Author's note: As usual a few things before I start, nothing serious.
* I want to thank everyone who read so far, putting up with my horrible grammar, I would like to say that I will fix it soon, but to be honest I would have to go over everything I learned years ago about the language and its grammatical rules to be able to do it on my own and I don't have the time for that.
** I want to thank those who sent me advice by private and those who left me advice through the reviews, I will try to follow them as best I can and I hope to improve in the future, at least enough so that your eyes don't bleed just reading what I write.
*** I've tried to get a Beta or some editor who has better control of the language than me, to help me to correct the problems already mentioned, unfortunately all the ones I've contacted didn't answer or simply didn't have time for my project, I'll keep looking but for now the only person who reads my story before uploading it is my dear Muse, (sorry dear if you read this but your command of the language is equal or worse than mine) but if you have the kindness to keep reading even so I'd be very grateful.
Last: I had said that part of the story was already written, honestly I have a huge word document that was this story that I had written some time ago on my mobile, so what I'm doing now is editing things, adding some more, before uploading the file to FFN, so what I want to say is that if anyone has a suggestion of something they'd like to see in the story and it's in my power to do it, I'll gladly try, this story is a culmination of a frustration I had when I discovered the world of HP, and if I can make someone else's frustrated scene come true through my writing, that would be fantastic.
There are a couple of people who sent me PM's with such requests and that's why I thought of highlighting it here, one specifically asked me to place a couple that although I never considered it was interesting to me and I might do it as a personal challenge, after all this story was born from a challenge.
without more to say I think that's all for now, thank you very much and I hope you enjoy this chapter.
classes again
After what seemed to be his first real night's rest in a long time Harry felt refreshed, he woke up with the first rays of the sun, he got up without making much noise as he didn't want to wake up his dorm mates, or more specifically one redhead in particular, after showering and changing Harry went down to the common room to wait for Hermione.
He didn't have to wait long as only seconds after he sat down in the armchair in front of the fireplace Hermione appeared down the stairs.
"Harry, are you up early?" said Hermione surprised by this fact as she approached him.
"Well it was me who came up with the idea, I guess I could at least get up early," said Harry happy to surprise Hermione.
"Although I didn't expect you to come down before me
"Well, maybe I couldn't resist the urge to see you," smiled Harry as he looked at her.
At that statement Hermione smiled happily with a slight blush, she had slept on it and her thoughts had come to a conclusion, but she didn't want to rush it yet, so she wanted her mother to read her letter and reply as soon as possible.
Then she remembered the letter. "Harry, could we stop by the owlery? I'd like to send a letter to my parents," asked Hermione.
"Sure, but why bother? you can use Hedwig, honestly she gets annoyed because I don't have many letters to send so she would be more than happy to help you."
Before Hermione could say anything, Hedwig flew in and landed on Harry's shoulder as if she knew he had called her.
Surprised but happy Hermione agreed.
"Thanks Harry that would be great, and thanks to you Hedwig," Hermione said as she looked at the owl who just lifted her head as if she was showing off.
"I'll be right back then," with that Hermione ran up the stairs and it didn't take her long to come down, she handed her letter to Hedwig and asked her to take it to her mother "And make sure you wait for an answer please, can you do that for me Hedwig?"
The owl simply hooted as if to say that it was an insult to think that she couldn't do something as easy as that, and flew away.
"Shall we go then?"
With that they both went down to the great hall for breakfast, when they got there they noticed that there were a few people who had also got up early, but none that they knew, so they just sat down to breakfast.
"So, how was your summer, I'd like to hear about it now that there are no interruptions nearby," Harry began.
Hermione smiled at his interest. "Quite funny, we went to visit my grandparents in France, we usually take turns visiting each other, last time they came to my parents house, and that was in first year, so this time it was our turn to go, we visited some French beaches, in even went to a magical district, it was very different to Diagon Alley and there are still so many things I didn't see, I want to go back when I can, we came back a week before school started, since then I was studying the text books before we arrived back at Hogwarts...- Suddenly Hermione realised that Harry was looking at her with a warm smile on his face uninterrupted and too relaxed, Hermione realised that again she had been talking non-stop but Harry didn't interrupt her.
"It fascinates me when you talk like that," said Harry calmly after drinking some juice.
Hermione was glad of that, she thought her friends got annoyed with her when she went into explanation mode, it was nice to know that at least one of them didn't bother her.
"and now I know why you have such a nice tan."
