Alex awoke to find herself falling from a great height. She was wearing a combat uniform, ammo shells on her vest, and a shotgun on her back. Upon noticing she had some kind of parachute device on her body, she hit a red button repeatedly to no avail. Finally, the parachute opened, slowing down Alex's descent. Her parachute got snagged on the thick jungle forest and detached. Alex fell to the ground with a thud.
"Ow," Alex said painfully. She slowly got her bearings and felt her joints crack a bit as she got to her feet. On her body was a vest filled with ammo shells, a shotgun slung on her back, and a long Bowie knife also attached to her vest. She also had a pistol holstered.
Another man fell to the ground via parachute. He quickly got to his feet and aimed two submachine guns. He pointed them at Alex with a crazed expression on his face. He was tanned, skin, dark haired, and had a wrinkled face as if he had been in the sun way too long. "How about you calm down?" Alex asked annoyed.
"Fuck you!" the man said to her.
"Calm down or I'll put you down," Alex told him as she was about to draw her pistol.
Suddenly, a parachutist slammed violently to the ground in front of them, interrupting their argument. Alex could tell instantly the man was dead. "Well, looks like his chute didn't open," Alex figured.
The two suddenly had to take cover as the jungle became alive with plasma fire. Alex and the other man, Cuchillo, took cover in the dense forest. "This is some bullshit," Alex muttered and then went the long way around to outflank the shooter. As the shooter was trying to reload his weapon, Alex came from the side and put her shotgun muzzle to his head.
"Can you stop, please?" she asked annoyed. "You're shooting at the wrong people."
"How do I know?" the man asked.
"Cuz, you'd be dead by now," Alex said obviously.
"Alright...you want to show me the right ones," the man, Nikolai, asked.
"What's the last thing you remember?" Alex asked. Cuchillo walked over to the both of them.
"I was a prisoner in Russia. Then, I woke up...," Nikolai replied.
"Falling, same thing," Cuchillo interrupted.
"Could you not interrupt, God damn," Alex scolded him.
"Where are we?" Nikolai asked, looking around anxiously.
"Maybe she knows," Alex shrugged. In the distance was a woman with a sniper rifle. "You want to lower the rifle. We can see you."
"No," she shook her head.
"Well...why not?" Alex asked.
"I've never seen this jungle before and I've seen most," she said apprehensively.
"You've been to every jungle on Earth, every acre of every jungle?" Alex mocked.
"I saw more parachutes," the woman, Isabelle, said.
"Mind pointing them out?" Alex asked. "I want to know as much as you do what the fuck is going on here."
Isabelle reluctantly agreed and led them to where the others were. As it happened, they were being followed by Hanzo, from Japan, wearing a nice white suit. "You, remember a plane?" she asked Alex.
"I was on a Poseidon sub resting in my bunk and then I found myself in free fall," Alex said.
"You, a soldier?" Isabelle asked.
"Space Marine, Battle Brother," Alex replied.
The four discovered two men fighting each other with their fists and tree branches. They stopped fighting upon realizing they were being watched with condescending eyes. "By all means, keep going," Alex said to them.
The two got up and separated. "None of your fucking business," Stans said. He was slender, balding, and had a sunken look to him. The other man was Mombassa. He was bald and muscular.
"I will finish what you started," Mombasa threatened.
"What did he start?" Alex asked curiously.
"He tried to rape me," Mombasa said offended.
"What is this? Strength in numbers?" Stans asked.
"Something like that," Alex allowed.
"Maybe we should get that loser in the tree," Stans suggested.
The group came across a man shouting his lungs out, hanging upside down in a tree. "Help me, somebody, help me!" he shouted as his parachute got caught in the trees. "Can you get me out of this tree?" he asked them.
"How about you shut the fuck up before you draw more attention to yourself," Alex scolded. She then fired her shotgun at the tree branch, dropping the man into a pond.
"Like a gunshot doesn't draw attention," Isabelle mocked Alex.
"Staying in one place too long is also not tactical," Alex shot back.
"Who the fuck are you?" Stans asked the man in the pond.
