Mario went to schedule another fight.
"Welcome to the automated match-reservation system. What is your command?"
Mario had selected 'Reserve a Match'. Mr. Grubba had appeared on the screen.
He told them, "Well, dog my cats! If it ain't the great Red Comet! Fixin' for a fight, huh?"
Mario confirmed, "Yes we are."
Mr. Grubba chuckled, "Hoo-wee! Yer gonna love this! Yer next opponent is... Ranked 9 in the Glitz Pit... The Poker Faces! Now listen: in this battle, I want you to avoid usin' any of them there Flower Points. Yeah, you heard me! Let's see how you do without none of them fancy-pants moves! Now get in there an' show me somethin'."
Mario replied, "Got it. This time going with Blaze will be the Icy Punch and the Pink Destructor."
To that, Mr. Grubba nodded and turned off the screen. Luigi went over to Violet.
He told her, "Hey, good luck."
Violet giggled, "You know Goombella I got this."
Luigi replied, "I know."
That's when security came in and escorted Violet, Goombella, and Blaze to their fight.

Mr. Grubba announced, "For our next battle, we got the Merciless Executioners; Icy Punch, Blaze, and Pink Destructor! And... The Ultimate Weapons... Yep, a fight to the finish with The Poker Faces!"
Goombella asked, "Ready to kick some butt, Violet?"
Violet answered, "You know me, Goombella! I'm always ready!" She turned to Blaze, "Ready?"
Blaze nodded, "Ready!"
One of the Poker Faces laughed, "You're gonna be coleslaw, kids! And that ain't good!"
Mr. Grubba commented, "Let's get yerselves ready to...battle!"
The gong went off as the fight begun. Goombella, Blaze, and Violet used a few special moves before taking out the Poker Faces.
Mr. Grubba stated, "We got ourselves the winners! Icy Punch, Blaze, and Pink Destructor!"
Goombella cheered, "Yay, we did it!"
Violet giggled, "Knew that we would."
Blaze danced, "Wahoo!"

After the fight, Jolene gave them some money. She gave them eleven coins and their ranking went up to nine. Jolene left them once again. Mario went to schedule another fight.
"Welcome to the automated match-reservation system. What is your command?"

Now listen: in this battle, I want you to avoid usin' any of those special moves! Including your hand powers. I think the crowd is cravin' a nice, long simple battle at it's simplest and finest! Now get in there an' don't go a-grandstandin'."
Mario replied, "Got it. This time going with Blaze will be the Shell Raiser and the Windy Madame."
To that, Mr. Grubba nodded and turned off the screen. It didn't take long for security to come in and take them all to the fight.

Mr. Grubba announced, "For our next battle, we got the Merciless Executioners; Shell Raiser, Blaze, and Windy Madame! And... The Thorny Demons! Yep, a fight to the finish with The Tiny Spinies!"
Blaze declared, "You are going down!"
Koops stated, "Yeah we are going to win this fight without a fuss!"
Flurrie added, "We're going to take you down!"
One of the Tiny Spinies taunted, "Whee! It's gonna be fun poking fun at you!"
Mr. Grubba commented, "Let's get yerselves ready to...battle!"
The gong went off as the fight begun. With using just some usual moves, they took down the Tiny Spinies.
Mr. Grubba stated, "We got ourselves the winners! Shell Raiser, Blaze, and Windy Madame!"
Blaze was giddy, "We did it!"
Koops commented, "Good work you two."
Flurrie replied, "Thanks Koops."

After the fight, Jolene gave them some money. She gave them twelve coins and their ranking went up to eight. Jolene left them once again. All of the sudden, Mario's Mailbox SP went off. Mario opened it and read the email loud.
He read, "Go to the watering hole outside the Glitz Pit. From X."
Goombella asked, "The watering hole? If you say so, X. Who is this mystery guy?!"
Mario answered, "No idea but we should check it out. C'mon, let's go."
The team all agreed with Mario as they headed to the watering hole.
Koops questioned, "Who do you think that this X guy is?"
Luigi admitted, "Not even sure myself. And how do we even know if we can trust him?"
Flurrie frowned, "Good point, Luigi."
Blaze added, "Or even if this X person isn't evil."
Violet stated, "I guess we're about to find out. We're here."
True to her words, they had arrived at the watering hole that X was talking about. Mario went up to a waiter, who perked up at their presence.
The waiter (John) commented, "Oh, you're Mr. Comet! Yeah, that's the mustache and his team I've been waiting for!"
Violet raised a brow, "We are?"
John confirmed, "Yep! You're pretty late... Somebody left a package and a note by the door a bit ago."
Blaze perked up, "Really?"
John said, "Yes the letter said: 'look for a think-'stached man named Comet, along with his team, and give them this'."
Flurrie asked, "This what though?"
John replied, "The 'this' the letter was talking about is...this."
That's when he gave them a super hammer.
Koops breathed, "Ooh a super hammer!"
John nodded, "So far's I could tell, that hammer's a new model, the Hammerwhack 2005... Real nice hammer all around. Solid craftmanship, good grip, and high bonkability."
Luigi responded, "This looks like a great hammer!"
John said, "The commercials for this thing say that the hammer chooses its user..."
Goombella asked, "Is that so?"
John answered, "Think so. They aren't cheap either. So whoever gave this to you must be a big fan. But... Why leave it in this juice shop? Doesn't that strike you as a bit odd?"
Mario stated, "It is a bit odd. But whatever is going on, we'll face it together."