Hermione once again felt gleeful at the comment, and tried to cover it up by making conversation.
"Though I'm more intrigued by your summer, you were alone for a long time, and it seems you've learned several things you haven't told me about Mr. Potter" Hermione looked at him expectantly and raised an eyebrow.
"What can I say Hermione, mysterious men are more attractive," he gave her a crooked smile and Hermione felt there was some truth in that statement.
"But I met someone" Hermione's heart stopped for a moment waiting for Harry to continue.
"An old man who became what you might call my mentor" Harry added as he looked nowhere in particular, Hermione gasped again at this statement.
"It taught me a lot, and helped me to see the truth about a lot of things."
"He sounds like a very wise man," said Hermione.
"He was wise, and although he was not the best role model, he certainly helped me a lot."
"Then I should thank you for helping my friend sort out his affairs, shouldn't I?" asked Hermione amused, looking forward to meeting this mysterious mentor.
Harry just shook his head in denial.
"I won't be seeing him again, let's just say he was a once in a lifetime mentor, he taught me and said the rest was up to me, he was just someone who came through the room for a while" Harry said speaking partly truthfully in his statement, he hadn't been given permission to tell anyone about what happened, but he was sure that one day Hermione would figure it out, in the Tett rules it didn't say anything about her not being able to figure it out on her own, and if she didn't make it there wouldn't be that much of a problem either.
Despite what Harry said he didn't look sad, it's like it was better that way, Hermione was dying to ask what his name was, but she felt that if Harry hadn't told her there was surely a reason, if this mysterious mentor appeared and disappeared, just like that he might not even have told Harry his name.
"That being the case, I'm glad it will help you," Hermione commented as she gave his arm a squeeze and smiled at him.
Harry smiled at this.
"Maybe now I know a thing or two that you don't, I might surprise you, who knows maybe even teach you something," Harry said bumping her shoulder against her.
Hermione really liked the idea of Harry knowing more things, although a competitive part of her wanted to compare knowledge another part of her was more than happy for a more studious Harry and didn't mind being the one to receive knowledge from Harry for once.
"You always surprise me Harry but, it wouldn't hurt to see your studious side a bit, I'll settle for it if you can do your essays on your own."
"And miss my chance to be scolded by you? No way, you won't get rid of me that easy Professor Granger," Harry said with his face a little closer to her, after looking at each other for a moment they both started to laugh.
"Well I guess this Professor Granger will have to think about what detentions she can give you Mr. Potter." Hermione commented smiling at Harry and winking at him before looking back down at her breakfast, this time it was Harry who looked puzzled for a moment before smiling with a slight blush.
"Touche," said Harry
They went back to concentrating on their breakfast just enjoying each other's presence until it was almost time for the timetables to be handed out, before that the rest of the students had arrived with them including Ron who confronted Harry.
"Why the hell didn't you wait for me?" apparently, he was angry at being left out. "You were asleep Ron."
"You could have woken me up!" spat Ron.
"After the mess you all made last night with those sweets, I thought you all wanted to get some more sleep," dismissed Harry dismissively as if commenting on the weather. "Sit down and eat breakfast, they're about to give us the timetables and then you won't have time."
He was still upset, but he was still hungry and paid attention to the food for now.
After a while, Professor Mcgonagall asked them to come forward to give them their timetables and when it was Harry's turn he smiled and waited, he didn't have to wait long, when Ron got just as angry as he expected.
"What the hell? Harry why don't you have Divination on your schedule?" this was what Harry was expecting, but then again one never knows how Mount Weasley will react so he indicated to Hermione that he would take care of this while she nodded and moved a little more to the side to give them room to TALK? To her two friends.
"It's not on my schedule why I'm not going to take divination," he said as if it was the most logical thing in the world, which it was.
"But we were supposed to take it together, why didn't you tell me?" asked Ron angrily as he raised his voice.
"I made that decision on my own and they made the change last night," said Harry.
"You still have to take two electives if you don't take divination, which one do you take then?"
And there it is, this is where he might find the real conflict with Ronald Weasley, but that didn't matter to Harry, after their fight at the hunt, after seeing Ronald Weasley's face and hearing his supposed best friend say things he could never take back, plus the fact that he was suspicious of the information from beyond the grave, Harry Potter no longer wanted to be near the individual known as Ron.