"I'm a doctor. I was on my way to work. Can someone tell me what the fuck is going on here?" Edwin asked incredulously.
"No, let's move," Alex said to him and the rest of the group.
The group moved through the jungle in single file. "You have a nice ass," Stans complimented Alex.
"I don't swing that way," Alex shut him down.
The group came across Hanzo who was staring at some kind of alien obelisk. At the base of the obelisk were skulls and spines of humans. "Who would do this?" Isabelle asked ignorantly.
"They're called the Yautja. They collect trophies of those they kill. We're being hunted," Alex informed the group.
"Whatever," Stans rolled his eyes.
"Not whatever, they're tall, massive, and have advanced weaponry like cloaks and plasma canons. In my time, they were lethal as fuck," Alex told him.
"It's a test," Nikolai figured.
"This isn't a game or a training simulation. An alien is hunting us for sport. We must have been chosen for some reason," Alex said to the group. "So, time to fuss up."
"Drug and human trafficker. I kidnapped people for ransom. If the ransom wasn't paid, I light the victim on fire," Cuchillo revealed.
"God damn," Edwin said stunned.
"I was a soldier for a warlord in Africa. I killed and raped women, sometimes in that order," Mombasa admitted.
"Fuck," Edwin said shocked and appalled.
"I was a terrorist in Russia fighting the regime. I would sometimes massacre our own villages with chemical weapons to gain public sympathy," Nikolai said.
"Shit," Edwin said disgusted.
"I was a death row inmate for lots of child rape. I was also a priest," Stans said.
"What the fuck?" Edwin asked horrified.
"How about you?" Alex asked Hanzo. He merely remained silent; his crimes too horrific to say out loud. "And you?" she asked Isabelle.
"I was a soldier for the Israel Defense Force," Isabelle shrugged.
"Jesus," Edwin said as they finally got to the worst of the group.
"What's your deal, Doc?" Alex asked him.
"Oh, I have no idea. I'm innocent," he said.
"That sounds like bullshit," Alex doubted. "I'm here probably because my sister is fucking with me. So, I might be protected here. Therefore, it behooves you to work with me rather than against me."
"Who is your sister?" Isabelle questioned.
"The Supreme Leader," Alex replied.
"She is the reason we were put on trial and sent here," Mombasa accused.
"Look, I have my issues with her, too. If you want to survive. If you want some kind of pardon, work with me. Or, you can kill me and the Yautja will skin you alive," Alex told them.
"What do you suggest?" Isabelle asked.
"The high ground," Alex replied.
The group marched single file until they reached some rocky high ground out of the forest. Once they stopped for a break, Isabelle put Edwin on his knees. "He has a scalpel," she informed the group.
"Come on, I'm a Doc," Edwin protested.
"He took a sample of plant poison on it," Isabelle said. "It causes complete paralysis."
"Search him," Alex allowed.
With all guns on Edwin, Isabelle searched Edwin and carefully took the scalpel. "It could come in handy. I don't have a weapon. Everyone else does," Edwin protested.
"Yes, but they're accounted for," Alex said to him as she took the scalpel and put it in the water to clean it off. Alex then handed the scalpel back to Edwin. "I don't believe for a moment you're an innocent doctor. But you could be useful if one of us goes down."
"There's something strange about this place. Look," Isabelle said and then demonstrated by using a leaf and a hairpin. The leaf spun continuously, refusing to give true north.
"Yeah...and the sun hasn't moved," Alex added. "We're on an alien planet," she said nonchalantly. "We have all been chosen for the Yautja to hunt. Except for the doc, he doesn't fit in."
"And what's your deal? Why would the Supreme Leader's sister be on a Yautja hunt?" Isabelle asked.
"I don't know. I might be protected, might not. The Yautja and my sister aren't friends from my time," Alex replied.
Alex took point as the group marched single file through the thick jungle. Alex sliced through the vegetation with her Bowie knife until she found some containers lying around. Looking up, she also noticed the same containers in the trees. "Look alive, these containers must have held creatures the Yautja use to hunt," Alex informed the group.
Alex led the group to a particular spot in the woods. "This place looks good."
"What's the plan?" Isabelle asked.
