Tails here, after a year, back with chapter 7, just so you know, touched up chapter 4 a bit as well, this chapter was real fun to type. I think I captured Ruby dealing with the Battle of Fairy Tail, really well. One question should I continue straight to the next chapter, I feel like I'm in a rhythm, or another story?

We find an annoyed Ruby, and a calm Makarov walking through what looks like a junkyard. "Really Master Makarov, you can't seriously be thinking about asking Black Steel to join the Guild just because Lockser cares enough to ask us to check on him, especially after what he did to Levy!" Ruby yells, not happy with the situation at all.
"Please Ruby, you know our Guilds foremost belief is redemption and changing for the better. Now there has to be more to Gajeel Redfox than his reputation tells, considering a nice and caring lass like Juvia was worried and asked us to check on him." Makarov smiles, and Ruby huffs, the 2 of them are walking along, when they see a large pile of scrap with Gajeel sitting on top of it, as well as eating a gear in his hand, Ruby can't help but chuckle at how hurt he still is, with most of his body still being covered in bandages, his left arm in a cast, same with his right leg, while his ribs are bandaged and padded. The chuckle grabs his attention. "Hey there, brat does that metal taste good." He asks, smiling.
"Master Makarov, and… the Demon Fairy, what are you doing here?" Gajeel asks, as Makarov is climbing up the scrap pile.
"Well you see that young lass, Juvia joined Fairy Tail a few days ago." Makarov says, surprising him.
"What, Juvia joined Fairy Tail?!" Gajeel yells.
"Yes, yes, and she seemed to be pretty worried about you, you know. Now that I see you, I can see why, Natsu did quite the number on you, huh. Heh, kind of reminds me of myself in my younger days." Makarov says, surprising Ruby. "Now there's no reason for you to go into the darkness, so how 'bout you follow Juvia and join Fairy Tail." He says, shocking Gajeel.
"You gotta be joking." Gajeel says.
"There are people who prefer to be alone, I understand that, but no one in the world can handle total isolation." Makarov says, flicking his eyes towards Ruby, and shocking Gajeel even more, and he looks away.
"You would invite the guy who destroyed your Guildhall." Gajeel says.
"It was a building and nothing more, it can be rebuilt, what's more important are the people who gather there, and the memories made there." Makarov says, and Gajeel looks down.
"And those 3, I hurt them real badly." Gajeel says, he then feels both Makarov and Ruby's Magic spike.
"Now that, no matter the reason, is something I can't forgive." Makarov says, as his and Ruby's Magic is slowly manifesting, shaking the area, shocking and frightening Gajeel, but Makarov's Magic settles. "But… if that feeling prevented me from guiding a young, talented Wizard to a better path, I couldn't, no, I wouldn't forgive myself." Ha says, surprising Gajeel. "I am not trying to 'save' you nor do I think I am, I'm just doing the right thing and showing you a better path, now whether you follow that path… that is something only you can decide." He says holding a hand out to Gajeel, Gajeel stares at it, and then looks at Ruby.
"And you, what's your part in this, why are you here, and what do you think of this?" Gajeel asks, Ruby stares at him, and her Magic spikes immensely, and her Hair flashes white with blue tips, while her sclera flashes black with pink eyes, and the area starts shaking.
"I don't know why Makarov wanted me of all members to come with him, but after what you did to Levy, Jet and Droy, I doubt I could ever forgive you, but it's not my place to question the Guildmaster!" Ruby growls, slightly terrifying Gajeel, her Magic then recedes, as her body glows bright pink, and she flies off back to Magnolia.
[2 weeks later]
Ruby is carrying an unconscious Natsu, to Porlyusica's house, and very annoyed, Happy is flying behind her at a small distance and shivering. "I can't believe the idiot ate pure Lacrima infused by the magic from the Etherion Blast." Ruby mutters, after hearing what happened at the Tower of Heaven from Ur, after a few minutes, they make it to the edge of town, when Laxus appears outside the gate. "Oh, hey Laxus." She says, noticing the annoyance in his eyes, and feeling his magic, he's currently a Maelstrom of anger.
"What happened to him?" Laxus asks, pointing to Natsu.
"He ate crystalized magic, created from the Etherion Blast, during the debacle with Siegrain, or well Jellal." She says. "Scarlett, the Blonde and Gray didn't even think to take him to Porlyusica, and instead they just let him walk around with what would've been some form of magic poisoning, if Natsu was anything but a Slayer." Ruby growls at their stupidity, and Laxus growls and scowls.
"Well when you drop him off with Granny, come to my house, there's something I need to discuss with you, I've already run it by the Tribe last time I saw them." He says, and she nods, Laxus turns to Lightning and flies off, and she continues on to Porlyusica's house, she gets to her treehouse and knocks on the door, she hears a huff as a the door opens, and sees Porlyusica with a raised broom, only to see her eyes widen and she huffs.