"Arithmancy and Ancient Runes" he said it as if it was nothing to make a big deal about and this calm demeanour only made Ron angrier, when suddenly something clicked in his mind, there was another person he knew who would be taking those subjects and it all made sense to Ron, he stopped looking at Harry to look at Hermione angrily.
"You convinced him to go to those brainiac classes!" shouted Ron.
Hermione was surprised at first that Ron was accusing her, but that didn't faze her, it seemed that their light-hearted exchange wasn't so light as most of those who hadn't yet gone to get their materials for class were watching the fight between the famous golden trio in fascination.
"Excuse me? Harry's old enough to make decisions on his own, I had nothing to do with it," Hermione replied in annoyance.
"No of course not, funnily enough Harry chose not just one but both of the classes you'll be taking."
Hermione didn't know how to respond to that, as the reason why he changed classes felt very personal and she felt it was something Harry should decide who and when to share, luckily, she didn't have to say anything when a hand came to her shoulder, she looked at Harry who was smiling reassuringly at her and she calmed down.
"Listen Ron this is my decision and that's it, it has nothing to do with anyone it's something I chose, now if you would stop being so immature you would see we still have the Magical Creatures class together."
Harry spoke quietly, but firmly as if it was the last thing they would say on the subject and that only annoyed Ron more.
"How am I supposed to feel when my friends conspire behind my back to leave me out, but of course, that's me isn't it? Immature Ronald, well fine do what you want, but then don't come running to me when you get tired of listening to her talk about studying all day" with that last comment rum stormed off and the onlookers they had quickly began to disperse.
Hermione was annoyed by his last comment, but she was also afraid that it had some truth to it, she knew Harry was different even more attentive than before but she didn't know how long he would tire of it.
"I'll never get tired of spending time with you," Harry whispered to her as if he had heard her thoughts.
"Come on we have to get to class" he took her hand and began to lead her back to the dormitories and this made Hermione calm down, so she followed him without removing her hand from his grip.
They arrived at Gryffindor tower and both went to get their things and went to their first Arithmancy class, they sat together, but Harry took them to sit not all the way to the front as Hermione would like but more in the middle rows.
The class began and Hermione for her part was still a little nervous about Harry being bored in class, but she was surprised to see that not only was he paying attention, but he was even taking notes, not the scribbles he always took, but he was taking real notes, organised and above all legible, although it still looked like his handwriting could improve it was certainly much better than before when it looked like runes instead of letters.
Hermione happily turned her attention back to Professor Vector.
When they left the classroom, Hermione asked Harry for a moment to go to the bathroom, Harry who already had an idea of what she was actually going to do told her that he would wait for her around the corner in the corridor, so he wouldn't have to wonder why Hermione was going back into the bathroom before she had come out.
When Hermione came out after a few minutes they went on together to transformations, which this year was their turn with the Hufflepuffs.
They bumped into Ron, but he was still angry with them and simply ignored them, and sat with Seamus, Harry and Hermione sat equally close to the centre.
They were learning the Geminio Spell, they were to duplicate a feather into an identical feather, this was a spell Harry knew well even without Grindelwald's memories so he didn't think much of it when he ended up doing it on the first try, what he didn't realise and what his partner did, was that Harry had done it without reciting the spell.
Hermione had been surprised by Harry Potter lately, although it was true that the green- eyed boy always managed to surprise her, but this time it was different, it seemed that Harry didn't notice, but he did a non-verbal charm, her curiosity won out over her surprise and she leaned a little closer to him whispering to him.
"How did you do it?" Hermione asked.
"Use the spell just like the teacher said," replied Harry confused as to what she meant as Hermione had also finished copying her quill.
"No Harry you didn't, you didn't say the spell, you did it without speaking."
Then Harry realised his mistake, in the tent he and Hermione had been practising silent spells as they continued the hunt, the geminio spell was one of the first he managed to do, and he did it without thinking, he was about to object saying that surely she didn't hear when he said it under his breath when he thought, why?
If he wanted to be a powerful wizard in the future he had to start showing he had the potential to be one or people would just think his change was too sudden, if Grindelwald was right his third year is where he showed the potential he had, showing he was talented in certain areas, or smarter in others, was the same thing, so showing he had the magical potential to surpass adult wizards is not something he was going to flinch from.
"I just thought that's how I wanted it to happen, in my head it's as if the spell has played out flawlessly, so I don't need to say it out loud, magic first and foremost has always been about intention Hermione." Explained Harry.