"We set up traps," Alex said. "Use the forest to our advantage. Everyone, put down your weapons and start working."
"Put down our weapons?" Isabelle questioned.
"The Yautja won't engage if we're not armed," Alex told her.
For the remainder of the day, Alex taught the others how to make traps. It involved a lot of forest work and digging to make all the traps. The entire camp area perimeter had trip ropes all around. As it happened, the Yautja, whether they were there or not, did not engage while they worked. Alex then brought the group together.
"We're going to cloverleaf around the camp to lure the Yautja hunters to our traps," she said and then demonstrated what she meant by drawing them on the ground. "We stick together at all times. Get your weapons."
The group did as Alex said through the forest. As the cloverleaf paths became wider and wider, they ended up out of the forest. There, they were able to see a gas giant and several moons in the sky.
"What the fuck?" Cuchillo wondered.
"As I figured," Alex rolled her eyes.
The group continued to move around the forest until a drone of some kind went past them overhead. "Hey, this is bullshit. I want a gun," Stans complained as he only had a knife. "This guy has two. I want a gun," he insisted.
"Hand him your pistol," Alex ordered Mombasa.
"He cannot be trusted," Mombasa told her.
"I don't trust any of you, but we have to work together if we are to survive," Alex told him.
Mombasa reluctantly handed his pistol over to Stans as he still had a rifle. "What about me?" Edwin asked lamely.
Alex ignored him and focused on the noise in the distance. "What do you got?" Alex asked Isabelle who had the sniper rifle.
"Some kind of alien dog creature with spikes, several of them," she said.
"Spread out and form a line, give yourselves sectors of fire," Alex ordered quickly. "Isabelle, start firing. Everyone else, wait until they get close." The alien hounds approached single file to hide their numbers and then spread out. Isabelle fired at the moving targets, but single bullets weren't enough to take them down.
"Hold your fire," Alex said to the group as the hounds came closer.
The hounds conducted a flanking maneuver to the left and right of them. "Give me a diamond formation," Alex ordered. The group formed a diamond with Edwin inside the diamond since he didn't have a weapon to speak of.
As the hounds came closer still, Alex finally gave the order. "Fire!" The group lit the hounds up with their respective weapons. Nikolai blasted the whole forest with this Gatling gun, Alex fired her shotgun, and Mombasa and Cuchillo fired their rifles. Hanzo and Stans stayed within the diamond and waited as they only had pistols and limited ammunition. Edwin, for his part, climbed a tree. Isabelle likewise climbed a tree to give her a better sniper position.
Despite the group's best efforts, the hounds managed to burst through the diamond and scatter the group. The situation quickly became a clusterfuck of firing and scrambling between the group and the hounds. Alex's shotgun jammed, forcing her to use her pistol. She fired on the hound to limited effect. She stumbled back and fell to the ground. When it looked like the end for her, she pointed the pistol to her head with the last bullet.
"No!" Edwin shouted at her.
Immediately, there was a sound that called the hounds away. Alex sighed with relief and put her pistol away. Getting to her feet, she dusted herself off and then gave the rally symbol over her head. "Form up," she called the others who were scattered about.
The group came together around a hound body. "Listen up, I want an ammunition count. We need to conserve ammunition. Reload, do it now," she ordered.
"Excuse me, what the fuck is going on?" Edwin asked confused.
"We're being hunted. The planet is a game preserve and we're the game. No doubt these hounds come from the cages we found," Alex said. "They sent the dogs to watch us and scatter us."
"How do you know this?" Isabelle asked.
"Because I hunted them once. I was the Director of the DEO, the Department of Extraordinary Operations. We encountered these Yautja hunters occasionally. We lost some good men tracking them and killing them," Alex explained. "This is their jungle, their game, their rules. If we run, we die."
"What is the alternative?" Isabelle asked.
"We fortify our position and wait for backup to arrive," Alex said.
Soon thereafter, the Yautja warriors did attack. They triggered some of the perimeter traps creating a chain of events. The three Yautja would be named Tusks, Falconer, and Berserker for identification purposes. They were all bigger and stronger than the Yautja Alex and Kara had encountered a thousand years ago. Upon hitting a branch on the ground, a large log slammed into Tusks knocking him to the ground with torso injuries.
