Another One-Shot Chapter
EXTRA! Jaya! (Nami's POV)
Jaya was an island that instilled a strange feeling in Nami, especially during the chaotic moment when a group of unlucky marines pursued them, their desperation evident as they tried to catch the Straw Hat pirates.
It was on that eventful day that Sanji, the crew's talented cook, earned his bounty. To everyone's amusement, they were unable to capture a decent photo of the elusive cook, leading them to resort to a poorly drawn sketch that lacked any real resemblance.
When Sanji laid eyes on that unflattering illustration, he was outraged. He vehemently declared that he would demand an updated bounty poster, one that accurately showcased his likeness, in order to impress his "fans" and show that he was more than just a cook—he was a dashing and formidable member of the crew.
Nami couldn't shake off her irritation with Usopp. Ever since he'd foolishly consumed that peculiar fruit they had come across on Little Garden, she had learned it was a Devil Fruit, and her frustration had only grown.
The knowledge that he now had powers from such a dangerous fruit left her fuming. To make matters worse, she decided it was only fair to charge Usopp a significant amount of Berries for the trouble his reckless decision had caused. With each hefty sum she demanded, Nami felt a twisted sense of satisfaction, but deep down, she also worried about the implications of Usopp's newfound abilities.
She realized something was amiss when he accidentally collided with a door, his expression shifting from confusion to sheer panic as the door morphed into what appeared to be a barrage of tiny bullets.
This unexpected incident only added to his growing debt to Nami, particularly when he sheepishly requested an upgrade from his trusty slingshot to a more formidable musket. The scene was made even more amusing by Robin, who stood nearby, shaking her head in disbelief at the hapless sniper's comical plight.
Nami still couldn't believe the audacity of that man—the one who ate the pies.
He infuriated her, and even though she had told Luffy and Zoro not to attack him, she regretted it.
Seeing the man with missing teeth get completely dominated by two-thirds of 'The Monster Trio' would have turned her irritation into mere annoyance. However, she foolishly warned them not to attack him, not wanting to provoke pirates in Jaya.
It was then time for the crew to depart from Jaya. They needed to catch the knock-up stream, and the new heading for the crew was towards Skypia!
Nami had to trust Luffy, the captain of the Straw Hat crew, as they journeyed towards an island he promised existed, even though she still doubted the existence of the island in the sky.
The vast expanse of the ocean stretched endlessly around them when they spotted him again—the man with the crooked grin and missing teeth. Frantically, he attempted to impede their progress, his dilapidated raft barely holding together against the relentless waves.
Just as his desperate shouts echoed across the water, a powerful knock-up stream erupted from beneath, violently dismantling his makeshift vessel into a flurry of splintered wood and foam.
Amidst the swirling chaos of the stormy sea, Nami's piercing screams echoed, sharp and frantic, cutting through the tumult around her. She leaned in, her eyes wide with urgency, her voice rising above the clamour like a siren's call.
Meanwhile, Luffy, completely swept up in the exhilarating whirlwind of the moment, threw his arms wide and shouted joyfully, "SKYPIA!" The word burst forth with infectious enthusiasm, reverberating through the raging air like a battle cry of adventure.
As if in response to their fervour, the Going Merry suddenly surged upward, caught by the powerful embrace of the knock-up stream, lifting the crew into the heavens above—a thrilling ascension that promised endless adventures among the clouds.