"So last time, it was Natsu bringing you and Makarov here, now it's you bringing Natsu here, what happened?" Porlyusica asks, annoyed, and Ruby explains what she was told by Ur. "So the brat ate crystalized Magic created by the Etherion, leave him here." She says, and Ruby nods, setting Natsu on one of the beds, and leaves while Happy stays there, her body glows bright pink and she flies back to Magnolia and heads to Laxus's house, only to see a Lightning Bolt strike the park.
(That's Laxus's Magic.) Ruby thinks, as she changes course, heading that way, she lands in the park to see Laxus, Gajeel, Levy, Jet and Droy, and Laxus is completely wailing on Gajeel.
"What the hell is going on here!" Ruby yells, gettingLevy, Jet and Droy's attention, while Laxus ignores her and continues wailing on Gajeel.
"Ruby, you can stop Laxus right, he listens to you?" Levy asks.
"Answer my question Levy, what are you all doing here, why are the 3 of you anywhere near Black Steel?" Ruby asks, Levy looks at Jet and Droy annoyed.
"Jet and Droy couldn't let sleeping dogs lie, and wanted payback on Gajeel, so they asked him to come here, and they attacked him, then Laxus appeared, and now it's getting out of hand." Levy says.
"But why's he not fighting back, even against Laxus?" Droy wonders
"Maybe he's suicidal." Ruby says, uncaring. "But what do you mean by 'even against Laxus'?" She asks.
"Gajeel wasn't fighting back against Jet and Droy, he was just letting them wail on him." Levy explains, making Ruby raise a brow.
"You're the reason people are making fun of our Guild, if you really want to make amends, you can start by dying, I'll kill anybody who opposes Fairy Tail!" Laxus yells, enraged.
"Laxus, let up he's had enough." Jet says, as he and Droy take a step forward.
"Shut the hell up you worthless excuse of a Mage!" Laxus screams, launching a lightning bolt at the 2, shocking Ruby, but then surprising everyone, Gajeel appears in front of the 2, taking the attack, he stands there wobbling, and walks over and grabs his travel pack.
"Are we done here, I have a job to do, damn it and I just got done fully healing." Gajeel says, walking away.
"Gajeel…" Levy says, surprising Ruby.
"Just leave me alone!" Gajeel growls, leaving.
(How can, why is Levy worrying about Black Steel, after what he did to her?) Ruby thinks confused.
(You and I both know that Levy is just like Lisanna was, she's too kind for her own good, she's not the type to hold a grudge, plus with what we just saw, it looks like Black Steel is taking Master up on a path to betterment.) Her Inner Demon responds, surprising her, she shakes her head, and walks over to Laxus who's walking away, she notices the look of pure unadulterated rage on his face.
(I don't have a good feeling about that look on his face.) She thinks, not liking the feeling in her gut, looking at his face, after 30 minutes, the 2 make it to his house, they sit down in the living room, where Ruby is looking at him worried, he then looks up at her and takes a deep breathe.
"In a few days the Thunder God Tribe will be back in town, we're going to take over the Guild." Laxus says, shocking her. "I'm tired of Gramps ruining the Guild, after what happened with Phantom Lord, and now Gramps letting 2 of the former members join, including the one who destroyed the Guildhall, everyone is laughing at us, because of Gramps to many weaklings are a part of the Guild, we're going to make this Guild what it's supposed to be, we're going to show and cement our place as the strongest Guild." He says, looking at her.
"I'll admit, some of Makarov's decision's the past couple of years have gotten on my nerves, and him inviting Black Steel has snapped my patience, but…" Ruby says looking down, and Laxus sighs.
"I know you'd rather not fight against the Guild, that's why I'm telling you now you don't have to participate, just don't interfere." He says, surprising her and she nods, she leaves and heads to Macao's and heads to her room, sitting against the wall, conflicted she sighs and pulls Summer out of her pouch.
"Ruby?" Summer asks, kindly, seeing the storm inside her daughter.
"Mom, what do I do, what should I do?" Ruby asks, pulling her legs to her chest and staring at the opposite wall, with all of the pictures, causing Summer to sigh sadly, seeing the edge of her eyes tearing up.
"Believe me honey, I wish I could tell you what you should do, because you know what I'd want you to do, but I can't, what you do here is not something I can decide for you, only your Heart can." Summer says, and Ruby buries her face in her arms, two days later, Ruby's in the rebuilt Guild, she's sitting at a table overlooking the main hall, when a plate of cookies and milk it set down in front, she looks over to see Mira, who smiles at her, and Ruby just scoffs.
"Ruby, I know you and I have never really gotten along, but I'm worried about you. You've been acting odd since yesterday, is everything alright, it seems like you have a lot of weight on your shoulders right now." Mira says, Ruby glares at her, making her flinch, but she stands her ground seeing the uncertainty in Ruby's eyes.
"What would you know?" Ruby growls, and Mira sighs and sits in the chair across from her.