The other two Yautja were hit with a rain of wooden stakes from a net constructed above them. The two scrambled away trying to avoid getting hit. Falconer was suddenly slammed by a spike-filled trap that slammed him to the ground. Berserker was hit multiple times with spikes and fell into a hole filled with spikes. Annoyed, Berserker lifted himself out of the hole with a serious wound to his leg from the spikes. He was also bleeding from his back and shoulders from the wooden spikes.
Falconer tore apart the trap he was under and got back to his feet with several deep torso injuries. Tusks was in bad shape with his rib cage broken. The three cloaked themselves only to be blasted with gunfire. Alex fired her shotgun in the general direction of the Yautja, and Nikolai fired his Gatling gun with suppressive fire. The two, together, filled the air with plasma fire that created an instant forest fire. One of the Yautja fired back at Nikolai with a few plasma bursts. One of them hit Nikolai's Gatling gun, disabling it.
"Fall back!" Alex ordered the group as the Yautja regained the upper hand.
Nikolai ran as quickly as he could as he was being fired upon by plasma bursts. The Yautja took the offensive with plasma bursts forcing the humans to retreat. "Fall back to the river!" Alex yelled to everyone.
The human group went through the dense forest as fast as they could, tumbled down a hill, and jumped off a cliff into a river. In the water, the group swam with the current away from the area. A drone capable of killing them all circled the area and then came back to Falconer. The three Yautja decloaked, showing their severe injuries. Their bodies were covered in green blood. Even while wearing masks, it was obvious the Yautja were hurt and pissed off. Still, it had been a while since prey had given them this sort of challenge before. It was exciting in a way.
The human group came to a cave entrance on the river. "Now you know what we're up against. Even after all that damage we gave them, they're still alive," Alex said to the group.
"So, we know firsthand how it feels to get our assess kicked?" Stans questioned.
"Look, asshole. We now know there are more than one of them. They usually hunt alone or in packs of three. So, now we know there are probably three of them working together. These Yautja are different from the ones I faced. They're stronger, bigger, more resilient. They have evolved," Alex said.
"So, what's the plan now?" Edwin asked.
"We're going to kill them all," Alex said resolutely. "We form a defense perimeter like before, we force them into a chokepoint, and we get them into overlapping fields of fire. It can be done if we work together."
In the dense jungle forest, Alex positioned everyone into a patrol base, a circular perimeter. She then teamed up everyone in sets of two in case one went down, or one was an uncooperative betrayer. Edwin ended up with Stans who was quite talkative. "When I get home, I'm going to do so much fucking cocaine. I'm going to rape so many fine bitches. No matter what time it is, even 0500, I'm going to rape me some fine bitches," he said conversationally.
"At 0500, damn, that's early," Edwin rolled his eyes.
"Yeah," Stans agreed.
On the other side of the patrol base, Alex and Isabelle hung out. "You know, all of this magazine slamming and loading of ammunition is the best kind of weapon's porn," Alex remarked.
"Too bad we don't have time to fuck," Isabelle said as she looked around apprehensively.
Alex gave her a doubletake. "What the hell?"
"You know the difference between you and me is?" Isabelle said rhetorically. "You adopted the heterosexual mindset and values. You did what they do. You got married, had a kid, and now you're the protector and provider. You're the man of your house. What happened to you? What made you so brainwashed?"
"As opposed to what? Being a lesbian whore? Straight women do that, too," Alex said offended.
"It's not being a whore when you're the hunter. After getting a taste of queer flesh, you can't really go back. You hunt for women who are young, confused, vulnerable, and you make them full-blown queer for life," Isabelle said reflectively. "While you have been tamed, I'm still a wild homosexual."
"Having a family and living traditional values allows me to be a better Space Marine, a better killer," Alex said defensively and then stabbed a scorpion dead with her knife to demonstrate her point.
The group then heard some noises within the perimeter. Alex and Isabelle looked around for the source, seriously spooked. "Over here," the voice mocked from all around them. "Over here...over here."
