"No, Yuni! Focus!" Suskian called as he stood up and rushed over to stop her from charging over. Just as they met, they were knocked to the ground by Chatterbox's large tail. Yuni coughed as Suskian groaned and shook his head.
"I'm getting tired of getting tossed like a fucking ragdoll," Suskian grumbled as he sat up. Then, Chatterbox's eyes became red again and he laughed viciously.
"…Ugh…" Yuni groaned as she held her bruised chest and coughed several times, "My ribs…" Suskian looked down and saw that she looked damaged at her chest area as well as a crack under her left eye socket. With the others, they got ready for another bout when Chatter box began laughing viciously again and cracked his neck.
"Wanna see a neat trick, pesky insects?" He taunted and he pointed to his stump and it began growing back a whole large muscular arm!
"He can regenerate lost limbs?!" Tsubasa thought as she watched in disgust as Chatterbox's left arm regrew back lost tissue and veins.
"…This just got more difficult," Launch said in shock. Suskian laid Yuni down on the ground and told her to stay put. He looked back and took a deep breath, his eyes turning green. He then lets out a roar as he turned Super Saiyan, his hair spiking upwards as well as changing to golden yellow and his tail turning golden as well. Chatterbox glared at Suskian as Suskian charged at Chatterbox, sword reared back like a baseball bat. Chatterbox emits the blood red aura and charged at Suskian, clashing with him and creating a huge Shockwave that kicked up dust and debris.
"Not bad, insect… Seems those beings from before were not lying when they said I would get a good challenge from you," Chatterbox said with a slasher smirk.
"Who are they?! What do they want with me and mine?!" Suskian yelled as he forced Chatterbox back. Chatterbox began firing off several red beams at Suskian, who dodged the incoming beams and continued his assault. It looked like it was dead even for a bit as Suskian and Chatterbox were trading blows as the rest of the group was stunned by how strong Suskian really was. Dawnbreaker and Mulina, however… Watched on in intrigue. For Dawnbreaker, they have already seen Suskian turn Super Saiyan during their training and Mulina is used to seeing Suskian transform.
"Commander! We can help!" Theresa called as she held her large cross in front of her. Suddenly, she was hit by a laser beam in the back of her shoulder and her arm was blown off. Blood spurts from her arm as she screamed in pain and horror.
"Sniper!" Revy yelled as she pulls Theresa to the ground as another laser beam raced above her head. The others ducked behind cover as more laser beams raced past them.
"More Raptures are near! We need to retreat, immediately!" Rapi called to the others. Chatterbox laughed as he forced Suskian back and fired off his beams at the others. Melina quickly sprung into action and brought up the golden tree to block the incoming beams from Chatterbox and the Raptures. Roberta hid behind cover and held her side as she had a hole in it, bleeding profusely.
"I got hit, too… Fuck! I was taken by surprise," Roberta grunted as she glanced at the others.
"The heat is too hot, Rapi! Even if we run, we could cause more casualties! Only way is to cut the fire by half!" Launch called to Rapi as she fired off several volleys of bullets at the Raptures, taking a few out. Chris and Neon both helped out with cutting down more Raptures using their guns as well as Anis aiming some well placed grenade launcher rounds, blowing up a few more. Melina healed Theresa and Roberta as Theresa passed out from blood loss. Her stump was a red scarry mess and her long silver hair was undone.
"Theresa needs a medic, fast. Same for Yuni and Mihara," Melina said as she looked at the others.
"This seems a bit hopeless, I'm not gonna lie," Revy growled as she shook her head, "That Chatterbox lured us into a trap."
"No question on that. He purposely led us to an open area to have the other Raptures line up and ambush us when we were distracted and he flips the script with Yuni and Mihara the instant that he figured out their powers. Which is baffling since…" Tsubasa said and looked at Chatterbox as he was getting beaten by Suskian, who was showing no signs of slowing down his assault, "You think that new faction have info on us?"
"…I can't exactly confirm that. Dakimu said she was following Demigra, so that faction has to have been here longer than Dakimu," Melina said seriously as she shook her head, "This just got worse the more we think about this…"
"Syuen may have sent us to our deaths…" Anis said as she shook her head.
"Don't say that. We'll get out of this," Ryu said as he glanced at Anis, "We just need to…" Suddenly, an explosion erupts near him and he was sent flying to the ground and broke his left leg. If anything, the explosion was a well placed laser beam that explodes on contact with the ground. He yelled in pain as he held his leg.
"Commander!" Rapi and Anis yelled in shock. Theresa gasped and sat up, coming back to consciousness and reached for her cross. She then, using her good arm… Threw her cross into the air and the cross glows bright green, summoning a large green dome around the large group and deflecting the laser beams incoming. Theresa moaned in pain as she panted and looked ready to pass out again, but she held strong and looked at the others.
"Don't… Fire. The bullets will ricochet off the barrier and hit someone on the inside," Theresa panted to them, "My Deliverance Barrier will keep us safe from harm…" Chris went over to hold Theresa as the young woman leaned back, exhausted.
"Now what…? We're sitting ducks," Revy told Theresa as she glanced at her.