Hermione is stunned, she expected a vague answer or that he hadn't noticed, she didn't expect him to have deliberately tried, but what he said helped, she bit her lip as she began to process what he said, it made sense, Hermione's mind was capable of processing too many things at the same time, processing his intentions or reproducing the spell alone in her mind shouldn't be any problem for her, and it did.
This time it was Harry's turn to be left open mouthed, he always knew Hermione was powerful and he always thought she was better at magic than him, but to see that she had achieved the same result as him with just the few words he said to her pleasantly surprised him, he wondered if being soul mates meant that she also had the magical potential that he possessed, He didn't know but he did know that Hermione at least had too much potential on her own, the simple fact that she was always years ahead in terms of her magical knowledge was a good sign of that, but it also showed how much Hermione was limited by only basing her knowledge on the Hogwarts syllabus, Harry was more determined than ever to share the knowledge he had in his head as soon as he could and it was safe.
If he was right in what he thought of these last few classes then he would certainly ask Hermione to join his training sooner rather than later.
For her part, Professor Mcgonagall was pleasantly surprised by what she would not admit out loud were her favourite students, not only did Mr. Potter seem to be taking his ambitions seriously, but he had the talent to back them up, it was about time he started to show that talent, for her part it seemed that Miss Granger had found someone who would not only push her but who could encourage her to do better than she was already doing.
"10 points each for being the first to duplicate their pen correctly." said McGonagall
Hermione and Harry looked at each other happily at their success, at the back of the class a certain red-headed boy looked at them angrily before returning to his talk with Seamus without even trying his spell again.
After transformations it was time for lunch, where they sat near Neville who told them that Professor Trelawny had said that Harry would die this year, Hermione felt conflicted about this because she already knew it, she had been in the class and she would have liked to be the one to tell Harry things like that, as silly as it was, but she couldn't do it without revealing the secret, and although she had decided to do it she still didn't know when would be the perfect moment.
Harry thought nothing of it, simply thanked Neville for the information, finished their lunch and went to magical creatures class with Hagrid.
This was one of the moments Harry wanted to change and he was willing to do so, but before it happened they reached the designated classroom area where Harry heard the hateful voice again.
"So, you've finally come to your senses and had enough of your pet weasel, have you Potter?" began Malfoy, standing with his book clips a few paces in front of Harry and Hermione.
"Now all you need to do is come to your senses and leave the bookworm alone." Harry again only looked calmly at Malfoy for a few seconds before replying.
"We had a disagreement and I don't think it will be resolved unless he steps forward and admits his mistake," said Harry.
Turning his gaze back to Hermione he continued as he gave her the crooked grin that Hermione was beginning to identify as a sign of his "flirting mode" after all she had given it back to him at breakfast.
"On the other hand, I find the presence of the exquisite Miss Granger too captivating to pass up," as Hermione blushed up to her neck and her eyes were wide and her mouth gaped open Harry looked back at Malfoy and his gaze again became indifferent before suddenly turning serious.
"Malfoy I'll be honest with you, I'm tired of our game, and I have a sneaking suspicion that you don't see the point in it either." Malfoy expected a response with fury or some sarcasm but this seriousness took him with such surprise.
"So, I tell you what Malfoy, you and I will talk, just between us, it's time to put an end to this nonsense, because if I'm honest I don't even know why I started this feud in the first place" then Harry relaxed a little. "I'll expect you this Saturday at the clock tower at lunchtime."
With that Harry took Hermione's hand and walked to the front where Hagrid was arriving, leaving Malfoy unable to deny both his surprise and his speed in leaving.
Malfoy didn't know how to take this, and if he was honest with himself he was tired of it too, so he made the decision that it didn't hurt to go.
Hermione for her part was happy at how Harry seemed to want to move on in his life even with Malfoy. Forgetting the part where he spoke to her for now they followed Hagrid into the forest.
The first part happened as he remembered, flying with buckbeak across the black lake again gave him a sense of freedom and fulfilment and he swore that although he didn't plan on having to save Sirius this time he certainly wanted to have a ride in the sky with Hermione. Vowing to do so later, he landed where he was greeted by Hagrid.
This is where the difference began, Harry thought about how to make it different, at first he thought that simply throwing Malfoy with a silent banishing spell out of the Hippogriff's attack range might do the trick, but he realised that he could still use the attempted attack to discredit Hagrid even if he wasn't hurt.
"How am I doing on my first day?" asked Hagrid as quietly as he could.