Alex looked for the source of the voice and then suddenly heard the sound of a plasma rifle. Closing her eyes in resignation, she realized the Yautja had gotten to her. "Turn around," the voice ordered.
Alex did so and then the intruder decloaked revealing himself to be a fat human with a Yautja mask on. "What the fuck are you?" Alex wondered.
"I'm alive," he whispered creepily as he took his mask off.
At this point, the others in the group had the strange fat man surrounded. "You, guys, talk too loud. I heard you since you got here. If I can hear you, they can, too. A storm is coming soon. This way," he said.
"Wait, we have traps set up and a fortified position," Isabelle protested.
"The storm is going to wash you all out," he warned.
"Who are you?" Alex demanded.
"I'm the one that got away. I'm the one you don't fuck with," he said super-seriously.
"Well, I wasn't going to, but okay," Alex rolled her eyes.
The man ignored her and then walked off. Alex sighed and realized the truth of the matter. In a storm, they would be vulnerable to the elements. She gave the others the signal to file after the weird man.
The group made their way onto more flat rocky terrain and found several massive ancient artillery guns. The guns were in a state of disrepair and rust with vegetation all over them. The weird man led the group inside one of the massive guns to take shelter from the storm. The artillery gun was so massive that it was a maze to get through its tunnels.
"Where are we?" Isabelle asked.
"A planetary artillery gun. The machine is dead but the power source ain't," the weird man replied.
They finally came upon the weird man's room. He turned on the lights, giving them a clear view of the room. It was filled with weapons and food supplies. It was a bit of a mess. "What a shithole. You actually live here?" Stans criticized.
"Oh, no, this is just my summer home. I winter in the Riviera. The schools are so much nicer there and the men are so ooh Lala," the weird man replied. "By the way, you're welcome, asshole."
"How did you survive? How did you get so fat?" Isabelle asked.
"Scavenging what I can, when I can, from whatever I can," he said vaguely. "They drop you all in, too?" he asked Alex.
"Yeah," Alex confirmed.
"What a rush," he chuckled.
Stans then started messing with the weird man's armor. "Hey, don't fuck with my shit. That's very important. It disrupts their heat signature," he said of the armor.
"How many of them have you killed?" Alex asked curiously.
"Two, maybe three," the weird man replied.
"They bring people like us here all the time?" Alex continued.
"Season after season, people you wouldn't believe," he laughed. "Bring them in, hunting them, and killing them in that order.
"What other order would it be?" Alex wondered.
"How long have you been here, man?" Stans asked.
"Seven...no... ten seasons. God damn," the weird man reflected. "Anyway, every once in a while, one of us kills one of them. That's when things get interesting. They learn quick, they adapt, they come back with a new set of skills, always in sets of three. Their weapons will change, their tactics will change," the weird man said.
"Where is their ship?" Alex asked.
"It's thirty meters from their camp," the weird man replied. "You want to survive, you dig in deep, wait for others to die, take their shit."
"How do we get out of this valley?" Stans asked.
"Two...three seasons, I walked a straight line from here. There is no edge to the preserve," the weird man replied.
"What about the ship?" Alex pressed.
"Oh, I see. That's a brilliant idea. The whole time I've been here, it never occurred to me to commandeer the alien spaceship," the weird man mocked.
"I'll give it a shot," Alex said seriously.
The weird man merely laughed at that. "Well, I'm going to get some sleep. They're out there. Always out there. Help yourselves."
Alex kept an eye on the weird man as he went to sleep. Nikolai took out a photograph. "What is that?" Stans asked.
"My kids," he replied.
"This is my sister," Stans said showing a naked woman tattoo on his stomach.
"First, Nikolai, put that photo away before you jinx yourself. Second, Stans...what the fuck?" Alex scolded them both.
"This is old, very old," Hanzo said as he found a Samurai sword. "They have been doing this for a long time."
Alex went over to Isabelle and gave her a drink. "Thank you," she said appreciatively. "You know what I was doing when I was taken?"
"I...don't really need to know," Alex resisted.
"I was sniping Palestinian kids. I had almost gotten my record for the day when I was taken. I wish I had taken that last shot," Isabelle said reflectively.