"…Rely on Suskian. Hope he can wrap this battle up," Theresa panted and stared ahead at the battle between Chatterbox and Suskian. Melina worked on stabilizing Ryu as the others watched in anticipation. Suskian skids to a stop and glanced back to see the others injured and safe from harm. He then glanced at Theresa and she shook her head while giving him a pained look. He sighed and glanced forward, standing up and tossing the Grafted Blade Greatsword into the air.
"Tarnished: Weapon Change! Blunt Weapon: Sacred Great Stars!" he called and the greatsword changed int a large Morningstar with multiple large spiked balls stacked on top of each other sitting on top of a large handle with a charm of the 3 golden circles that matched his seal on his hand. He held the large Morningstar in his right hand and charged ahead again, slamming the Weapon on the top of Chatterbox's head and a golden light surrounded the others. Theresa's stump stopped throbbing and Roberta's bullet wound stopped bleeding as the light passed over them.
"What…? What happened?" Roberta asked as she touched her wound.
"Prayerful Strike. It Heals all allies when the user connects their weapon with the target. It's not a full heal, but it does enough to stop all lethal damage," Melina said as she stayed by Ryu to patch up his broken leg, "Unfortunately, it does not regrow lost limbs."
"So, Suskian is making sure we don't die from our wounds…" Theresa said as she held her stump, "All while fighting Chatterbox. But, he's all alone…"
"Not for long," a voice called in the distance and a HUMONGOUS white laser beam raced towards Suskian and Chatterbox.
"Suskian, duck!" Rapi and Anis called at the same time. Suskian lands on the ground and ducks as the beam harmlessly passed over him and pierced a hole STRAIGHT through Chatterbox's torso, splattering black liquid and what looked like entrails all behind him. Chatterbox screeched in pain as it tried to reach for Suskian and just fell back on its backside, holding its now hole filled chest and stomach area.
"WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED?! DID YOU DO THIS?!" Chatterbox roared and spat out the black liquid from its mouth on the ground. A lone figure donning white and grey walked up to Suskian's left side and knelt beside him.
"Are you hurt?" the figure asked him softly and he looked up at it and blinked in shock. It was a woman a few years older than him, donning what looked like a white cloak over her body and had what looked like a black futuristic visor on top of her head. She also held what looked like a white anti ship rifle under her right arm and what looked like a generator beside her on the left side.
"I'm okay. Thanks for the assist…" Suskian told her as he lightly blushed as he saw how beautiful she was. She smirked as she looked up to Chatterbox as it slowly got up and was regenerating the hole in his chest and stomach slowly.
"What?! My regeneration is slowing down already?!" he raged as he glared at the woman as she stood in front of Suskian and aimed her rifle at Chatterbox.
"Begone, you Blasphemous creature!" she yelled in anger as the visor fitted over her eyes and she unleashed the same large beam from her rifle, blowing off Chatterbox's right arm. He roared in pain as he fell back again.
"Get your people out of here, quickly. I'll handle this, okay?" she told Suskian as she looked back at him.
"…Can you handle this by yourself, miss?" Suskian asked as he stood up and the woman smirked at him, making Suskian blush again, this time more pronounced.
"Don't worry, bud. This is nothing for me… I'll handle this. You're quite powerful for a human… You did well," she said in an impressed tone, "You're a Commander, too? Brings back memories…" She went silent for a few seconds before shaking her head.
"Snow White. If we meet again, call me Snow White," she said as she turned back ahead and took aim again.
"Suskian. It's my name," He said as he slung the Sacred Great Stars over his shoulder and raced over to the others, "Good luck!" Snow White smirked and nods her head.
"Suskian… Powerful name. I feel like we will meet again soon…" Snow White thought and began firing at Chatterbox, who was fleeing.
"I will hunt you down, you disgusting blight of nature!" Snow White called and ran after him. As Suskian made it to the others, the Raptures were already wiped out by outside help from Snow White earlier. Theresa drops the barrier and the cross lands next to her on the ground. Suskian immediately takes stock of the situation and frowned.
"…It's okay. We were in over our heads today… Luckily, it didn't end in tragedy," Theresa said as she touched Suskian on the arm and shook her head, "We need to report to Vert and Shifty about this. We don't have a choice…"
"I was gonna do that anyway. Syuen can suck a fat dick," Suskian said seriously as he went over to tend to Yuni and Mihara, "There was NO WAY you 2 could have handled Chatterbox by yourselves. Syuen was sending you to your deaths."
"…We are aware. She isn't very fond of us, after all," Mihara groaned as she sat up and coughed. Rapi hands her a water bottle and Mihara takes it and greedily drinks half of it and hands it back.
"Thank you. Sorry… I feel responsible for all this, still…"
"Don't. You are just following orders. If anything, you did your jobs well. You were just… Unprepared for the scale of this," Rapi said in a comforting tone, which surprised everyone. She wasn't the biggest fan of Wardress from jump, so seeing comfort…
"Thank you, Rapi," she said with a sad smile, "Just report to your operators as quick as you can. We need medical assistance." Rapi nods and so did Theresa and the both of them went to try and contact Vert and Shifty. This whole day was a giant mess… Hope they won't get into too much trouble… Oh, but the troubles are just beginning…