"Before Master helped me control my Magic, I thought all I was, was a monster, a monster that put her siblings in danger, you know we lost our parents because they were trying to protect me from the villagers of the village we used to live in. Before we left our old village, I was constantly under the weight of fear that my 'curse' would also get Lisanna or Elfman killed, there were times I wondered if maybe it'd be better if I killed myself." Mira says, looking down, so she doesn't see Ruby's eyes widen in shock, as something cracks inside of her.
"Fa… Mira, what would you do if you knew something bad was going to happen, but trying to stop it would put you against someone you cared about?" Ruby asks, surprising Mira and Summer.
(That snippet of Mira's past must've really gotten to Ruby.) Summer thinks, sadly.
"If someone you care about is doing something you know is wrong, you stop them, it may be hard to go against them, but at the end of the day, they're in the wrong and you're in the right." Mira says, gently.
"But, what if it's more complicated than that, what if you agree with why they're doing it?" Ruby asks, and Mira sighs.
"That can certainly complicate the question, but it doesn't change the answer, they're still in the wrong, no matter if you agree with their reasons, but why are you asking?" Mira asks, only to see Ruby's walls come back up, as she looks away, making Mira sigh, and she walks away.
"Thank you… Mira." Ruby says, as Mira is going down the stairs, shocking her immensely, and she smiles, she continues down and heads backstage getting ready for the Miss Fairy Tail Contest.
"Hey Mira, what's with the smile?" Cana asks, getting Lucy, Levy and Erza's attention, plus 2 other girls 1 is a girl with long, green hair and purple eyes, she's only wearing a purple bikini, and the other has shoulder-length, azure blue hair and midnight blue eyes, she wearing a blue and white dress, hat and boots, with white, shoulder-length gloves.
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you Cana, have you girls noticed how Ruby's been odd since yesterday?" Mira asks, Lucy and the blue haired girl are the only ones who don't nod. "Well I took her some milk and cookies, and asked her if anything was wrong, at first she was as cold to me as usual, but I opened up to her about my doubt with my magic when I was younger, and we actually talked a bit, and when we were done, she… she actually thanked me and even called me Mira." She says, surprising them except the blue haired girl.
"Juvia is confused, why is that surprising?" The blue haired girl asks.
"It's because Ruby and I never got along after we met, and after the death of my sister, Lisanna, I became a permanent addition on Ruby's shit-list, that is the first amicable conversation we've had in 2 years, and the first time she's ever said thank you to me." Mirajane says, shocking Lucy and Juvia.
"How, I've seen you take food to her, and she has to tell you what she wants." Lucy says, only for the girls to chuckle, except her and Juvia.
"Lucy, except for you, Ur, Juvia and Gajeel, I know the favorite Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Desserts, of everyone in the Guild." Mira says, shocking Lucy and Juvia, then a man comes back behind the curtains, he has a blonde bowl cut, black eyes, and he's wearing a blue button up shirt, blue pants and light shoes.
"Are you all ready?" He asks, as we move back over to Ruby, and Natsu sits in the chair across from her.
"Thanks for taking me to Porlyusica the other day." Natsu says, he then notices her plate. "You haven't touched your cookies, that isn't like you, you alright?" He asks, and she nods.
"I'm just… thinking about some things." Ruby says, then scoffing at the girls participating in the, in her mind, stupid beauty contest, when it gets to Lucy, she plans to do a cheer dance with some of her Celestial Spirits, but then Ruby zeroes in on the woman walking onto the stage, she has long, light brown hair in a side ponytail, dark brown eyes behind oval glasses, she's wearing a green dress, navy blue stockings and white sandals, she has a green Fairy Tail Guild Mark on her right breast.
"No way, that's Evergreen, what's she doing here, her, Freed and Bickslow are never here." Natsu says shocked, after a bit of commotion Evergreen uses one of her Magics, Stone Eyes to turn Lucy into a stone statue, she then flourishes and the curtain recedes, showing Cana, Mira, Erza, Juvia, the green haired girl and Levy also turned to stone.
"Levy!" Ruby growls, and Natsu jumps over the Rail, as a livid Makarov walks towards the stage, then a lightning bolt strikes the stage, and standing there is a Laxus, Evergreen, a slim man with waist-length, light green hair and greenish-blue eyes, wearing a dark red, knee-length double breasted coat, and a tall, muscular man wearing a mildly fitting, black shirt with white vertical stripes, the shirt extends into a tight hood, with a metal visor, so only his mouth can be seen, baggy, black pants covered by a massive, bright blue waist guard, each with a large, black X on it, his pants are tucked into armored greaves.
"Hey, weaklings of Fairy Tail, ready for a real Festival." Laxus says, menacingly.
"Laxus!?" Makarov yells.
"Freed and Bickslow as well!" Gray says.
"Gray, who are those 3, and what's going on?" Ur asks.
"The girl is Evergreen, the hooded one with totem heads floating around him is Bickslow, and the green haired guy is Freed, leader of their team, the Thunder God Tribe, and self proclaimed bodyguards of Laxus." Gray explains to her.
"I have a fun game we can play, Gramps." Laxus says, a terrifying grin on his face.