"I didn't need to hear that," Alex groaned.
"You said we were chosen. Chosen for what? Why? It's because we're all predators...like them. We're the monsters of our own world," Isabelle said thoughtfully. "Maybe, we're not supposed to go back. Maybe, we're meant to start again in this Garden of Eden but one where there are no men," Isabelle said.
"Well, I'm going to go back. I'm going to take us to that ship," Alex said resolutely. "I've flown alien ships. I'll figure it out."
As it became night, Alex put her plan into action. The weird man was put into restraints and gagged because she didn't entirely trust him and figured he had led them into his domain to kill them, eat them, and take their stuff. "Everyone, ready? The Calvary will be here shortly," Alex said and then detonated an explosive that ripped through the gun's hull.
As it happened, the explosive was noticed by the three Yautja who happened to be tracking them. "Alright, let's move," Alex said to the squad. Everyone moved through the tunnels of the gun except Nikolai and Edwin who had their own mission, and the weird man who was still tied up. As the squad exited the gun out the rear, the weird man finally got free of his restraints. He quickly found himself spotted by Tusk.
"What took you so long, big boy?" the weird man asked upon realizing he was doomed.
Tusk blasted the weird man to pieces with his plasma canon at close range and continued his search. Inside the gun, Edwin was on his own with some flares. He would ignite them and drop them on the floor every so often. Finally, Tusk revealed himself as the smoke from the flare moved around his body. Edwin gulped as Tusk approached him. Edwin walked backwards and put his hands up under the assumption the Yautja wouldn't attack him unless he was armed.
Nikolai suddenly grabbed Edwin out of the tunnel and detonated the explosives. The entire tunnel exploded as it was lined with explosives and grenades. The Yautja had fallen right into the trap. Nikolai and Edwin took cover as the explosion went through the tunnel pathway. Turning back, Tusk was indeed dead in pieces. They had made their first Yautja kill.
In the distance, Alex's squad heard the explosion. "Ha, we fucking killed it. Who's your Daddy now, motherfucker?" Stans celebrated.
"Keep moving. We still have the other two," Alex reminded him. Alex remained behind as everyone took off. Beserker then decloaked in front of Alex and put three red dots on her head. "What are you waiting for?" Alex taunted.
Berserker powered up his plasma cannon but didn't shoot. Falconer then decloaked next to him. Alex eyed Falconer as he took off after the group using his mask to track their footprints. Alex merely smirked as Falconer then took off, leaving her alone with Beserker.
As the group exited the forest into a large open danger area of tall grass, Hanzo stopped and took out his sword. Isabelle gave him a nod and kept going with the rest of the group. Hanzo readied himself under the assumption the Yautja would only fight gun to gun, sword to sword, under their honor code. Falconer then decloaked and extended his wrist blade as expected.
Hanzo engaged Falconer for several swipes and was then tossed into the grassy field. Hanzo got back up and the two continued to duel. Falconer got Hanzo with a slice to the back. Hanzo was able to give Falconer a deep abdomen cut. Hanzo was finally forced back into the grass. A shot rang out as a sniper bullet went through Falconer's chest, right through his heart. Isabelle had remained in the tree line and was cloaked using the weird-man's mask. Falconer dropped to his knees devastated. Hanzo snuck up behind Falconer and sliced his head off with his sword. He then ran off into the forest.
In the dense forest, Edwin suddenly stumbled. A trap was now on his foot. "Oh, fuck, shit!" Edwin called out. Isabelle looked over the trap and unlocked it. "Another inch and it would have hit my tibial artery," Edwin noted.
"I think that was on purpose, boss. The trap was not meant to kill but to maim," Mombasa said knowingly.
"Your dead weight now, amigo," Cuchillo agreed.
"No, I can still walk," Edwin said and tried to get up. Immediately, he fell back down painfully.
"You're done, fucking done, man. You're going to beg us to slow down," Stans said sympathetically.
"Hey, you can't leave me here...not without a shit-ton of explosives," Edwin said finally.
"What?" Isabelle questioned.
