Belly full he demanded they keep going, but she still wasn't even sure what she was looking for. "Sesshomaru,"

"If I were a witch who crossed someone, even if my reasons were good,"
He narrowed his eyes at the back of her head and she could feel it.
"I think I would go someplace untraceable,"
He stopped walking and Kagome stopped and looked back. The sun was gone and it was growing darker by the second. "She won't be found unless she wants to be found,"
He looked around. "Even if she has, all beings are traceable in some measure, find a barrier,"
Kagome sighed. He realized, even from a few feet away he could not make out her face so he stepped closer.
"We need to make a fire and start camp,"
He blinked.
"Human," She said,
"Do not remind me."
Sesshomaru sat nonetheless and Kagome rolled her eyes and gathered wood for a fire. Sesshomaru watched as she tried, multiple times to light it with no such luck.
"Move Miko,"
She looked up "Hu?"
Sesshomaru pointed his hand out, like he had done all his life, and called forth his power to light wood but nothing happened. Nothing would happen. He stared as the unsettling realization hit him.
Kagome tried again and lit the wood aflame.
He pulled his hand back and then his eyes met hers. Rage ran through him and he didnt need to be a demon for her to know that he was seeing red.
She couldn't tell him it was ok, because truly, even if this woman's heart was in the right place, it was cruel to take away everything he had ever known.
But as she laid down to sleep she thought about how people often made huge sacrifices for love.
So while he was raging war inside his head Kagome closed her eyes and kept her mouth shut, because at the end of this, it might just save his soul.