"Brilliant Professor, but if you don't mind, could you pick someone from the other house so it doesn't look like there's favouritism? I think Malfoy is a good choice."
"Very good idea Harry" Hagrid turned to the class then speaking in his highest tone again. "Very good class, now let's move on, Mr. Malfoy, your turn," said Hagrid expectantly.
When he was called at first, he thought to prove that Potter was not the only one who could fly a beast. But as he approached carelessly, Harry, who was still standing beside the hippogriff, spoke to him.
"Malfoy, show the elegance your family boasts so much about and be polite."
Then he stopped, the last thing he wanted was for them to think Potter was classier than him, so instead of arguing he decided to show them that he could do better than him, while I followed the directions Hagrid had given.
If there was one thing Harry always thought it was that Malfoy also enjoyed flying, so he thought that, if the creature showed him how great flying was, it would remove the possibility of any animosity on his part and thus there would be no attack and no sentence for the Hippogriff.
When Malfoy returned he was happy and excited, it was the most amazing flight he had ever had, he gave Potter a simple nod and went back to where his group was with more thoughts in his head.
Hermione was once again happy at the way Harry had forced the situation, when he returned to her side she simply smiled at him and whispered something about his nobility.
The class finished and they had some free time before dinner, at dinner Hermione received a reply from her mother, but she kept the letter to read it when she went to bed.
Harry noticed but said nothing and after dinner and returning to Gryffindor tower Hermione went to bed early, this left Harry enough time to begin an exercise Grindelwald had given him to exercise his magic and make it grow, the idea itself was simple.
It would constantly expend its magic to a point where it would have to recover, and it would do so by continually making its magic have to strengthen and grow to withstand these new burdens, "It is part of you, just as your body is able to strengthen itself with constant training, tearing your muscles apart with stimuli to make them bigger and stronger, magic is the same, it is just that because of your high percentage you must be in constant expenditure for it to be of any use".
How he would spend his magic is a simple thing, he would be expelling it from his body whenever he could, but keeping it under control by making it surround his body constantly, as if it was a layer of magic around his body, it should even be invisible to others, at least until it is too much magic that it will simply become visible.
The problem lies in the fact that, although the idea is simple the execution is complicated, in his first attempt Harry got quite tired just concentrating on feeling his magic and failed to expel it from his body, no doubt it is something that would take him a while to achieve, but it would serve him well, before he started to practice his power and his spells.
Tired, he went back to bed to sleep.
Hermione was impatient, her mother's letter had confirmed Hermione's suspicions, the problem was that her mother had told her to be patient and wait for things to take their course.
Hermione was many things, but when she wanted answers she wanted them yesterday and she needed confirmation from Harry or she would go mad.
Her conclusion, Harry liked Hermione, and apparently, he wasn't trying to hide it, on the contrary, he seemed to be trying to express it in all his actions, which left Hermione with another question.
Did she like Harry, damn right she did! So, for Hermione it was simple but also complicated, why her, why now, although the second answer she could answer herself, she wanted the straight answers from the source.
That led her to her current situation, she was in the common room early, earlier than yesterday waiting for Harry to come downstairs, it was while she was thinking about what to say or ask Harry that he himself appeared down the stairs of the boys' dormitory.
Harry smiled when he saw that Hermione was already in the common room and headed towards her.
Before Harry got to her Hermione, she didn't think as the words just came out of her mouth.
"Harry Potter did you like me as more than just a friend?" Hermione asked rather hastily.
Harry was perplexed, but it only lasted a few seconds before his face turned into a light smile as he took Hermione's hand and led her over to the couch so they could sit down, he knew he wasn't being discreet with his feelings, he also knew how smart his best friend was and that she could read him like an open book when she put her mind to it, so it shouldn't have surprised him that she came to that conclusion, what surprised him was that she confronted him directly.
But then again this was her best friend, the precocious girl who had decided to make a highly illegal potion in her second year to get the answers she wanted.
Hermione was red in the face as she let Harry lead them to the couch not knowing why she said that, well she knew why, but she was mortified at how she did it.
"Well, good morning to you too," Harry said first as he let out a light chuckle before continuing. "So what gave you that idea? If you don't mind me asking first."
"W...well a lot of your actions since we've met again have given me pause, things you've said and..." Hermione hesitated for a moment before continuing. "The way you look at me" Hermione finished quietly as she watched Harry just smile wider and look at her again.
"Yeah just like that, you look at me like..."