"Use me as a booby trap. They come for trophies. When they get to me, I'll set it off," Edwin said sacrificially. "This man has kids. I got nothing," he pointed out to Nikolai.
"We leave no man behind," Nikolai resisted.
"This is our only chance. I'm begging you. I haven't been completely honest with you guys. I'm a murderer...I've killed...more patients than all of you combined probably. I did it for fun. I'm fucked up. When I first met you all, I was going to paralyze you with my scalpel and ask to join forces with them," Edwin admitted.
"What the fuck?" Isabelle wondered.
"So, give me this chance to redeem myself," Edwin pleaded.
"Do it," Isabelle agreed instantly.
"Just be nice about it," Edwin said as they placed explosives on him and then laid him on his stomach.
Alex stared Berserker down with no fear. "I am Imperial Princess Alexandra, the sister of Kara Zor-El. You're going to take me to your ship," she ordered. "You, understand me?"
Berserker wasn't too keen to be bossed around by an obnoxious queer human. He grabbed her by the throat and then turned her head to the right and left as to examine her. He then pushed her back. Fingering his wristband computer, he activated his ship. A hologram of Earth and the moon showed up on the wristband. "Yes, Earth. Now, escort me to your ship," Alex ordered.
Berserker merely laughed at her imitating a human.
With the exception of Alex, still with Berserker, and Edwin who was a living sacrifice, the others boarded the Yautja ship. The ship then took off into the atmosphere. Berserker then fingered his wristband computer, causing the ship to explode, killing everyone onboard.
"You, son-of-a-bitch!" Alex shouted at him and attacked him out of anger.
Berserker slammed her down to the ground and punched her to the face for the audacity. Alex got out of the way as Berserker tried to strike at her again. She got herself a rock and slammed Berserker's face with it. Berserker and Alex circled each other and then slammed each other in a wrestling hold. Berserker took Alex to the ground. The two broke contact and got back to their feet. Pissed off, Berserker fired his plasma canon at Alex nearly hitting her. Alex took cover and was covered in sparks.
Berserker went to the last place Alex was and found her gone. Alex suddenly slammed into Berserker with her Bowie knife read. The two clashed repeatedly with their blades until Berserker headbutted Alex. Stunned and possibly having a concussion, Alex fell to her knees. Berserker took her by the throat, took off his mask, and roared at her to intimidate her.
"You're one...ugly...motherfucker," Alex remarked.
Berserker was about to slice her head off with his wrist blade when he stopped himself. Regaining his wits, Berserker merely pushed Alex aside and went on his merry way to kill the rest of the survivors.
Berserker made his way back to his camp and found Edwin lying on the ground. "Help me, I'm one of you," Edwin said to him. Berserker wasn't convinced and put a blade through Edwin's back, mortally wounding him. Berserker then pulled him over and got hit with several grenades at once. The explosion sent Berserker back severely wounded. Edwin, the good doctor, was dead.
Alex made her way back to the camp and prepared herself for another round. She took off her vest and shirt so that she was only in her sports bra. She then covered herself in mud to make it difficult for the Yautja to see her. She then used the fire from Edwin's explosion to create a forest fire around her to further distort the Yautja's vision. Finally, she took out her Bowie knife.
Berserker looked around and was suddenly hit several times over with Alex's knife as she went past him. His vision was distorted, unable to see where Alex was amidst the flames. Berserker finally located Alex using her heartbeat against her. He fired his plasma canon at her and blasted her to the ground. Pissed off but unable to kill her, Berserker threw Alex around like a ragdoll. He kicked and punched her while she was still on the ground. Berserker finally had enough of Alex as he pulled her off the ground by her neck and prepared his wrist blade on her.
Suddenly a shot rang out as a bullet went through Berserker's chest. He turned around and wasn't able to find the sniper. Alex got back to her feet and swung her blade at the Yautja's helmet. The mask came off Berserker's face and onto the ground. Alex swung at the back of Berserker's head a few times, deep gashes in his scalp, and then sliced his left arm off. Alex finally split his head open with green blood everywhere.
"We didn't kill you only because of your sister," Berserker spat with an inhuman guttural voice.