"Laxus, stop with this nonsense, we still have preparations to make for the Fantasia Parade, now turn the girls back to normal!" Makarov yells.
"Oh, come on the parade is tonight and there's plenty of time, don't you want to have a bit of fun, but I wonder who will still be alive by then." Laxus says, smirking as a lighting bolt comes down to strike the petrified Lucy.
"NO!" Makarov yells, and the bolt strikes beside her, and Laxus chuckles.
"You see Gramps, the girls are my hostages, if you break the rules of the game, we break a hostage." Laxus explains.
"If you think this is a game, you're in for a very rude awakening!" Makarov snarls.
"We're very serious about this game." Laxus says.
"We're simply going to see who the strongest wizards in the Guild are?" Freed says.
"Yeah, let's play!" Bickslow cackles, and the totem heads floating around him, mimic him.
"The rules are simple, the last one standing is the winner. This is the Battle of Fairy Tail!" Laxus says, he then notices the calculating look in Gray's eyes. "Are you confused by something Gray?" He asks.
"Well, you're all here, and you're going against all of us, but aren't you missing someone, somebody who always takes your side?" Gray asks, making everyone realize the same thing, and Laxus just nods his head pointing everyone to look at Ruby, who is currently glaring at Evergreen.
"Ruby, has nothing to do with this, this is our game." Laxus says. "Ever, release Levy." Laxus orders, shocking everyone, but she doesn't question Laxus, and returns Levy to normal, he points everyone to Ruby again and they see her stop glaring, and sit back down and stop caring about what's going on.
"If you want the rest of these girls back to normal, you simply have to defeat us." Evergreen says.
"Yep, and there's only four of us, and near a hundred of you, the odds are stacked in your favor, you know!" Bickslow cackles.
"There's a 3 hour time limit, if you can't defeat us before then, then the girls will turn to sand." She explains, and Levy is scared, but happy Laxus is seemingly being nice to her.
"WHAT! Are you serious?! You'd go that far?!" Some random members yell.
"Laxus!" Makarov growls.
"The battlefield is all of Magnolia, once you find us, the battle begins." Freed says.
"Don't toy with me, you foolish brat!" Makarov yells, angry, as his Magic spikes, and he turns giant.
"I told you not to fly off the handle; it's just the festival's entertainment." Laxus says, and there's a bright flash, blinding everyone. "Let the Battle of Fairy Tail begin!" He yells, and when everyone can see again, the four of them are gone.
"They vanished! What are we doing, playing tag, using all of Magnolia, Laxus!" More random members yell, rushing out of the Guildhall.
"I have to save my sister!" Elfman yells, really mad, also rushing out of the Guild, along with a bunch of members.
"That annoying brat." Makarov glowers, then runs off to. "When I find that punk, I'm going to put a stop to all of this!" He screams, only to run into a seemingly invisible wall in the entrance to the Guild.
"What's wrong, Old Man?" Ur asks, going through the doorway.
"I can't get through, it's like there's an invisible wall." Makarov says, trying to push through, Gray runs up, and tries to push Makarov through, but he will not budge even an inch through.
"What's this in the air?" Ur asks, getting Gray and Makarov's attention, and they see the runic words in the air.
"Gramps, isn't this Freed's…" Natsu says, walking up, and Makarov nods.
"Yes this is Freed's Jutsu-Shiki." Makarov says.
"Jutsu-Shiki?" Ur says, confused.
"A type of Ward, it's a pre-planned and placed Magic that creates a trap, and anyone who walks into one of them, has to follow Freed's rules or they aren't getting out. He must have Jutsu-Shiki all around the building. Look at the Rule, 'Anyone over 80 or stone statues are prohibited from crossing this border.' Jutsu-Shiki take a long time to draw, they're not very useful in sudden battles, but when it comes to planningtraps, there is no greater Magic." Makarov explains.
"So this is why you can't leave, can't you break it?" Gray asks, but Makarov shakes his head.
"The rules of a Jutsu-Shiki are absolute, when did Freed place it though?" Makarov wonders, Gray growls.
"They never intended to let you participate; in the first place, they thought this through." Gray says, scowling.
"Yeah, take the biggest threat out of the equation, altogether." Natsu says, and the 2 run to handle the situation, only for Natsu to slam into the invisible wall, shocking everyone. "What the hell, why can't I get through, I'm not over 80!?" He yells.
"Well, this is just great; Ur and I will just have to handle this ourselves." Gray says.
"Damn it, well you better be careful, Ice Princess, if they've put this much thought, there are probably Jutsu-Shiki traps all over the town, Freed's the type of bastard to do that." Natsu says, Gray and Ur nod at that, but before they can run off, a new set of runes appear, but these ones aren't a rule but a report.
"Jet Vs Droy Vs Alzack." Natsu reads aloud.
"What's that supposed to mean?!" Makarov yells.
"That bastard, remember what Freed said, 'We're simply going to see who the strongest wizards in the Guild are.' the members who get trapped have to fight each other to get out!" Natsu seethes.