"Like I like you?" term Harry for her, to which Hermione just nodded no longer trusting her words as Harry still wouldn't affirm or deny anything.
"I like you Hermione," and with that simple statement Hermione was able to breathe and relax again as she smiled.
"Why me?" Hermione asked, still wanting answers
"There are so many reasons, any one as good as the other, but if I had to say anything it would be that, you are my best friend Hermione, I know you well, and I adore what I know about you, I adore your passion for learning, your persistence for doing the right thing, your nobility in trying to help others, the way you act every moment of the day captivates me, and I just want to be by your side and see you, to know more about you, to be closer to you." Harry smiled at her as he explained his feelings as best he could, although he thought he still couldn't find the right words or that he could express them better, he thought that would be enough for now.
Hermione bit her lip as she processed what was happening, while Harry continued.
"There are many, perhaps too many reasons, and at the same time I don't need any to like you, if you're wondering why now, what I said in Mcgonagall's office was true, I can't waste any more time." With that Harry fell silent.
Hermione was happy, content, but Harry didn't continue, so she thought maybe she should encourage him to continue. At that Hermione perked up and stared at him while smiling at him in what she thought was a mischievous way.
"So, Mr. Potter, I believe you have a question for me, don't you?" Hermione asked.
"No, I'm not going to ask you yet," Harry said, smiling mischievously back at her.
"w-why not!" Hermione was alarmed at that, it didn't make sense they liked each other, he knew it, she was sure of it, so what was to stop him from asking her that they were a couple?
"It's not that I'm not sure, I know how I feel, and I have a sneaking suspicion that you feel the same way" Hermione shook her head nodding not trusting his words as she was still in shock as to why he wasn't going to ask her, at the action, Harry smiled, before turning serious and looking directly at her.
"Hermione, I have changed, I know perfectly well that I am not the same as I was last year, my view of the world has changed and my goals have changed, I am sure you realise that, what I want is for you to be sure that you really like the new me and not the old me," said Harry.
Hermione bit her lip then as she thought about it, it honestly seemed silly to her, but from Harry's point of view she could see the sense in it, she thought it was more for Harry's safety than hers, but she still wanted to respect his decisions, at least for now, but she knew how he felt and she didn't want to wait too long.
"How long?" Hermione asked.
Harry blinked, he hadn't expected this insistence from her, but then again, she always managed to surprise him, even though she shouldn't, he already knew her, she was the girl who would study months before exam periods, the girl who used a time-turner, waiting wasn't her strongest point when she was already clear about something.
"Let's wait a few days, while you get used to the idea of this new me, or while I get used to the idea," Harry said as well.
Hermione sighed, but she didn't despair either, Harry wasn't saying no, he was just putting it off, at least it would give her time to get used to the idea while the hustle and bustle of the start of school passed.
"What about Ron?" asked Hermione doubtfully as she was still angry at how Ron acted when they were given the timetable.
"What about him?" asked Harry.
"Well if he realises our feelings he'll probably think he was right about your schedule, and he'll think we're conspiring and any chance of you regaining his friendship will probably disappear," Hermione explained as if it were a class problem.
"Well the truth is I haven't had the intention of hiding how I feel, you realised it very early on, and I'm sure a lot of people will have realised it by now, whether Ron realises it or not is his problem, I don't have to explain myself to him, and if he thinks badly of me or you for that matter then I don't think he's a friend I want back, only time will tell" Harry said with a shrug of his shoulders.
There was a silence as Hermione reflected on that, she certainly didn't like Ron's outburst but giving up their friendship seemed like a big step for Harry, and although it only added weight to his words of being different Hermione also agreed that they made sense.
If a friend wasn't happy when his friends who liked each other became a couple, then he certainly wasn't a great friend, it just meant that it was up to Ronald to keep his friendship.
"Well, then I was wondering if this pretty lady would care to join me for breakfast," said Harry with exaggerated theatricality as he bowed in an equally exaggerated curtsy.
To which Hermione could only laugh, then returned the less theatrical bow. "It would be a pleasure to accompany this gentleman".
Putting her hand on his flexed arm they walked out into the large dining room laughing at Harry's antics.
Author's note: Don't kill me for postponing them becoming a couple pls I promise it won't take long practically a blink of an eye, now the next chapter I try to portray part of what I want to do regarding magic in this story I hope you enjoy it or at least understand it.
PS. in the next chapter we will see the old Gellert again.