"I don't fucking care," Alex said and then sliced his head off.
Alex fell to her knees exhausted and hurt. Isabelle then approached, taking off cloak and mask. "Where is everyone else?" Alex asked.
"They all died when the ship exploded," Isabelle said.
"Why didn't you go with them?" Alex asked confused.
"I had a feeling they wouldn't let us go until the last one was killed," Isabelle said simply.
"Then...why did you let them go onto the ship?" Alex asked bewildered.
"So, it would just be the two of us," Isabelle said obviously. "Our own world together, our Garden of Eden." She then held Alex's face and kissed her. "You look so hawt with all that mud on you," she smiled.
"I wanted to save everyone. That's what all these plans and traps were for," Alex said to her.
"They were murderers, rapists, the worst of the worst," Isabelle told her.
"They were still my men," Alex insisted.
"Forget about men," Isabelle said to her. "When the next batch of men arrive, we can kill them before the Yautja do. We can be the predators. And we can make love every night without any risk. It will be a paradise for us."
"I'm married. I have a daughter," Alex resisted.
"Forget about them," Isabelle enticed.
Alex suddenly sliced her deep through the gut. Isabelle immediately tried to shoot her, but Alex was already on her. She grabbed a hold of the rifle, forced it to drop its magazine. Isabelle tried to fire on her but misfired. With the rifle empty, Alex sliced across Isabelle's gut, ensuring her demise. "At least, it was by you," Isabelle said as she spat out blood. Alex then dropped her on the ground.
The next morning, Alex noticed more cages and parachutes dropped onto the ground. "Well...shit," she sighed. At least now she had a cloaking device mask and a sniper rifle.
A squad of Yautja suddenly decloaked around Alex. "Who's next?" Alex asked exhaustedly.
Mara and Bro-Lee appeared in a flash among the Yautja gathering. The two of them were both wearing Insane armor. Mara gave Alex a quick visual scan to see if she had any mortal injuries. "Was this your idea?" Alex asked her resentfully.
"Before your arrival to this time, the Supreme Leader made a peace treaty with the Yautja. In return for peace, they were given death-row prisoners to hunt. I have expanded upon this deal, allowing the Yautja to hunt heretics and infidels in my crusade," Mara said.
"Of course, you would," Alex rolled her eyes. "But it's obvious you don't trust them, which is why you brought him with you."
Mara eyed Bro and then went back to Alex. "For a human, your combat skills are impressive, Alex. You brought down three Yautja warriors through teamwork, ingenuity, planning, creativity, and grit."
"Let's not jerk me off too hard. It could stain your pure reputation," Alex mocked.
"My mother offers you the choice to return to civilian life. Otherwise, you will go back to the Space Marines under my command," Mara said.
"To get me killed?" Alex figured.
Mara got closer to Alex and stared her down. "No one wants to get you saved more than me. By participating in my crusade, your sins of sexual debauchery may be wiped clean. Nothing would give me greater happiness than the entire family having a seat at God's table. If you won't help yourself, I will purify you, myself," Mara said seriously.
"You're fucking crazy if you think this crusade makes you holy and that my loving family makes me wretched," Alex sneered.
"The human Space Marines division will be on the front lines of my crusade. You either join the crusade, or you're out," Mara said simply.
"Then, I'm in," Alex said stubbornly.
Mara gave Alex a slightly surprised look and then nodded to the Yautja present. She then escorted Alex to her ship for her next mission.
Author's Notes: Predators is a painful inferior rip-off of the first Predator film with barely any originality in its plot or setting. Instead of expanding on the lore of the Predators we know, it creates an entirely new batch of Predators we barely get to know. None of the characters are likeable, especially the lead played by Adrian Brody. He just recently got an Oscar...again and is one of the better actors in the business but he's miscast in this film and painfully "trying" to be the tough guy asshole. The film lacks the military friendship, charisma, and the fun of the original film or the emotional pain when one of them dies. At first, I was going to have Alex be the sniper and take out Royce early on for being an ass but then I saw potential in a lesbian sub-plot. The Yautja have been given several episodes in AOS and AOS spinoffs.