"Winner: Alzack, Jet and Droy: unable to defend themselves, remaining Fairy Tail members: 81." Makarov reads, horrified, and we see Laxus in Cardia Cathedral.
"So Gramps, I wonder, how long can the Fairy Cannibalise itself!" Laxus chuckles, back at the Guild, Gray and Ur have run off, along with Reedus, who Makarov asked to go to Porlyusica for anything that might get rid of the petrification, Natsu, Makarov, Happy, Levy and Ruby watch as multiple reports pop up.
"Max Vs Warren, Winner: Warren." Natsu reads.
"Krov Vs Nigy, Tie: took each out." Happy reads.
"Wang Vs Joy, Winner: Wang." Makarov reads.
"Mickey, only survivor of a field of 4." Levy reads.
(Wakaba Vs Macao, Battle begun.) Ruby thinks, a pang of hurt in her chest.
"STOP IT, WILL YOU ALL JUST STOP!" Makarov screams.
"This is horrible, it's worse when we can't even see what's going on, how bad these fights are." Levy says.
"Would you really want to see?" Ruby asks, now standing by them, holding her plate of cookies, which is still untouched, which Makarov and Natsu notice.
"Of course, they're our Guild-Mates, we need to know what they're going through!" Levy yells, surprising Ruby, but she nods, and requips a Light Pen, as a jumble of Runes appear, and they see her quickly make alterations to certain sections of runes, and she requips the light pen away.
"What'd you do?" Makarov asks, as Gajeel pops his head out from behind the counter eating metal tableware, as well as 3 reports pop up.
"Reedus Vs Freed, Elfman Vs Evergreen, and Gray Vs Bickslow." Natsu reads, when 3 screens pop up in the air under the reports, they watch as Reedus is taken out pretty quick, same with Elfman, they hear laughing and see a thought projection of Laxus.
"Freed told me the Jutsu-Shiki had been altered, thought you were going against me Ruby, but all you did was create broadcast projections of the fights." Laxus says, surprising them.
"I told you I wouldn't interfere, but Levy was insistent on seeing what the rest are going through." Ruby says.
"Why is Natsu still here, he'd normally be in the thick of this?" He asks.
"The Jutsu-Shiki won't let him through." She says, surprising him.
"Well that's one less thorn in my side, with Gramps, Natsu and Erza out of the picture, our victory is assured." He laughs.
"Laxus, you're forgetting about Gray and Ur." Natsu growls.
"So you're going to hedge all your bets, on the loser Ice Mage and his washed up teacher." Laxus laughs harder, as they all look at the projection of Gray and Bickslow, but no one notices Ruby throwing Laxus a side eye.
[Gray Vs Bickslow]
Bickslow rushes at Gray and sweep kicks him, Gray jumps over it. "HAHAHAHA, go my babies!" Bickslow cackles, and the 5 totem heads scatter around Gray and release magic beams , but Gray manages to dodge each one. "Now Line Formation!" He commands, as the totem heads stack on each other creating a totem pole, and release a vertical crescent-like beam, but Gray dodges by jumping on a mannequin. "you're pretty good for a punk who's younger than me, but you're done for, Gray, next is our victory Formation!" He cackles but nothing happens. "What's going on, babies?" He asks, looking back to see the totem heads frozen. "When did he manage…, more importantly, why's the ice black?!" He yells, shocked, just like Natsu, Levy, Makarov, and Laxus, Natsu's the only one to notice Ruby smirk, Gray then knee's Bickslow in the chin, throwing him back.
"So he's finally revealing it." Ruby says, catching the others' attention, but making Natsu and Levy realize what they're about to see, Gray holds his hands out.
"Ice God Make: Swords!" Gray chants, and swords made of black ice form in his hands, he rushes towards Bickslow surprising him with his speed, only to be assaulted by dozens of slashes, Gray jumps and slashes down in an X Formation, cutting an X in Bickslow's chest and carving an X into the floor, the swords shatter away, and Gray launches at Bickslow, who's on the ground, his fist radiating a black mist. "Ice Gods Frigid Fist!" Gray yells, launching his fist at Bickslow's chest.
"X Formation!" Bickslow yells, crossing his arms in an X, and 2 mannequins float in front of him, blocking the attack, Gray jumps back as Bickslow chuckles getting up. "Now that caught me off guard, since when could you do that, what even is that?!" He screams, as Gray throws his shirt and jacket off.
"Well, I could do this ever since the day after Phantom's attack, and isn't it obvious from the spell, Natsu's a Dragon Slayer, Ruby's a Devil Slayer, and now I'm a God Slayer, this is Ice God Slayer Magic." Gray says, starting to radiate a black mist, shocking Bickslow, Makarov and Laxus.
"Now how did you move the mannequins, I froze your dolls?" Gray asks, and Bickslow chuckles.
"My version of seith Magic, Puppetry, takes souls and places them inside dolls! You may be able to freeze the dolls, but I can easily move the souls into other dolls!" Bickslow cackles.
"Then I'll just freeze you instead!" Gray screams, as a miniature blizzardof black ice, frost and snow start to billow around him.
"Oh you can try, I dare you to!" Bickslow cackles, turning to run out of the store there, only for Gray to slam his foot on the ground and his Magic spikes as a dome of black ice forms around the store, surprising Bickslow and Laxus.
"What, did you really think I'd let you run away and lead me into one of Freed's traps, Ice Gods Glacial Crash!" Gray yells, appearing beside him, and slamming his foot into Bickslow's head, slamming it into the ground, Gray jumps back as Bickslow tries to kick at him, Bickslow gets up growling and holds his hand out at Gray,
"Baryon Formation!" Bickslow yells, as his 5 dolls, now in mannequins, form a circle and start to spin, forming a large ball of green Magic, and Gray jumps back, pulls his head back and takes a deep breathe, shocking those watching, including Bickslow,
"Ice Gods Bellow!" Gray roars, releasing chunks of black Ice, frost and snow from his mouth, at the same time that Bickslow's spell fires a massive green beam, causing a clash, both are pushing each other back, on the projection they see Gray raise his hand and lash it at Bickslow. (Ice God's Snow Lashing!) He thinks, and a rope of black snow and frost lashes out and wraps around Bickslow neck, shocking him, but it's the tug that slams his face into the ground again, that breaks his concentration on his Spell, he gets up and is hit by the Bellow. Gray stands there watching to see if Bickslow was beaten, but he sees Bickslow getting up, covered in black frost, shivering, he's growling and reaching towards his helmet only for Gray to appear in front of him, with black blades on his elbows.
"Ice-God-Blades : Seven Slice Judgement!" Gray yells spinning and slicing him 5 times, then slices with both blades, launching Bickslow back only for Gray to slam him into the ground with another Ice God's Glacial Crash, then slams his hand down on him, cracking the floor. "Ice God Winter's Grasp!" Gray yells, as a now unconscious Bickslow is frozen in Black ice, well, all but his head. (I've finally caught up to you Natsu.) He thinks.
[Guildhall]
The projection disappears and the report comes up. "Gray Vs Bickslow, winner: Gray, Bickslow unable to defend himself!" Levy reads, happy.
"Take that Laxus, you should've known better than to count Gray out!" Natsu cheers, and snickering on the inside seeing Laxus's livid look, and his thought projection disappears.
"DAMN IT, HOW COULD BICKSLOW LOSE TO GRAY OF ALL PEOPLE!" Laxus rages, at the Cathedral.
"Ruby…" Makarov goes to ask.
"Of course I knew about this Makarov, did you think Laxus wouldn't tell me," Ruby says walking back to the upper floor.
"Then why aren't you fighting, or at least alter the Jutsu-Shiki, so Natsu and Makarov can get involved." Levy says, and Ruby stares at her.
"I told Laxus, I wouldn't interfere, that's why he had you released from Evergreen's Stone Eyes, he knows you're the only reason I'd go against him." Ruby says, but requipping a book and throwing it at her. "If you want the 2 of them in the fray, that book is on Jutsu-Shiki. Freed gave it to me, as a gift, after I became S-Class, it's the same book he learned it from." Ruby says.
"Ruby, what does Laxus want?" Makarov asks.
"You're spot, ever since the attack by Phantom Lord, then you inviting the guy who destroyed our Guild and hurt 3 of our members, plus that absolutely terrible song Black Steel made, and the subsequent magazine by Sorcerers Weekly, the entire Country is laughing at the Guild, Laxus blames you." Ruby says, and Makarov goes to say something. "And he's right, you're too passive, if you put Jose in his place, in the first place, Phantom's attack would never have happened! If you were tougher handed… if you were tougher handed, Lisanna would still be alive!" Ruby screams, shocking the 3, and angering Natsu, who starts growling, but Makarov holds his hand up, stopping him, subtly pointing the 2 to look closely at Ruby, Natsu and Levy look, and are shocked to see her unknowingly crying.
"I'll be fair about Lisanna, you're correct, if I had been tougher, made Mirajane understand things better, yes Lisanna would probably still be alive, but with Jose, even if I knocked him down a couple pegs, it wouldn't have prevented the attack, people like Jose are never satisfied with what they have. But this Guild will never accept Laxus as Guild Master, as he is Laxus is missing the 2 biggest requirements to be the Guild Master of Fairy Tail, Heart and Conviction." Makarov says, gently, as he, Natsu, Levy and Happy walk off to the side, though Levy stops, and looks over at Gajeel, still chomping on the tableware.
"And why are you still here Gajeel?" Levy asks, hands on her hips.
"Not my fight." Gajeel says, simply.
"Really, you know if he does win, he'll probably try to kill you again, and how is it not your fight, even after he beat you into the ground the other day, plus you're a member of the Guild now." She says, taunting him a bit, and he scowls and huffs.
"Maybe I do have a score to settle with him." Gajeel says walking to the entrance, when they all hear Ruby chuckle darkly.
"You, fight Laxus, please you couldn't even beat Natsu." Ruby taunts him, and he growls.
"He was in Dragonforce, and tapping into some weird power I've never seen before!" Gajeel growls.
"Yeah, even in Dragonforce, and tapping into his demonic power, Natsu was only equal to Laxus's base level, I mean I won't stop you, it'll be fun to watch you get destroyed by Laxus." Ruby giggles at the end, Gajeel growls, but heads out ignoring her, well that was the plan, but like Natsu and Makarov, Gajeel hits an invisible wall.
"WHAT!?" Natsu, Levy, Happy and Makarov yell.
"What the hell, why can't I get out?!" Gajeel yells, when 3 reports pop up, and 2 Projections pop up.
[Gray Vs Nab Vs Laki]
"Damn I don't have time for this; I need to deal with Freed and Evergreen or Laxus!" Gray says, taking a step, and the 2 are frozen up to their necks. "Sorry guys but I don't intend on losing, Master is counting on me." He says, apologetically.
[Alzack Vs Freed]
"Freed! You bastard, I hurt my friends, because of you and your Jutsu-Shiki! I said it was to save Bisca, but that doesn't stop the pain, I still hurt and betrayed my friends, Guns Magic: Tornado Shot!" Alzack yells, pointing his revolvers at Freed, releasing 2 blasts of wind at freed, but Freed simply cuts through the spell, as Alzack falls to the ground holding his throat.
"Can't breathe!?" Alzack says, passing out.
"Gray Vs Nab Vs Laki, Winner: Gray, Nab and Laki unable to fight!" Levy cheers.
"Alzack Vs Freed, Winner: Freed." Natsu reads, solemnly, after hearing Alzack.
"Evergreen, only survivor of a field of 5." Happy reads.
"Remaining Fairy Tail Members remaining: 4!" Makarov reads, seething.
"Black Steel, Natsu, Gray and Ur." Ruby says, at that moment they all hear a crack sound from the stage, they all look over and see Erza cracking, freaking, Natsu, Levy, Happy and Makarov out, while Ruby looks on curiously, with a thought.
"Makarov, doesn't the Armored Freak have a false eye?" Ruby asks, which immediately calms him down.
"She does, meaning Evergreen's Stone Eyes were only half as effective on her." Makarov says, happy, as the stone breaks off of her, she stands there for a second before glaring at Ruby.
"When this is over with, we're going to have words, Ruby." Erza says, and Ruby scoffs.
"The day you beat Laxus, is the day you can lecture me, Armored Freak." Ruby says, looking away.
"Yay, Erza's back to normal!" Happy yells. "Do you know the situation or do we have to explain?" He asks, but she shakes her head.
"I heard everything." Erza says.
"Then get out there, Erza, Natsu and Gajeel can't get through the barrier, right now the only people in the Guild to take on Freed, Evergreen and Laxus are Gray and Ur…" Makarov says, it's at that moment that 2 reports and projection pops up.
"Remaining Fairy Tail member: 6?" Erza says, confused. "It took me into account, but who's the other?" She asks, and Ruby chuckles.
"Are you that stupid, Armored Freak, there's only 1 of 2 people it could be, because we would know if Gildarts was back." Ruby says.
"Mystogan!"Levy yells out, even happier.
(Laxus, Mystogan, Erza and me, if only Gildarts was here, it'd be one heck of a fight.) Ruby thinks, but then they look at the other report, and Makarov smiles.
[Ur Vs Evergreen]
"Oh lookie here, it's my lucky day, the vain and overzealous brat." Ur says, simply, but smirking, which angers Evergreen.
"Vain, I'm the picture of beauty!" Evergreen snarls, throwing her fan out, launching a bunch of gold beams at her, which Ur fluidly dodges, taking a maker stance.
"Ice Make: Rapier." Ur chants, making a Rapier. "Picture of Beauty, with that face, you look more like an angry Vulcan to me." Ur smirks, pissing off Evergreen, who scatters gold dust around Ur, the dust proceeds to explode.
"Take that, Fairy Bomb: Gremlin!" Evergreen shouts, only to see a small Ice dome crumbling.
"Ice Make: Anaconda." Ur chants, as a massive snake slithers towards Evergreen, who jumps up and realfairy-like wings sprout out of her back, but then she has to dodge the Ice Rapier, then Ur appears over her, with greaves made of ice, kicking her in the head, knocking her down to the ice anaconda, which strongly constricts around her, making Evergreen scream in pain, until she passes.
"Ur Vs Evergreen, Winner: Ur. Well that was, a little… anticlimactic, I was expecting Evergreen to put up more of a challenge." Happy says, when all the girls are returned to normal.
"We're back to normal, thank you Ur." Lucy says, as Mira is already heading up to the second floor.
"Well done Ur, all the hostages are free, what'll you do now Laxus?!" Makarov laughs, and we see Laxus for a second, and he's absolutely livid. Mira gets up to see Ruby, just sitting there, staring at nothing.
"Ruby?" Mira asks, and Ruby looks at her, and Mira can see the conflict in her eyes.
"Damn it Ever, Bickslow, since when did you 2 get so weak!" Laxus screams.
"I'm not all that shocked by Ever's loss, Ur was recommended as a Wizard Saint, by Ruby and Makarov, but Bickslow losing to Fullbuster is a shock." Freed says.
"What are you doing here Freed!" Laxus yells, looking livid, and Freed sighs.
"The Games over, the hostages have been released, there's no more reason for the master to play the game." Freed says, Laxus looks at him and launches a lightning bolt in his direction, purposefully missing him.
"It isn't over! And if you aren't going to follow my lead, then LEAVE, MY Fairy Tail, doesn't need you!" Laxus says, pissed.
"I can't believe Laxus would do something like this." Cana says, but she glances up at Ruby and Mira, Ruby in an almost Catatonic-like state.
"Yes, but this should end now, now that you girls are no longer hostages, there's no way he can get to keep playing this twisted game of his, especially if Mystogan and Erza are headed towards him." Makarov says.
"But what you going to do to him, considering what he's done, he might be you Grandson, but you can't be lenient on him!" Bisca yells, and Makarov sighs.
"I hear you Bisca, and I don't plan on being lenient." Makarov says.
"You know Gramps, if this weren't the way it was today, this Battle of Fairy Tail thing would've be fun, you know an inner-Guild tournament where you set up who goes against who, until there's only one member left." Natsu says, and Makarov chuckles.
"You know what, that does sound like a fun idea, give the town and tourists a real spectacle, I'll run it by the mayor next year." Makarov says, and then a bunch of runes appear, shaping skulls with a lightning bolt mark.
"Can you hear me old man, and all the weaklings in the Guild, one of the rules no longer applies, so I added a new one." Laxus says through the runes.
"Damn it Laxus, why do you have to be stubborn?!" Mira hears Ruby say, as they're both staring at the rune skull.
"The Battle of Fairy Tail is going to continue, and to make sure it does, I've set up the Thunder Palace!" Laxus cackles, and inside Ruby's head there's the equivalent of a record scratch, and Mira sees all the conflict disappear from Ruby's eyes, as she jumps over the rails, and down to the first floor.
"ARE YOU CRAZY LAXUS!" Ruby screams, shocking everyone.
"Whoa, calm down Ruby."Laxus says, shocked himself.
"CALM DOWN, CALM DOWN, ARE YOU SO DESPERATE TO MAKE MAKAROV STEP DOWN, AND MAKE YOU GUILD MASTER, THAT YOU'D WIPE OUT THE ENTIRETY OF MAGNOLIA!" She screams, shocking them even more. "HAD YOU KEPT THIS TO THE GUILD MEMBERS, I MIGHT NOT HAVE CARED!" She screams, as her Magic is starting to shake the entire city.
"Ruby, just think about why I'm doing this!" He says trying to reason with her.
"I DON'T CARE ANYMORE, I BELIEVED IN YOU AT FIRST, BUT NOW THE ONLY THING DRIVING YOU IS PRIDE AND ARROGANCE. I SHOULD'VE STOPPED THIS, I KNEW IT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN, AND I KNEW IT WAS WRONG, WHY'D I LET I GO THIS FAR. "She screams, but now she drops to the floor in tears, the rune skulls are silent and disappear. "I'm sorry Laxus, but I can't let you do this." She whimpers. "Master, what do I do?" She asks, looking at Makarov but is horrified to see him fall to the ground, holding his chest.
"MASTER!" They all yell, and Ruby sits there watching this.
(Why, why, why.) Ruby thinks, reaching into Summer's leather pouch.
"Ruby, what are you doing, help us with Master Makarov." Cana says, when they all see her pull the Crystal Ball that she doesn't let anyone touch, out of its pouch.
"What do I do, please, I don't want to fight him, but he's not leaving me any choice, please, Mom, what do I do?" Ruby whimpers, confusing them, with her talking to the crystal ball, and thus are shocked, when they hear a kind and gentle voice from it.
"Honey, you know what you need to do, Laxus has gone too far, you can't treat him like a member of the Guild anymore, nor your best friend… or the man you love, right now he's acting like a Dark Mage, instead of a Light Mage." Summer says, shocking everyone, and Ruby tears up even more, but nods, putting Summer back in the pouch, she gets up, and starts walking to the entrance, when she feels somebody hug her.
"I know this is going to hurt, but I know you can do this, Ruby." Mira says.
"Sometimes, you have to do the right thing, no matter how much it hurts." Ruby says, shaking her off. "Black Steel, Natsu if you still want to fight…" She says, requipping a light pen and slashes it down, they see a bunch of runes appear and shatter. "You should be able to get through now." She says, requipping the pen away.
"Wait Ruby, what is the Thunder Palace?" Natsu asks.
"It's the spell I based my Thunder Leviathan : Kirin, off of, a spell capable of wiping a city off the face of Earthland." She says, horrifying everyone.
